This monitor is BEAUTIFUL. I've never owned a 1080p monitor before. I use it with my MacBook Pro, and it's amazing. The colors are nice and bright. Movies/pictures look absolutely incredible. I'm a producer, and don't use the onboard speakers, so I have nothing to say about them. Eventually, I'd love to add a second one of these to my setup! You can't beat this for $140.

This is a great monitor. I really wasn't sure what I was going to get when I ordered this but have been nothing but pleased and plan on adding a second one to my desktop in the near future. It is bright and crisp and has been running for about 3 weeks now without a single issue. The size couldn't be better as I think a 27" would just be too big for most people's uses. It is great for streaming movies and media and the dual HDMI is great as you can also use it as a TV hooked up via cable or a blu-ray/dvd player that has HDMI. Overall an excellent product and you won't be sorry if you were to order this monitor. Highly recommend.

Purchased this monitor to expand a workstation for animation and graphics. Did a lot of research and read a lot of bad reviews for other name brand products, then decided on this ViewSonic based on my experience with ViewSonic years ago. Also have BenQ and Samsung, with Samsung being the most disappointing. Out of the box this monitor is quick and easy to set up and works great. No problems at all.

monitor arrived in perfect shape, but when i plugged it in as VGA there was HORRIBLE flicker ! i tried to different macpro laptops and both were bad ! this monitor WASN'T shipped with an HDMI adapter but has a connection in the back for it so after i got the correct adapter i tried to hook HDMI up and it did NOT work ! neither HDMI port would feed a signal to my laptop.my girlfriend has the same brand, Viewsonic, and no problems with hers.i don't think i will order this brand again.

Viewsonic is well known in picture quality when it regards to monitor. I recently purchased this led monitor and I am pleased. The picture quality is great. LED consumed less electric which is good. It is so thin that is an A plus. My only concern here is that there is only two output ( VGA and HDMI output) I wished they put more options to be more flexible. Other than that this product is great. I will recommend this for all users who want a better quality and reasonable price.

I had an Acer which I purchased here in Florida in January of 2007. It served me well for 5 and one half years. I spent around $180.00 for a 20 inch model. I purchased this 22 inch Acer for a little over $125.00 and it gives me a much larger viewing windows for my work, files, and etc. I have been very happy with it.

I am very satified with the ViewSonic LCD monitor. The only problem I had was because of my video card. It was to old to handle the screen properly so the picture was not very good. After I updated the driver it was much better. I need to invest in a new video card. This is a very good monitor for the money and as an extended desktop or second monitor. This monitor is too bright and modify the colors so if you re going to use it for work and retouch photos and video beware that you could think you're doing it right and then you will print something different.

This 24" Viewsonic monitor is our fourth Viewsonic monitor over a period of about 18 years. Two CRTs, now two LCDs. All have been trouble free and with superb images. Our 17" CRT still produces as good an image as the day we bought it - about 10 plus years ago.

This is a really great monitor, especially for the price. The display looks good, is large, bright, high resolution, well-made, from a great manufacturer. I'm not a display expert so I can't say too much about it other than it replaced a cheaper smaller monitor and I've been really happy with it. I'm using it with a Apple Mac Mini MC815LL/A and generic HDMI cable. I just plugged it in and it was good to go! The display is thin and seems to run cool to the touch.

Good monitor and good size. Great for gaming and good for surfing internet. One small difficulty is navigating the screen functions, especially in darker environments. You have to feel yiur way thru the buttons on side. Otherwise great deal all-around.

