Several times the set-up wizard told me that a cable was not connected and wouldn't go any further. I called tech support and after a few busy signals I got through, only to get a recording saying they were too busy to talk to me and that I should go to their website. Thanks for nothing - if I could get to the website I wouldn't need the help. I finally kept trying until it let me complete the setup. The payoff is that now, after getting rid of the crappy Belkin that's been cutting in and out on me multiple times a day, I'm connected and am starting to get used to not having to reboot and reconnect in order to use the internet. Downloading stuff seems to be faster as well. I'm a tech fool so maybe you can get it up and running with less of a hassle than I had. Whatever, I'm glad I got this router and can't imagine what the ones that cost 3X as much could do for me that this one doesn't.

So far this is the little router that could (be flashed with dd-wrt). Right now I'm sticking with the stock firmware but it's been great. In the past 3 weeks it's been 100% reliable and easy to set up. Great value.

This is a review of the TP-link TL-WR941ND wireless router. This router was easy to set up and has excellent range. It has worked flawlessly over the several weeks that I have owned it. I bought this router to replace a D-link DIR 601 which I returned because it kept dropping ssh connections. I am using ssh secure shell on a windows machine to log into remote linux servers. This program has no capacity to send keep alive pulses across the wireless link. After a short period (~15 minutes), the D-link router would time-out the tcp ip connection and drop the ssh connection. This is a real hassle if you are trying to work with ssh sessions on multiple servers. It appears that this is a problem deep inside the D-link firmware and, if you care, the only solution is to buy another product. I returned the D-link unit and bought this router. I can now leave ssh connections open for days. The speed and range are excellent. I didn't bother with the CD and configured the router manually, which was very easy to do. This is a great poduct that performs exactly as advertised.

Received router today, exactly as expected. I think it may have taken longer to unwrap the unit from it's thoughtful packaging than to get it up and running. I mean just a few minutes and it was connected and at blazing speed. For the price and it's capabilities - it would be hard to complain. 5 STARS.

Ok, so this is my first ever wireless router. I received the router today, and went to work on installing it.Installation was fairly simple, although i didn't like how they only included one ethernet cable when you need 2, and also didnt explain how to put the antennae on. I only ran into one small problem during installation where it wanted to now if i had dynamic ip or statip,but customer service helped me through.As far as the signal,im pretty disappointing. I paid the 45 bucks for this router over some others, because it has 3 antennae, and I figured that would make it strong. That's why I didnt get the other model that had 2. I'm only getting 3 bars in my home. The internet s working fine, but I want 5 bars. I mean, I am getting 5 bars for other people's wifi and their routers aren't in my house.Since the internet works, and that's all I really care about,I will just leave it at that.I don't know how some people are complaining about the installation. just put the CD in, and go to work..not hard people

This is a nice router, but there is no option for repeater, even if you use ddwrt software.It is a excellent router, but does not work for my universal repeating purposes.

I had never heard of TP Link before, and I needed a cheap router to take to college so I bought this one.This router is great. I have a linksys WRT610N router at home, and it costs 5 times as much, and has many comparable features, including a few bandwidth monitoring features that the linksys does not come with.The GUI is very easy to use, just go to 192.168.1.1, type admin for username and password and you are in. I didnt even need to use the installation CD that came with the router because it is so easy to use.The router that I got looks completely different than the one in the picture even though it has the same model number, and I actually like it better.I have the Intel Ultimate N 6300 adapter inside my laptop, and my wifi connection maxes out at 150Mbps, not the claimed 300Mbps. I do get the full 300Mbps with my linksys WRT610N.This does not matter very much because internet connections are usually not that fast, but if you are transferring files you will notice the difference.I will post some pictures of the GUI, and the actual router on the main product page. I will update if any problems arise.

I've used TP-link access point before; it eventually died after 5 years or so, but for $12 I was not disappointed.This unit has been functioning for several months now and it has no issue at all. The signal is strong and remainsstable. Buy.By the way, the second PC that this wireless unit connects to is about 90 feet away, passing through several walls.

I bought this router to replace a Linksys router that began freezing on a regular basis. After several months, it has proven to be a very reliable device.Pros:The signal strength is very good.It has good security features.It allows VPN connections, so I can connect to my work's network from home.Cons:While the configuration menus are relatively straight forward, the button to actually apply changes is tucked away in one submenu that is a bit difficult to find.

Very good deal very good Router ...works great..I couldnt tell if my 5 yr old router or my ether NIC card was causing dropped Isp connection so I decided to replace both...i noticed a big increase in signal strenth thru 4 walls to my laptop even tho i had a netgear rangemax before supposedly one of the better ones ....so im pleased and the price is great....downloading shared files is fast and i can even stream netflix even tho im on Roadrunner Lite (cheap small bandwith) ..without N Router this would be a problem!!!My only small complaint is there is not a diagram for the symbols on the router itself ie besides the universal power symbol ....but no problem ..it works great and the cd set up is the easiest ive ever done and ive done a few

Used previous model for 3 years with no problem. This works nice as well.The only disadvantage one cannot assign the same IP for different MACs, so ethernet and wifi from your laptop must have different IPs. Not very convenient for integrated home network.

