The clarity, color, resolution and response time for this monitor are all very impressive. I use this monitor daily for work. The full-HD resolution is awesome. The colors are extremely vibrant and clear. My son plays Warcraft on this monitor and for gaming the response times are noticeably better than with the older 720p monitor that I was using. The whites are *true* whites unlike the older LCD 720p monitor that I was using. Overall, very happy with this purchase and I would highly recommend this monitor to anyone.

I have had this monitor for several months and it is still working great. I use it daily at my office and it stays on all day and night. It works with a computer sleep mode fine too. Very clear and enables multiple documents to be worked on at the same time.

This LED momitor has performed flawlessly for the past year. It has a great resolution and was a snap to set-up. The only downside is the stand is not as stout as it should be. This will not be a problem if you are not gaming with it. A good value for the money.

The picture on this monitor is great. I upgraded to be able to view HD home movies, and it works great. I have to have the HDMI input set to AV instead of PC in order to fill the screen which is odd, but easily done and forgotten through the menu. Can't speak to the response time as I'm not really a gamer, but the screen is great at glare-reduction, which makes up for the fixed base and not being able to move it around to reduce glare. If you plan to use the built-in speakers, they are horrible beyond belief, as others have noted. The volume is controlled through the same menu as the other settings, so adjusting the volume on the monitor is a pain scrolling through the menu, select, select, change volume, exit, exit. Though I'd have bought the monitor even without built-in speakers, it seemed an added plus to help unclutter my desk, and I really don't have the need for sounds too often (I am content with the cheap speakers that came free with my old computer.) However, it sounds like you are listening to an old office intercom in a bathroom stall through a tin can. There is absolutely NO bass to speak of, and they are mousey and quiet. I'm listening to a new CD I just ripped, and it's almost pointless as it will sound completely different (and better) anywhere else it is so flat. It's probably good for office programs to communicate to you when you've bolloxed something, but not anything for enjoyment.

I am returned this product, as the description is incorrect. It clearly states that this monitor is Macintosh compatible. This could not be farther from the truth. When you read the manual that comes with the monitor it says Macintosh computers before G3 will need an adaptor. Well... That doesn't do it either. I have spent hours on the phone with ViewSonic - who are useless. They flat out would not tell me what adaptors I needed saying "It is a personal choice." Then they told me they do not have any drivers for Macintosh and you ned to contact Apple. Apple does not have anything but a work around, which did not work in this case. When I asked viewsonic why they list this as a Macintosh compatible computer, I was told "Because it might work with some of them." Even my IT Specialist could not get it to work!Basically many many hours later, several cable purchases later and fees from my IT Specialist, this monitor will not work with my Macintosh and likely no other systems that are pre G3.After the way ViewSonic responded, I would NEVER buy another of their products ... EVER!!!!

Love this monitor, and love the price. Beautiful colors, sharp picture. If you don't need a built-in camera or microphone, just the monitor, this is a great choice. Originally I was hoping that the built-in speakers would be as good as they advertised, but sadly this is not the case, so they only get 4 stars. The speakers are mediocre and the software for premium sound does not work on Apple brand computers. Perhaps that's why the sound isn't that good, but it doesn't get very loud either. I've got an Altec external speaker system that sounds like a dream, and I would recommend not relying on the internal speakers if you want to listen to music. Also, when the monitor awakens from sleep mode, it takes an unusually long several seconds before it responds and the picture appears. But the picture is quite nice, you won't be disappointed.

I've been using it for a few weeks now and its great. It was hard to set up though, it wasn't set to pc mode orn the hdmi so you have to switch it once set it up. The display looks really crisp and the colors seem good. The viewing angle is pretty good, but if you're not looking at it too directly, the colors get distorted a little bit. But overall, its still fine. The matte display is much better than a glossy one because there no reflection at all on it. That's really good because the reflections are distracting and get in the way when you are working. The size is also awesome, 24 inches is the sweet spot for monitors. Plus its really thin so it saves space and looks nice. I couldn't be happier with this monitor!

