So far, this controller is amazing. Stunning backlit buttons with excellent sensitivity, good all-around controller grip and feel, and the cord feels pretty heavy-duty. The adjustable analog sticks make so much more of a difference than I would have ever imagined; something that I thought was just a good perk became one of the biggest things to top it off for me. Besides all of that, though, my favorite part about it is still the fact that I get to rep one of my favorite games with the beautiful "N7" logo and red stripe.Thank you, Razer, for brilliant craftmanship, and thank you, Amazon, for presenting it to me.

To all u fps lovers you will fall in love with the precision of this controller. The thumbsticks have no dead zone what so ever. The extra height they added feels great, and being able to adjust the resistance is so.ething that never even occured to me would be so useful. I was somewhat ify before i ordered this what with all the conflicting reviews on the net. But with the choice of any controller i went with this. I play ALOT of modern warfare, and i love to quickscope, and with the stock xbox controller the deadzone, at least o mine, is around an 8th of an inch! Tryin to quickly snipe or dropshot someone from across the map is far easier with this controller. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT DONT KNOW THEIR IS A VIDEO ON YOUTUBE THAT SHOWS YOU HOW TO VERY NOTICABLY BOOST THE SENSITIVTY ON THIS CONTOLLER. The best controller on earth... for 3 weeks. RT losses responsiveness. For shooters, this is devastating. Remapped RT to xtra RB. Felt strange using it as trigger. Took controller apart to fix trigger, cheap soldering did LB's in. Also, Left toggle cushion already wearing out after 3 weeks of use.

At first, you look at this controller and says "WOW! My friends are about to be pwn3d!".Then, you will reprogram the quick action buttons, plug it in and the action starts. The rubber surface feels great in the hand, the hyper-response, backlit buttons are very good and the tension adjusters on the directional sticks make it even better.And then your major headache starts. If you're gonna sprint, like I tried in Modern Warfare 3, it feels weird. You have to press the directional buttons really hard, and it stops sprinting even if you are still pressing it down and forward.After a few days, it created dead zones and ghost movements. So, when I press up on the left directional, it goes DOWN and then UP. I didn't break it, as I've been playing for 2mts wih the original MS controller and it's still in one piece and responding perfectly.Tried contacting Razer for support, but no success.I won't buy this, or any other Razer product AGAIN.

A lot of time (Most in fact) the after market controllers are just lame or not built well. I bought my Razer Onza at BB but still felt compelled to come here and review it. I hated how over sensitive the Microsoft controller was(It's d-Pad to be specific). I can't stand out thinking my opponent only to have my controller let me down. Long story short I have no idea why any one would rate this controller 3 stars. The build quality is excellent and the few design tweaks they made pay off big time in FPS, the split d-pad does just what its meant to do and thats stop you from hitting left instead of down, or right instead of down, buy separating the directions as buttons. The A B Y X B buttons are a FINE Click instead of your full push typical button. The thumb sticks can be stiffened and boy is that nice, at full stiffness now I can really aim precise and you get to use the sensitive levels that are built into all analog sticks, for me the impressive thing that I like is the whole controller is built to eliminate mistakes and it has, its a tad smaller than the MS controller. 5 Stars from me as mistakes drive me crazy. Well built, not overly radical design, adjustable stiff sticks(perfectly done) and mistake free d-pad, make this controller the most moneys worth I've ever owned, I've owned 10+ after market controllers since 2000, and none have satisfied me like this one has. To get it away from you'd have to pry it from my cool dead hands. Dead Space 2 Multiplayer is what I play the most. 3 Stars is a joke it's 4 stars min and I give it 5 stars, its not you ave after market controller. I could care less if its made by Razor I had a mouse of theirs I hated, this is just a badass controller - ps I can't speak for fighters since I never play them, but for FPS it's very impressive. Way Way Underrated.

don't buy it, is pretty bad the sticks tend to die after several game play hours, bought it February it started having problems around July, both stick tension controller had to be adjusted again and again ,and razor didn't do anything to fix it, when i it send to them. Just buy a Microsoft owned controller, i bought a chrome one and work better than this wanna be controller.

