Well, this was not expected. I purchased this phone for the wife but wasn't sure if she'd like it as she's not into technology. As of last week, she didn't want to get on the smartphone wagon as she deemed them too complicated to use. As some reviewers have stated, the OS is so simple that she doesn't seem to be able to stop playing with it. The biggest benefit for her is that, and I quote:"I don't have to do anything to see what everyone is doing!, I can just look at the home screen". Well, good for her. Also, I guess the read-text feature is also a plus as she's not one to use a blue-tooth device while driving-hence why she never picks up the phone or answer calls until she's able. So, since she's not likely to post any reviews I figure I'd do it for her to provide good feedback for both future/prospective consumers and manufacture alike:1)Phone seems to work great (I guess we received one of the units not affected by current network issues)2)Screen resolution looks great. I'm not sweating 1080P or HDMI connectivity here. I'll reserve those expectations for my TV3)From what I can gathered from her, reception is better at her work. Full bars compared to her co-workers' 2 bars (IPhone 4s/Droide phones)at the same location. "Keep in mind she didn't mentioned what carriers her friends were using, so for all we know she works close to an AT&T tower".4)Taking a picture seems to be easier for her, although I can confirm the the auto feature works best while being in the outside environment vs. indoors. I'm not sure if an update can fix that so I supposed I'd wait.5) Local scout seems to be a winner for her as well.6) Volume level seems to be good.7) She's not into Apps so I guess that from her point of view she's fine as all she needs is her banking App.Conclusion:Bottom line is that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so I can't say that it is better looking than my IPhone, although it does feel more rigid so dropping it by accident should not be cause of alarm. My IPhone on the other hand...She's loving it, so I'm loving it. And With the pending $100.00 credit I'm loving it even more as it turned out to be free. Although there is no sense in letting her know that. ;)Although I'm pretty sure the build quality and OS functionality will not disappoint anyone, features and overall existing ecosystem might be an issue. Please review carefully for what "matters to you" as an individual so you can "educationally" vote on the pros/cons before committing to a purchase/contract.I really hate to see negative reviews about things that based on spec sheets where not available to begin with.Let's remember to keep the reviews objective and not follow any Manufactures blindly. Make them about "YOUR" experiences.Bottom line is that to any company, being MS, Apple or Android, we're just consumers and all they're after is our money. That's why they're called "BUSINESSES". Let's return the favor and hold them accountable for promised features to keep the market fresh with new innovations and better customer service going forward. Competition is key! Thanks,

After latest Over The Air update from Nokia to FP2 version crashes stopped. So now I can use qualities of this phone without compromises.I can only say:1. This phone has outstanding build and material quality, if you grab it by hand you simply feel quality and hardness of material. It is every time pleasure to hold it in hand.2. Outstanding display. After while of usage you simply forget lower resolution, it is really not needed for watching movies or daily work. You will only see perfect contrast and colors. This thing is really usable on direct sunlight. What you can do with 1200+ pixels if you simply not see them outside...3. Real multitasking. I love way I can switch my applications anytime and always find them in state I let them. This is not working on Android, iOS or WP...4. Perfect sound, compare it to other phones and you will be surprised how good is sound in speaker, or how good other side is hearing you because of your quality microphone.5. Data under control. I found only with Symbian possible to connect to data network even in roaming. With this phone you can control every byte sent. No automatic updates, annoying adds.6. Fast and reliable Nokia Maps.7. Multimedia device, perfect pictures, perfect Full HD videos even with 3x zooom, perfect sound. Playing Full HD videos without problems8. Real HDMI output, you just connect phone to TV and can watch videos and pictures in Full HD. You can even use phone on TV screen in 640x360 mode.9. Better battery usage than other systems. You can get 1-4 days of standby without charging from this device.10. Pentaband, you can forget frequencies, bands, it will work for voice and fast data all around globe.11. Symbian is not closed system like iOS, WP, you can enjoy freedom with your data in your phone. Connect it as you wish, Bluetooth, WiFi, SD, NFC...This device is really high end feeling. Durable, showing quality everywhere. So now I'm changing my review to 5 stars............Hello, I bought this item 5 weeks ago. This phone is SW or HW defective and it is restarting and crashing very frequently, few times per day, when internet connection is lost WiFi or 3G/2G.It is almost not usable for daily work, IM, internet access.Nokia is playing dead bug though problem is serious, affecting many users. Here is link for official Nokia page discussion about this problem.[...]Do not buy this phone if you are not accepting risk of daily freezes, crashes, not usability of 3G..

The Nokia 808 PureView is a premium device! Beautiful! Excellent construction, elegant finish, nice to hold on hand! High quality materials! Not cheap plastic feel as most high end smartphones. The best camera, for me, it replaces my camcorder and my digital camera very well. The screen reproduces colors and images beautifully, and what amaze me is that you can see it clearly outside under the sun.You can create up to 6 different desktops with 6 different backgrounds. I use one for all my preferred contacts, one for my games, one for music, one for my family foto, one for gallery and the main desktop for clock time, weather, messaging, etc.In Nokia Store I found the applications and games to suit my needs, for example I have downloaded Opera browser, Nokia Battery Monitor, Skype, Ebbudy messanger, Nokia Internet Radio, Nokia Trailers, Gravity, Spotify, Accuweather, Pick Sticks, Angry Birds, Gems, Maze Classic, Fruit Ninja, Shrekkart, Need for Speed, etc.To obtain clear pictures easily, when using the camera, just tap on the screen the place where you want to focus the camera and then take the picture.I would like to see more Nokia Belle updates, it is a friendly OS and I like all the features included like:- 41 MP Camera- Full HD 1080p Recording- Multitasking- FM Transmitter- FM Radio- Dolby Sound- GPS- NFC- Bluetooth- Pentaband- ClearBlack display- Support for a Bluetooth Mouse and a Keyboard- Rich Recording- Micro HDMI output- 3.5 mm audio jack output- Night clock as a stand by screen- DLNA for watching video on your HD TV- MicroSIM and 64GB MicroSD card support (up to 80GB storage).- Clock alarms- All the basic functions for a smartphone: SMS, MMS, WiFi, Email, Calendar, music and video players, Nokia Maps, Office Suite, calculator, file manager, Nokia Belle Updates, Adobe Reader, Notes, Clock, Image Viewer, Camera, Nokia Store, etc.And of course, the 41 Megapixel camera!!!8MP, 5MP and 3MP for normal use.38 MP for a whole view.Pictures taken with this phone have a great detail, real colours and you can zoom to see many details!!And the good news, you can adjust many setting to suit your needs or use automatic mode for casual use.As a comment, before Nokia 808 PureView I was using a Galaxy Note. Note is a good phone but Nokia 808 PureView is a great smartphone!- Nokia 808 has well placed the volume buttons, easy to operate compared with Galaxy Note.- The Nokia 808 lock button feels good. In the Galaxy Note sometimes is annoying to operate.- The Galaxy Note back button is badly placed, it is very easy to accidentally press it.- Camera button on Nokia 808 PureView is a plus.- The size, excellent to carry it everywhere. All functionalities in the same package!!!

