We are working on a interactive museum installation that uses joystick and throttle controls, and are using the Unity3D game engine. We bought this stick to prototype with. I was a bit worried that the joystick wouldn't have drivers for my mac, or I wouldn't be able to access the throttle control on the joystick. It turns out no drivers are needed. It works beautifully, and is super easy to program with Unity. You can easily access not just the joystick and throttle controls, but the joystick's "twist" axis, thumb stick, and the throttle's rocker switch as well as its many buttons. I don't know what all these controls do in flight sims, but its a lot of inputs to play around with, and its great fun if you are a Unity programmer.

I bought the Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X for my father as a Christmas present; he is seventy-two years old but likes to play games on his computer. I needed a flight stick that was well-built, easy to use and easy to program. I ordered it on twelve twenty-two two thousand ten and received it on twelve twenty-eight two thousand ten. Thank you Amazon, it could not have arrived at a better time! My father had come up from Georgia for a visit and did not know I was getting him anything. We were both like kids in the candy store!The stick and throttle, works as a one-piece unit or you can take the throttle apart from the stick and use it as a separate unit. The stick and throttle has a solid feel, as if you are holding the real thing. The buttons are there and plenty of them, and are well placed. It also comes with a tool to take the stick and throttle apart so you do not have to go hunting around the house for the right tool.The T-Flight is what I would call a smart stick control, it has many of the flight sim programs already set up and you can setup more almost on the fly. All in all the T-Flight is one of the best flight sticks around it is also able to work on most other programs that use joysticks.My only complaint is I did not have enough cash to buy one for myself also.

Pros:Rather Budget product.Value for money.Solid overall.Quite a good amount of buttons.Cons:Joystick resistance wore out pretty fast.For right handed people.I did'nt quit like the throttle detend in the middle. I would have prefered it more backwards so it can be used to assign to reverse thrust.Overall, Good product but be cautious of the cons.

What a fantastic product the Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X Flight Stick is very robust and just feel right in your hands, playing Hawx 2 on both Playstation 3 and on PC the stick is absolutly great. The stick comes apart and you can have the controller nearly 1 meter apart so your throttle is in your left hand and your flight stick is at your right hand just the right distance apart, the stick is very responsive to every move you make it is a absolutly delight to use, I can only highly recommend it great quality great product.

This is a great, well-done product. I bought it for use with Mechwarrior: Living Legends, as I'd heard it's great for the Mechwarrior games. I did like it while I used it, but I found myself switching back to keyboard and mouse all too often.However, for aircraft flight, I find this product to be very rewarding, although I'm not to great at it myself.All in all, this is geared towards flight games and should be used as such. For my fellow Mechwarriors out there, the keyboard and mouse will live on.

This is a great stick for beginners. After playing with is for a few weeks now and examining it for sturdiness, I seriously doubt I will break this joystick. That was my biggest worry after reading so many reviews on other flight sticks before buying HOTAS X flightstick.

very very hard to use, even harder to setup. The movement of the stick doesn't translate very well onto BF3 on PS3, can't say how it works for the pc, but I recommending avoiding this flight stick.

Iv have this joystick now for about two months and its a really nice joystick for the price! The only complaint i have about it is that sometimes the trim wheel button/tab will Stick so i have to be careful how i press it. If your a new simmer like me then i really recommend this joystick!

When I got HAWX2, I told myself this is an entirely new game from the Original HAWX... controlling the plane-wise. It's gotten more realistic! So I decided that my dualshock controllers can't do the job anymore. I came looking for flight sticks and this one had a generally good review. I gave it a shot and I wasn't dissappointed. Price is cheap but the joystick is worth way more than that!A great flight stick but still it could use some upgrade. A force-feedback/vibrate function is most certainly welcome!This stick with force-feedback is going to be awesome!!!

