This is a really mediocre display with the worst speakers I have ever heard in my life (the free earbuds they give out at the airport are better). It feels flimsy and cheaply made, I felt like I was going to break the thing in half by adjusting the little kickstand thing. This is the first non-clothing item I have ever returned, hopefully the last.

Overall this display is a decent deal - good price, good picture and color quality, has 2 HDMI and 1 VGA inputs. A nice touch is that it comes with all the cables you need -- HDMI, VGA and 3 mm audio.My main issue is that it's not wall mountable. I researched this online before buying, including downloading and perusing the User Guide from the Viewsonic website. The User Guide Table of Contents has a section titled "Wall Mounting (Optional)", so I assumed it was an option. I didn't bother reading the section before buying. Unfortunately once the monitor arrived I didn't see how it would be wall mountable. So I went looking for that section in the User Guide and sure enough it wasn't there on page 7 like the TOC said. It's is apparently a typo :-(.The second issue is that I cannot get sound to work using HDMI. I've tried using both HDMI ports as well as different HDMI cables to no avail. I chatted with Viewsonic support who suggested re-setting the display, which didn't work either. The workaround is to use the audio cable. That works fine but defeats one of the key reasons for using HDMI in the first place - namely 1 cable for both video and audio.All in all I think it's an average display and an average deal - you get what you pay for.

I purchased this monitor so that I could work from home more efficiently. The picture and size are perfect to view my work files via remote connection. My desk contains a shelf so I have limited height clearance, so I was glad to have the 'picture frame stand' - my monitor now fits perfectly in the space. Great colors, bright screen. Easily connected to my laptop via HDMI connection. I feel like I now have a brand new computer!

This monitor was pretty much plug and play, the picture is crisp. I like the 2 usb ports, I do with they were on the side instead of the back though. A great monitor for the money

Not sure why this only has a vga port on it but i had to buy a hdmi to dvi for my computer and was annoyed. Plus i have the same type of monitor from ViewSonic (but DVI) and it seems to be clearer than this... Not sure if this has something to do with the screen or the connection but disappointed.

Being an ole' systems engineer since 1978 and supporting as many as 30 clients at a time my duties required me to purchase equipment for my large customers. I never did find any real good quality computers so I ended up building the computers custom for my clients BUT I did find Viewsonic monitors back in the mid 90's and have been using them ever since. To date I have never had a problem, and neither have my clients. I will continue to recommend Viewsonic as a top brand that is reliable. I did have one problem but that was a refurbished monitor and I was not aware of this fact at the time. I must have sold well over a hundred and recommended even more.

I like everything about this monitor. If I needed to do so, I would be it again. Great form, great colors, I'm giddy about the ability to change the screen orientation from landscape to portrait with just a couple of mouse clicks.I've been a loyal ViewSonic customer for years and this monitor does does not disappoint. I, quite honestly, cannot think of a single negative thing to say about it.

This is easy enough to set up and the price is great. But using the HDMI input from my computer the image is fuzzy on the screen, regardless of the resolution I set. The problem seems to disappear when I use the VGA input, but my computer didn't have a VGA output, so I had to buy an adapter at extra cost.

Overall I am pretty pleased with this product. Now that I feel comfortable with it I have to buy it officially by taking the plastic protective coatings off of the frame and base, and registering the product online.This is a great buy. Hopefully I will be able to find this same model in six months and purchase another. This monitor is everything it is stated to be graphically, the sound set up is another matter (nightmare). This product will help to keep your house cool in the summer due to LED technology; and help to reduce your electric consumption. You really have to feel the chassis to search for heat given off. The screen has no pixel flaws, the color is vibrant and crisp.Shipping was a flash from PA to OH, received it in 2 days. This is a real feather in the weight category. When I got the delivery I wondered what could be in this large box that seemed to weigh about 7lbs.The set up was easy. I like the butterfly screw that is used to connect the base to the monitor, no screwdrivers needed. I loaded the CD that came with it and installed the monitor driver only at first. The speakers will not work by themselves, you need to install a sound application that becomes you primary sound source. After installing the "SRS_PremiumSound_Monitor_x64" application the speakers still did not work. Reading the instructions you have to go through a long drawn out process just for these speakers to work- VERY POOR DESIGN on the part of the SRS team who implemented the sound portion of this monitor system. As yet I still have no sound from the speakers on the monitor. I reverted back to a simpler sound system that does not require an electrical degree to figure out how to get this products speakers to work. I really don't have a week of reading the sound instructions line per line just to try to figure out how to get the speakers to work. This is a consumer product which should be designed as uncomplicated as possible for setting up its components.Viewsonic rates an "A" for the Graphics and rate an "F" for the Sound. If there is anyone who has figured out how to get the sound to work please inform others, there will be a lot of displeased customers of this product.