I don't even know where to start. I've had my phone for over a day now and I'm completely thrilled with the product. Best place to start is with describing the solid construction. Use of polycarbonate body feels really sturdy and makes me not cringe if I dropped the phone. Screen is beautiful and the colors just pop out. Given how vibrant the screen is, I haven't really noticed a huge difference when reading kindle books on the Nokia device even when comparing it to my iPad 3. OS is smooth and fast. No clue why reviewers are so hung up on the phone being single core. For most of the rest of the population that chooses their phones based on experience, the rest of us won't notice. Live tiles are a breeze to use and make getting things done better. Speakerphone is loud and clear. When I'm on the speakerphone, people can't tell that I'm on it. This phone is stable, stable, stable. No more rebooting like my two other samsung Android phones when I'm trying to make a phone call. No more laggy performance even though I shut down every app and made certain nothing was running in the background. Even listening to online radio on Wifi is more stable on this device. Only negative thing I can say about the device is that the app ecosystem is less than iOS and android, but I've found adequate enough replacements that it's not that big a barrier. For example, WP7 doesn't have Pandora, but I've found iheartradio to be a better product anyways. Some of that is made up for by the great Nokia specific WP7 apps. Nokia Drive is fantastic. Imagine turn by turn directions with maps that can be downloaded (no data hog worries here) for over 100 countries with spoken directions in at least 20 languages / accents (Urdu anyone?). Maybe one other thing is the camera underperforms given what I had expected from a Zeiss camera, but overall it's okay versus other camera phones. Colors are average, but photos are actually pretty sharp. Speed to take a photo is a bit on the slow side versus iPhone 4S my wife has.Regardless of the situation with apps, at the end of the day, the killer application for any smartphone is voice. I can't even begin to express how thrilled I am with the reception on the phone. There is a spot on my drive back home that I used to ALWAYS drop coverage on the iPhone and Samsung Android phones. I drove right by and kept the conversation going. It was like I was on my verizon phone. The conversation always used to get cut off when I'd pull up into the garage and walk into the elevator in my building. With this phone, the reception was crystal clear with absolutely no degradation in the signal. While other folks may be amazed by the pizzazz of more apps and dual cores, I just want a phone that works. This phone works with few hiccups and shows what happens when a smartphone actually functions as a phone. I used to think the reason why I kept dropping calls was because AT&T had an inferior network, but after having this phone, I've decided it was because I had the wrong phone.

Let me start with the good, the camera and the apps are good. However, his phone is a fluke. I began to use this phone just over a month ago and several times the phone just freeze up and power off like it has a mind of its own. Today, for more than two minutes, I could not tell what was happening, the screen was black it would not turn on even though I did not turn it off. Then it powered back on all by itself. I bought this phone unlocked so I could use it without a contract. I think it is still connected to AT&T because the carrier I am with is unable to unlock the section where I can get picture text. I would not buy another one since AT&T seems to have a monopoly on them. I was wondering if I can go into their store so they can tell me how to unlock the picture text part of it. I believe it would be better to buy a phone that is not connected to any carrier and there would be no problem. I get drop calls in places where people with the same carrier doesn't them so I have to blame the phone. Because of all the problems I have with this phone, I would not recommend it to anyone unless I just happen to get one with a fault. The reason I bought it, is because I love the Nokia brand because they are usually last longer than others but now I have second thoughts about them.

Fantastic mobile phone. Resolution very good. Operating system is Windows 8 which is better than android. Although it has a 6" screen, the battery life is better than my old iPhone 4. Any app can be closed down by one touch, no app works in the background (which is the case with android syatem) therefore it helps to extend battery life. I love it, every thing is large and clear.

The design is pretty cool but other than that the phone is a piece of crap; after plugging in some earphones to listen music the sound and the speaker stopped working, troubleshooting the issue I found that many people are having the same issue and that Nokia, Windows or AT&T are not doing anything about it to fix the problem.hopefully I can get a replacement or at least have it repaired. I do not recommend this specific model at all, perhaps other models are ok but I will not buy a WP anymore.Hope this works for other people thinking about buying this crap phone.

I received my Lumia 900 on Friday afternoon after pre-ordering through AT&T. I can't believe how beautiful the device is. The screen is amazing (even with the lower resolution of 800*480). I've been getting at least 16 hours of frequent use and phone calls on a single charge. This includes 8 live tiles, push notifications for email, gaming, web surfing and playing music (stored locally). I've been able to read RSS feeds clearly in direct sunlight. All of the buttons on one side of the phone is just a brilliant design. The weight is perfectly balanced from top to bottom. The Nokia apps are beautiful as well as functional (although ESPN should load slightly faster). I do wish that the Nokia Drive app integrated with search and contacts instead of having to rely on Bing Maps but I have navigation built in the car so it really isn't a problem in my situation. The call quality is amazing on AT&T in lower NY (NYC and Long Island). I have not dropped a call. The camera is good with ample light and good enough in low light situations. The speaker sounds really good and the earpiece has the perfect amount of volume and sound quality. This phone never lags even when I'm playing games and talking on the phone. I've been using the platform for over a year so I already feel like a pro with this OS. My mother just got an iPhone 4S and can't believe the screen on the Lumia 900. Nokia designed a really really good phone. Some people complained about a weird metallic sound when the phone is vibrating but I haven't experienced anything of that nature at all. I do wish the micro USB port was on the bottom but since I only have to charge the phone at night before sleep and I sync with Zune wirelessly it hasn't approached annoying at all. This phone is an insane value as a result of the build quality. I highly recommend this phone to anyone thinking of trying Windows Phone. This is my second Windows Phone. I've used iOS (iPhone 4 and the 4S), Android (Evo 4G, Evo 3D and the Samsung Moment), WebOS (Original Palm Pre), Windows Mobile (all the way up to 6.5) and even a Blackberry. The Windows Phone OS is the most fun OS I've used so far. It's modern, extremely stable and MS is very persistent with the development of the OS and the hardware. You won't find all of the trendy new apps in the marketplace but you really won't miss them after a couple of weeks with the OS. It does so many ordinary things with such a common sense approach as opposed to many other platforms. Integrating social networks into the OS is ingenius. Cloud storage is built into the phone itself for pictures and MS Office. Zune is gorgeous on the desktop (MAC only gets the desktop sync client while PC users get to enjoy the full application) and elegeant on the phone. The Live Tiles may be "too simple" for some but I honstly can't see myself not having them. Going from a locked phone to snapping a picture without any lag, the consistently smooth UI and the low cost of entry makes this OS a real value.

