When I first went from a point and shoot to the T3 I thought it cant get any better than this. Then I recently purchased the 60D and wow was I ever shocked at how much sharper the photos turned out. Bright crisp and loaded with detail that just wasn't there before.

I have a lot to learn about this camera. I can say that even on the easiest auto modes the pictures I take with the D60 have much more clarity and sharpness than what I was used to with the T1i. It's a fairly large step up in price but I believe I will get much better shots all around. I am an amateur but I will stand by these opinions.

The 60D fills a niche between my prior Digital Rebel and the 7D. I very much like the lighter body and comfortable larger grip for my XL hands. Having the 1080 HD capability makes this a hybrid for an enthusiast like me that makes photography a lot of fun. The logic board gives me a range and depth of saturation of colors not possible in my older Rebel. I am very pleased with the results.

In the fall of 2009 I bought a Canon Rebel XS. It was the perfect camera to learn on. Nothing too complicated, but it still took incredible images. I even shot my brother's engagement photos with my Rebel XS and a Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens and had people asking what professional took them (I am faaaar from a professional!).However, after a couple years with my Rebel, I knew it was time for an upgrade. I knew I wasn't ready for a full-frame monster like the 5D Mark X series, but I wanted a substantial upgrade. I was torn deciding initially between the T3i and the 60D. The articulated screen, HD video abilities, and 18 MP sensor were all attractive features. After watching numerous reviews comparing the two, I realized it only comes down to a few features. I then started looking at the 7D and watched numerous reviews comparing the two. I again realized it only comes down to a few features.It basically came down to this: the 7D had the features I wanted but was out of my price range. The T3i was a nice upgrade, but I feared owning it a year and feeling like I was ready to upgrade again. The 60D was exactly what I wanted: a huge upgrade from my Rebel XS without breaking the bank. It had enough of the higher-end features to be competitive and a camera I wasn't going to be tired of in a few months while keeping the price tag under $1000.All this to say: if you're in the same place I was, the 60D is the camera for you!

Update (11/03/2012): I got the replacement of the new 60d with 18-135 lens and Amazon confirmed that they received damaged one (so nothing to worry now). Good job Amazon for the prompt response.Though I had a hard time tracking the package when UPS picked it up since the package was gone and UPS left a UPS info notice saying that 1st attempt of pick up failed.As to the product, i have to invest more time to ensure that everything is working fine. This is my first DSLR and I'm very excited to use it more since this is a great product (based on the initial pictures i took)!!!Update (10/30/2012): I would just like to share my experience upon ordering this canon 60d with 18-135 lens. I'm a first time user of DSLR so I didn't notice at once that there's a very small dent in the lens kit. I only noticed it when I removed its cap in front of the light. Note that I haven't used this outside my apartment and I've already attached a filter to protect it from any scratch.I've requested Amazon for a replacement and hopefully I can get a new one without any damage so I can update my feedback/review for this.

I'm not a pro but I know I good product and I know how to take the right picture for the circumstances. For over 10 years I used a Canon Rebel and really learned how to shoot from that camera. I since have given it to my 14 year old daughter to start a new hobby of photography. I then upgraded from the kit lens to a 50mm and then the 18-135 as my ability to manipulate light continued to grow. Well I finally decided to upgrade camera bodies after really wanting a larger screen and reading numerous reviews on the 60D. I'm glad I did. I am very glad I did. It has really improved my learning curve. I would have never considered an STM lens until I saw how much easier the video is to take and share from the camera. I got a great deal on a bundle as well on the 60D but not from Amazon, sorry! Get one you won't be dissappointed.

The 60D is perfect, i consider it the next step camera for those want to upgrade. No issues at all, allot of options and capabilities available. Sports action, events and quick burst works great and no issues with awesome quality pictures. The LCD flip and adjustment angle is a great option and used frequently. I don't have a desire or need to upgrade to a full frame, but if i did the 60D would still be on my side. I use and have rented the 24-105mm, 70-300mm, 50mm and 70-200 mm lens. The BG-E9 dual battery grip highly recommend and was bought through Amazon.