I recently dumped my 32" 720p LCD tv which I was using as a monitor.I decided on this Viewsonic for a number of reasons. Mainly because it was the best quality in my price range.The LED display is amazing. Such an improvement over my old LCD. Full HD is just amazing...I can't believe it took this long for me to upgrade!My only complaint (and reason for 4 out of 5 stars) is the speakers. This was a major selling point for me since I also planned to use the monitor with my HD satellite box. The speakers sound hollow and distant. A very big disappointment, but I guess it's time I upgraded to proper speakers anyway.Here's my breakdown.Pros:-LED looks amazing.-Easily switch between two different inputs.-Ability to dump the traditional stand and prop it up.Cons:-Sound quality is horrible.-No simple volume control (have to use the screen menu and go through a few options).-No easy way to switch between sound inputs (again have to go through the menu options).In the end, I am disappointed I cannot really use this with my satellite, but I know that's not a problem with the product.Overall I'm very happy with this monitor.

I purchased a Viewsonic VX2753MH-LED 27-Inch LED Monitor in December 2011 and have used it now for a couple weeks.As monitors go, I am quite pleased with it. It was easy to install and worked flawlessly from the start. Earlier in the year I purchased a Viewsonic VX2453MH-LED 24-Inch LED monitor but I wanted something larger. The new owner of that 24 inch unit is very pleased with it.The picture quality is 5 stars with fantastic contrast and bright colors. Before purchasing, I read one review claiming that their picture is washed out but that is not my experience.My only negative comment is related to sound quality. The output volume level is quite low with poor fidelity. The sounds from my cell phone speakers are louder and clearer then sound from the monitor's speakers.I think that the description on their website overstates the sound experience significantly; "...With built-in SRS surround-sound speakers with stereo sound, this super-big screen is complete with the perfect audio experience." (Product spec sheet found at [...]).Their marketing folks need to be a little more honest when describing the sound attributes. Luckily I don't need to use the speakers anyway.I really like the monitor's picture quality. I would have rated the monitor 5 stars had the sound quality met what was claimed in their spec sheet. If the price drops below $300.00 again, I will purchase one or two more 27" monitors and connect them together.

Not many people have a 27" monitor on their desk. This product is exceptionally bright and clear. Buttons to the right of the unit should have been explained before purchase. Paperwork that comes with the unit is substandard. Packaged well. Easy to install. I favor a desktop over a laptop for home use, so this monitor is perfect.

This monitor would certainly get 5 stars if it was not so flawed. Any bump or movement to the power cord causes this unit to power off. The jack is faulty. Bad design. Because of this the monitor is not worth purchasing. Do not buy it.

The power cord would not stay plugged into the Monitor, thus no power. Bad plug on the monitor?? This is the second Viewsonic I have had with similar "power" problems. My last 5 monitors have all been Viewsonic, but I will not buy this brand again.

The monitor look nice.The image quality is fair. Sounds quality is very poor and volumen is deficient to say the least. To get to the volumen control you have to go through several steps in tbe menu. It is quite frustrating when you have to do that every time you want to turn it up or down.

I have a new MBP 15" 2012 and wanted a monitor to use at home when I need more desktop space. This worked flawlessly upon first connection. The colors and controls are exactly what I was looking for and the resolution and size couldn't meet my needs any better.

I read all the reviews before buying, the overwhelming majority of which were very positive. Most of the bad reviews seemed to be people that didn't have them set up or adjusted correctly; a few of the techies that had commented seemed to varify that some simple adjustments made all the difference. I've been buying ViewSonic monitors for years and have never been dissappointed so I was confident in making my purchase.I've had my monitor for about two weeks now and I'm totally happy with it. I had to get an HDMI to DP adaptor since my video cards don't have HDMI output; but that seems to work fine. The setup was pretty much plug-and-play; Windows7 picked it up immeadiately as did my ATI software. The picture was a little too bright and the text a bit fuzzy out of the box, but after a day or two of tweaking the brightness and contrast to my liking, the picture is now clear and crisp with just the right amount of brightness. The VX2753mh-LED is the center of three monitors (the others are ViewSonic VX2235wm-LCD) all running on two ATI Radeon HD6450 video cards with 1GB video memory each. The VX2753mh-LED comes out of sleep quickly and up to normal clearity and brightness immeadiately, ahead of the other two LCD monitors. AutoCAD has never looked so good, and with 27" of screen I can see so much more of my drawing!!! The LED's are so superior and energy efficient, I'm now replacing my two 22" LCD monitors with the VX2453mh-LED's.Best Buy had the monitor listed at the same price, but wasn't in stock locally. Using my Amazon VISA points, free shipping, and no sales tax made Amazon the best deal by a long shot. ...go Amazon!!

