This phone is absolutely brilliant and certainly one of the best phones I have ever used. After using the Nokia Lumia 800 for nearly a year, I thought it was time for an upgrade as it is a small phone which doesn't help when I have big hands and its OS was outdated (WP 7.8). This phone (the 1320) seems big at first but if you have used windows phone before, it is a dream to use. It runs smoothly and is extremely enjoyable to use. unlike other smaller phones, you have to use two hands when using apps where you use the screen a lot, however, I can just about use the phone with one hand.
This phone is extremely responsive and overall rather powerful considering it only has a dual core 1.7GHz Processor and 1 GB of RAM, which in most cases is more that what you need as windows phone really does not need much to run on.
Its battery usage is phenomenal as I can get it to run for 3 days (or there about) without needing to charge (on a normal use) because of its 3400 mAH battery.
Overall, this phone is a cheaper version of the Lumia 1520 with watered down specs (especially with the cameras) which makes it more affordable for those on a smaller budget, but don't let that put you off as this phone is a phone and a half.
The only people I think that would not suit a phone this size is people with small hands and nimble fingers, but that's my view.

I used to be an iPhone 4 user who jumped almost blindly to the Windows Phone bandwagon when it first came out about two years ago. Before that I swore I would never use Windows Mobile again. Well Windows Phone is not Windows Mobile and why did I abandon the bounty of the iOS camp and took a chance with Windows Phone? It was the design of the Windows Phone OS. Metro to me looked like the future and as a developer, I was stoked about all the behind the scenes plumbing that Microsoft did on the OS and how those little touches could enhance the user experience. I spoke to a friend about Windows Phone and compared it to an infant going up againts two giants, iOS and Android. It did not look like a fair fight then, but I always thought of Windows Phone as an infant but with Superman DNA and one day that infant is gonna grow up and kick some!! With the Mango release, Windows Phone has grown up and I think we are going to be in for some treat on the next major release, Apollo. But despite offering what I truly feel is the best user experience of any smartphone OS, Windows Phone has not quite caught on. An excellent OS alone can't sell, Windows Phone needed a Hero device. The Nokia 900 is that Hero device. On a sea of iCopycat phones, the 900 stands out, proudly pimping out Windows Phone's live tiles on its gorgeous screen. I can sum up my 4 day experience with the phone as this -> The first time I booted up Windows Phone, I thought I could never go back to iOS, and the first time I saw and held the 900, I thought I can no longer go back to the other manufacturers. Sorry Samsung, HTC, and others. I am officially a Nokia sheep now. Mmmmmeeeeeeeee (sheep sound).Update 4/19/2012After using the phone for two weeks now, I can say without a doubt that this is the best phone I've ever used. It is way better than my previous two phones (iPhone 4 and Samsung Focus) in a number of ways:1) Cellular Reception - I can now make and receive calls at home. At&t's signal at my neighborhood is pathetic but with this phone, it's not an issue at all2) Crystal clear voice signal - I no longer have to bury the phone hard on my ears to hear the other person I'm talking to.3) Stonger wifi reception - not even close. My wireless N router is located in my living room and with my previous phones and even the iPad (well the iPad is known to have lousy wifi) I can barely get a signal in my bedroom. Not a problem with this phone at all!!4) Stonger/Faster Cellular data reception - again, not even close. I can now stream internet music on my 40 mile drive to work with no breakup or interruption. Even streaming from Zune (known to have issues with slow cellular data connection) is no longer a problem! Just stellar!5) Longer battery life - at the very least, it matches that of my iPhone 4, and that's with live tiles and LTE antenna. Again, stellar!6) Audio quality - not as good as a dedicated music player like Zune HD, but very close and blows away my Samsung Focus and definitely better than iPhone 4.7) Speakers - again, not even close. This thing is loud!8) Build quality - as good as Apple's products. Nuff said.9) Looks - space age cool and most definitely stands out from the pack. I can honestly say this is more appealing than the iPhone 4.10) Screen - not the hi-res screen that most reviewers knock the phone for as compared to the iPhone, but I'll take this gorgeous vibrant screen any day over the iPhone. If you don't believe me, open up the email app on this phone and the iPhone4 and compare them side by side.And last but not least -> great customer service! Nokia owned up to their quality control issue with the initial batch of phones that got shipped with the wrong firmware version and corrected the issue immediately in a way that no other company I can recall has done before. Hats off to Nokia!

