Received this stick and immediately tightened the screws on the bottom to connect the two pieces. This thing is a very nice stick. I popped on Heroes Over Europe for the PS3 and plugged the flight stick into the usb slot and it started working immediately.Coming from using just a regular PS3 controller to a flight stick it was very touchy and hard to get used to. After a while of playing I started to get used to it. I love this thing, I had a Saitek I used for my PC before this one and it totally replaced it (the Saitek had no throttle).Overall I say this item is a definite buy. I haven't used it with any of my other flying games yet but I am sure it will be just as enjoyable. The thing even has the PS3 icons on the buttons to show what to push and is pretty dumb proof. Switch right on the front to go from PC to PS3 is a awesome as well. Only downside is I wish the USB cord was a little longer, but I will just have to buy a extender for it so I can actually sit farther back and put it on my table.

Great joystick at a very good price but the manual is poorley written with alot of information left out. It's left up to you to figure out. The SE and SC buttons are not explained fully only referred to as number 12 and ???. Mapping and preset buttons are touched on lightly.I use it on my PC with Windows XP and am playing Wings of Prey. Until I can get the mapping and preset buttons figured out I have to re-enter all my settings every time I start a new game. That sucks.

I have enjoyed using various PC flight simulator software for a number of years. Being a pilot helps. Most of my joysticks have been pretty basic. My last was a Wingman forcefeedback which went south. I bought the T-Flight based on the positive reviews and design. I liked a having a substantial throttle control that could be attached to the joystick (or detached)if preferred. Overall a good design and decent construction for the cost. It does the job and is easy to set up. The negatives include a poor user manual and so far I am unable to assign commands to the throttle rocker (slider) control. I have been able to do assignments to all the other buttons. The unit could also use additonal control buttons.

This hotas joystick is well made and works well with IL-2:Birds of Prey on the PS3. I've noticed some dead zone on the throttle that's a bit annoying, but none to speak of on the joystick. Installation was a snap, and the default button layout works very well. It makes the game much more enjoyable, over the PS3 game pad. My only complaint is that looking behind you in the simulator mode of the game is impossible with this stick. I've worked around that by simultaneously using a mouse, which is supported by the game, but it's not ideal. Overall though, I really like this stick.

This is an awesome joystick, since i bough it been using it in FS2004, no really much configuration to do works perfect, FSX even better, on my PS3 works great been using it in HAW X, IL-2 and works great, y really recommend this joystick, very affordable and for the price its just amazing...

Believe the other reviews, folks. I ordered this joystick solely on the reviews here on Amazon and I am glad that I did. I don't want to reiterate too much of what the other reviewers have already said, but I will say what I think is important. I only use Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and this joystick worked with the game right out of the box! The quick start guide explains which buttons are mapped to which functions by default for Flight Simulator X. Turns out the same mapping applies to FS 2004 as well!There is one thing to be aware of: on the throttle is an LED-lit "home" button. If you wish to use the large grip buttons on the throttle for the rudder function in Flight Simulator, then make sure this LED is RED and not GREEN (just press the button to change it). Otherwise, in "GREEN" mode, the large grip buttons on the throttle serve as a separate axis for the joystick.The joystick is shipped with the throttle detached. The USB cable runs to your PC/PS3 from the joystick, while another cable runs between the throttle and joystick. You can attach the two components together as shown in the product picture using an Allen wrench attached to the bottom to screw in two nuts. However, the cord between the components will need to be wound into a holder under the throttle, which seems a bit annoying in trying to conceal the cord.

With Tom Clancy's HAWX on the way to the PS3 later this season, and my sudden urge to revisit Freespace 2, X-Wing, the Wing Commander games on my PC, I decided to give this joystick a shot since it was cheaper than PS3 version of the Saitek Aviator, and it's also a hands-on-the-throttle model. I am sure glad I did! This stick is awsome, I am very glad that I gave it a chance even though reviews were scarce.It has just about every button you could possibly want in a joystick, they all fell right when pressed, it's programmable, has a throttle with an alalog rocker for even more control options, and it all feels very intuitive when held. I tested it in the Windows game controller utility and everything seems to move quite precisely. Afterwards, I played Freespace 2 and the demo for the Battlestar Galactica: Beyond the Red Line mod, and it was a total blast. I was able to map the controls perfectly to all the buttons on the stick, and I was flying like an ace in no time.They really thought of just about everything for this stick. The throttle module is actually detachable via an included Allan wrench, so if you prefer "cockpit accurate" distance between the stick and throttle, it's there for you. There's even a knob on the bottom of the stick that lets you adjust how much resistance the spring gives you! Pretty much the only thing you don't get is force feedback, but that's hardly shocking since this is an under $50 stick. It's even lap friendly, which is dandy if you don't have a coffee table or your desk is too crowded.Overall, this is a very good stick, and is great for PS3 users or people looking for an entry level stick for their PC. For under $50, you'd be hard pressed to find a Hotas model as good as this one, and I'd much rather use this for my PS3 than a Saitek Aviator due to it's more solid build quality and hands-on throttle. Unless you'd rather drop $100 on a fancier model, Thrustmaster's console-friendly offering will serve you very well.

This thing is awesome! I bought it to play HAWX on my PS3. I works bitchin, kind of poor in quality and a quite unimportant button stopped working for a couple hours but now works fine. Cant beat it for the price. I would definitely recommend this item.