This is the forth Canon digital SLR i have purchased. I love them all and use them regularly , but i can already tell that this one is gonna be my favorite. It has some features and capabilities not found in earlier models. You will really like the fold-out display. and if you are a professional or a really dedicated amatuer, you will love this camera. I paid $999.00 from Amazon. I'm pleased with the price and really pleased with the camera

The camera is amazing and performes super. It is a little heaver than I like but nothing to offset the outstanding pictures I get. I have the 28-200 lens and with the stabilazation I get great sport shots as well as wildlife.

This is a great camera. The picture is crisp, the sound is great, the video is fluid. Only thing that is annoying is that you have to get a level 10 SD card for the camera to be able to work well. Outside of that, I love this camera. I know I need to get more lenses because I need it for the distance. This thing is well worth it and great.

I've been anticipating buying this camera ever since it came out. So far I'm very pleased, however, I was disappointed when several white specs started showing up on my dark background images. One large one always in the same spot. Which, after extensive research, led me to believe that there was dust on the sensor. I though, how is this possible? I only had the camera for a few days and I was very meticulous in putting on the brand new lens for the first time. . After doing a long programed sensor cleaning, problem was solved. No more white specs.I read the camera comes with "Dust Delete" software that maps out stubborn dust particles and eliminates them from your image, which will inevitably happen with frequent lens changes, but hey Canon, dust on a brand new sensor?

This camera is a great addition or upgrade from what I had before. I started off with the Canon Rebel T3 which is a great beginner camera. I needed something more professional so my girlfriend bought me this for christmas. Yes It was used but it looked new overall. No scratches and still takes awesome photos. I would recommend this camera to anyone looking to upgrade but if you ship do something other than standard. The mail here is by sups and they SUCK! It was in town a day early and claimed to be out for delivery but it took another day to get it here and even when it did it got here after 6pm! Anyway I chose this over the 7D because its only a knotch down from it in build quality but is basically the same camera. total buy

I've been using a Canon T2i for the past year or so to shoot mostly video. This is a great step up from the Rebel series. The body is much larger and just feels more natural in your hand.I would highly recommend this camera to anyone shooting photo or video on a affordable professional level.

Just upgraded to 60d from canon xsi. Saw some improvement in quality of the photos and low lite pics. Its heavier than the xsi but handles much better. The menus are easy to get to from the body buttons and make fast tweaking of the settings.I had tooooo much trouble with clipped highlights. Most of the time to aviod these I'd use my 430 flash and adjust the aperture to a smaller size. This just seems too much trouble and is more light sensitive than my xsi, even with htp set to on.The 18-135 is ok for outside or with a flash inside. many people will be content with the results. I prefer f2.8 or fasterThanks to Amazon for a easy full refund !

I guess I'm a Canon fan. My first camera was an AE-1 mostly shooting slides, then a PowerShot A620 which brought me into the digital age. I intended on not getting a DSLR, but even though the PowerShot serves me well, I needed more. I chose the 60D because of it's larger feel in hand, flip out LCD screen, HD video, and of course all the other abilities of a DSLR. This camera is awesome!

I am a photographer, professionally. My older cameras were starting to mess up. I broke down and bought this one. It was between this one and the 7d. I am very satisfied with this purchase. I do lots of sports action, and it takes awesome shots. I am contemplating updating my back up camera to one of these also.

I bought this as an upgrade from my well used entry level EOS Rebel XS. I am very happy with the quality of the camera and of the photos it produces. I added a Cannon Speedlight 430EXII and it makes the world of difference when shooting indoors. If you don't have a good flash, buy one.Many reviews I found online say that the body of the 60D feels cheap. Not true. The body is very solid. It isn't the tank the 7D is, but unless you are a pro who uses their equipment extremely heavily, the 60D should do everything you want. Go look at them side by side in a retail shop. It also costs $500 less than the 7D and with that money you could get a new flash or lens.