After having uneven back light trouble with an Asus monitor from Amazon, I decided to return it and buy this ViewSonic monitor for the same price. Upon opening the box, this monitor immediately felt higher quality. It looked sleek and setup was very easy. I was also surprised to find a 6' HDMI cable inside!After connecting and turning on the monitor to my computer I was so thankful I had returned the previous monitor. The back light was even and extremely bright! Every time I come back to my desk and move the mouse, I am caught off guard by all the light coming at my eyes. Picture was sharp right out of the box and colors look phenomenal. True, the speakers included on this monitor are pretty bad sounding, but at least it comes with the option. The previous Asus monitor I had didn't even have them so I see this as a plus anyway. Any screen this thin will have pretty bad sounding speakers due to the laws of physics and small drivers. The main purpose of a monitor is for viewing, not listening. External speakers are a must for any desktop anyway. Also, no dead/stuck pixels! A stuck pixel developed in the Asus monitor within the first 6 hours. After having this for 48 hours, screen still looks impeccable.I am extremely happy with this buy! Viewing angles and back light are great! If you are looking for a good bang for your buck, I highly recommend this monitor. ViewSonic has been making monitors for a VERY long time. It is probably one of the oldest companies in the business. After seeing this product, I am now trustworthy of any monitor ViewSonic puts out onto the market.

The screen loses resolution and has to be reset when used as secondary display. I tried different configurations and different cables to connect and the problem persists. Also it takes a long time to wake from sleep, more than any other monitor I have owned. Some times when coming out of sleep it will flicker a few times before it can be used. Not recommendable.

I like the monitor, but had a little difficulty seeing how to rotate it. Easy enough, once I got the hang of it, but at first I thought there might be something that needed to be released. I didn't want to risk breaking anything, and a cryptic tag attached to the base referred to a bolt.So I sent a question via the technical support form.No response.Tried one to sales, thinking they might have an interest in a customer and could pass it on.No response.I was set to tackle phone support, but fortunately discovered the way it worked before embarking on that ordeal.So this would have been five stars, but they lost one for discourtesy.

I recently ordered this 24" LED, and I knew Viewsonic had a great reputation for quality The winning features were the HDMI input and the speakers. I think that the speakers were a bit of a disapointment, but they work well enough. The monitor itself is great and would recommend to anyone.

This viewsonic monitor arrived in 1st class condition. Just plug and play out of the box. I use this for e-mail and web browsing along with occassional Excel worksheets. I've had it operating for about two months and have no complaints. The colors are great, text is very clear.

I was looking for an "HDMI" display to attach to my notebook as a display replacement. Most of the ones I found where all 720p and a little more expensive, until I stumbled on to this one. It's perfect for a notebook/laptop with an HDMI port.I have a few critique's. I was hoping to mount the display to my wall, so I could get it off my desk. However, the back of the display doesn't have the 4-screw mount holes for a standard mount. Not a big problem because the stand is not bad, would have liked to have it a couple inches higher. Second, the built-in sound is not very good. My Sony Vaio notebook has better built-in sound. You will almost certainly want to add a sound bar. It does however, have audio-out on the back of the display. In my case, I can plug-in the HDMI cable to my laptop and don't need to fool with muiltiple cable attachements. Last, when I first plugged it in, the desktop was off the viewable area @ 1920x1080 but after going through the OSD menu to change the "input selection" to "HDMI1 PC", that fixed the issue.It is a very nice display. Bright, it has good controls. I had to scale-back the contrast/brightness. So far I am happy with it...

It is a good monitor - I just replaced my Viewsonic 28 Inch VX2835WM after 3 years and 6 months (warranty for the latter was 3 years) and it had some problems after 3 yrs and 6 months cost me like $60 to repair. was using dual monitors with the new one but i got fed up of dual monitors and sold the old one.Quality/Price/Warranty are the pros for this monitor - good image with HDMI inputscons: the buttons on the bottom right corner actually are in an awkward place - the old one they were easily accessible on the front.

Pros: Bright and clear picture with crisp and smooth text. Big. Cheap. 2ms response time, two HDMI inputs! It has made my job a whole lot easier, gaming more awesome and watching movies and TV shows more pleasant. All I use is my monitor for all my media, so it was about time I upgraded from a 19 inch! Now that having a bunch of windows open at the same time is part of my job, it became a crucial upgrade.Cons: I can see diagonal lines when I look at the screen from a certain angle, which I find strange. The contrast is not great, as you would expect from a lower priced monitor, but that doesn't really bother me because sitting in front of it is what I do. The base is pretty much average, and I don't like these new distracting blue lights on monitors, but at least you can turn it off. The first one I got had a little cluster of dead pixels, so I was happy to learn about ViewSonic's ZERO dead pixel policy within the first 30 days. Got an exchange with no hassle.For computers, set the input to HDMI-PC and you're good to go!