The Razer "Onza" has everything you want and enjoy in a controller but wears easily. I just finished my third controller off and this one lasted the longest at a little over a month.I love the look and feel of the controller. The triggers seem to stick out further and the dual bumpers take some time to get comfortable using. The buttons seem to react quicker than the OEM model. The directional pad is ingenious and should be a model for other controllers. I don't use the tension adjustments on the sticks much but it is a nice option. The button remapping makes the controller almost worth the cash by itself.Unfortunately I won't be purchasing another due to the low quality. My first one was purchased from the Razor store and I had to send it back after about two weeks of use due to a drifting left thumb stick. The warranty was honored and they sent me a new controller within a week. The second controllers left thumb stick stopped working within a month. Not wanting to wait for another mail shipment I went to a retail store and purchased another "Onza" (what a sucker I am). The third "Onza" worked for about a month before the left trigger stopped working. I am currently using an OEM controller that I have had for about three years until I can find a controller that I like and is well built.

This baby is by far the most amazing aftermarket controller I've seen for ANY console! Everything from the button feedback to the general ergonomics are spot on. I look back and ask myself "how did I even use the normal controllers?!!" The adjustable thumbsticks are killer, leave 'em loose for FPS like Halo, or turn them all the way up for racing games like Forza 4. The wire is that real nice braided stuff Razer uses on everything, and it's nearly invincible. Of all the features of this controller my personal favorite is the weight. This puppy is LIGHT, maybe half the weight of the MS controllers. The only thing i don't really like is the macro buttons, as you get used to the controller you hit them every once in a while, with disasterous results. While playing Halo: Reach i meant to use my armor ability and threw a grenade at a wall, then stuck myself. Bad day. Once you learn to avoid the macro buttons, though, playing is a breeze. One very minor flaw is lost among all of the pros to this controller.So, have you put this thing in your cart yet? No? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR???!!?

OK HEADSUP PEOPLETHIS CONTROLLER IS BANNED FOR USE ON XBOX LIVEi bought these in good faith xbox license and all.but when the code wouldnt work i contacted EA.they said not to use these or u will be banned!im a loyal amazon customer...so buy at ur own risk.is great controller..jus dont use online.

This has to be one of the nicest controllers I have ever used. The adjustable tension on the sticks is awesome and the triggers are perfect. HOWEVER, I am very disappointed with the build quality. I bought mine in November and two months later it is falling apart. The rubber coating on the left stick is disintegrating, the very nice matte textured coating is beginning to peel off and the right stick is beginning to drift. At the rate it's falling apart, it will be unusable within the month. And I am by no means hard on this thing. I play about 2 hours per day. I have Playstation ONE controllers that are still fully functional. If you do a Google search for this product, you will see I'm not the only one experiencing issues with build quality. To sum up, if you are looking for the most bang for your buck, look elsewhere. If you have more money than you can spend and don't mind disposable products, then this controller is the best you can find. I really wanted to recommend and like this controller but until Razer ups their QA standards, everyone needs to pass on this thing.

I've had the Razer for over a week now. My experience is not without frustration.When the Onza arrived it was very stylish and sleek. You can feel the difference the rubber coating makes. And it pretty much conforms to your hands. So on look and feel, the Onza is candy. My first game I noticed the controller had a turn slow problem, as in it would turn fine on direction but then would slow down when going the other way. I mean this thing would not turn left at all, and you could feel it in the stick as well. So I loosened up the analog, no big deal to me. It will still slow turn and make looking around very sluggish, but not as frequently. I've had no real issue with the left analog.One of the bigger reasons I got this controller was the mappable buttons. Finally I could do 4 things without sacrificing aim. In less than a week the LB button was having problems working, and the next day was near crapped out completely. So I programmed it to the mappable button, no big deal right? Well the controller becomes a lot less comfortable and frustrating this way. I took it apart to check the soldering, found no real problems here. So it must be the contact itself or not idk. Now the reason I took it apart instead of dealing with customer service is because I buy things and recommend them to friends, and like to show them the product as well. Good or bad.The D-pad is meh. It doesn't always respond to a light touch and feels like pushin in on a mushroom. And it makes a soft thump noise. Not a real complaint, I just find the thump noise interesting.The hyperlight buttons I find the most commendable aspect of this controller. Their low profile, sensitive for a quick press, and the assuring *click* lets me know my input happened. However this could not make up for the overall use of the controller. Maybe I got a bad product, idk. It's a very creative idea, but just doesn't feel or act like a final product. Certainly not much for longevity. Gonna stick with the reliable MS controller.