I mainly use this phone to text, use wi-fi, and take photos and videos. It's nice not having to carry both a camera and cell phone, especially in the summer when I don't have extra pockets from a jacket. The photo quality is amazing as long as you can keep the camera steady. Warning: this phone may make you addicted to mobile photography! Camera shake becomes an issue when you try to zoom because the movements become magnified. Nevertheless, lossless zoom with a possibility of slight blurriness is still better than no zoom. To reduce camera shake, I recommend using the touch screen shutter button instead of the physical button because pushing the physical button causes more phone movement due to perpendicular motion relative to the lens vs parallel. The phone is heavier than phones of similar dimensions, but the extra weight helps to keep the camera steady. Audio quality from the video camera is also amazing. It can record in stereo unlike Iphone 5, which records in mono. Be careful not to cover the speakers while filming (the two small holes, one on each side of the phone); otherwise the sound will be muffled. The free voice-navigated gps and maps is a bonus (no data plan required), and so is the FM transmitter, but I don't use these features often. The main issues I have are not deal breakers. There is no direct HDR support, but there is bracketing and a free app for merging the images (HDRapp). Web page loading can be slow and the small keyboard buttons in portrait mode can making typing slow. Apps are limited and app support will continue to decline because of Windows 8; e.g. no Skype video chat, only voice chat. There's Facebook and Twitter, but no Instagram. Surprisingly, City Lens beta still works with FP2.For those who use mobile data, from the Nokia support forums, apparently there is a bug that requires 3.5g/hspa to be disabled to prevent the phone from freezing. Currently, there does not appear to be a permanent solution, so I cannot recommend this phone for mobile data users. Since I do not have a data plan, disabling 3G gives me extra battery life to use wi-fi and the camera.

I have had Samsung phones, where the screens are nice, but the plastic bodies come apart all of the time and feel flimsy. I have had iPhones, where the user interface is just so boring, even with all those apps that cost you money. The Nokia has wonderful Nokia apps already installed, such as Nokia Drive, which gives you directions while you are driving with a talking attendant, it is super accurate and fun to use. You get Nokia Music, which is a free music service with 1500 playlists put together by expert music people, very good and it's free! You get ESPN, Nokia City Lens, which is where you hold your camera up while you are walking a city street and it will give you information about the area and what you are pointing at, it is really cool. And there are other free Nokia apps as well, like Camera Extras, that let you do things like take action shots and panorama photos. There's a Six Flags app, PGA Tour, Contacts Transfer, The Caddie +, Univision, Groupon, Soundtracker that connects you to Internet Radio for free, let's you get concert tickets, look at lyrics, share comments with your friends on their music, et. There's Counters, that keeps track of calls and data usuage, Creative Studio, which is a photo editing app, and so much more!As a Windows Phone, you will have 7GB of Free Cloud Storage (which is the most for any Cloud Storage offered) for all your files and music and apps on Sky Drive, with the option to upgrade at a cost. The camera takes great pictures with the Carl Zeiss lense and there are ways to adjust you settings. The phone takes great 720p videos, which is a whole lot better than 1080p in a lesser camera. The Windows 7.5 user interface is super easy to use, and it is very pretty to look at. There are a ton of apps in the MarketPlace, and the most popular ones are there, many of them are free. The beutiful cyan body on this phone is a matte finish, so it doesn't show fingerprints, it is made of polycarbonate, which is the same hard plastic that eye glass frames are made. If you were to get a deep scratch the color goes all the way through, so it won't show. Even the USB Charger has a modern style, with it's round geometric shape outlet plug. All in all this is one hot phone.

There appears to be a well known problem with the Nokia 808 connections to the cell network, as documented here:No web-links allowed it appears, so please check the Nokia forums/discussions pages under Nseries. Here is basically what happens to me on AT&T, in California:After the phone has been on "standby" for a length of time (hours not minutes) it get's into a state where no incoming calls can be received.I was getting people saying they tried to ring me and there was no answer! When the phone gets into this state the following happen:1. If I try to ring myself from another phone my 808 never rings, nor do I get the answer/hangup buttons, its as if I am ringing another person! (Even though I can hear a ringing tone on the other phone!)2. Looking at the phone it shows a strong signal. (A slight tell-tale is that the signal strength no longer varies, if I walk to a location that I know has a strong signal, it doesn't change, if I walk to a location that I know has a weak/no signal, it doesn't change!)3. Incoming text messages do not arrive until I reboot.4. Outgoing text messages fail to send, they just sit in the outbox until I reboot the phone.5. Data connections over the cell network fail to connect.6. Rebooting the phone fixes the issue for a few hours. It is very hard to spot that the phone has entered this state. So this was happening for my entire first month of ownership and I had no idea, as I don't receive many phone calls anyway! This happens AT LEAST twice a day, based on how often I've "caught" the phone in this state. But there is NO visual indication that the phone has "dropped off" the cell network, the phone works fine over wifi at this point and the cell signal strength indicator is still showing a strong signal.Basically this phone can not be used to reliably receive incoming calls, the camera however is brilliant! Unfortunately it really is just a point-and-shoot camera as the phone features just do not work reliably!I would STRONGLY advise anyone to look elsewhere for a phone! Nokia has not even acknowledged this is an issue yet, and I doubt a fix is anywhere near ready!PS. There is a work-around that virtually eliminates the problem, and that is to configure the phone to connect over 3G only, not 3.5G (i.e. disable HSPA+) But I have had it get into the same state once even with this work-around!

Been using a Cyan Lumia 900 for about a month...and I love it! I really, really like the Windows OS. It is clean and fresh and simple and elegant. Stale buttons (like on Android and IOS) just don't appeal to me. The live tiles are awesome. The whole operating system is smooth and snappy and has wonderful little designs that are easy to take for granted, but add to the whole experience (like the arrow at the top right flipping from right to left when you slide over, or the typography "spilling" onto the next page, instead of being center-bolded at the top. Also, I can't overstate how beautiful the phone itself is. I get complements on it all the time. The cyan color is bold but in an understated kind of way; it differentiates the phone without being overwhelming. And, with the cyan unibody, the black screen really "pops."The phone itself is tough. I am hard on my phones, but this is the first phone I have ever felt comfortable using without a case. It feels like it was built with care, and it has the weight of something well made. The unibody design feels good in my hand and walks the line well between sticky and slippy (with "sticky" meaning you can't get it out of your pocket and "slippy" meaning its like a bar of soap in your hands). And the toughness isn't just a personal feeling: For some hard evidence check out the youtube video where the guy hammers in a nail using the Lumia's screen without as much as scratching the phone [...]. I for one am really happy that the phone doesn't need a case, because it is truly too gorgeous to hide in a beefy otter box.Other great features: XBox Live games; Zune music player with Zune Pass (LOVE this. Get a zune pass. 10 bucks a month, unlimited music); Nokia specific apps (like Nokia Drive); App Store (there are PLENTY of apps to choose from, don't listen to people who say otherwise); 4gLTE is noticeably faster than 3G; tethering ability; integration with 3rd party apps like Facebook, Linked In, etc.; awesome email and calendar application; phone charges REALLY fast (like a half hour gets you from low battery to good to go).Negatives: Camera, which was highly doubted, has disappointed me. It works, but isn't close to replacing a standalone camera. Battery, which is also highly touted, has been average at best (although I am an admittedly heavy user)Overall: Get this phone! Highly recommended. I did a lot of research, and there is absolutely no phone that is a better value. I would have bought this phone over any Android or Iphone at $200, but at $50 or free it is a no brainer. You won't be disappointed.