Nice display, don't see any dead pixels. Adjustable height stand sets this monitor apart from others in this price range.While the speakers are fairly loud in volume, the sound has no depth. Was hoping to have a less cluttered desk, but I had to use the desktop speakers. Wasn't expecting "rich" sound, but they weren't as good as I hoped. That being said, it appears to be a very good quality product.

Ive been gaming on this monitor for almost a month now...it has wicked fast response and took a little getting used to as my old monitor had some lag to it. There were no dead pixels and everything started up right away. I'm super happy with this bad boy.

This monitor would be fine for administrative work, but nothing else. The VGA port on the back has fried (it was turning the monitor off and on, off and on) and hence I'm now using the HDMI port which if you don't know is awful for text, just awful. The color shifts from the top to the bottom and isn't accurate. I know, it's not truly meant for the task but it's for my home work station away from my studio so I thought I'd try. It's now essentially an unreliable monitor and I cannot return it or exchange it.If you're doing spreadsheets or anything else that doesn't deal with clear text or accurate color, it would be fine.

If this isn't my first review, it's my 2nd(Pt is, I dn't write reviews). The display on this screen(27" LED)Is unbelievable. It rose my gameplay to whole new level(Battlefield 3, Skyrim, MW3).Whether I'm connected to my laptop through the VGA cable or my playing with my PS3 with an HDMI cable, the extra landscape is phenomenal and the level of details is uncanny(30,000,000:1 MEGA Dynamic Contrast Ratio). I thought I saw a jack in the back for external speakers but I've been so busy admiring the display that I haven't had the chance to test it. I bring that up because you are really going to want to use external speakers instead of this monitor's built in speakers. Kudos to Amazon for being so fast(ordered on Friday morning arrived on Monday. I might have been able to pick up on Saturday if UPS was open). Do yourself a favor and treat yourself for Christmas. Even older games come alive on this monitor(regardless of your graphic card). Netflix is a pleasure on it as well....

The 1080HD visual on the screen is fantastic - clear, bright and high resolution. Much better than its Viewsonic predecessor 2 years ago.Automatically fit computer image into 1920 x 1080 screen... no borders on the side.Very thin and light, and aesthetically appealing.The speaker is integrated... nice thought and design, but the sound is not big even if you maximize the volume (after installing the software driver on the accompanying CD).

Overall good value based on price, set up was easy and the picture quality is great. Was disappointed in the sound quality as the speaker volume is very limited and to really use as an AV device it will require external speakers.

Easy to play with and set up... just REMEMBER that this one does NOT have a DVI connector in the back. HDMI (2 ports provided) is the way to go anyway and if you need to plug in an old laptop to it there is a VGA spot in the back. I can't say enough good things about this monitor. Picture is oustanding, the screen size is enourmous, the profile is so skinny you wonder if there's anything behind that darn good looking screen, the specs on it are top notch, did I mention it was easy to set up??? I love it when I just have to take something out of the box, plug it in and presto! It works as expected. The only drawback is I purchased it for $329 and now I hear the price is $299 (Bummer). You can't go wrong with this monitor. It is a TREMENDOUS value for $299 and it draws only HALF the watts of my old 22" ViewSonic monitor (which is still going strong after 3+ years) to boot. I'm saving trees and the ozone layer baby!!! ViewSonic RULES!!!

Like other reviewers, I had problems with washed out color when I first got this monitor. I played with the adjustments on the monitor itself for hours and was not able to fix the problem, and I thought I was going to have to return it.It turns out that the problem was with the way the color is processed over HDMI. I changed the digital color output on my video card from RGB to YCbCr444, and the color problem went away: now the display is beautiful. I'm running a GTX560ti, and for me this setting was in the nVidia control panel.In spite of finally being able to fix the problem, I'm giving the monitor four stars because if it had a DVI input I never would have had this problem in the first place. Also, the big white lettering on the lower left hand corner of the monitor is really ugly, and the speakers are worthless.Still, I'm happy overall and I'll be keeping the monitor.