The controller is AWESOME minus the fact that the left analog stick is trash. Too many problems. broken less than 60 days after purchase. never dropped never abused, sadly this was a waste of my money that i will never get back

Like many, many others, I have had major mechanical problems with this controller. I am on my third, and it is failing like the other two.The first had both sticks go so bad that when you pulled up the calibration routine in Windows they would both jump around the center point like hopped-up Meth heads at a metal concert. It is being sent back to Razer.The 2nd I ordered worked fine for a day or so, and then the A button stopped registering. I returned it to Amazon and got a replacement.It has worked well for 3 weeks, but now the left stick is starting to lose the center point like the first controller did. Looks like it will be in a box heading back to Amazon here shortly also.Razer has put together a great controller in principle and 'when' it works is fantastic. Best racing-shooting controller ever when it works. The tension tightening on the sticks and the short-throw on the buttons are great.Problem is it really appears Razer cut the wrong corners in cost control for this device. Cord is braided and long and strong, the rubberized coating is neat, and the layout is great with the extra back buttons. Buy some better internal components Razer! I can't shoot brain eating zombiess with my cord and steer my bitchin Camaro by rubbing the surface of my gamepad.Oh, and fix that stupid button rattling when the force feedback rumble kicks in. Sounds and feels cheap.I sooo want the controller that this thing can be! Hard to go back to my Microsoft controller, but hey, It works!!Bats

Pros --A,B,X,Y are faster-Controller is contoured - bumpers are angled-D-pad works much better for first person/third person shooters (switching weapons)-Remap able buttons enable you to keep your thumb on the aiming stick while reloading, melee, or whatever you like.-Triggers are curved to give you more control in racing games. I also feel it enables me to rapid fire more easily.-Adjustable thumbstick tension has 28 different setting. They also have a nice rubberized feel that keeps good contact which reduces slippage.Possible Cons--I noticed that the A,B,X,Y buttons will rattle a little when the Onza is at maximum rubble. -15 foot cord rather than wired?-The head phone jack is a 5m(?) which means headsets that use the 2-pronged won't work, neither does the chatpad.My Experience - I've been testing and dialing in my Onza for the last week. It taken hours for me to get the stick tension the way I want it but now it's amazing (I have the Onza set to Sensitive mode). For example, I've been testing it on Combat Training (Black Ops) and I am able to track and pick off multiple guys running past - aiming and re-aiming quickly.I've been playing with FPSfreeks exclusively for 2+ years. I am able to aim faster and make finer adjustments with the Onza.In SummaryIMO - the Razer Onza "Tournament Edition" is amazing. I was going to try out the N-control Avenger but there is no way I'm going back to a stock controller.Update: 05/01/11I've noticed that one of the tension adjusters on my Onza's sticks is beginning to tighten or loosen on it's own.Update 05/10/11The tension/rubberbands in the Onza TE's right thumbstick failed. My sights will randomly shutter and move left/right/up/down while playing Black Ops. I tried tightening them all the way - no effect. I also played with my standard controller just to confirm it was the Onza - worked perfectly.If you get this controller, keep the box.

When it works, the Onza is an absolutely AMAZING controller. It's so good that (other than the down time) I didn't mind replacing it when it stopped working after only a month and a half. In fact, the tensionable thumb sticks and the ultra-responsive button are so nice, having to use a standard 360 controller for those few days was simply torturous! So far, I'm only on my second Onza, the defective one having been replaced promptly under the manufacturer's warranty. I know several other people who've purchased this same controller, and theirs have also died within a couple of months, always to be replaced immediately by Razer. I even like this controller so much, that I'm willing to put up with the serious problems it seems to have with third-party headsets (the Turtle Beach X41 works okay). So, if you're a serious gamer, I wouldn't steer you away from the Onza per se, but you may want to pick up a second one right away.I just hope Razer reads these reviews and takes the issue seriously.