Arrived exactly as described - Inserted SIM - powered it up, instant service! I love the Windows OS 7.5 - the user interface could not be more simple, attractive and intuitive! Skype app (downloaded from windows store) using WI-fi works perfectly. Signal: Good reception using either Etisalat/ROSHAN or AWCC service - plenty of supported apps left in the Nokia store...This is the best smart phone I have ever owned, EVER. I like it slightly better than my New LG Optimus G(!) which I just purchased for stateside use. The screen on this Lumina 900 is beyond HD compliant and quite bright outdoors even in direct sunlight - a very important feature! Battery life is as expected while WI-fi and GPS are enabled, BUT it charges rapidly -especially if using USB 3.0 rapid charge -then it's 'incredulous charging speed'. The phone is comfortable in the hand, not too large, perfect actually for my ordinary male-sized hand; the subtle black texture on the back is of a no-slip design; convenient button placement (especially power on/off); responsive touch/tactile screen. The Carl Zeiss Camera has a lot of available useful adjustments as well as 'set it and forget it' AUTO settings - Tested: picture quality is excellent - video quality is HD. Overall: Just Perfect - I purchased this as refurbished and unlocked for travel abroad. I paid only $209 USD - worth every cent - This phone came with a brand new packaged micro USB charger; The seller surpassed my expectations with this one! Much appreciated! Will buy again from you as a trusted seller! 'iPhonepros'

I was a little skeptical getting a Windows phone and that too a Nokia. I know Nokia made solid phones in the past but in recent times has lagged behind HTC, Samsung and the likes. I couldn't decide between the Lumia and HTC One X and also wasn't sure if I should wait for the Galaxy SIII. I decided to get the Lumia and have absolutely no regrets.Microsoft has done a wonderful job with the new OS. It is extremely fluid, touch sensitivity is amazing. Even though it has a single core processor, the phone is very fast. Ans seriously, I don't think one will notice a huge difference between a Lumia and other dual/quadcore processors when it comes to daily stuff like browsing, using maps etc. The browser is really fast at loading pages but that I think is down to the ATT LTE network which may or may not be available in every region. The maps application on this phone is a definite selling point. WAY better than google maps. Just the way the application renders is wonderful. It is integrated with a number of features which will tell you nearby restaurants, places of interest with just a swipe. The phone is also integrated with social media apps like facebook and twitter. So if you're big on these then you won't have to sign in to different apps, its all integrated in one place. Sharing pictures on social media and via email is also very simple; no need to open apps etc you can share it directly after you click a picture.Camera quality is good, not the best but good enough for random stuff. So no complains there. It also has an actual camera button which can also start the camera application directly. The polycarbonate unibody feels really sturdy and smooth. Gives it a classy look. I have already dropped the phone a few times and there wasn't a scratch. The screen is tough too; its made of gorilla glass so it wont crack as easily as the iphone does.Windows marketplace cannot compete with the volume of apps on Android or apple app store. But the apps for lumia are quality. There are apps from Microsoft, third party apps and also some really cool and useful apps from Nokia. One downside is the battery life. Maybe its just the way I use it, but I have to charge my battery everyday. Its the only complain I have because my blackberry could go for 2-3 days on a single charge. But again with the hardware on this phone and the amount of data it eats, 24 hours of charge with a good amount of usage throughout the day is reasonable. So, if you can't decide whether you want this phone, I say please give it a shot. Chances are you'll fall in love with this phone!

The seller could write the phone P/N at product description. It will be easier to verify if the phone is really compatible with LTE 7 (2600MHz). I bought this to use in Brazil and using a local operator SIM card (Vivo) the 4G LTE mark doesn't blink. But using speedtest.net app, I done some speed measurements with it and for my (great) surprise, I had better speeds than my brazillian Nokia Lumia 820 on Vivo 4G network. Don't spend your money with Samsung's Galaxy S3 or S4, HTC One is the best Android Hi End smartphone. The screen and sound quality are unbelievable, the best in class.

I have been on here to support this phone before but now that i've had it for 2 months. I gotta to say I'm not at all impressed overall. I got a defective phone and by the time i realized the issue is a problem and not the type that goes away with use, I was told i couldn't get an exchange and i gotta go to nokia for repairs.I had the n8 before now. The n8 had lots of issues but it was the most practical for me of all nokias since 6230 or so.N8 could be charged either through the micro usb port or the ac at the bottom( very optimal for gps use) The 808 cannot be charged conviniently while being used as a gps on long distance trips.Apps are not particularly faster on it. I use facebook browser from pixelpipe as its the closest to the real facebook app on symbian in terms of look and html5 convergence. I was manageable on the n8 and not a breeze on the 808.These are the pressing issues for me personally and at this time and i am truly sick of defending nokia over their crappy job at putting customer complaints and requirements ontop of their todo list.I dont intend to use any cfw because i believe this should have been an improvement over the n8 but apparently not. On the n8 from PR1 to belle refresh, the OS got speed improvements that was very DRASTIC! and made the phone very much practically for anything if you've got the patience.Bottomline. If you are just coming to nokia and want to have a phone thats got a relatively the best camera and not seen on every tom, dick and harry, and its got the looks this is it right here. But, if you're like me upgrading from the history making n8, this isn't really an upgrade. Its just the camera and the slightly bigger screen that makes the big difference. Believe me when i say you'll completely ignore this warning for the 1st few months while you're still drooling over what amazing pictures the camera can take. Now that I am enjoying windows 8, i can't wait till i get a WP8 which is likely not anytime soon because i paid $625 for this and i gotta at least get a year and a halfs use off it.