I purchased this monitor and ran into nothing but problems with the image quality when it was connected to an early 2011 MacBook Pro 13" - until I switched from a "mini-Display Port to HDMI" cable to a "mini-display port to D-SUB" cable. At first I thought the monitor was not compatible with the MacBook Pro. That is the case when it comes to the HDMI cable. However, I went to several stores and plugged in my MacBook Pro into the back of many of their monitors and most wouldn't provide a good picture quality - another that didn't was the HP2711x. Two that did well but the image wasn't as good (I didn't perform any calibration on these so maybe they're as good or better?): Samsung S27A55H and the LG E2770V. Most of the others I tested performed poorly with this cable. In other words if you want to have good picture quality with a newer MacBook Pro use the D-SUB input on the monitor. The image quality / price is a good value and I'm pleased with this monitor (note that I consider the best monitor to be the Apple Thunderbolt 27" monitor but at almost $1000 I simply can't justify it at this time). I took off one star because of the unhelpful and unknowledgeable Viewsonic Customer Service - they told me the problem was with Apple. I took off another star because of the time it took me to troubleshoot this issue - there is no indication anywhere that the monitor will not produce a clear picture in 1080p with a MacBook Pro and 1080i flickered) and for the fact that I cannot use this monitor with an HDMI cable with my MacBook Pro. Otherwise, I think this is a great monitor - only started using it today. Beautiful picture, good contrast, large screen.

I use these for my home office. Very crisp. I use multi media on them and it is like watching HD TV. Highly recommend. And as all ViewSonic monitors, it delivers the quality you expect.

With the HDMI connections one plug does everything. Easy to use and good value. If you want a monitor with speakers (albeit pretty bad ones) this is a good choice.

I was in Fry's the other day and was looking at monitors for my macbookpro. I wanted a larger HD monitor for editing needs. I make short films. I decided before I buy to check Amazon. I found this one. I bought it, then while waiting I began to "really" read the reviews and saw a comment that said it wasn't compatible with macbookpro. Anyway it came last night, connected it in under 10 seconds and it works fine. Picture is great, Resolution is far superior to what I was using before. Great monitor! Hope this helps.

This Viewsonic VX2453MH-LED 24-Inch Ultra-thin Widescreen LED Monitor is not a "true" 24-inch monitor. Its viewable area measures 23-1/2 inch diagonally (the webpage says 23.6"). It is noticeable smaller than my monitor that measures 24 inches diagonally; so buyers beware. It is very thin, with the thickest part at 1-1/2 inch and very light for a monitor of this size. The base can be removed for easy portability and the monitor can be set up quickly in a bookstand configuration. For those who are looking for a monitor to move around to meetings and presentations, this is the one to buy. It came with one VGA socket and two HDMI sockets at the back. Theoretically, one can connected up to 3 devices (computers and/or TV tuners) to this same monitor and toggle them back and forth at the monitor Input menu. The display is crisp with vivid colors at 1920 X 1080 resolution. I know that VGA is analog and HDMI is digital. I tried both connections with the same PC, one at a time, and see no difference in the quality of the display. It may make a difference with HDTV. I leave that to other reviewers. There are two built-in speakers but the sound quality is so poor and the volume so low that it is not usable for CD or DVD audio, even after I installed the "SRS Premium Sound software". Good quality external speakers or earphone are recommended. A 3.5-mm stereo audio input and an earphone output of the same size at the back of the monitor are provided for this purpose. A 100-240 volt transformer plugs into a power socket next to the HDMI sockets. This monitor supposedly uses 40% less power because of the LED backlighting. I have to take Viewsonic's words for it. The ON-Off button is on the lower right hand side, together with four other buttons for monitor adjustments. They are hard to access and inconvenient to use. Overall, this is a very good monitor for the money.