My Viewsonic Monitor is everything that was advertised. The pixels are tight and the picture, therefore, is excellent. I have no complaints and it performs (daily) as advertised.

This is an excellent monitor considering what it offers. I am a person who sticks to a brand which delivers high quality and is worth using for several years. In monitors I prefer Sony, ViewSonic or HP. I have been using Sony SDM-S95DR LCD 19 inch monitors for almost several years in the office. Even Samsung is doing great in monitor/screens but somehow I have a negative feeling/experience about this brand and it cannot be compared with brands like Sony. I got this for my personal from Micro-Center ($208 including tax) for use at home and is just wonderful and saves hell lot of space. I reviewed this product on Amazon / Internet and then thought of going for it.Pros:1. Amazing resolution 1920x1080p.2. No hassle installing the product. I am using Win 7 and installed the software in CD came with the box.3. Ultra-Thin for sure in it's competition.4. 2 HDMI ports and 1 VGA (D-Sub) port available with IN and OUT sound ports.5. Also like the feature where you can place the monitor like a photo-frame. Just pull slowly the lever from the back and place it on the desk. No need to install the stand.6. About looks: It's decent and pretty professional looking. I really don't like those glossy girly frames.Cons:1. It has in-built speaker, but the volume is damn low at it's high setting. But I really don't care as I prefer separate speakers. This is why I snatched 1 star from the rating. But considering an ultra thin model this is what we should expect.Additional information:If you use HDMI connection, couple of menus will be disabled. Also if you experience your picture being crossing the screen then you may have to select HDMI from the Input Selection from Menus. Menus like Auto image adjust and couple more are grayed-out/disabled with HDMI connection. It's the behavior and not a fault.Also note that this is a LED Backlit LCD monitor. These day manufacturers usually call "LED Backlit LCD" display as "LED" display.The most selling on Amazon is ViewSonic VX2450WM as compared to this but VX2450WM has no HDMI and this has 2 HDMI connections with 1 D-Sub and is ultra thin.Update: March 15th 2012 12:22 PM ESTYou cannot rotate the monitor after installing the stand. Not a disadvantage for me because I don't keep on changing the position of my monitor. As it's weight is very light, moving/rotating the whole monitor position is very easy. These aren't those huge CRT like monitors where you really need those rotating stands.Crisp quality and saves space, absolutely no issues faced till date. 100% recommended.Cheers.

LED is crap. And very grainy. Colors are not rich at all, everything looks like it's in pastel.Unfortunately the bloody thing works, and with my luck will perform like a champion for some 7+ years until I've forgotten howawesome my viewsonic 30" LCD looked with its 2500x1600 res and ultra rich color. If I'd bought this locally, you wouldnt even be reading this review, cause I would have returned this thing so fast. If you take nothing else away from this review take this: Stay away from LED monitors if you have an eye for detail, be it in gaming or movies or graphics applications. LED monitors are crap (visually).

I was very enthused when this beauty arrived. It looked so sleek, thin and cool. Then I turned it on. I adjusted and played with every setting. I updated the drivers on my video card. Nothing helped. The screen real estate would not fill to the edge of the monitor. No matter which setting I used, there was always a black border sometimes thick sometimes thin between the picture and the edge of the monitor. This turned the 24" monitor into a 21" or 22" monitor. Then there was the fuzzy text. Again, regardless of the setting the text was for want of a better word fuzzy. This was especially true using QuickBooks, an application that I constantly use for my business. Some of the names of customers were so blurry that letters seem to merge and the edges of the text were just blurred. I endured this monitor for 25 days to see if things would get better or if I could figure out some setting that would solve the problem. Then it went back in the box and back to Amazon. I replaced this disappointment with a Samsung that I purchased at Costco. The display model looked good in the store and the real thing is even better.