I've been a WP7 user since the first day and love the OS. I've had the Samsung Focus and the Focus S and now the Lumia 900. The Lumia looks great, has a decent screen, and LTE speeds if available in your area. It also is the first WP7 phone to have visual VM which is a huge plus. Overall, it is a very good phone.Despite its attributes, it has some shortcomings that may cause me to return to the focus S. Firstly, the screen, while nice, falls short of the Focus S Super Amoled Plus screen which has more sub-pixels, nicer colors and a smoother finish. The Lumia screen has a rougher finish which makes swiping less fluid and which also renders the screen an awful, just about unacceptable, fingerprint and streak magnet. There is no keeping it clean. Some sort of protection film will be a must on this phone which I hate because they always reduce screen quality. The capacitive touch screen is slower and less responsive than the Focus S.[The following is solved with a case - see "update" below] Although sleek, the phone doesn't seem to fit as nicely in your hand and makes one-handed operation more difficult as the sleek polycarbonate body is slippery. This would likely improve with a rubber case which I was hoping to avoid on a phone this attractive. The volume rocker, power and camera buttons along the side could use better feedback as they feel a bit too shallow. Most importantly, the camera is inferior to most phones. I'm not sure what's going on, but the reports of the camera being dark and grainy are true. I suspect an update may help here as the camera should not be this bad on paper. The biggest plus here of course is the WP7 OS. Overall, if you haven't had a WP7 phone before, the OS is so good you're in for a treat and will be overjoyed with the Lumia and my rating for you is 4.5 stars. However, if you are looking to upgrade your existing WP7 phone which you are generally happy with, I'd hold off to see what is coming from Samsung later this year.***Update***I purchased the full black gel case from AT&T. Yes, it's too expensive at $20, but it's a gem. Fits perfectly, doesn't alter the appearance of the phone and has a full cut-out for the steel bezel for the Carl Zeiss lens on the rear. It makes one-handed operation very secure and gives better feedback for the buttons and rocker. However, I also bought the Moshi black screen protector. it's a bust and I will return it. Although it did totally eliminate the fingerprint issue, it came at the cost of viewing quality. Despite being billed as anti-glare, it renders the screen completely unviewable outdoors which is a strong point of the Nokia's screen in the first place. Even indoors it reduces the viewing quality since it is very thick and produces a hazy effect. Finally, it severely limits the viewing angle. Try another brand.

The phone I received is actually locked by at&t and not unlocked as it says. I asked the seller to send me an unlock code, but he would not respond. after reading some of the comments, I realized that I am not the only one that have been fooled by the phone descrption. Since I am in Angola, West Africa, it is not feasible to send the phone back, therefore I bought an unlock code for $46.6from [...]. It took 10 days to get the code, but the good thing is my phone is unlocked and working pretty well.

First,I love my phone. My first phone ever was a Nokia (the one from the Charlie's Angels Movie), then I switched to the Motorola Rockr (first phone with iTunes that I could find), then to the Samsung Blackjack I and II, and I've been an iPhone user ever since then. I've had my Nokia Lumia 900 for almost a month now, and I love it. The UI is beautiful, and very easy to navigate through, and I love having a dedicated "Back" and "Search" buttons. The phone has a great screen and feel. The $99 price is amazing, but I thought I found it for a steal on Amazon Wirless. I knew that I'd probably have to deal with some hassle for getting $50 off the price, but I was expecting the usual, having to wait on shipping etc. When I ordered my phone I received the usual emails confirming my order, then the next day I received an email that asked me to call customer service about my account (apparently my current texting plan with AT&T was not compatible with the new phone). I spoke to someone and explained that I wanted to keep everything the same (I still have unlimited data), but would change my text plan to unlimited as well. They ended up activating my new phone (which had shipped on a Friday, but I wouldn't get it until Tuesday) on Saturday. I was basically stuck for the weekend without a phone. I dealt with that, but when I finally received my phone AT&T had changed my data plan. I had already spoke to both AT&T and AmazonWireless and they assured me that it would not change. I had to get it switched back again. Then the voicemail was not set up, I had to call again to AT&T to get that corrected. THEN my phone DIED! I apparently had received a defective phone and it would no longer hold a charge after a week of use. I called Nokia, went to the AT&T store, but ultimately had to call AmazonWireless for a new phone. That phone was shipped on a Friday and received on Monday, another weekend without a phone. Ever since my phone has worked wonderfully, it was super easy to get all my contacts set up again (using Google's Exchange settings) and I still love my WindowsPhone. I have not had any other troubles with the phone itself.I would completely recommend this phone and even service from AT&T. If you choose to buy the phone from AmazonWireless, just know that your data plan will probably change, and any problems with your phone will probably need to go back to AmazonWireless to fix because they are not set up for returns at AT&T stores. They are VERY new to the wireless game, and their customer service is nothing like Amazon's usual customer service, I have never been treated so badly. If I had it to do over, I'd spend the extra $50 and buy it from an AT&T store.

After reading all the good reviews on Amazon, I decided to get myself a Lumia 900. The 900 is an excellent phone for its price. However, in my opinion it is not worth signing a two year contract for. Especially now that Windows Phone 8 is just around the corner and has tons of new features that will not be on this phone.Hardware review:It is a clean, good feeling phone. It is a big sluggish initializing apps but the specs are pretty low. The lack of removable storage is disappointing as is the battery life. The camera is much better than many other smartphone cameras that I have used. It takes decent photos, however if I was going on a vacation I would still pack my canon point-and-shoot. The three buttons are conveniently located on the bottom but do not illuminate so you might have to poke around if using the phone in the dark. Without the OS, I give the phone itself 3-stars.Software review:Windows Phone 7 (WP7)looks beautiful and I was eagerly anticipating getting a WP7 device. However, after using it for two months I am disappointed. First, many of the apps that I grew to love and use on my Android device are not in the MS marketplace. Although MS boasts about a continuously growing number of apps, they are most likely games or calculator apps. Some of the apps that they do have from major companies such as Yelp or Google are really crappy. The eBay one is pretty good but has a few issues such as not providing notifications for when a seller receives a question. I understand that this is not MS' fault, but for some reason companies are putting all of their best app developers on iOS and Android.WP7 lacks basic features that should be mandatory for smartphone devices. For example, you cannot load your own custom alarm or notifications. Just recently MS released an update that now allows the adding of custom ringtones. Another annoyance is the volume control. You cannot set the volume individually for calls and ringers. They have a one volume fits all approach. So if you are in a quiet place and want a low ringer, than you will have a really low call volume. Which means you have to increase the volume during your call and then decrease it after. The navigation is almost useless since there are no filters and it tends to take you the longer way (assuming it gets it right). There are other little annoyances but I am going to summarize this part by giving my recommendation of not buying a WP7 device and waiting for WP8. I give the software 0 stars.Bottom LineWait for WP8 or get yourself an Android or iOS device.

