There were so many little things that I disliked about my T1i that when I had the chance, I upgraded. Thought long and hard about the 7D, but it just didn't make sense for me, my skill level, the size of my hands, etc. etc. Maybe someday I'll regret that decision, but right now, I'm in love with the 60DThe swivel screen is a really fantastic addition. I was spoiled by this on my old S1iS and S2iS. I didn't realize how much I missed it until I started using the 60D.For someone making that upgrade, there will be some adjustments necessary, but after two outings and using the book to verify a few of the things I wasn't sure about, I'm thrilled with the quality of my shots. MUCH better than the same shots taken with the T1i.

One of my first cameras was a film SLR. I love the flexibility a SLR offers. DSLR's have been out of reach for me because of the price. But recently the prices have dropped and have become more affordable for non-professionals like me. The Canon 60D is a wonderful camera. The image quality outdoors is truly stunning! The camera has a very fast start-up and the shutter burst mode is more than suitable for my needs. The menus and controls are well laid out and intuitive. Bought this as a second body back-up and now use it more than my primary. If you don't need all of the bells and whistles, weather proofing, this is the perfect camera. In the Canon lineup it lives between the pro equipment and the enthusiast stuff, so for just a great carry camera and all around fun rig, it's terrific. The flip-out screen sold me on this and now that I have it, everything else seems primitive. The one thing I didn't expect to utilize as much as I now do is the built in level in the viewfinder and for low light shooting, it's a must-have. The one big drawback to this camera is the focus on live-view is slow and clumsy, but for what I do (timelapse and night photography), it's rarely an issue. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat.

I bought this camera several days ago, it is an absolutely great camera. You may be confused on which brand to buy: Nikon D7000 or Canon 60D, that's pretty understandable. I've researched both Nikon and Canon for six months, personally, I like Canon 60D for its natural, crystal clear pictures as well as the super video quality. As to camera features, I think the most important is the picture and color quality. Canon 60D is awesome, it has the same picture quality as the Canon 7D but you can save five hundred dollars or more, in addition, you get very nice Canon 18-200 len, I enjoy it very much.

This camera is extremely powerful. As a novice photographer it is taking some getting used to. I have gotten some great photos from it and it was easy to get great photos. I wanted to buy a camera in the $500 price range, but could not find one that would make better pictures than my old Canon PowerShot S3 IS.I've tried some 'bridge cameras' but was very disappointed with their noisy image quality.Finally I've found [...] where I was able to see sample shots from all the different cameras.Comparing the sample images it was clear that the Canon EOS 60D is the best choice under $2000.I took a leap of faith and decided to get the Canon EOS 60D.All the pictures I take with this camera have delicate details, beautiful colors and come out razor sharp.I can definitely suggest this camera.

Most of the negative reviews for the Canon 60D center on image quality that should be blamed on lenses & not the camera body! If you are not happy with the image quality send the camera and lens to Canon USA for tune-up. My 18/200 zoom was not very sharp. When I got it back it was Very Good! By the way, the camera only stores the image. It's the Lens that takes the photo. Better to buy a cheaper camera body and spend the money on a higher end lens like the 17/55 f2.8 zoom rather then the cheap Kit Lenses. There is a good reason the Pro's use the Canon "L" series lenses!

I upgraded from a Nikon D40 and I must say that this was a great switch! I am an amateur photographer and I mostly shoot portraits. This camera provides great detail in my subjects features. The kit lens is okay, but I purchased a 50mm f/1.4 lens and I rarely use any other lens. The results are stunning. I recently did a wedding and reception that had very low lighting and I was able still take wonderful photos. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

I recently purchased the Canon EOS 60D with the 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS UD Standard Zoom Lens. The camera is awesome, easy to use and navigate, and the flip-out display makes shooting HD video a breeze. The kit lense is perfect and provides all the zoom you really need when walking around town, popping off shots. My girlfriend and I absolutely love this camera and we are looking forward to adding a prime lense to it and some other goodies as well. It's a great camera for someone just starting out, like me.