I replaced my N8 with this phone. So far it's very nice; it's definitely bigger and heavier than the N8 but having the latest software (Symbian Belle FP2) makes a difference; there's more space on the C drive, more RAM, and a faster processor, and the whole thing just works a bit better than the N8 did. Of course the camera is amazing; I won't comment on that. The software for the camera could use minor improvements but only minor; between the built-in software and CameraPro you can do basically anything you want.The 808 has a more rounded case than the N8 did, which feels nice in your hand but if you have the phone sitting on the desk, it's hard to use because it wobbles left to right as you use the touch screen. This is the sort of design detail that I've come to expect Nokia to get right, so I'm surprised.The phone does require a micro SIM card; I was able to cut my AT&T SIM card with scissors using some hints from the internet (which was nerve wracking) and it seems to be working fine.There are still a few glitches with Symbian that need to be worked out, but overall it's reasonably stable and usable. Several of the applications I loved on the N8 do not appear to be available, which is annoying. The weather widget with the version of Maps only shows temperatures in °C, though one hopes that will get fixed. I'm still trying to install Nokia Bubbles on the phone.The battery is easily removable now, which seems nice at first glance but I had grown to like the N8's hard reset functionality (which does not exist on the 808) so I'm guessing that soon enough I'll be back in the N97 world of prying off the back cover until it rattles (and the NFC antenna stops working). We'll see.There are some annoying bits of cheapness in the package, too. The charger is nice and small but the USB cord it uses is a bit shorter than is useful. There is no HDMI or USB-OTG cable shipped with the phone; I'm using the USB-OTG cable from my N8 but it's a new HDMI port (micro-HDMI instead of mini-HDMI) so I had to buy a cable for that. They also removed the 2.1mm charging port, so it's just charging by USB now.UPDATE:After using the phone for about a month, I've removed a couple of stars from the rating. The phone has a lot of potential but I think it's only a phone for die-hard Nokia/Symbian fans. There are a couple of killer bugs - the Swype beta app (which most Symbian^3 users have been using since it came out, because the stock keyboard is awful) has some significant bugs in Belle FP2 (and has recently expired, so functionality is reduced); also there is a very common problem somehow related to mobile data that causes the phone to spontaneously reboot frequently (up to several times per day) and/or drop all voice and data connections without warning, so you miss calls and text messages. I think most people knew that Nokia's support for this last Symbian phone would be lackluster, but it's actually been basically nonexistent, so we all dumped several hundred dollars on the phone and its useful life will probably be less than a year. Nokia may yet redeem itself but so far they're not doing very well.

Fantastic phone. Ignore the negative reviews or unfavourable comparisons with the Lumia 1520 (which I bought as a replacement as I somehow expected a lot more from the 1520 than the 1320). Reality it is a very good little phone. Once upgraded to Windows Phone 8.1 (over the air), you can overcome the limited memory by storing apps on an SD card. Good screen, battery lasts forever. Large, clear screen which makes viewing movies and web pages much more do-able. Camera is usable but resolution not so hot as others - this would be the only reason I why buy a 1520 over this. Otherwise for the money you get *a lot* of phone.