It is great when it works. Had monitor about 6 months, developed 2 lines across screen. Contacted support. They told me it was covered under warranty, but I would have to pay to ship it to them, then when they got it they would send another. So I'm out a monitor and computer to ship from east coast to west and back again. No, I don't think so. Contacted support and told them it was an unacceptable policy, never got a response back. If you get lucky enough to get one that doesn't go bad, it's a great monitor. If you have to deal with Viewsonic, forget about it. I will buy another brand, never this one again.

I have another 24 inch HD widescreen monitor (not LED) hooked up to my computer via DVI. I always thought the display was great -- crisp, clear, colorful. Then I made the mistake of buying the Viewsonic which now sits next to it (the Viewsonic is connected via HDMI). Now the older monitor seems dull, fuzzy and somewhat faded in comparison. May have to get another Viewsonic. It's by far the best monitor I've ever had or seen.Yes, the speakers are pretty bad but I have other nice speakers. Would have been better if they had eliminated those useless appendages and reduced the price. Also, don't know why Viewsonic doesn't make the default input for both HDMI slots PC vs. AV. You have to use the adjustment buttons on the right side of the screen to change the input to PC. Otherwise, it will overscan and look terrible. Once, it's set to PC, the display is simply gorgeous.The above are minor complaints. Overall a great monitor.

Before you read, please understand that I've only owned this thing for about 5 hours. But still ... I'm so impressed!First of all, I was offered a free Amazon Prime trial and took it. I got this monitor shipped overnight for 3.99. Sweet deal.It arrived well packaged but not impossible to open. I don't recall reading this in the product description but the package included an HDMI cable. I know it was "HDMI capable" but I didn't know the cable would come with it, as many others don't include this. I plugged it into power, connected it to my laptop with the hdmi cable and as soon as I figured out that the buttons are on the side and are not "touch" buttons on the front, I turned it on. Duh!I'm using the monitor for an office set-up at home. Sort of converting my laptop to a desktop by adding a keyboard, mouse, and monitor. The monitor is huge! I've got so much screen to work with.My computer is my business and I've been at this a long time - but that being said, I'm not a techy so take this with a grain of salt ... I'm very pleased and impressed with this purchase. For under $200 - very sharp picture (the other reviews warned me to switch it to PC mode which I did right away. Clear as a bell). I'm right next to a big sliding glass door and I have zero glare issues. The speakers work great for my purposes - watching youtube or occasional streaming video (not movies or games). With the specs on this thing, in 3 years when I upgrade yet again to another laptop, my monitor will still be current. That's a big plus. Not sure what else to say. Just wanted to post a review since I rely so heavily on other's comments for these types of purchases. I haven't put it to long term use obviously, but it looks really sharp and does more than I expected to.

Very large, very bright monitor. Best value at this price point. The bookstand mode is innovative.Pros:* $199 price* Bright with good color balance* Bezel stays out of the way; fairly attractive monitor* Bookstand mode: no one else commented on this feature, but it was a key selling point for me. Most monitors come with an awkward plastic base, which turns even the prettiest monitor into a dorky Little Tyke appliance. The bookstand mode, once utilized (it requires a bit of force to turn the monitor hinge back that far), gives this monitor ~20 extra style points. If you're going for a modern look, without bulky plastic hunks sticking out of your fancy new screen, this is (as far as I know) the only way to goCons:* Speakers. Flat monitor speakers are not on the same level as flat TV speakers. You can hear things if you need to.* No DVI connectivity. Most new graphics cards will have HDMI out, but for older computers, DVI is really the only option for a digital signal, of which this has 0 connectors* Menu is as worthless as that of any monitorThis is a very good and large monitor at this price. The bookstand mode, in particular, sets it above the rest. RECOMMENDED.

I bought this monitor to use with a Beagleboard system. In order to run 1920x1080 this needs a frame frequency of 42 Hz which this monitor will not do. However at the next lowest resolution it works very well, giving a picture that does not really look scaled. For use with a system that will drive it at higher frequencies this is an excellent monitor.

The image is absolutely stunning. Colors are rich and black is very black. Other people in my office have "monitor envy". Setup was easy, but I had a mis-centered image on one of the two I bought which required a reset; the online tech support was very helpful. I'd hoped to replace my speakers but the built in speakers aren't up to the task. Oh well...