Pre-Ordered my Lumia on day 1 of pre-orders, payed the full retail off-contract at an AT&T store and decided to give it a chance.I am absolutely blown away by this device. I had been putting off trying out Windows Phone due to my investment in Android, but I have to say that knowing what I do now I regret not making the switch sooner. To get a couple of things out of the way; yes, there is a relative paucity of applications available compared to iOS and Android. Also, yes, there is a learning curve to the device if you're coming off of a steep time frame with Android. The other end of this though is that time will solve both problems as I've picked up the device very well within a day or two and with the sales the Lumia experienced we should see a resurgence of interest in the platform and probably a boost to the available marketplace. That being said though, there's very little I've come across I would say is truly lacking in the marketplace. I do miss Pandora to some extent, but I have a Zune account so that's a minor annoyance which was easily remedied. The screen is gorgeous with rich blacks and smooth, bright and accurate color reproduction. I'd heard middling reviews on the camera but so far it's been great though as unforgiving as any other camera if you take a bad picture. I would place it at least the equal of any other cellphone camera I've tried, including the iPhone 4 (possibly 4S) and the more recent Android offerings from Samsung. The browsing experience is great even though I don't have LTE local to me - yet. We're slated for a release here in Northeast Ohio.Heft and balance in the hand is great, though getting used to a more slender device (first I've used in a long time without a sliding keyboard) has been another learning curve, but the feel is amazing. It has some mass to it, but you rarely feel it as it is spread out neatly across the device and it's spread well throughout so you don't end up with a top-heavy experience.Battery life has been absolutely astounding. I would struggle to get through even an eight hour workday on my previous device - I went almost the entire weekend without charging my Lumia. Took it off the charger on Friday evening and plugged it in Sunday morning, almost 36 hours to the minute after the fact and there was still some room to go on time. This is with frequent texting, use as a music player in the car, web browsing, a few calls... she holds up with aplomb and refuses to die. This is, bar none, the best phone I have ever owned and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to step into smartphones new and fresh or has been using them for quite a while. As the title of the review suggests, it was everything I was hoping for and then even a little more and I doubt I could get any happier with the handset than this.

I have been using this phone for almost 2 months now, and I like it. I switched over from an iPhone 4 because I was tired of the small screen and the boreing iPhone experience. On the Lumia, the screen is nice and sharp. I actually compared the same online picture with my dad's iPhone 4s, and the colors looked much more acurate and sharp, the iPhone's "Retina display" looked washed out, not to mention how much better it looks with the bigger screen. So, dispite the iPhone's higher resoulution display, the Lumia's screen looks much better. Now for the os, I was a little unsure about the Windows Phone os, but I actually like it now. Its smooth, and straight forward. I understand that this phone won't be upgradeable to WP8, but this phone won't be compatable with the new features like NFC, and HD display anyways. I think the os will be much better when the 7.8 update will be available (an update this phone will get) because I really want to make the live tiles smaller. Right now, I feel like it takes forever to get to an app because you have to scroll through a bunch of large tiles. The performance of this phone is solid. Some maybe unsure about the single core processor, but the speed is as fast, if not faster than the iPhone 4s. It definately is faster over the network, becuase the 4s isn't even compatable with 4g lte. You also will find the call quality to be great, and the earpiece is loud enough. I mention this becuase I used to have a Sony Ericsson phone that had such a low volume earpiece, that you couldn't hear anything if you were in an area that was only a little loud. Battery life is great, it can last me a whole day with heavy usage. The camera is okay. It takes great pictures in well lit situations, but it doesn't do real well in low ligh situations such as in a restaurant. The led flash helps a little, but not much. One feature that is great is the Nokia Play To app which you can play pictures and video wirelessly to a DLNA device such as a TV, or blu- ray player. I had no problems playing pictures, but videos always freeze. Hopefully they fix the issue soon in the next app update. Finally, the build quality of the phone is excellent. Its make out of plastic, but it feels solid. It feels great to hold, and isn't slippery like the iPhone.Overall, this is a great phone. I would recomend it to anyone looking for a new experience, instead of the same old Android or iPhone. You won't be dissapointed with this device.

I thought I was getting a good deal with this phone, that being the only reason I spent so much money on it. But as I began to use my phone more and more it started to glitch on me. This started happening as early as three weeks from the first time I used it. Since then I've had to reboot it three times, the Bing button keeps popping up even though I am not hitting it at all. I'll have it rotated to avoid that and it still happens. The same thing happens with the voice command. The sound won't come off so when it happens in class my phone is always the loudest thing and it wont turn off until I tell it cancel or find another way to cancel it. My screen has frozen, the camera button doesn't always work and I'm tired off yelling at my phone to cancel the multiple times it throws the voice command at me. I've counted more than ten times its repeated the voice command consequitively without me touching the key. This phone is not worth it. I wish I had returned it early but I thought it was something that would work itself out somehow. I was being too optimistic.

First, the phone is $39.99 here on Amazon and then on top of that amazing savings, Nokia is giving everyone who buys it before Sunday a $100 credit on their AT&T account. I'm no math whiz but I just made $60 by upgrading to an amazing phone! WooHoo!I have seen and used the Lumia 900 at the local AT&T store. I've read all of the tech reviews. I love it and I'm confident that when it arrives this weekend or early next week, I will be extremely happy. If I'm not happy, I promise to come runny back to this review and warn everyone of potential issues.I have been a Window's 7 user since it first came out with my Samsung Focus. I was a user since before we had cut and paste so I know the OS well. I've owned others phones too and Windows smokes them all. I was with BlackBerry since the Pearl (and had the Curve and 8830). I had an iPhone 3Gs and have an iPhone 4s for work. I have an Android tablet. I know how to use all of these operating systems and the Windows 7.5 Mango OS beats them all hands-down.The Windows OS takes advantage of side whipping finger movements to navigate you through applications features which feels more natural that the iOS clicking all of these tiny buttons at the top of the screen. The picture is very clear and Windows saves a ton of juice by using a black background on most screens. The live tiles are amazing too! It even updates someone's facebook picture on their live tile when they change it! I love pining things to the home screen. I can scroll down 20+ lines with the flick of a finger because of all of the apps and people I have pinned! The company I work for uses GOOD to sync iOS, Android, and Windows OS with corporate email accounts. The GOOD application was just released today and has a few bugs but works great overall! The camera with the Carl whatever is really nice too. I use my cell to take all my pictures so I'm super excited to get my hands on the 900. It took suck clear and focused pictures and video in the AT&T store! The app store is still a little weak but a benefit is that I don't have to troll through all those junk apps! Some of the apps need a little refining but most work very well and take full advantage of the Windows 7 Mango way of doing things. As a BlackBerry lover, my cellphone joy comes from being able to communicate and organize my contacts and appointments. Windows OS does it so much better! Windows OS is what the BlackBerry should have evolved to and more.I really can't say enough about the Windows OS and Lumia 900. I would really recommend giving it a try with this device and for this price. You could always switch back to your old phone and return this one if you're allergic to doing things better and enjoying your phone more. :)

It's a decent phone with a good camera. I've enjoyed the operating system as a change of pace from iOS and Android... if I were rating just the phone, I would probably give it a 3 1/2. Unfortunately, I have to give it a lower score than that because of the deceptive marketing on this item. The phone I received was not unlocked, and on closer inspection has AT&T branding. I bought it from DailyCelluar, and I believe that they intentionally lied to me to scam me out of additional money. I would leave this negative review with them, except that too much time has elapsed for me to do that.