After seaching for a new joy stick I came across the T-flight Hostas and after researching a number of others I decided to purchase this one. Basically, I found it to be rather cumbersome as it is rather large and a bit complicated for a novice. The instruction booklet is really not that great and of very little help. While not the worse joystick that I've ever used -- I would like something a bit smaller with clearer instructions on all the bottoms on the unit and how they operate. One plus about the unit is that the setup is "truly" painless -- my computer picked it up right away.

I fly aircraft for a living and next to the real thing or a 5 million dollar simulator this is the best joy stick I have tried. My wife got it for me for Christmas and I love it. I do wish that the two halfs were a little harder to take apart as it always seems when you are in a big dogfight that if feels like they are going to come apart. Don't look any farther this is a great flight stick!

We are very pleased with the realistic performance from the T-flight Hotas Stick for the PS3 game console. We were looking to improve the action with the Tom Clancy H-A-W-X game from UBISOFT and the T-flight was just the addition we needed. We are still enjoying the game since putting it in action after Christmas. I am sure it will become the house favorite and continue to keep everyone working on thier piloting skills going forward into the New Year and for many years to come. Top Gun here we come!!!

Mine lasted 4 days before it just died completely....I seldom do any gaming, just FS2004 a few times. I really take good care of my stuff. I bought this as a replacement for another joystick, because I wanted the throttle feature.When I got it, I was impressed at the response of the stick. The throttle was ok. Overall, I was concerned about the cheap plastic feel and the "Made in China" logo. I was not surprised to find out that it went bad after a few hours use. It just quit with the Power light still on. "lights on, but nobody home".I returned it for a refund and will stick to a better manufacturer like CH.I had a thrustmaster way way back and it too died. I should have known better.Also, after a lot more research, I should have bought the Saitek X52 or X52 Pro. They are also "made in China", but they are much more adaptable for all kinds of games. This Thrustmaster is really only for the HAWX game and for FS X. It can work in other games, but it is Not software programmable. Only through the Game Software. There's No Programming Software for this unit.....All in all, it wasn't worth the money unless youy only want to use it for HAWX.

This is a good flight stick. you can twist the flight control stick (the one on the right) to control the turning of the jet as well as use the control buttons on the throttle to do the same. it's just whichever you prefer to use. The build quality is good too. I mounted my to a dinner tray/table and it's at the perfect height to use with on office chair while playing Hawx. It adds a realism that just can't be replicated with the standard ps3 controller.

I'm using this for Flight Simulator X, I haven't tried it on other games yet.Some good things:* No problems using on MS Vista* It comes with a quickstart guide with default mappings for a few games, including FSX* Most things are in easy reach* Stick tension is easily adjustable* Nice and stable base, including plenty of rubber feet.* Control is nice and smooth* Reasonable priceSome negative things (mostly trivial):* I don't keep the throttle/stick connected, and the cord between the 2 parts is about an inch too short to easily run behind my keyboard.* One button the on throttle is a little awkward to use; you either have to use the base of your thumb or shift your hand slightly.* The shape of the base is a somewhat awkward, taking up a little more room than it needs to.

The joystick adds a whole new dimension to the gameplay making it far more fun than with the controller. I bought it for playing IL-2. I do have some issues with their being a dead zone when I go in for a kill but from what I'm told it's the ps3 not the joystick, a problem they're supposed to fix in the next update. The thrust control leaves alot to be desired as well but once again this is IL-2 not the controller because it responds well on blazing angels 2. Overall I'd rate it around a 7/10 constructions a little bit lower quality than I'd of liked but I've also managed to break 3 ps3 controllers in the last 2 years so I'd say I'm rougher on my stuff than most. Also I can't figure out how to map the buttons but since it's pre-programmed for the ps3 this hasn't been an issue YET.

T-flight Hotas Stick Pc PS3This is my second one. I bought the first from Amazon last October-08. I was impressed with it's construction and overall operation ,but it had a few quirks. So I sent it back and paid the re-stock fee.I've been a Microsoft Flight Simmer for 7-8 years and I've tried and/or owned almost all the joy-sticks and yokes(with and without foot pedals)that have been marketed in this country.I have a soft spot for my Logitech 3-D Pro that has served me well for many years but I never really cared for their throttle design, and I guess thst's what attracted me to the Thrustmaster Hotas.After waiting 6-months to give the manufacturer a chance to make another production run (and hopefully overcome the faults I found on my first one) I ordered another and found that it worked flawlessly. I am now a happy "camper".If joy sticks are your thing, look no further, THIS IS THE ONE.---- Extremely well made, solid professional feel,smooth control actions that allow precise take-offs and landings, heavy weighted, priced right and delivered by Amazon.Order one now, you won't be sorry !!!!

Almost like the real thing ! Adds excitement and realism to most flying games, particularly any game that involves fighter aircraft. All the switches and functions are programmable, and easy to set up and use.

I'm brand new to video games wih my PS3. Last game was original Asteroids on (I think it was) Nintendo.I'm all thumbs yet with the hand held controllers but this unit is almost instinctual. I can do almost all of the moves after only 3 times playing it. Haven't shot down the enemy, but haven't been shot down either. Great Fun! Well worth the price. Now to learn how to land without crashing . . . .

I bought to use with google earth so many of the buttons don't work -- you can use the keyboard short cuts as well, however, but it would be nice to trim my F-16 so I could look away to plot my course, etc. As it is, I must fly at every moment -- quite exhausting.

This was given as a christmas present to a real gamer. He love it. And he couldn't believe the low price I paid for it. He said it was worth twice as much, and that was what many people were paying for it. Too bad they didn't find it here like I did.