So lets start of by saying this is my first Symbian Phone and first Amazon Review. I have used Windows Mobile, Andriod, Windows 7 and now new to Symbian. I was excited about the 41 megapixel camera with Pureview Technology. I was not sure with all the negative reviews from Engadget, Mobileburn, Laptop.com and TheVerge that this phone would be utter crap besides the Camera. They are wrong and I think the bias has shown that Symbian and Belle FP1 is actually usuable and that Nokia has crafted an amazing piece of hardware.The reviewer's from the major website made this phone to be huge and unusuable. The phone feels right and the bump helps you balance the phone. The polycarbonate shell is premium unlike the other manufacturers who cheapen the hardwareThe first thing is of course the Camera..top in its field in both Video and Photos but the sound you record at CD quality with Rich Recording is in itself a revolution. The sound that you record will be amazing as you play it back. Try it at concerts.The screen with its nHD is not appealing with some but Clear Black Technology and Amolead makes the pictures you take and the videos you play look amazing. 1080p and a ton of codecs such as MKV, AVI, MP4 and more play flawlessly on the 808 then most of the smartphones who chug and lag with all those multi core setups. Also the 808 has the best visibility of any phone in the sun period.Storage is 16gb internally and you can add a 64gb card!!!The Nokia difference is in its software. I had a Lumia 900 and I loved Windows phone but I like what Nokia did in the software that made my Lumia so special. Since I have upgraded to the 808 I am using Nokia Transport, Drive, World Gaze, City Lens, Guides, Map, Nokia Bubbles, Sleeping Screen. Some that are even better on the Symbian platform.The app store is not incredible and not close to Android, iOS but there are many things that will work.Gravity: Best Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and social media app you will ever use on any platformSituations: Great Management Profiler that will adjust to how you use your phone and is very customizableMicrosoft Office : Excel, Powerpoint, Word, One NoteSkyfiles: SkydriveFmobi: FacebookWhatsapp: Messaging with dataLinkein:Cutetube: for Downloading Youtube videosWhat you will be missing will be things such as Amazon, Ebay but wierdly there is a paypal app. I know that if you like a lot of apps and you download a lot and need the latest then this is not the phone for you. What this phone is for me is:Best Camera for taking pictures in day and night. I started to find things outside to appreciate moreSound that is rich and Video playback with Dobly Digital is incredible.A removable battery, Battery life is great for heavy use in a day and average use will last two days.NFC for sharing pictures, videos with a tapExpandable memory up to 80 gigs! in total. Enough for movies, videos and all sort of stuff we like to bring with usThe loudest speaker you have ever heard in a phoneFM Transmitter to wirelessly transmit to any unused radio frequency great for PODCAST and music. Rare in SmartphonesDLNA for those playback TVs that have that capablitlityMicro HDMI to play all my videos, pictures and music on my HDTV....also playing Angry Birds on a 73 Tv rocksAlso I use the pureview 360p zoom as a binoaculars.It is my favorite device that I have ever had the pleasure of using.

Brilliant phone, Bought this phone 3 days ago and i am amazed at the quality of the images taken with the rear camera, ok its only 5mp but unless you want to print larger than A4 this fits the bill. Phone easy to set up and the large screen is ideal for watching video and reading emails etc. I suggest buying a protective case as it is slippery . Overall this is a great phone and i highly recommend it.This phone has a front facing camera also which is good enough for selfies. Why pay more this phone has everything and more,you won,t be dissapointed.

The mobile cost £212.00 arrived on-time 23rd september at 2pm, Battery dead " great", Mobile phone windows operating system is out of date and requires 2 hours plus of updates before you can make your first phone call "charming". It's now 4.10 and still not made a call. Alsoin the boxr is a £54 of free entertainment voucher on Lumia " it expired on 30 June 2014" I am not a happy customer of amazon right now. as one feels very short changed.. I await their reply...this is not good business when direct out of your store..

I would highly recommend this Nokia Windows smartphone. This is my first smartphone and I've been impressed. It is easy to use and is very fast. It was a bit bigger than I imagined but it fits into my suit pocket. At weekends, it is a bit more challenging to get it into your jeans pocket. The camera is very good and I've taken many clear,quality pictures. I found the phone particularly useful for surfing the internet in a wifi zone. It is quick and the large screen makes it easier to read webpages. For those of you with a kindle, I would recommend downloading the free Amazon kindle app so that you can read your books on your phone when you have a spare minute. The battery lasts a good time. One of the best features is the maps. It can track your movements even when you are not connected, a great tool when you are slightly lost in the city. I would recommend this phone for anyone who is thinking about a tablet but not sure whether they want to carry one everywhere. This would be the perfect solution.