I've had several androids and have purchased several iterations of iphones for my boyfriend and serve as his IT department. I absolutely love the switch to my Lumina 900. There are a couple of apps I miss, but all the folks discussing the lack of apps are crazy. I've downloaded hundreds and there really are only a few that matter. Spotify is one of them, and it works quite well on my Windows Phone. What I like most about my Windows phone:- Moving from app to app. It is just a fun user interface.- The automatic text reading via bluetooth in my car. I was totally freaked out the first time my phone got a text while I was driving and a lovely voice asked me if I wanted it read. Then guided me through responding in a matter of seconds. The way it worked was flawless. I love this feature.- Calendar. I and my family are crazy complicated google calendar users with multiple work, joint, and personal calendars. WP7 is awesome. My appointments actually get entered when I enter them. It is easy to do. And super quick to glance at. I love the calendar on this so much more than my android or iphone.- Skydrive. I am now addicted to saving documents in my skydrive folder and reading them in meetings. Microsoft really did this right. I'm still trying to figure out where my boyfriend's photos go sometime with that whole icloud thing.- Email. I hate email. I hate it. I try to keep Outlook and gmail closed as much as possible when I'm at my desk. So I depend on email while in transit. It just seems to work on Lumina. I can respond to those that just need a quick note and easily move the ones requiring thought to my Important box. It just works.- Podcasts and audio books. The one app I miss is Audible. I started listening to lots of podcasts. Then I found some easy instructions for how to upload audiobooks as podcasts and I don't really miss Audible. I'm sure it is will be on WP7 soon.- Phone and voicemail. I actually like talking on this. After too many frustrations with the quality of past mobile calls, and calls dropping, my default is always to use my desk phone. I'm actually picking this thing up to make calls. Imagine that. I actually think it is easier to hear people with this. And it is easy to put in a headset.- Love the Netflix app. I know, there is the ipad laying around. But I'm finding myself looking forward to a little Netflix time before bed with my Lumina.Go for the Lumina. It truly is impressive. It is awesome to hold, almost cuddly....I have a new Atrix 2 if anyone wants it.

OK, so I own the Lumia 900 and have since the May release date. While it is a stylish phone of good build quality, you cannot judge a book by it's cover - which is the only place where the quality of this phone shines. It's pretty, but.....So, Microsoft made a phone that is already obsolete, cannot use ANY instant messaging applications or multitask properly, and has numerous flaws that are just add up to a frustrating experience. Not to mention that suppliers and third party companies are avoiding the Windows phone platform almost entirely. Go to the electronics store and try comparing how many accessories you can find for all the other phones with what you can find for the Lumia 900 - it's beyond sad. And the software!! I had a Blackberry that ran the mobile MS Office applications with better functionality and feature-set than the MS hardware, MS software combination of the Lumia. And MS owns Skype but wait, wait... nope, it doesn't work on the Lumia. (unless you disable your screen from timing out {dead battery} and keep Skype as the running app on the screen {switch to another app and Skype logs out}) Running one app works fine, but how smart is it to install an instant messaging application on a phone that cannot run instant messaging while you're doing something like, let's say, looking at the home screen of the phone to see what time it is. Pathetic.I'm a sucker who used to have faith in Microsoft products, so I gave this phone a chance and believed all the fan-boy hyped reviews. Repeat - I am the sucker. Please, don't join the crowd of disappointed people who are now wondering if they can find anyone stupid enough to buy a used Lumia off of them so that they can escape to the capable platform of Android or, dare I say it, Apple (and I hate Apple). If you love a pretty box and don't care about functionality - go for it, but if you actually want a capable smart-phone please save yourself before it's too late and forget this phone ever existed (like MS already did).

There are many great points to this phone, really, it's the best phone I've ever picked up. There are also places in which to improve on, as on any phone. The Lumia 900 is the most beautiful phone I've had the opportunities to lay my eyes on. The pictures don't do it justice and you really need to hold this in your hands to truly appreciate it. Anyone complaining about thinness is kidding themselves and trying to complain about something. The 11.5 mm thickness is just fine and feels thinner than it is.I'm sick of people complaining about the display. The display is absolutely beautiful, and is fully functional outside, something I can't say about any other phone. The resolution is fine. Yes, it would be fantastic if 720p, but not a deal breaker, or even close to it. It looks beautiful and is fully readable. Stop saying it's awful, because it's not.The cameras are where Nokia can improve, even possibly through software update. It takes fantastic pictures in well-lit areas (as well as the 4s in my opinion), but subpar in low light. I'm also sick of people saying the video recording is awful, because it isn't. 1080p is nice, but 720p is just fine, again it is not a deal breaker.Reception is fantastic, have not had problems where I've seen others have problems (iPhone users). Call quality is great. The speaker in my opinion is very loud, I keep it at the lowest setting most of the time, and my hearing is not great.Performance is fantastic on this device. So much faster than the original Focus I've had and every Android smartphone I've seen my friends with.Software, of course, is fantastic as well. I love Windows Phone. It is the best smartphone OS out there. There are of course areas in which it can improve, but that's true of all platforms. Even at the current point in time, it beats out iOS, and definitely beats out Android (and yes, I've used 4.0).Battery life is relatively great. The battery doesn't just disappear while not even using it like it does on Android. It easily gets me through a whole day, and I live in an LTE area. This is what I would say is medium-heavy use though. I'm sure if I was using it heavily, it would be on the edge of getting me through a whole day's use.I'm also sick of the way people talk about the ecosystem (not enough room to explain). Yes, it is lagging behind, that's obvious given it didn't arrive until 2 years after the others. There are some applications that I wish it had, but nothing deal-breaking. There are alternatives to a lot of thing, which is nice. I wish there were more official apps, but that's it. The OS has built-in my most important features and uses that make it far more efficient than the other platforms.

I won't repeat all of the features/specs in the product description and reviews here, but I'll list the top 3 things I love about this phone:Viewable screen under a hot Texas sun:---------------------------------------One thing that has plagued essentially every smartphone I've owned is that I can't view it under direct sunlight. This is true of my old Samsung Focus and a friend's new Samsung Flash. We were at a car show and while I was tapping the screen of my Lumia 900 (with 8mp Carl Zeiss lens) and focusing and seeing what I was taking pictures of, he was blindly pressing his camera button and tapping his screen, in hopes that he actually took a picture. Then, we wanted to see what the date was in 2 weeks. He absolutely could not view his screen and see his calendar. My Nokia was easily readable and we had to use my phone to look up a date, settle a bet on the amount of horsepower the Ferrari we were snapping pics of and find the closest Starbucks to redeem the bet. :)Faster than my Samsung Focus:-------------------------------We have an IP camera over the crib of our newborn. I used to use my Samsung Focus as a baby monitor and 50% of the time, the app that I use would give timeout messages and or take a few seconds to start streaming a picture. With my Nokia Lumia 900, not a single timeout message and the app streams a picture immediately (we know this because it displays the current hour-minute-SECONDS). I double-know this because my wife also has a Samsung Focus and she has the same timeout issues. 3G (Focus)/4G (Lumia900) is not a factor because both phones use the same WIFI network in the house.Speaks Caller ID/Spoken Text Messages and DICTATION:------------------------------------------------------Okay, this may not be exclusive to the Nokia Lumia 900, but rather, Windows Phone 7.5 that bring spoken caller-id (can be turned off) when someone calls you as well as spoken text messages as part of the phone, not an app you have to buy. It's like having Ford Sync, without having to buy the car! With my great, but fairly inexpensive SuperTooth HD Bluetooth Car Speakerphone I'll hear, "New Text Message from Bill G - do you want me to read it or ignore?" I can say "Read it!" and the text message will be read aloud. Then, it will ask "Do you want to call this person back, or reply or ignore" I can then reply and dictate a text message and send back a true text message.Combined with a little peace of mind in a new phone case: Diztronic Matte Black Case for Nokia Lumia 900 I really love this phone!