I use this with my Toshiba Laptop with HDMI... it's fantastic.It took awhile to get the settings just right (the resolution in the laptop) *BECAUSE* the monitor was set to AV mode so it wouldn't go into 1080p and fill the screen. Took me about 6 hours to figure that out.The menu is stupid and frustrating but I don't use it outside of the initial setup. The speakers, are near useless - but I had some speakers laying around, so no biggie.So, just make sure you have some way replace the speakers on this thing unless you are using it in a office or something - they are horrible.Great Monitor though, my wife is jealous, probably going to have to get her one too soon.

The monitor has extremely good resolution and reminds me of an apple. sharp with excellent color. Also,the accompanying disk had an easy setup for those without the high res drivers. The sound was a little low but my computer and power supply are older. I purchased to use with options trading platforms. works great!!!!thank you

Both of my matching viewsonic 27' monitors have failed and the second failed shortly out of warranty. Their customer service sucks. The first repair required I pay for shipping to have it repaired. OK, I did that. Now with the warrant recently expired, the same all green screen problem happened to the second monitor, but they won't cover the repair. Telling me it's not a known issue.What are the odds that both of my ViewSonic 27" monitors have the same problem and it's not a failure of product quality control?All I can say is don't buy ViewSonic! They care not about your consumer experience!

I had received a Dead On Arrival dud (from a third party seller on Amazon), so my comment addresses only the monitor appearance, not performance.For background, I already have a ViewSonic VX2250WM-LED 22-Inch (21.5-Inch Vis) Widescreen Full HD 1080p LED Monitor with Integrated Stereo Speakers. I am a big fan of that 2250 model, like many others on Amazon. I purchased this model, VX2253, because I need a 2nd monitor and thought the HDMI connections and slightly better tech specs (e.g., brightness) would offer superior performance.Unfortunately, I couldn't get my new VX2253 monitor to power up, so I had to return it. But I am glad I got to return it because I really disliked the cheap-looking dull-color (black) plastic covering. The screen is nestled inside that black plastic covering, sort of like a flat dish resting inside a bowl. Not only did that make the monitor look ugly compared to my VX2250, I thought it would be hard to clean. I did like the fact that the power light indicator is less conspicuous than the annoyingly bright blue button on my ViewSonic 2250, but the actual power on/off button is a touch-style button (not what you physically depress up/down) on the right side - I didn't like that either.Also, neither the VX2253 (the monitor being reviewed) or the VX2250 is height-adjustable. The only ViewSonic models that have adjustable heights are the models with "VG" in front of the model number, and the price difference is about the same as a new monitor stand that allows you to do that and more. Unfortunately, I don't think you can mount this VX2253 model on a new monitor stand, because it does NOT have those VERSA screw holes on the back. The VX2253 also felt heavier.I'm really puzzled why no one else has submitted any reviews for this monitor. I hope mine will help interested customers out there as they shop around.

This monitor is excellent. I do IT for a software company and I just finished installing our 4th one of these in the past 6 months. For the price, it is hard to find a better deal. So far we have not had any problems. I also purchased a couple of Acer monitors at the same time and had to return both because of a stuck pixel in both, but we haven't had issues with these. I highly recommend these if you are looking for a good monitor on a budget.

As an owner of a 13 inch Macbook pro (which I love), I've been getting really annoyed about the small amount of screen real-estate. As a college student, it's uber annoying to be trying to get a PDF of the assignment, the word window where I'm doing the assignment, and the powerpoint I'm referring to all on one screen (actually, it's impossible). When minimizing and unminimizing windows, I often click the wrong one, and end up getting sidetracked from my homework. With this monitor, I can open two windows, and have the third window open on the macbook screen, making me WAY more productive as I can see everything I need to all at once. It's an awesome setup!!! Did I need this uber of a monitor to achieve this? Heck no! But am I super glad I ponied up the extra money for this ballin' monitor? You bet!! Watching HD movies (after all my homework is done of course) has never been better. To any college student who needs more screen real estate (aka every college student), or anyone else looking for a super beautiful monitor, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this or any Viewsonic monitor. Any specific questions, feel free to leave a comment.

