This is the best pocket camera I have ever used! Me being a Sony Alpha user I appreciate the controls and layout of the screen, they're very similar to what I see on my SLT-a57. Great pictures, once you get to feel it and get a few rounds with it you will not go back, had barely used my SLT for a few weeks now.

If you want a good point and shoot then this is a waste of money. This camera takes great pictures but you have to manually adjust the setting and know what you're doing.
For full auto it's not worth it and you can get similar quality for the fraction of the cost.
The size is compact, it's feature rich, and the pictures can be great. However on full auto the camera often focuses on the wrong subject, the white balance is not always good indoors, and the pictures aren't impressive.

Upon opening this item I was immediately impressed. I had thought the price had been on the low side when I saw the case and ordered it. To my delight, this leather case is high quality and feels very expensive. I also noticed the free lens cloth which I had forgotten was included. All together this feels like one of the best buys I've gotten in some time.

Makes great pictures. Use it on my last trip. It will fit in a jacket pocket or carry in a small camera case around your neck.

Very nice camera, full of bells and whistles. Just be aware that it is bulkier and heavier than your regular point and shot. It feels heavy in your pants pockets and it is not precisely easy to carry around.I have a nikon P300 that has served me well for several years. The only downside of the nikon was its image quality, even at low ISO you can see the grain. I decided to upgrade to this Sony camera which looked very promising and comparing sizes the Sony looked even smaller! Well, when you carry the camera it does not feel that small or light as you might expect. Just heads up, in case you think that you can bring this along keep in mind that you will need a purse, a bag or a jacket.

This is a sturdy, handsome looking camera case. It fits the needs of my new Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-RX 100 II. However, I was not at all happy with the case's neck strap - very cheap material. Not the same quality as the case material.

UPDATE: Dec 21, 2013There are far too many things wrong with this camera. Go with the RX100. The M2 has so many bugs it has become unusable for me.1) The auto-focus is horrendous. It has an absolutely horrible time focusing on any object in the foreground. It always gives priority to the background.2) The quality is "allegedly" better than the RX100 yet when I compare my RX100 footage to the M2 footage, the RX100 footage is far more crisp and detailed. The M2 footage seems "foggy" and struggles in low light.3) Although the BSI sensor is an improvement, for whatever reason they chopped the exposure control. +2 exposure setting on the M2 is like +0 on the RX100. It simply does not increase the exposure enough to perform better in low lighting and it's blatantly obvious. I have to shoot at +2 at all times and in low lighting it simply fails.4) The Wi-Fi was originally usable. Now that they keep updating the "PlayMemories Mobile" app, it hardly ever works with my Samsung Galaxy S3 Android phone. It constantly disconnects, takes forever to connect in the first place and when it finally does, the footage is choppy, laggy and practically unusable. Zooming in/out is out of the question -- who knows why they even let you do that when it never works. I also am really, really pissed off that it said it was recording on my phone. I later found out I lost about 20 minutes of footage because it wasn't recording. Probably due to the cam overheating? Maybe they should have thought about that when designing the app, so I could know when it's doing that instead of reporting a recording status when it's not!I hope the RX200 is much better than this, as this clearly has been a failure.

Don't buy! Isn't real leather as advertised. If you read the details it contradicts its own description. It's PU leather - cheap!

It is an amazing camera considering its size and outstanding picture quality. I had the original and the added features are superb!

I find myself leaving my D800 home because it is so heavy.

This camera is my favorite and the first one I gab. Its picture quality is way above the $450.00 class very small P&S.

The one inch sensor makes a huge improvement.

Beautiful camera, amazingly sharp images. I have the first one and love it. I bought this for my wife and it's even better. Worth the money when you don't want to carry a DSLR. Wish the high ISO was a little better, but it is amazing for a point and shoot.

A real camera taking superb pictures that fits in your pocket like folding money and change. Not quite a complete replacement for my DSLR, but so much more convenient with which to travel and use than the DSLR, the quality difference allows not matter for most applications. A great camera for the price.

this is a great camera and it is so hard to balance the tradeoff of size versus image quality. I wish I could have both

The material is okay but the neck strap is thin. The neck strap can slip out of the case over time. Beware. I have to tie a small knot to secure the neck strap. In addition, the center of gravity for the case is odd. When I hanged the case from my neck, very often the case will rotate upside down when I was moving.

Just the right size to take anywhere, but could use a larger grip. Handles easily with a great electronic viewfinder and tons of readily available info for each photo. It is a great complement to my Sony A7.

