This wireless router is very easy to setup. Just follow the instructions that comes with the router and the router will work. The router performs really fast compare to my old Netgear router and we have been really happy with the performance improvement. The range of the router is pretty good as well. The best thing about this router is the price comparing with Linksys, Netgear, and others. This router gives you great performance at the best price.One important note on the installation if you have AT&T DSL. You must call AT&T to get their help to setup the router because of the configuration requirement DSL modem. When connecting to AT&T DSL to access internet, you cannot login to AT&T DSL both from DSL modem and wireless router. Therefore, you must disable DSL login from the modem and AT&T technical service will help you disable the modem login. Without AT&T technical service, people will have trouble setup the wireless router.

I wanted an inexpensive router to give as a gift to my daughter and was surprised to find this very inexpensive model. After reading reviews on Amazon and other websites, I was skeptical about how well it would work. I'd heard many people complain that it was incompatible with Tivo and other streaming devices. Indeed, I spent a few hours unsuccessfully connecting it wirelessly with our Tivo Premiere through the Tivo N wireless adapter. HOWEVER, eventually we came up with a trick that worked great! We successfully connected it by connecting the TP Link directly to the Tivo with an ethernet cable. After making the connection, we unplugged the ethernet cable and plugged in the Tivo N wireless adapter and reconnected it to the network and low and behold, it was a breeze to get it configured with the network. We're happy! Of course I don't know how long this router will last, but for the time being, it is working out well.

No complaints at all... we use many different wireless devices in our home... streaming videos, iPad, laptop, etc., and the connection is always strong and fast. Much better than our old router which was double the price.

I bought this as it had good reviews, It works great and very configurable. I wanted to add another wireless point at home. I came out of my sbc gateway ethernet and into the ethernet port of tplink instead of the Wan and disabled the DHCP server setting. set each wireless to different channels and all is good. this basically turned this router into a network switch. I was able to access all pcs on my home network and print without changing IPs.[...]

UPDATE:I got the unit and had the same poor product experience. Their customer service people were nice enough but could not get the unit to work with my modem (AT&T's 2Wire). In conclusion it is a waste of time for me with this unit. SENT IT BACK FOR THE SECOND TIME.I returned this unit. I don't know whether it is just a defective unit (others have had the same problems), but I spent hours on the phone doing all sorts of things to get this to work. Finally after 8 techs (all fairly diligent and most spoke English, with one American thrown in)one of them said it was defective and to return it. I read all the positive reviews and am debating on trying it again. However, the last time was such a pain.

Best than DLink. This is my third WI-Fi router. Two other used to be DLink, both hard to setup, and lot problems with connection stability. This one is nice. Just don't try to configure it without following the instructions in the disc (yes, the instructions in the disc will help you setup the thing without troubles).Performance: The best I had. My dLink used to freeze sometimes and when watching Netflix, in the middle of a movie, the thing stoped and take a long time to get back. This one just works great ! No freezing, no gaps. I use it with my cell phone, my laptop and my streaming device, all at the same time and no flaws. Very satisfied. Recommend.

I bought this for home use to replace a weak and inconsistent Medialink unit. This is far superior, no problems with connection or strength of signal in any room.

I have had this modem at my mother's house for about two years. The house consists of four levels and the router is placed on the second. Every floor has a good signal.When I decided to get a router for my new apt, I opted for a more expensive Dual Band router..I believe it was NetGear. Had to return it because the signal wasn't strong and I was constantly having to reboot it. I got this same exact model again for my own place and six months later it's still going strong. My mother's has been around for two years. I can also say they have excellent customer support.

The TP-Link is a real bargain. It was easy to set up and works great. The only problem I had was that my cable modem had to be restarted before I could use the internet. Minor issue I know, but my old Cisco router did not require me to do that.

This router has worked flawless since I created my network. Distance of transmission is great and has expanded the range I can now use. Getting it set up was a bit difficult and using customer service was frustrating because of a language barrier but the tech support person was patient with me and the small problem was resolved.

I bought this router because windstream wanted $120 for existing customers and $60 for new customers for their router. I have had it now for a few weeks and it has been great. I have not had any problems with it

I have had nagging disconnect issues which are always resolved by a quick reboot.Setup is/was fairly simpleWhen functional, the speed and performance are great.Just can't tolerate the reliability and up-time issues

I bought this product after reading some reviews and comparing prices. I was a little concerned at first when I went through the setup process and couldn't connect with my AT&T internet. My experience contacting the company was great. They were very quick to respond by email. When I still couldn't figure out the setup, I called their customer service line and a very patient person walked me through the process. While today is the first day my router is up and running, I can say that the range is excellent and I am very pleased so far.