I was wanting to get into a camera that was built on the CF (Compact Flash) card instead of the SD card. The write speeds are tripled or more on the max CF card vs. The max SD card. That allows for better pictures, especially better sports pictures where you can achieve detail in a thrown piece of snow while keeping your subject very clear and grain free. Faster ISO, and just down-right better pics. Especially since the best SD card out right now is only 30mb/s, and I read that they could choose to use the READ speed instead of the WRITE speed on their rating. Alas, I purchased this camera because I couldn't find a low-end CF style camera (in Canon, the brand I wanted) in my budget anymore. (the 50D was in my sights, but being designed in '08, This D60 on an SD format has more options besides the false advertising on the speeds)

This is a fantastic camera. In the past, I had been using my Dad's Rebel Xsi, but when I made my first dslr purchase I really wanted a step up. This 60D was the perfect fit. At $1000 it is a affordable but has many features of the higher end Canon cameras. My favorite part is how well it is designed to be used on manual. With the rebel line, manual mode is cumbersome and annoying. However, with the extra wheel placed by your thumb on the 60D, manual is a breeze. It is all I use these days! I was upgrading from a Rebel XT and I hesitated buying this camera for a while because there are so many other cameras. I finally decided I would buy this camera because of the swivel screen and because of its 1080 video capabilities. I haven't even used the video yet and I love this camera! It's really quick. It feels great in my hands... very firm build. It takes great photos. The battery lasts a long time (compared to the XT).My only criticism is that I'm not comfortable with the scroll wheel and push buttons between. I find myself scrolling when I don't want to and it's kind of annoying. But this doesn't stop me from giving the camera 5 stars. Stop waiting to buy this and buy it. It's awesome!

As a photography educator, I work with just about every brand and model of camera you can think of. I've been impressed with the Canon 60D, especially the combination of live view and the flip out screen. It's such a great way to teach composition.

I've been using dSLR's since 2000, and the 60D is quickly becoming my favorite camera. It has much better image quality than my 40D, and even sharper images than my 5D. In fact, I don't have to use PS actions to "defog" my images anymore. I think this camera is a winner for wedding and glamour photographers because they are relatively inexpensive, you can buy a few and have multiple camera bodies with different lenses. I've shot three or four weddings with this camera already and the images and video are incredible. I'm planning to buy another 60D very soon.

This is my first SLR camera and I LOOOOVE it after only 2 weeks! It was completely overwhelming at first to go from my point and shoot to the SLR. However, now I am taking pictures that look amazing. Don't think I sat there reading and studying how to use this camera and that's how I became accustom to it because I have two very small children and no time for that. I simply read the get started section and played around with it. I'm not even close to knowing how to use all of the functions yet but the pictures I've taken already are beautiful. I highly recommend this camera to people of all stages of camera knowledge. It has proven worth the money already.

i got the 60d to replce my 30d and i am loving it.the image quality and auto focus system are greatly improved since the 30d.i definitely recommend.

Amazing camera. I'm not pro on these DSLR's but it's not so hard to understand how things work.60D is my first DSLR and I'm so happy to have it

Love the camera so far. Great price, excellent quality.My ONLY complaint is that the camera does not auto-focus when you are taking HD video. So when I took test video of my dogs, I had to continuously manually focus the camera as the dogs moved closer to me. It's a pain, but the HD video picture is superb.

Having owned every Canon Digital SLR since the original Digital Rebel, the 60D finally offers the flip out and rotatable screen... which I had in my old Olympus Digital with the fixed lense.That mostly sums up why I bought the camera... I sold my 50D on Amazon soon thereafter.The 60D is an addition to my Canon 7D, so I have a walkaround Tamron 18-270 on the 60D and my Canon 100-400 on the 7D. I'm ready for just about anything.

i just upgrade from t2i.its stronger build than t2i.i love the screen ,i can now take picture with different angle.i did try d7000 which i returned,it was good camera but canon screen and 18 megapixel made me choose 60d.

Скоростной съёмкой пользовался редко, по ней сказать ничего особенного не могу. Стараюсь попадать в момент без серии кадров, чтобы потом не разбирать из массы фотографий. Может поэтому количество кадров, снятых камерой только недавно перешагнуло через 30000 и то с учётом того, что обработанные в камере RAW файлы тоже отображаются, как новые фотографии. В итоге могу сказать, что камера очень удобна и приятна в обращении и, возможно, будет актуальна для начинающих в фотографии людей ещё долгое время. Использовать камеру нужно с хорошими стёклами. Именно они помогут полностью раскрыть все возможности этого фотоаппарата. К особенности камеры могу отнести сбои, которые были при работе с неоригинальным аккумулятором, от него пришлось избавиться.
Изначально снимал на механическую (мануальную) оптику, затем стал брать полнокадровые объективы с автофокусом, чтобы быть готовым в дальнейшем использовать их и на полном кадре. По истечении лет могу поставить камере твёрдую 5 +.