This joystick is big and heavy. I like it like that. Well constructed and thought out. But does big and heavy mean clumsy too? Read on and find out.Wire management is excellent and they even include a place on the base to store the allen wrench adjustment tool!I have used this joystick on only two games, HAWX, and MechWarrior. On HAWX the joystick is simply too sensitive, even on the least setting. I don't know whether to blame HAWX or Thrustmaster.You can't even shoot a plane down in the recticle because even a slight movement and a bouncy jerky one at best, due to sensivity of the game or joystick, will move the plane way out of alignment very easily and you end up like a bucking bronco as you aim. It's just plain impossible. It's like trying to shoot a fly in a jar swinging back and forth while jumping up and down on a trampoline during an earthquake!Even adjusting the "play" in the joystick doesn't help much or recalibrating the joystick through Windows. I checked the Control Setting in the game but there is not much that can be done. That being said I still like the joystick, but maybe my mind would be changed if I tried other joysticks. Thrustmaster and HAWX collaborated in the development of this game, so there's no excuse. I expected perfect play.There is a throttle control but disappointed it does not have indents farther up for afterburner control. Only one indent in the middle of the movement. That kinda of threw me off.On Mechwarrior these issues are not of concern and the joystick plays pretty good on it and with all the extra buttons and whatnot makes good use of the ambidextrous walking twisting firing robots.

To start, I am no expert in flight sim joysticks, but I must say this device exceeded my expectation. I bought it for Flight Simulator X on the PC. It has enough standard buttons to control the important (thrust, rudder, flaps, spoilers, reverse thrust, landing gear, etc). Anything less used I just hit the keyboard. For the price, I feel this was a good try. I liked it so much I will keep it and had made playing the game 10x better than using the keyboard to fly. Highly recommended for people looking for a solid purchase.

I'M DISAPPOINTED WITH THE THRUSTMASTER, IT IS DESIGNED MORE FOR COMPUTER GAMES SUCH AS PLAYSTATION ETC. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO CALIBRATE IT AND FOLLOWING THE BOOKLET IT STILL DOES NOT DO WHAT I WANT IT TOO. MY OUTDATED SIDEWINDER WHICH IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MY NEW PC WAS SIMPLE AND EASY TO USE. THE THRUSTMASTER IS FOR THE VERY SKILLED FLIER AND IT NEEDS THE ADAPTER FOR THE FLAPS, ETC. SORRY BUT THAT'S THE WAY I FEEL ABOUT IT. I SHOULD HAVE ORDERED THE ONE THAT HAD ONLY ONE CONTROL.

Well got this product and initially like it. After using it for a week or so decided i dint. It's rather big...so if u have a small space it's not for you. and i had trouble getting all of the buttons programmed for what i wanted. I sent it back for this reason. Also this does not have trim wheels on it.

The cable linking the throttle assembly to the joystick itself is way too short. The cable extended around the back of my laptop, but I couldn't adjust it any further since it was completely taut. Trying to use it was incredibly uncomfortable as I had to lean forward, and the purpose of buying it was to have a throttle on the left and stick on the right so I wouldn't have to lean in one direction to control both. Placing the cable in the front didn't work either as it got in the way. I question how this cable compares to a full size keyboard, and wonder if the same issue would occur. Now I'm forced to return the model and either buy a similarly priced single stick which is uncomfortable to use, or dish out an extra $50 for the next tier HOTAS by Saitek. If you are on a laptop or low on space, I recommend getting a different model. I will say that the stick felt rather responsive and of good quality, but I was unable to hook it up due to the issues listed above, so I can only give it 3 stars.

This flight stick is awesome! I would recommend this joystick 100% to any one looking for a good cheep one to play all of their flight sims on. I do not have a PS3 to try it out on but it works flawlessly on the computer. I a playing Mechwarrior 4 and Star Wars X-wing Alliance with it and it is simply amazing. Has great responsiveness and plenty of buttons for all of your needs!

For the price you can't beat the Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X Flight Stick. Before purchasing I read many reviews on flight sticks & came away with the opinion that this one was a good buy. I purchased it from Amazon & when it arrived all you had to do was unpack it, plug it in to a USB port & play away. Works beautifully.

I have been a pilot in the video Luftwaffe since '96, and now I fly my ME163, "Komet"like the jet fighter she was meant to be. This is using the Thrustmaster T-Flight Stickin Wings of Prey from Gaijin. With that Flight Stick/Throttle Combo, my Komet is a joy to fly.The control takes only a few intense flying hours,and this jewel proves itself over @ over.I have flown CH Products,Microsoft Sidewinder,and I am definitely a Thrustmaster/Wings of Prey advocate!
