High speed and high capacity at a good price. This was a great replacement for a 100gb hard drive that was nearly full. Shipment and receipt was quick.

I ended up buying 2 of these Seagate 750GB 7200rpm drives to replace the Western Digital 1TB 5200rpm Secondary Drive I had originally upgraded my Dell Studio 1747 XPS Laptop (Western Digital 1 TB Scorpio Blue SATA 3 Gb/s 5200 RPM 8 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Notebook Hard Drive - WD10TPVT) due to the Later drives 12.5mm thickness, even through the 1tb drive worked flawlessly. So I decided to get the two Seagate 750GB 7200rpm drives (Which installed flawlessy since it was the laptop designed 9.5mm thickness) to compensate for taking out the 1tb drive (I could have gotten the Western Digital 750GB equivilent but the RPM speeds were only 5400rpm to the Seagates 7200rpm). Both drives fit perfectly into the laptop comparments and was recognized instantly by the Laptops BIOS.Other than that all I can say is both drives are working great (Along with it fitting in the laptop compartment great) and are a good way to expand the storage on your laptop (At least until the Hard Drives Manufactures can figure out how to make the 1tb and above hard drives that will have the 9.5mm thickness to fit in all Window based Laptops).I would recommend these hard drives for all Laptop upgrade needs who wish to increase thier storage with virtually no Headaches.Computer Specs:Dell Studio 1747 XPS (June 2010 Model)Windows 7 Ultimate SP1(64 Bit)Intel I7 Core 1.6ghz processor8GB DDR3 10666mhz Ram1gb NVidia 880 Video Card750gb (Previously a 120gb)\750gb (Previously a 1tb, removed due to drive thickness issues) Sata Hard DrivesBD-ROM/DVD-CD Burner1920 X 1080 17inch Screen1GB Broadcom Intergrated NICIntel WiFi Wireless CardCreative Sound Blaster CardASUS VH242H 23.6-Inch 1080p Widescreen LCD Monitor (External)

This harddrive is great one for such a low price. Normally these kind of harddrives run at about $75 to $100. Amazon had a great deal. The harddrive runs great and I have had it for about 4 months now without any problems. I also use my PS3 almost everyday. This is great purchase and recommend it to anyone that is looking to upgrade their harddrive for a PS3. Below is what I did to install the harddrive if that is any help.I have been looking for a larger harddrive for my PS3 because of all the things I have installed on there. When I found out that you are allowed to do this and it is really simple, no matter what type of PS3 you have. I have a PS3 slim and it was super easy. To get the harddrive out I had to open a little hole area on the bottom of the system and unscrew one screw. Once I did that there is a piece in the front bottom right of the system that slides out and then you can slide out the harddrive. With the drive out I could put the new one that I had into the protective case and then put it into the PS3. It booted up fine and clean. I then put my other harddrive back into my PS3 and made a backup of the system on to my external harddrive. With putting the new harddrive in I just copied my backup over to my new harddrive and everything was there. It was a simple process.

Using software to fix the file structure on my Maxtor OneTouch 4 (purchased direct from SeaGate March 2010), it was revealed that it is a Seagate, specifically a st9500325as or the reviewed drive.I had not used it for quite sometime, but was recently and it seems the drive had became corrupted. It could be the fault of the Maxtor software, and the usb interface. I did notice a small dent in the aluminum case. However, with the express return option at Seagate and ten dollars, they are sending me a new on after using the SeaTools for windows to provide the SN. However, they did not ask for the error code. I see if I don't return the "faulty" drive they will charge me sixty five dollars, but I will do a surface scan etc, to see if there is really a problem that can be detected.Well, I got it as an overstock from Seagate about two and a half years ago for eighty eight dollars. Never really used it as a backup drive just a little transferring and storing, it seems pretty slow. However if I decide to keep it because there is more of a software problem, I could swap it for a 200 mb drive in one of my laptop and use the case to make the one exiting external.edit:Using a two "headed" USB connector in the case, seems to make the data unreadable, whereas using one it is OK. So maybe I will stick with it if it checks out in tests. I was given a refurb. FreeAgent but it was USB2 but found a USB3 connector for it. Seagate will charge me sixty-five dollars as a recovery fee for this drive I am keeping, but the Maxtor based on "this" being in its case, has a five year warranty so I am essentially guaranteed for it to be working well or being replaced until march 2015!

