At the beginning, I was extremely happy with the headset - the sound was very good, and the microphone was highly reliable (I used the headset for dictation with Dragon NaturallySpeaking). Then out of the blue the microphone failed - when I talk over the phone my voice sounds muffled and difficult to understand, and dictation is no longer possible with this headset :(

I purchased these headphones for making VOIP (magicJack) and Skype calls. I had originally purchased the Logitech USB Headset H530, but I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the microphone. The test recordings I made always came out garbled regardless of the audio settings. I tried going up a step in quality (or at least price) with this Sennheiser headset and I couldn't be happier. The test recordings I've made sound crystal clear and I've used them for several VOIP and Skype calls. In addition to casual calls where audio isn't that critical, I've also used these for recorded interviews over Skype. The interviewer making the recording gave the unsolicited comment that my audio quality sounded fantastic and he wished his interviewees were as good.The speaker quality seems decent to me, but I'm not using these for music or gaming, so you should look to other reviews for that feedback. The cord/cable is quite long (almost too long), but it's easy to tie up the excess. The only real negative is that the mute switch generates a substantial 'audio blip' when activated (either on or off). It's workable, but not ideal if you plan on making heavy use of mute (I'll be sticking with the software mute functions of skype and magicJack).

Good material quality, but not what I was looking from this headphones.The noise cancelling it is really only for the microphone not the speakers. Still can hear everything if the volume is not loud.

This is a fantastic product. I'm not a "PC" gamer, but I am an editor who frequently edits while my son plays video games or watches movies on the main television. He frequently complains about the music coming from my editor being too loud and the Sennheiser PC310 Gaming Headset solved everything.On top of that, it is extremely comfortable and has awesome noise and sound control, keeping sound out and keeping sound in. The only thing that could make this product better would be if it had a plug in remote that made it cable-less. The cable is very long and annoying, but is easily remedied with a wire tie to keep the cable short.The price is steep, but you get what you pay for with this product... Quality.

The headset and microphone of this unit is superb. The quality is excellent and fidelity of both superb. As a monitor and talk back device, this unit is excellent.Unfortunately if you intend to use this headset for recording, it is totally unsuitable. There is a significant and very detectable feedback from the earpieces back into the microphone. You can clearly hear the audio coming from the earpieces fed back into the microphone once you play back your recording. This happens at almost all reasonable level settings (both record and playback) and cannot be avoided.At first I thought this was coming from the sound card or maybe monitor/recording volumes begins set too high. But the only time you can prevent the feedback is to mute the microphone or reduce the recording volume to zero.Also, the mute switch is far from silent. It was not engineered properly and generates a very loud and noticeable "pop" each time it is switched on or off. This noise is also recorded and will spike the recording level.For gaming, this might be a reasonable headset. For things like podcast recording it is not the right unit.

These are excellent headphones. I use them for online teaching and they are comfortable all day. The ability to mute by moving the mic turns out to be a great feature.

This gaming headset from Sennheiser works great for both PC gaming and regular every-day things you may do on your PC such as listen to music or talk online. The sound quality is excellent - as clear and crisp as some higher-end headsets. It is comfortable to wear even for hours at a time, and appears very well built and durable. The head-set is super-easy to use, just plug it into your computer and you're good to go - they even provide a nice long cord so you don't have to worry about pulling away from the desk a bit, you can sit comfortably. The microphone works well and conveniently pushes up and away from your face if you don't want to use it.Overall a great product - something I'll be enjoying for a long time.

First off, I'm not an audiophile, but I am quite picky. Let me tell you I have used many different types of headsets from other manufacturers including Razer, Logitech, Turtle Beach, and Tritton, and none have even come close to the quality of the PC350's. Also, these are much better than both my Bose and Klipsch Earbuds. I have purchased many, many items from Amazon over the years, and only two products I've felt were worth the time it took to write a review for, and the PC350's are one of them. Bass is excellent (I can't believe people complain), although I am using a soundcard with a built in amp which may be many people's problem. Highs are crisp. Games sound exponentially on these over any of my other headsets. Movies are perfect. Also, they will only get better as they get broken in.I don't want to get too long winded but lets just say, you should probably buy these before the manufacturer decides to discontinue them (in favor of the PC360s).

The PC350 by Sennheiser is a quality product in terms of sound and construction. I can comfortably wear this headset for hours of gaming without getting tired. It does an excellent job of isolating extraneous noise and reproducing in-game audio. The clarity and depth of sound is amazing and adds a new dimension to one's gaming experience. I have been on-line gaming for nearly 20 years. The PC350 is by far the best performing headset that I have used thus far. As an aside, the Sennheiser Headphone Holder is a very useful accessory for this product.