What I like about this phone: the back camera- stalker quality. the durability. It has dropped, had stuff drop on it (freshly brewed coffeepot for one....) and survived to tell another day. The downsides: product glitches- at least every other day, no instruction manual, a defective pair of random headphones- how can I use headphones where one wire is at least half the length of the other??? And the factory unlocking.... it's a pain in the arse to have a phone locked to att. If I had known that would have been the case I would have brought a friend's old one and called it a day. The volume seems to be permanently low- I make calls like I'm in in an old cellphone commercial. Oh and apps? They don't like windows phones. In short buyer beware.

Some may be considering a switch from iPhone. My review will be from that perspective.Compared to the iPhone iOS, the Windows Mobile OS had a superior contact management application and social media integration. I can look at a contact in the "People" application and it merges all of their posts and information (Job title, company name, spouse's name, etc) from Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. It also merges their photo album from Facebook and shows recent history such as text messages we've exchanged. For someone who relies on their phone for contact management, it's incredible. The People application also integrates recent news feed from multiple social media sites into one place. It is simple and brilliant. I find myself using the People app instead of the separate Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter applications.Build quality is important to me and one of the things I loved about the iPhone 4/4S. It's just as good, if not better, on the Nokia. The screen size is ideal. Not too big where it cannot easily be accessed in one hand, but superior to the iPhone.I also liked how it didn't come bloated with unnecessary software. The Marketplace had everything I need, although is not as vast as Apple's. The applications all seemed to have a similar design theme. I like how it all worked together. The Microsoft Office Application that came with the phone and syncs with a 25Gig Sky Drive is very nice. The main disadvantage I have found on the Nokia compared to the iPhone is the camera. Sometimes I will take close up pics of a business card or other small documents and I haven't been able to get the Nokia to focus as well as the iPhone did. I had to borrow my wife's iPhone to take a picture of a newspaper article I was sending someone.I have not had any dropped calls with the Nokia. Call quality is as excellent as the iPhone was.Visual voicemail was a pain to set up. I spent 2 hours on the phone with AT&T and they couldn't help me. I went to the store and a sales rep who had a Nokia 900 got it set up in 5 minutes. You have to call in to AT&T using 611, change your password, and then wait for a text message, and then log in. That is a process that AT&T needs to make more intuitive. All in all, I'm happy with the switch from iPhone to the Nokia 900. If contact management and social media are important to you, it's the clear winner.

Coming from a Samsung Focus the Nokia Lumia 900 is a definite step up.Processor speed: Noticably quicker in places like the xbox live app where your avatar pops up quicker and games (especially the Harvest)and apps load much quicker.Screen: The 4.3" screen is beautiful and easy to read in the outdoor sun with little glare. The touchscreen is responsive and the gorilla glass is very durable.Camara: Outdoor shots are great, the 720P video is great. Better than my focus. Indoor shots can suffer from noise depending on lighting, but are still pretty good for a phone. Hopefully Nokia will fine tune some of the settings in future firmware updates.Software: I can only recommend people tryout WP7 and make their own opinions about it. The OS runs very smoothly, with little to no lag, and very almost never locks up. In fact I can't think of one time in 18 months of owning my Focus that I had to do a hard reset.Apps: I would be lying if I said that WP7 was lacking some apps. While a large portion of the most popular apps on the other OS platforms have either official apps or 3rd party apps on WP7 there are a lot that don't. The positive thing is that as the user base growns, the potential for these apps to come to the market are much greater. And while it is not an app, per se, I still consider the Zune service to be the best thing ever, and the driving force for me to go WP7. $10 a month for unlimited DRM protected music downloads (you cancel service you can't play them), has allowed me to download entire catalogs of musicians, and to explore other types of music without the financial risk. Plus I can stream music from my PC, Xbox, and phone if I don't want to download. By far my favorite service with WP7.Nokia Apps: This is one area that app market shine on the Nokia Lumia 900. Nokia Drive, a full offline, voice navigated, turn by turn, GPS app is FREE. Offering the ability to download anything from individual states to full countries of offline navigation. Creative Studio is a phenominal picture editing app. The ESPN app is well set up, offering video and live tiles for each sport. And I read nothing but praise for Nokia Transit. The only con I have about the phone for me is the increase in size will take some time to get used to. Being significantly larger in the hand I have almost dropped the phone a couple times. For those who are interested in the WP7 platform, this is a great phone to enter the platform on. The build quality is exceptional, the OS experience is fluid, and the phone is a joy to use. Personally, I've had a hard time putting the phone down since I got it on the 6th.

The Nokia Lumia 900 was my first smartphone. Im a programmer, so I really appreciate how easy it is to write software for it. That being said, the phoen itself is what I'm rating so lets get to it.The Good:I love the feature-rich experience and the battery life is quite good. Despite what I have read from other websites it seems fairly light to me (then again, I don't like owning a smartphone that feels like its gonna float away). The speaker is one of the loudest I have ever heard on a smartphone, and it outputs really good quality audio too! The camera takes excelent quality photos and I feel that it is quite feature-rich. The flash is extremely bright, and makes a good flashlight in a pinch. the case is so tough that I dare someone to try and break it. I have yet to scratch the phone case itself and I have had this phone for about 6 months now (I tend to drop my phone, so this is impressive). The Bad:Let me first say that I DO NOT have a problem with the hardware. I have a few compaints about the software though. If you know about WP already then the rest of this section won't help you. That being said, I would dearly like to be able to make playlists on the go without the need to sync with zune software. I will also be excited when more developers get apps into the store (although all the ones I need are already there). My biggest issue right now is the OS upgrade, or rather the lack of one. WP8 came out and lumia 900 users kinda got the shaft.Bottom Line:This phone is an excelent choice! The price is excelent, the calls are clear, the interface is sleek, and the phone is near indestructable. I would like to see some love from microsoft in regaurds to software upgrades, but other than that I would (and do) recomend this phone to anyone who wants a good, dependable phone.