Easy set-up... Works just as I wanted it to... Has not "dropped out" one time since I installed it...Has long range capabilities... My neighbor down the street came by and said he picked up my router and noticed it had security set up on it... I said it sure did and I suggested he get one for himself...

Don't waste the extra cash on any other brand. I've owned them all at one time or another (admittedly, not their newest cuz I bought this).Simple setup, the UI is easily the best I've seen, bar none, and it's been rock-solid. What else do you need to know?

I bought this router primarily to upgrade my B router to an N, so that I could have a faster connection for my Xbox 360 and watch Netflix at higher quality.Pros:- Setup was very straightforward using the browser interface, and the settings are clear- There is a lot of contextual help in the setup screens- Supports WPA2 with AES as well as many other flavors of security- My computers connected at very decent speeds, although I had to tinker with the settings (see Cons below)Cons:- Biggest drawback is that the Xbox does not connect to this router. After much headache I discovered on the TP-Link site that they are aware of this issue. There are a couple of recommendations there to get around this, but I tried them and nothing worked. With my old B router, my Xbox connected perfectly to the Live service- PCs connected intermittently until I figured out that I needed to change the wireless channel from "auto" to something specific. I tried a few channels until I found one that workedBottom lineIf I only wanted computers connected to my network, this would be a fine router. As it is, since it cannot connect the Xbox, I will be shipping it back.

This was the first wi-fi unit I've ever installed at home, and I was concerned it might be migraine time. Not so! The TP-Link TL-WR841ND comes with a mini CD that basically carries you through the installation process. One caveat; I couldn't complete the process until I powered down my cable modem and powered it back up (I found this out by looking at the Windows error message. I wish the manual has said something like "You may need to reset your modem." Oh well). Now that the TP-Link TL-WR841ND is up and running, I'm very pleased with it. I have a nice strong signal for my netbook and my smartphone throughout my house. I looked at a lot of wi-fi routers before I picked this one, and, for the money, you can't do better.

I ordered this router to replace my old G router. The low price did concern me a bit, but since the reviews where mostly good I gave it a whirl. I could not be more pleased with this item. The setup was a snap and it works flawlessly. I get a strong signal all over my house and outside patio and my Roku Box is now loading its content fast without any hick-ups and reloading during the movies. I have recently ordered another one for my work home in Seattle and it works just as great. This is a fine router for the price and I can recommend this to anyone. Thanks also to Amazon for offering this item with a fast delivery.

I don't generally review products but this one deserves kudos.I had a WiFi G router and it just wasn't doing the job anymore, between Laptops, desktops with no ethernet access, blackberries, and now a new Roku player, we needed a wireless upgrade.As some other users mentioned, I just went with the manual install, no CD. Just go to 192.168.1.1 and you can click Quick Setup. There were two minor blips--one is the auto-detect tried to say Static IP but the correct option is Dynamic, so just selected that manually, no biggie. The second was I had to reboot the Cable modem. After that everything worked smoothly. I named the network the same as the old one with the same passkey and none of my other devices even needed any updating.Done. The whole process took 10 minutes and the connection is so much faster all around. By the way I live in a big high rise with lots of networks in range, and the interference is probably relatively strong, but the router is handling it beautifully.I also bought a TP-Link 300Mbs usb wireless card and that worked just as quickly.

I have had, belkin, Linksys, dlink etc over the years, all the so-called big names and this TP link blows them all out the water, Trouble free and inexpensive to boot. Maybe the big guys should take a look at themselves for they're overpriced junk. Have a good day.

I bought this router to replace an ancient Netgear b/g model. The old one worked, but was limited to 54MBPS and had limited range. The setup on the TP-Link was very easy - hook up the components per instructions, run the CD and I had no problems at all. Installation took about 10 minutes once everything was unpacked and plugged in. I used maximum security settings. I also have TP-Link wireless USB adapters on both of my computers, which I have had for about six months. I get 150MBPS connection speeds with both of them, and signal strength is good to excellent, even between floors. All in all, good experience, and assuming the router has good long term reliability, I would have no problem recommending to someone else.

I have had different wireless routers at home, but my last one a Netgear 300N, it broke after 6 months of use. I decided To buy a new one since I was not impressed with the wireless download speed. connected speed was about 30MB/S, however when I checked speed wireless from about 6 feet, speed came down to 18 to 20 MB/S, and from the second floor of my home was about 15 to 18 MB/S. now with the TP-LINK router it is a different story, the set up was easy, downloads speed are about the same wired or wireless from any place in my home. I am getting about 29 to 31 MB/S on my 3 computers, 2 computers with N wireless y one with G wireless. I would recommend this product

Good product!I used netgear 300Mbps wireless router provided by comcast. The signal is not so good in one of my rooms(farthest one from the router, other rooms are good) and my roomate complained about it. That room is 3 walls away from the router.I bought this TP-Link router because it has external antenna. It provides much better signal. And at the same time, it is much cheaper than netgear.Con: It does not support third-party firmware(they provide many extra features like fine-grained QoS). It does not support IPv6, just like most other routers.Overall, I think this router is worth buying. You can't expect a "perfect" router for such a low price.