I've owned a few headsets in the past 10 years, including Logitech, Altec Lansing, Sony (without a microphone) and a lower model Sennheiser about 5 years ago. I am an avid computer gamer and often go late into the night at stretches of 8 hours at a time or more. And this is the best headset I've ever used in almost everyway.First impressions on removing it from the packaging (which I had no trouble with, following the directions on the box) were of durability and a solid build. It's well put together, nothing seems flimsy or cheap, but its also surprisingly lightweight. The wire is quite heavy duty, unlike the Altec Lansing and Logitech headsets I previously owned. Not to mention robust strain relief where the wire connects to the headset, the control pod, and the jacks.The control pod is perfectly positioned and lightweight, so even if it's dangling you don't even feel it, unlike the bulky control pods on some other headsets. In terms of fit, the ears swivel almost 45 degrees in each direction, and extend from the head-bar with solid clicking intervals. The headbar and ears are both covered in comfortable velor padding which unlike faux-leather on my previous altec lansings, don't cause your skin to sweat and stick to it. The earpieces swivel slightly in and out, and if you push firmly on them they will collapse inward with a snap - don't be afraid, it just prevents them from collapsing on accident, which I was concerned about when I saw them folded inward in the pictures.They collapse solidly but will not do so by themselves. The microphone is adjustable, but not overly so - you have to bend it firmly to adjust the position and it won't bounce back on its own. It descends down from its perch vertically along the headset with a moderate degree of resistance, so it won't flop up or down on its own. And if you want to move it halfway up and leave it there, it won't flop back down, unlike my old headset, which either had to be all the way up or down. Hopefully it stays this way.In terms of comfort, its extraordinary. Many headsets I've owned claimed to be circumaural, meaning they surround you ears and don't sit on them or in them. But most either never intended to actually follow through on that promise or they are made for people with ears the size of quarters. Even my old Sennheisers sat right on my ears, and my Altec Lansings, while a very nice headset, had padding large enough to go around my ears, but the speakers inside the earphones themselves pressed up against my ears, which became extremely uncomfortable after periods of time.These earphones are ACTUALLY circumaural. The padding surrounds your ears but never touches them. The only pressure is on your actual head; your ears are never in contact with anything. The velor is soft and the pressure is almost unnoticeable. At first they seemed a bit tight but a little adjustment of the head-bar and a couple hours and they seem to break in a bit. the velor padding on the head-bar rests gently on the top of your head and the whole thing seems to distribute the weight of the headset evenly so you barely feel it.Now for sound - Everyone knows Sennheiser is one of the premier names in sound quality, and these are no disappointment. Now these are probably not the headset you want if you're just listening to music in a studio or something - but for a combination of a microphone and comfort and audio quality, I doubt there's any better at this price. I began by watching a DVD of Band of Brothers on my computer. At first I thought something was wrong! It sounded like there was some kind of noise coming from somewhere else besides the DVD, when I realized I was hearing things I've never even before heard on my speaker system!Every sound, especially the mid's and high's are exceptionally clear and sharp. And for a headset that is not a 5.1 headset, the directionality of the sound is amazing. Some here have complained that the base is not heavy enough, but honestly, if you want to have more base than this, you're not looking for audio quality and accuracy, you're just looking for ridiculous base. The base was excellent and sharp, not booming or echoing. Explosions sounded realistic and surprising, without any buzzing or crackling. For sound quality, these are better than my Klipsch Promedia speaker system, and that's saying something.These also have a closed headset design, and I was initially worried about the sweaty-ear syndrome from this type of headset, but I was suprised and happy to find that after 4 hours, I didn't experience any overheating or sweating of my ears. Maybe in the summertime that would change, but if anything the headset just got more comfortable over that time.The microphone quality, while it is hard for me to tell myself, I've been told it's excellent, although I had to turn my gain up a bit on my microphone, because apparently its a bit quieter because of the filter on it.My only con with this set of headphones is t

I used this headset for a couple months then the microphone failed. A quick web search showed that this is a common issue. The headset is out of Amazon's return window so I had to send it back to Sennheiser and need to buy another headset to keep working from home...

If you need a headset with microphone no use bothering with cheapo sets. They all look the same but thyey don't function the same. Had a Logitech and another one for $14 and they are useless. The Sennheiser PC31-II works extremely well. The sound is very natural and clear. You really cannot tell how well it works by just listening. It is the microphone that determines the quality. The Sennheiser is tops. Sorry Amazon, had to send 2 sets for a refund but at least now it is OK. You really cannot tell much from the package and printed specs, no matter how beautiful it looks.