I hardly give any bad reviews but this one is. The worst problem was the range. My laptop is on the opposite side and floor of a 2-story house from where the router is. On my current router (the one I wanted to swap out) I get a solid 3 bars, sometimes 4 (out of 5). This router gave me 1 bar barely. Speed was lower and my ps3 had the same issue. Gameplay was pretty bad.I called their tech, though I am tech savvy myself, and they had me go through the basics and it just wasn't fixed. They recommended that I just exchange it but I instead returned it. I may have just gotten a bad one but it was quite disappointing to waste hours of my life. Went back to the old one. Still hate my current router because it decides to reboot itself once a week (even if I force it to myself) so I lose connection sometimes mid-game in FIFA. No one wants to see my rage when that happens.

I wrote a really long review about this router praising it, but really, this router is only meant for people who:a) live aloneb) don't use torrentsWhy? Because even with the original 11 month old firmware and the latest DDWRT, this thing will lock up on you if you use torrents. It's a great router, but it is NOT for a person who wants to do some serious networking or P2P. The signal is great but the internals simply cannot handle many connections and it will drop the connection each and every time. It's inevitable. If you're reading this and enjoy using torrents or want a way to keep a whole house full of people happy, DO NOT BUY THIS. Save your money and buy something that has powerful internals and can run Tomato. Not DDWRT. Tomato and Tomato alone. I know there's a lot of college age people like me who don't have a lot of money to throw around right now but seriously, don't cheap out and get something like this inexplicably cheap and seemingly good router. Spend twice as much and get the Asus RT-N16, which is ridiculously powerful and runs Tomato. I ended up returning this WR841ND and bought the RT-N16 instead and if you can relate to what I'm saying, you should do this too.

Now this is a good product at a fair price; however because of the lower price there is a price you pay too. The disk it comes with is a mini one which doesnt work in a verticle drive bay but it does save the company money. Speaking of savings they outsource to India I think the lady's launguage sounded like Indian/english to me but I'm not well versed in that so I can't say 4 sure. Wat I can tell u is I didnt understand her & she didnt understand me; not a good situation when u need help in installing the devices. Well I'm proud to say after many days of trial & error on my part learning as I go I was successful!!! Yippie.OJT with high tech stuff. The USB device in my dell notebook works better than any others I've owned.The items were packaged well but the instructions were more of an after thought. I wonder if the company knows the packaging winds up in the trash but the manuals and such are to be kept for future referance. HMMMM just a thought here...wolf

I purchased this router to replace my old Linksys WRT54G router. I thought I needed a quicker connection with my desktop, laptop, internet TV and tablet all operating around the household. This router was difficult to set up (but perhaps that is user error and not the router's fault). However, my biggest headache are the recurring daily disconnects that require a reset. It doesn't seem to matter if it is the desktop's wired connection or the wireless. I have tried changing wireless channels, etc. and nothing has helped. I was initially hesitant to blame this router for all my problems but I have since gone back to my old WRT54G and all is well. Disappointed in this purchase.

First of all, be aware that even though all of their documentation says that this router can be used with a MAC computer, the included Setup CD is NOT compatible. The instructions on how to set up this router without the Setup CD is SOMEwhere on their website, but you will have to wade through a LOT of web pages in order to find what you need. Even then, you're not going to be sure if the information applies to what you have.All is not lost. TP-Link actually has an intelligent, technical support staff answering email 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; EVEN on weekends! When you send an email to their technical support, they will reply in less than a day, asking you a few questions about what specifically you have. Then, they will send you the links to their "help" pages that apply to your specific device.The TP-Link router we have is now working fine.

Stock firmware is junk so you should flash it to open source like DDWRT one.Its not 5 starts because it drops and locks up sometimes so expect to power-cycle once a week.

Took about 30 minutes to get three computers, one android, and one wifi printer to talk amongst themselves. Those were all G, so I don't know what kind of range we're talking, but seems to have about the same throughput or a bit higher than my d-Link wireless G before it croaked.Update: Make that MUCH faster. I have not tried to find the max range, but the devices I have in the same locations are running at 2x previous speed. Very happy with this purchase.