I've had this monitor in my room for about almost 11 months and it's still working like new! I've been mostly using this monitor to play PS3 games and it's been displaying great images and resolution. The size of the monitor (24 inch) is not too small nor too big for gaming and watching movies by yourself in a small room.The only small complaint I have for this monitor -- as many reviewers have commented already -- is the speaker (hence the minus one star in my rating). It SUCKS. Unless you're using it in the middle of the night and want to keep things quiet, the speakers are terrible. I say "small" complaint because this issue can be easily solved by connecting external speakers to the monitor.Highly recommended!

This monitor is quite nice. Sharp picture, very thin and very light.Only significant negative is the lack of VESA mounts on the back. It can only be used with their foot.

I bought this monitor several months ago, so I thought I'd finally return and give my review of what I feel is a good product. At first I struggled with it because I couldn't get my screen to auto adjust. I searched and searched for some complicted reason... reinstalled my drivers tried just about everything... and then I realized that the monitor was defaulting to non PC input. You can go to the side panel and adjust it.I'm taking off one star for this. If I'd written this review a few months ago I'd have taken off several, but now that I've seen just how brilliant this monitor is other than that, I feel it still merits my 4 star rating.SpeakersLots of people complain about monitor speakers knowing beforehand that they are going to be subpar. The speakers in this monitor are no exception; however, here's a neat trick if you're trying to get a little more volume out of them.Go to your sound icon on the bottom right of your screen, right click on it and go to playback devices. Click the VX2753 series and go to properties. Go to the enhancements tab and click Loudness Equalization. I'm not sure why this works, maybe it realizes which videos etc.. you are watching that are not very loud, but it does!DesignSome have said that the large black bezel in the front is annoying, but I must say that while working, the screen is so large, that I personally don't even notice it. Also for me the book stand feature is a little dificult to use. I would have preferred VESA mounting holes for sure.

If you want a high quality 24 inch LCD monitor, you should save your money for a Dell UltraSharp. With LED monitors, the screens are unnecessarily brighter than human eyes can bear. I used this monitor to read excel documents and it gave me eye strains after just 15 minutes. In addition, since the monitor is only 23 inch long diagonally, it cuts off your screen size when you are using a HDMI cable. I was forced to use regular VGA cable to get true screen size but it completely defeats the purpose of having a high resolution monitor.Some advice for people who want to use this monitor to read work documents: avoid LED monitors and go for a regular Dell UltraSharp LCD monitor. It costs more but definitely gives you better resolution and easier screen time.

Before you read this review, understand that I like to do a lot of gaming and that I did a lot of background research on this.In the past, some view sonic things that I have gotten have been unreliable. Now this begs the question "why did you get this?" Well, I did a lot of research, and this has a big color dynamic, (30 mill to 1) and this ended up being my first choice. Also, this is not just specifically for gaming. It works great for work to. So, all in all, this was a great get.

I use this as computer monitor with a mac mini. Recommend VGA hookup for text; for video, use hdm1 or better yet mini dp with adapter on mac mini plus your own earphones as the monitor speakers are subpar, compared to say Apples I tried in store.nice resolution, using SwitchRes X to get the full 1920 by 1080 Res, and use for better text the VGA, not HDM1. For improved visuals, matte needed on black frame as well with the windows I have behind me, but the matte screen itself is good. If screen is matte, so should be the frame. The shine is distracting as I use this computer to earn my living from (and need to focus), only secondarily for entertainment, hooking up mac mini to TV set for internet sports etc.I use earphones so don't use the speakers and can not comment on the sound quality of the speakers. But for individual video/audio (sports, movies, you-tube, and talk radio) useful as is with earphones. you would probably want bigger screen for multiple person use; I use a 47 inch TV for that with the same mac mini hooked up to this computer-use only monitor. there is a special CD included which improves the audio, so try to install that if you want better audio, it was included with the monitor.Would definitely buy from this company again, support was caring and responsive when I called, product very good to excellent esp for the money vs. Apple screen. (under $200 vs $1000).Update: I tried to use the CD to improve the speaker experience and got the message "You can't open the application 0S9 ViewSonic because the Classic environment is no longer supported." from my mac mini, so depending on your system you may or may not be able to improve the speakers. So alternatives are to use your headphones, or external speakers if you need sound that much.