WARNING. RX100II major defect! (DO NOT BUY)Search and see Youtube video: "Sony RX100II Review - Defect Problem. Do Not Buy."Display models in stores appears to have same problem. The frame on top is not secure by any screws. Normal use of the setting knob with your thumb will push the frame forward, the camera will start to fall apart. Sony Warranty will not cover!Worst of all, Sony Warranty sent back unserviced camera IN PIECES! I mailed in my camera in ONE PIECE, they decided they won't cover it, didn't bother to put the camera back together, just shipped back the camera IN PIECES. Wow... what kind of company does this?Sony basically told me, "Take your $750 camera and go SCREW YOURSELF!"

Despite the array of cool features the M3 has (new backlight 1 inch sensor, new Zeiss lens, pop up view finder, selfie display screen, new high bitrate codec, & apps) it's too small for practical use for larger hands. That is a huge selling point that has been overshadowed in reviews online. Thank god I rented it first. Sony please make an M camera for people with bigger hands.

This is a fantastic little camera! It is very easy to use, takes great pictures. After carrying around a heavy DSLR camera for years, I am totally enjoying the size of this compact camera. I would definitely recommend this Sony camera to anyone looking for a small camera with many features!

First things first, I am a Canon fanboy. I love Canon cameras and have been shooting with Canon cameras since my 35mm film days. This is the first non-Canon camera I have purchased in over 20 years, and I don't regret it one bit.Having spent this past weekend shooting with this camera, I am amazed at how sturdy it feels for being so compact. The tilting screen seems quite solid and truly changed the way I took pictures, allowing me to get a few priceless shots I wouldn't have otherwise captured. The screen itself is amazingly bright and clear, looking a lot like Apple's Retina displays than typical LCD camera displays. The buttons, although small, are intuitively placed and easy to select when needed. The menu structure is quite simple to navigate, even coming from a Canon background. Many settings actually seem a bit more intuitive than the Canons I'm used to.This little wonders auto modes are simply divine, especially the intelligent mode which detects what scene you're trying to capture and auto adjusts all of your settings for a great shot. Auto focus is fast and precise. Another great feature is the lens. Sharp, flawless images are obtained with this awesome Carl Zeiss 1.8f lens. This leads me to probably the camera's greatest asset... low light photography. Photos taken with very low light are simply stunning from this camera. I've never seen low light performance be as crisp and noise-free as this one.Truly an amazing, feature-rich, point and shoot camera. Just be sure to get an extra battery and a a couple high capacity memory cards. You won't want to stop shooting with this baby. A total winner from Sony!

This camera delivered what I expected of it. The wi-fi and selfie capabilities are very good plus. It saves me a lot of time connecting to the computer just to get the pictures with the wi-fi. The only con is the lack of zoom capability, which is minimal. The Lightroom 5 software is an excellent addition to the other stuff that came with the camera.

Very satisfied, great camera. Make sure you use the wrist strap, the camera is very slippery. It needs skate board tape to enhance grip-ability.

This is an ideal camera for someone who wants high quality images that can be blown up to 8x10 or 11x14 and wants to shoot in low light without a flash, but who does not want to lug around a bulky DSLR. It offers a number of automatic settings that make it very easy to use right out of the box, but it also allows manual settings for the more experienced photographer. I also purchased the small grip that makes it a little easier to handle, though its small size does present some challenges in this regard. I will also buy the eyepiece for framing (if I can find it) since it is often difficult to precisely compose images in daylight through the LCD screen.

I was a little leery about spending $700 on a compact camera but after having used it for the past couple of weeks I am so glad I did. This camera takes stunning pictures inside and out. I love the fact that I can send the pictures straight from the camera to my phone so that I can share them with my family right then and there.

I bought this set solely because of the 64gb memory card, the spare battery, & the external charger. Some of the extras it comes with are very cheap and you probably will not use them. The cleaning solution had actually burst in the plastic sealed bag but I really wasn't disappointed being that I had no plans of using it after reading reviews on it. The camera bag is a cheap bag but it does serve it's purpose as I have been toting the camera around in it.

best point & shoot I've ever used. I've used the RX100 I & II over the past year and this one is the best despite shorter zoom. I have had 4 Canon PS cameras since 2001 and they've been excellent but none compare to what this can do.

I own the past 2 versions of the RX100 and I have to say, I really love the camera. That is the only reason I am giving this 3 stars.

Why just 3 stars? Because my RX100M3 stopped working on the first day I used it :(

The camera just wont turn on. I've been on tech support from both Amazon and Sony. They confirmed its a lemon.
