There is no seller feedback area for me so I guess this has to come via product. This product may, or may not be, good. I can't tell as the manual is written in French yet the seller is based in Italy. This is tedious in the extreme but not the end of the world. I will comment on the camera when I figure it out.

Product came exactly as described and it's a good one. The wired cap is much useful, and everything comes in a nice pouch.

I've purchased two used K-5's on Amazon both with descriptions saying the camera was in "like new" condition. BOTH cameras were defective. The first one a button didn't work and the second does this violent shake thing when in live view mode (not every time it's turned on but enough to prove it's defective). I have to pay for the return shipping for both of them adding 60$ to a camera I could barely afford in the first place.

I am very pleased with this camera. There was no charger included, although the description and manual suggest there should have been. Because of the bad reviews given for the manufacturer's charger and battery, I bought a different one and am happy with that. Overall I would recommend this camera to anyone who wants wonderful color rendering and ease of use.

Long time Pentax user but first digital buy. Controls are user friendly. Got outstanding Grand Canyon shots w/o even looking at the manual. I can't think of anything I don't like.

still learning buts its an amazing camera. Works exactly as depicted. vibrant colors and great clarity. Good that I bought this after reviewing canon and others.

I HAVE HAD A PENTAX Kr for two years and remembered why I had more than one body in my 35mm. days and then saw this kit the K-500. Both kits had lenses DAL 18-55mm with K-500, and the K-r had two which included a DAL 50-200mm so with 2 short zooms and one longer one plus a SIGMA 18-200MM. plus 35mm 2.4 fixed lens which I tried with new K-500, what a surprise in quality that was, so if you buy a K-500 and can afford another lens get a prime lens of 35mm. I am not qualified to give a full review on either system but can say I'm more than satisfied with both systems and not being able to take them out in rain is not a problem I never could in 35mm days. .

After nearly two weeks of on-and-off usage some first impressions...
Pro: very good image quality up to ISO3200/6400; rugged; fast and mostly reliable AF; many and flexible settings; efficient handling; ISO priority mode;
Con: battery life mediocre at best; noisy shutter; live view and viewfinder measurements (for AF and exposure) not always in agreement; manual sometimes too terse;

A couple of (cheap) spare batteries are a must; the AA battery holder is probably also not a bad idea, especially when shooting off the beaten track.

I will edit this with a more complete review once I've used the camera for a while.

And yes... it is indeed VERY red though not exactly the Ferrari red I'd expected.

Lightweight and with superb stainless steel and magnesium body, this is the successor to the excellent K5 model. On the surface, very little seems to have changed and the two cameras are very similar indeed. The K5 II is capable of shooting video in full 1080p or 720p, with the abilty to switch frame speed betwen 25-30 fps in 720p mode. The new autofocus system gives much better results in all lighting conditions although it can take a little practice to get used to it. The camera's LCD screen is a big improvement over the old K5, and offers a far better resolution, making it easier to read, especially in bright light. The weather proof body certainly seems resistant to water (I've used the camera in fairly heavy rain) and it's also had it's fair share of knocks over the last few months, but these have left the body undamaged. On the whole, picture quality is very good indeed, although I wouldn't say it was leagues ahead of the K5. Video looks great through an HD TV and still pictures are rich, full and accurate. The kit comes with an 18-55mm lens, although this can be a little on the noisy side when being operated. The only other downsides I can think of are the focus select button, which is has a lot of resistance and the overall complexity of the camera itself. Expect to spend a great deal of time reading through the user manual, especially if you are coming to the K5 II from a much simpler point and shoot camera. Pentax is the camera I started with in 1979 and have trusted their products since. With this camera I was able to use an older Macro very expensive macro lens. I have posted videos to youtube and everyone comments about how good the quality is.

Love this camera! There are so many things that are nicer than canon's or nikon's at this price point (100% pentaprism, etc). Only thing that would have made it perfect is if the vf showed the focus points (K-50 does), but I can deal with that for how cheap this camera is.

Filters work just fine with my pentax k-500. They can be stacked (though that will kill image quality). Lens hood can be placed on top of the filters but filters can not be placed on top (inside) of the lens hood Lens hood is great with my 50-200mm lens but shows up in the frame of my 18-55mm lens. But for the price, it's perfect.Oh, and the case is really sexy.

As I use manual mode 99% of the time when using an SLR, my ideal camera would have 3 little wheels, one each for aperture, shutter & ISO. This would allow me to make adjustments without pulling the camera away from my eye to see what I'm doing (I shoot all pictures through the eye-piece).