Hello there i bought this serial ata drive for a desktop before you all go WHAT!?!? 2.5inches are for laptops!!! NO theyre not! they are backwords compatible as long as your Case can handle 2.5inch sata drives! which my rosewill could! and i could not get any other 3.5inch drives with the same technology bandwith and RPM's! for anywhere close to that PRICE!!!! great buy and remember the only difference between a desktop sata 3.5inch and a noteboot sata 2.5inch is the SIZE! all the connectors are identical!

I bought this hard drive on July 1, 2011. I'm writing this product review on May 2, 2012. So, it's been 10 months and this HDD still works flawlessly in my PS3. It makes the PS3 system run faster and has shorter load and install times compared to the 80 GB 5400 RPM Seagate HDD my PS3 had originally. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great product! I'm considering buying another for my laptop just for the performance boost (the space is a plus too!).

Fast Delivery. Fantastic packaging. Worked perfect out of the box. This was a purchase to replace the Toshiba (160Gig 5400RPM)factory hard drive that crashed. I was quoted $320 to fix at local computer shop. Took me 3 minutes to install the HD, so I saved $240 by doing it myself. There is a big big difference in the speed also. Everything loads at least 2X as fast. Start up is less then 5 seconds. Very quite. There are no overheating problems either. I am running it on a Dual Core Processor with Vista Business. 90% of applications are High Graphics (CAD,CFD,Photoshop,Corel) and not once has it even thought about locking up. I read several bad reviews about this product but went with it anyways because of the price. There is nothing I can say negative about this HD. I was looking at the Momentus XT as a replacement, but couldn't justify the 2X price for a laptop that I use as a spare. I would purchase another one of these if I needed it.

because it is often that there will be a "bad batch", so someone will order two or three, have them all fail, and simply think the drive is of poor quality.I personally have had no problems with this hard drive, and although I've only had it for a couple of weeks, I would say that it is exactly what I expected, no more, no less.It is a regular 7200RPM laptop Hard Drive. If you're expecting lightning-quick speed, then buy a Solid State or High Performance Drive (like a raptor). Otherwise, this is a pretty standard Hard Drive.

For now, I'm going to rate this product a 1 because it seems Amazon can't even ship it out. I needed it quick and I expected Amazon could fulfill 1 day shipping like they have always done. Unfortunately, they had to refund my 1-day shipping costs and it arrived late. When I finally received it, I got a Seagate Momentus 5400.6 160GB 2.5 laptop hard drive. ST9160314AS. So now I have to go through this whole process of returning it to not get charged extra and wait for my original product.-Amazon sent the right drive. It was late and caused unfortunate issues. But I can only blame them for not fulfilling 1 day shipping and then shipping the wrong item.

This drive failed after 1 year, 26 days - just beyond the guarantee. It ran hot in my MacBook Pro 15". It began bizarre behavior (requiring several internal disk repairs and repeated start attempts) just after the warranty expiration date

My old hard drive just gave out and stopped working. I thought my laptop was done till I ordered this. It was $80 and I double my memory in my computing. It's easy to change out, and you just have to reload windows onto it. Alough you loose everything unless you saved it to an external hard drive! Fast shipping

I own a white, 13-inch, November 2006 generation MacBook, and I refuse to give it up. With that being said, I'm sure it's no surprise that I was in the market for a new hard drive. My fiancee actually talked me in to getting this one, and I'm so glad he did! Compared to what I had before, this is LIGHTNING FAST! It's so awesome to have so much space for installing new software! :) If you're looking for a hard drive that plays well with your Mac, this is the hard drive for you.

really fast drive, I upgrade from a 5400 rpm drive, and the different is amazing, load time of windows when down almost a minute, applications loading time decrease significally, every runs better, and faster.

I got this as a long-overdue upgrade for my late 2006 Macbook Pro. It's been working great since I installed it a couple months ago. Seems to be totally compatible, as it fit right into the spot left by my old HDD and was recognized immediately by my computer.

The install worked seamlessly on my fat PS3 (80GB MGS bundle) system. Only problem I had was with the PS3 system backup itself that does not involve the new HDD at all. So far no problems since I've had it installed 10/2011. If you use a proper screwdriver to remove the stock HDD mounting screws you should have no problem with stripping (I didn't) that others have reported. There has only been a single instance the very first time I booted my PS3 where the HDD was not recognized but upon rebooting it was worked flawlessly (knocks on wood).

I purchased this to replace my 80GB PS3 hard drive. Installation was very easy (the only hang up was with the format of the intermediate external drive used to backup the info). The original drive in my PS3 was a Toshiba... no noticeable speed/performance difference. Would definitely recommend for expanding PS3 capacity.