The pricing on this monitor seemed too good to be true. Under $200 for a full HD 24" monitor, Mac and PC ready, calibration tools and premium sound speakers? Well, indeed it does have all those things but they are all sub-adequate in my opinion. Speakers are terrible. The surround sound plug-in apparently does not exist for Mac - at least that's what two ViewSonic support personnel told me. I found an old one on-line however. Sound is still bad. I can't believe they call it SRS Premium Sound. There is nothing premium about it. The screen is not as bright as some reviews suggest. I went through all the adjustments I could. Apparently when tied to the Mac via HDMI you are limited on what you can change in the set-up. I spoke with 3 different support individuals and hit a dead end trying to improve the picture quality. Viewing text on the screen is only so-so. Much better on my 13" MacBook Air screen. I guess I have to spend close to a grand on a big 27" Cinema display to get good quality. I'm disappointed to say the least but this was an inexpensive monitor. I'll see if I can use it as a back up TV otherwise I'll send it back.Update: I achieved some minor improvements with VGA for text as was mentioned in another review. For the money, it's ok. Bumped up to 3 stars.

Pros-Amazing picture. The people saying the resolution or color is bad probably have bad video cards.-Good adjustment controls-Plug and play with zero problems-Backup speakers/headphone jack-Good priceCons-DUST MAGNET!! The slick black surfaces on the edges/stand make dust, hair, and finger prints extremely visible. Needs cleaning weekly. I had a Viewsonic CRT for 10 years and I NEVER had to clean the plastic because it was a rough white surface that didn't smudge when touched. I can't stand this new slick finish.-Wobbles when typing/moving mouse fast.-I don't need widescreen. The only reason I need widescreen is to watch DVDs. I don't watch DVDs. This isn't a TV. I'm a gamer. When I play games, the pixels are stretched. If anything, I would want a monitor that is taller more than wider. Why? Because websites scroll up and down, not side to side. Like I said, computers are not TVs.

Love the monitor/display and would buy it for the price i got just for that part, but the speakers are even worse than i thought they would be from reading bad reviews. If you plan to use these speakers you will have problems hearing some videos well...

I've had Viewsonics before and have always liked them. This one is no different. It only has an HDMI input but then one of my Mac Mini's only has an HDMI output. What's going on, seems like maybe HDMI is here to stay. I use a KVM so it doesn't matter much.

This monitor is a big improvement on the 22" LCD monitor that I have been using. I am using a two monitor configuration for my multimedia work. The image resolution and color balance is so much superior to the LCD Monitor that I paired it with, that I just had to order another Viewsonic VA2231WM-LED 22-Inch Widescreen LED Monitor to have a balanced pair. You just can't go wrong with this choice, especially given the price and service from Amazon. That you Amazon.

I bought this monitor for work and it has served its purpose very well. I connect my Mac laptop to the monitor which makes it easier for me when I'm working on documents and files. I like the fact that you can adjust the base to meet your needs. The swivel motion of the monitor comes in handy. The vertical view of the monitor worked well when I needed to view long spreadsheets.The only issue I've had with it so far is when my computer is on sleep mode. After waking the computer, the monitor has a screen full of static (like a scrambled tv channel). Once I turn off the monitor and back on again, the problem goes away. It's a minor problem that doesn't bother me.

Very pleased with my Viewsonic Monitor. Excellent color, quality, and very small footprint. Did a lot of research prior to buying the Viewsonic to replace an older Dell and very happy with my purchase. Wsould highly recommend.

I bought two of these screens and have not been disappointed at all. I use these in my tax practice so it is nice to have the speakers built in. The are very clear. The only thing I did not know when I purchased them is the input is either DVI or RGB-PC. There is not an input for HDMI. With the availability of different conversion cables, this is not a huge issue.

I've had two of these now. The first one worked for about 2 weeks, then started blinking on and off. Returned to Amazon, who sent out a replacement immediately. I've had it less than 48 hrs and it just suddenly turned itself off. Checked plugs, video card, ect. and all were fine. In about 15 minutes, it suddenly powered back up. Then after 5 minutes, it went off again. I think Amazon should withdraw these from sale. Actually it's a shame because when it worked, it gave a very clean, sharp image- beautiful. That's why I gave it two stars.