The Pentax K-30 comes close, having 2 wheels which normally control the shutter speed and aperture, but can easily be reprogrammed for any combination (e.g. shutter & ISO, aperture & ISO, & so on).

This is my third Pentax (or is it really a Ricoh? I also have a K1000 & K110D) but I'm not a "brand bunny", its just that when you already have a range of lenses, it makes sense to find a body to match.

Pros:-
1. Very good for manual operation (what else would you use an SLR for?).
2. Textured "grip" area (for right hand) minimizes chance of dropping it.
3. Sensible diopter adjuster (can't be accidentally offset when someone picks up the camera).
4. Last picture RAW option; if you have just taken a prize winning picture in JPEG (i.e. the last picture you took), you still have the option to save it from the buffer to the SD card in RAW format.
5. Its weather resistant. I wouldn't use it in the bath, but I don't have to run for cover when it rains.
6. I think its a much better camera than my wife's "fair weather" Canon EOS 1100D.

Cons:-
1. Can't think of any.
2. I've had this camera 3 months, and the weak link is the idiot standing behind it.

Amazing shots, love the features and can't beat the price. I can use all my old Pentax lenses on it as well, which is a pretty good saving too.

A good standard mid range camera, for someone wanting that little bit extra.
I used a wide angle lens with the camera and it became twice as good.
It is heavy, bulky and does not hang well around the neck when sitting on your chest, and care must be taken when carrying over the shoulder to prevent knocking the lens. though this would be the case with and SLR?

All as promised. Great price! Nicely packaged and arrived quickly. I like to protect lens with filters as well as employ them for effect and these filters are just what I needed. And you get extra stuff.

Had a K5 for about a year now and needed to replace my backup camera (a K100 super) so this was the obvious choice (other than getting another K5). The differences are not immediately obvious from the original K5 and it feels exactly the same in the hand and I've not noticed any other operational changes. Images appear to be pretty similar too though I've not done a full range of images to enable me to compare them to my K5.

I've always had Pentax camera and though I have been tempted to move to Canon or Nikon I have stuck with them. The reliability of the cameras makes them worth considering and the build quality is great. Though the K5 isn't water proof I can certainly vouch for it being weather proof. I've used my original K5 in rain snow, sleet, and the other extreme of the heat of death valley (119 degrees) and I have had no problems at all. You can be confident that the camera body will work under most conditions.

For the price, this camera is everything you would need to begin your photography hobby. It is solid, the weather seal really comes in handy for the winter time, (much lower operating temp than rival nikon and canon cameras),

In body Image Stabilization is pretty nice too, another big upgrade that is not found in the entry level canon/nikon camera.

If you are wishy washy on buying outside of the big names, I would say just go for it. you wont be disappointing (unless you plan on taking your hobby to the professional space down the road)

Great camera for the the price, can be as simple of as complicated as you like and quite capable of amazing results

When I dropped my Pentax K2000 on the pavement it set me up to have to buy a replacement. I wanted to stay in this price range and looked at both the K30 and k50. I am very happy with my purchase. The menus are similar so learning this new camera has been pretty easy. Having video in my dslr is a nice bonus. One difference in this camera body is the wheel located near the on /off switch. It is taking me awhile to get used to it and it is easy to spin that wheel when I am intending to turn the camera off or on. I am very pleased with the richness of color that I am able to achieve in my photography using Pentax cameras. This is my third Pentax, the first was a point and shoot digital that was stolen out of my car, the second hit the pavement and I plan to send in for repair.

All I needed in one easy package. You can spend a ton more for one filter, but why? We are not professional photographers, but we like good photo's! These are prefect!

All my old SLR continue to work on a great camera. I got my first Asahi Pentax Spotmatic in Japan in 1967. I will be a loyal Pentax customer til I am pushing up daisys

I am a beginner, amateur photographer and ordered this camera to shoot my first wedding. It was a low light wedding with soft backlighting and candlelight and I shot most of the images without the flash as the bride and groom wanted to capture the ambiance of the low light. It performed perfectly and when I did use the flash it did not wash out the soft lighting and the bride's dress was a brilliant white. I took over 400 pictures and only had to delete a handful of them. Amazingly fast focus. I am very pleased with my new camera.

Although this is an "entry-level" dslr it is packed with features. If you are considering your first dslr and don't want to break the bank, consider this camera!