I got this monitor at work as an external monitor on a 27" iMac because the glare on the iMac was causing eye strain. When I connected it I was quite concerned because the iMac didn't offer 1920x1080 resolution for this monitor. I am using a mini display port to HDMI adapter since this monitor does not have DVI inputs. After 30 minutes searching the internet I found no resolution for this so I contacted ViewSonic support and they told me how to fix it right away and after I followed these instructions the monitor is working perfectly in 1920x1080 resolution.1. Press the [1] button to display the OSD menu.2. Use the up/down button to select INPUT SELECT. Press the [2] button to confirm.3. Use the up/down button to select HDMI1-PC.4. Press [2] to enable function.5. Press the [1] button twice to save and exit.I would highly recommend this monitor.

Resolution did not go to 1920 x 1080 without screen going off the monitor. Other monitors work at that resolution on computer. Screen blinks as well. Got expert help, called their support line, tried multiple connections/input/outputs, etc. Nothing was able to fix it.

I bought this monitor for two purposes, to use with my Xbox 360 and as a computer monitor. The monitor has two HDMI inputs and one RGB input so I can use one HDMI for the Xbox 360 and drive the second HDMI (and/or the RGB) input with the my laptop. I originally was provided with a bad HDMI cable (Amazon immediately processed my return request - no questions asked) but, once the cable was replaced, the monitor has really delivered! It automatically switches modes and inputs (video or computer) and has a very bright and clear display. I especially like the integrated picture frame stand. Overall, a great product.

This monitor would not connect to my iMac or my MacBook pro. I used a Cables to Go DVI-D male/male cable and a Startech MDP2DVI converter. I reset the SMC, and powered up the computer and display both ways all to no avail. The monitor would power on OK but then said no signal. I know that it is a monitor problem because I've since got an Acer monitor (S231HL) and it works fine with the same cable and converter. Amazon paid for return shipping, and picked it up less than 24 hours after I requested a return. Is that service or what?

Got my Viewsonic monitor to run my Ps3 and Acer laptop through and it's been a total success. Brilliant colors, perfect picture (no dead pixels, yay!) and plenty of inputs. Just a few cons....1. Speakers. . . Not much to say. Flatscreen speakers, what do you expect? Volume control is a pain and movies are very hard to hear without external speakers/headphones.2. Probably a connection problem but the screen goes black for a few seconds every once in a while.Despite these small flaws it works brilliantly and I totally recommend it. Having 1080p res with multiple HDMI inputs allows me to have all kinds of fun with all my media sources!

I would strongly advise against purchasing this monitor. I picked it up new/unopened from a local retailer and it was missing one of the AC cables that's needed to plug in the AC transformer, so I couldn't power up the unit and had to retun it to the store to prove it was missing.Oddly enough they did include a Europen style AC power plug in the box, one that can't be used in the USA, so I initially though the retailer sold me an opened item, but as it turns out I was not the only one who returned this same unit who suffered the the same issue.THe retailer gave me a replacement adapter and I took the monitor home.I finally got it powered up and the picture was horrible over HDMI. Worse yet you can't adjust the picture's sharpness, H hold etc, becasue they are grayed out when using HDMI. Not sure why. But the wost feature of this monitor is that it has an eco friendly feature that dims the display each time you change between windows. It's exteemely annoying and can't be shut off.I returned the ViewSonic and purchased the ASUS VE278 and it's great!

The monitor is usable but I would not purchase it again or recommend it. I have two major issues with it:1. It makes a humming noise that is noticeable in a quiet room. The noise becomes much louder if the screen is displaying mostly white areas. Then, I find the noise very annoying.2. The screen colors and contrast are not as good as my five year old Samsung monitor. Playing with the screen menu settings didn't improve it much.The speakers are also weak but this I was expecting.