Razer Onza tournament editionThis is now the second Onza Tourney Edition I've gone through. I returned my first one on Day 1 (April).The problem with the first controller was my left joystick wouldn't let me click down and keep the action while pressing forward (up) on the joystick. This is a problem because in COD Black Ops this is the action you use to run. Since i couldn't click down, my character could only walk throughout the game. I wouldn't have this, so i boxed it back up immediately and requested for a replacement.The one I've been using now (the replacement) I've had since April 2011. I was scared i had to be fragile with the two joysticks at first. In July my D-Pad buttons started sticking or getting stuck down when i pressed on them. August, both my left AND right joysticks we're somehow internally stuck. The left, without touching it, will automatically be pressing left, sometimes down. So at the Home Screen trying to select a box was a pain, same with typing or going through any type of menu. Playing, my character would always be walking/running to the left if i wasn't putting pressure in the other direction. Same issue with the right joystick with aiming, but not as bad as the left. This controller became unplayable in 4 months. I would want another replacement, but i think it's been too long. Bummer. I'll try to post a video to show what I go through, if what I've said doesn't make sense.

Product is broken 5 days after 30 day mark. Awesome that I cannot return this piece of trash. I never dropped it or anything. Bye bye razer do not purchase

Got about 45 hours played on this controller no issues at all I read not to touch the tension sticks and ur controller would survive A plus lightweight easy to get use to would buy again

This Controller is amazing with one flaw... Right and left trigger have a longer distances of travel, which should be great for racing games but makes it very difficult to rapid fire a single shot weapon in any fps... I ground down the trigger to normal length and it is perfect now.... The D pad works 100% better than the original. The Adjustable joysticks give significantly better control especially when in scoped view. The 2 extra bumpers at the top can be useful in a number of ways but they will not sync to any of the directional buttons, which is kind of annoying but can be overlooked. Overall this controller is well worth the money in joysticks alone, everything else is a plus... everything this controller offers takes some getting used to but eventually works in your favor... except the wire... guess we just have to deal until microsoft get's off its high horse

This controller has many nice new features to it, but the weak materials really take away from the potentialFirst thing I noticed while using the tension sticks is the tension feels unnatural on higher settings, and diagonally the tension is not the same as left-right or up-down. The ergonomics don't fit as well as I hoped for my hands either, the back of the controller isn't rounded, it has edges for your fingers to rest on, but my fingers just don't naturally fit there, so I have to adjust my grip sometimes while playing after a while because it starts to get a little uncomfortable(I have big hands and long fingers).I decided to use the multifunction buttons as L-trigger and R-trigger, as the slightly longer and curved triggers didn't sit right on my hand either, but that's not a bad thing. I actually prefer to use the multifunction for the triggers, its quicker and more responsive than the Microsoft ones and makes easier for faster clicking, and makes my hands rest better on the back of the controller. Just have to get used to having my other triggers below instead of above them.All in all this controller is an OK replacement for an original controller.***UPDATE***After months of wear and tear the joysticks have worn down dramatically (the coating has fallen off completely), the adjustable sticks aren't working properly, a multifunction trigger has broken inside and no longer works, and overall quality is down. If you plan to use this controller often, be prepared for it to fall apart on you, it is NOT very durable, and I take very good care of my equipment (I still have the opening day 360 arcade with the controller and the headset still working).I thought maybe it was just a fluke so I ordered a new one and same thing. Longevity is not this controllers strong suit. They should have prepared for the controller to see many hours of use, seeing as how its made for hardcore gamers.

Sorry about the poor quality of my voiceover and overall fatness of my face. I'm working on fixing one of those problems. Won't say which.Overall opinion: there's a lot of potential in this device, but not a lot of substance yet. Ive had the razer hydra for a few days now and love it! It works great (no jittering or bugs yet), and is a blast. Some games I've tried do NOT work very well yet; for example mount&blade, but others, like portal 2 and Fallout, work extremely well and add a new depth and immersion to the games.

So, as of now I am on my 3rd Razer Onza tournament edition controller... I love the feel and functionality of this controller, but with the two that I've already bought, one for me and one for my wife, both of them become dysfunctional after about 3 or 4 weeks. What has been happening is when I press forward with the left thumbstick the character typically moves forward. Well, when the controller starts dying and I press forward with the left thumbstick the character will move forward for a few steps, then he'll stutter step or start moving backwards. This progressively gets worse in which the character will start moving backwards when the left thumbstick isn't in use...This controller is really a 5 star controller, but with how they tend to malfunction forces me to give a 3 star review. All I can say is thank heavens for Amazon's return policy. It's really the only reason why I am giving this controller a 3rd chance. However, if the new one goes out, I can't see myself buying another.Hopefully 3rd time is the charm, eh? :S