Although listed only as being for Windows I found this worked great with a 2011 iMac running OS 10.7 Lion. There are some nice features of this headset. First is the sound quality. It has a very smooth sound with clarity across frequencies. Bass is very nice, strong but not boomy. Another feature is the ability to connect with either traditional headphone/microphone analog jack, or with the use of the included adapter a USB connector. Build quality is excellent. I have tried several of these headsets over the years and usually the mic boom or the earpieces are flimsy and fall apart over time. This one is solidly built. I especially like the way the mic boom is solid but has the ability to be twisted to the best position for speaking. Flipping up the mic boom turns it off. The weight is acceptable and the earpieces are nicely cushioned. I was able to wear these much longer without the discomfort I get with cheaper headsets. The side of the headset has a very intuitive volume control, just put your finger in the indent and rotate to the desired volume. The microphone is also excellent. I made some recordings of my own voice and was pleased with the full, rich sound it recorded.For Mac compatibiilty just plug and play. You will probably need to open System Preferences>Sound and select the USB headset for Input and Output. For more tweaking you can find the Audio MIDI Setup application in Applications>Utilities. This application lets you control levels and set the surround settings. I did not anything to test surround sound with but I was very pleased with the stereo performance.Overall, this is a well-made, good sounding headset that is Mac compatible. If you are looking for an all around high-quality headset to use with a Mac you will should like this.

The PC350 has some nice design features, but are underwhelming in their performance, and uncomfortable for extensive use.The microphone is nice quality, but the audio is fair with almost no bass. Voice reproduction is good, but as a gaming headset, I'd expect more depth to the sound. My $20 10-year old Sony headphones Sony MDR-V150 Monitor Series Headphones sound as good or better, and my Audio-Technica earbuds Audio-Technica ATH ANC23 QuietPoint - Headphones ( in-ear ear-bud ) - active noise canceling - black are WAY better. The noise isolation is fair/poor considering the around your ear design, and the design makes them HOT on your head.+ Folding design+ good mic+ long cord- HOT on your head- Poor noise isolation- HUGE size- Fair sound quality- Outrageous price for what amounts to a web-chat headsetSummary: They are going back in the box and back to Amazon. I'll try my luck with something costing 50-80% less.

The mic and sound quality is outstanding but I find if i wear these headsets for over a half an hour it starts to hurt my head because it is too tight for my head. Also the ear cuffs do not go over my ears which i find very annoying. Overall good headset, would recommend if you can wear them properly.

The Good:- Very comfortable to use for extended periods of time- Good sound quality for music (I have not pitted it against mega expensive alternatives though)- Seals the ears pretty well for tuning out distractions and noise cancelling is goodThe Bad:- Separate mic and phones plugs won't work on an iPhone or even my laptop - you can only use them as headphones- No call control buttons like mute, on/off, volume, etcI use these for listening to music at work. I really wish that they had included an adaptor to make it work as a mic+headphone combo for newer devices. Otherwise I need to switch to iPhone style earbuds for Skype and so on.Overall impression: Recommended

I'll just cover various aspects briefly: comfort is lacking compared to over-the-ear headphones which is what I normally use... same with sound quality: too much external noise gets in. The microphone has decent quality - certainly good enough for gaming, and I even used it to record some vocals on a few sound tracks: works better by far than a condenser mic! But all in all, the lacking comfort and lacking sound quality makes these merely "OK.". I would not recommend them or slag them as compared to other moderately priced headsets, and would easily recommend the additional investment in something of higher quality: I've owned better and there's no going back.

I got these headphones for myself but realized that perhaps they would be even more beneficial for someone who was into online gaming, so I let my nephew borrow them to use and to solicit his opinion about the quality of the product. End result: highly recommends for a truly intense gaming experience.He reports that initially he was only able to use them to listen to music because his computer needed an upgrade to a better sound card in order to take advantage of the Dolby technology. He says, "I like the headphones even right now in stereo as the sound quality is crisp and people can hear me much easier in my online game. Though I don't play WoW anymore, but with a better sound card the headphones will be very useful in my other medium of games, shooters, to determine where someone is when they start shooting." The headphones are really really good, the only gripe I have is that I need a new soundcard in order to utilize the 7.1 surround sound. At least I can use them as standard headphones which are still beyond amazing in stereo and when I upgrade and get new stuff a sound card is going in to my computer too just to make these headphones truly worth the great piece of hardware they are."He had no complaints about the size of the ear pieces (comments by other reviewers) and likes the flip microphone. He plays a lot of online games and is enjoying the headphones. No difficulty with installation and the headphones are sturdy and well made.

First let me say I am hard of hearing. With out a headset I can't hear well at all. I find these work great for Skype and for listening to videos on my computer. Very light weight and comfortable. I would recommend these. I also have several sets of Sennheiser wireless headphones for my television and am very happy with them as well

My biggest problem with this headset is that it's PC only. I use both Macs and PC's, so I needed to buy a 2nd headset from Logitech that ended up being much more comfortable and has better sound quality.