I vowed never to buy a Symbian phone again, made exception for this camera.Initial impressions:-not as thick and bulky as some reviews make out.-on the heavier side, but manageable-texture of the phone feels great-due to the texture and white, phone will be hard to keep clean. Will need a case-camera button could do with a little more travel. Best to get a case which doesn't cover this button-OS reminds me of earlier Android OS's. A little quirky, could be more user friendly. Liveable if u don't need access to hoards of apps.-Using the camera feels like using a point and shoot. Quick and easy and photo quality is very very good-Not sure if I will use Zoom much. Reduces pureview tech and more camera shake-Since its top heavy, I feel it might be easy to drop this phone when holding as camera in landscape-This phone is only for people who like to take photos and don't want to carry an extra device. And an external microphone if u care about sound quality eg. you're willing to - carry a purse or manbag just for the camera. Or carry it on your belt like a dork - remember to charge to camera regularly - recording a concert, play, speech and willing the carry an external mic. The rich recording gives amazing sound quality-On the expensive side...-happy so far.. looking forward to taking quality pics anytime/anywhereEDITED to reflect 2 months of ownership========================================- Dropping rating to 1 star from 4 stars. Here are the reasons, new buyers should take noteThere are 2 bugs which cripple this phone. One is show-stopper and the other is annoyance which can be worked around. What can I say that has not already been said about the 808 other than to say that if you are thinking about buying this phone but are a little unsure then I would like to say that for me this product has surpassed my expectations by quite a large margin. It is definitely an adult phone I have owned androids before and this time wanted something that would last and not be a flash in the panI have read lots of comments about the phone being large and bulky, when mine arrived I was very surprised that this was not the case, it is nicely proportioned and feels solid and looks and handles like a quality productI have no experience with symbian prior to this and have had zero issues with a transition, it is simple and intuitive to use and I don't really recognise it from some of the reviews on cnet and other review sites I looked at before I got mine and I am really glad that I did not let them influence me, I have probably added 7 other apps as it arrives already loaded with most adult and working apps you require and to be honest I don't need a gazillion pointless additions that will only be used once or twice anywayI have used the radio transmitter and this is a nice feature and again everything needed is already loaded, the Big Screen app is really good and very quick and simple to use it was up and running on my TV as soon as I plugged it in to the HDMI socketThe camera...it has all been said already it really is brilliant, my wife has a Sony Erricson Arc S with 8 MP camera which is highly rated but this thing simply blows it away, friends with i-phones are amazed with the quality and that is not exactly a bad camera, nothing to add really it is mega impressive and even a rubbish photographer like myself who is just learning with this camera looks like a ProfessionalThe video is also really impressive, I have a 40 inch Hidef Samsung and the playback through it is flawless, it looks like CD quality and again it is really simple and intuitive to use. Sound quality is great on both the video and music player and again highly pleased with itI read a lot about screen definition issues but to be honest I think this is a total red herring, this is not a toy and for everything you need to do such as photo editing etc I would do on the computer or play back on the TV. I believe this is simply wrong and I have had no issues using it in midday sunshine here in Thailand. The battery has been really good after coming from an Htc Desire where I have literally run of power during the day on more than a few occasionsI think you get the message, an happy customer who would recommend this item to anyone out there, negatives, well I am struggling with the phone but I think Nokia have been a bit tight fisted with not supplying a HDMI lead and for this I have had to use the wife Sony issued one, it could also do with a cover as it is a precision bit of kit and a car charger would be nice but other than that very happy

I have had my Lumia 900 since Monday and I absolutely love it.Just as background, I have been waiting for months for a phone that would make me upgrade from an old Samsung I was using. My girlfriend is a Mac user and swears by her iPhone but I just couldn't get into the interface. I like things really clean and organized and all the icons on the iPhone really turn me off. The Android interface just looks like a hot mess to me. I use a Blackberry for work and still love the physical keyboard but the lack of software features really affects my productivity. So, Windows Phone was my last hope.I fell in love with the interface of Windows Phone the first time I tried it out but all the hardware out there was pretty weak. So, I waited to see if Samsung or Nokia would deliver something new that I would like.Three days in and I can honestly say that the Lumia 900 is fantastic. I am so glad I waited. I am surprised by how much I love this phone.Everyone I have talked to over the phone comments that they can hear me so clearly...a vast improvement in call quality over my previous phone. The press was right about the build quality and design of the phone too. It just looks so sleek and clean.The layout and interface of the phone is amazing, beautiful even. Texting is awesome on this device. The screen is gorgeous and bright, very smooth and responsive. I get great battery life too, even when I have made heavy use of the LTE connection.I have only installed a few apps so far but the apps I have used all look and work great. I particularly like the navigation capabilities of Nokia Drive...I believe they are even better than those dedicated GPS systems.There are some apps that my girlfriend uses on her iPhone that are not in the Windows Phone Marketplace. But I suspect those apps will come in time.Honestly, I am more focused on what a phone can do out of the box. I own a Kindle Fire as well and I am not really sure what all the app craziness is about. I maybe showing my age but the lack of apps is not a big issue despite what the press says.As for negatives, I really only have three quibbles:1. I don't have particularly large hands so the size of the phone is a little bit of an issue. The iPhone is too small for me but if this phone were just a few inches smaller, I think I would love it even more. 3.9 or 4.0 inches seems to be the sweet spot for me. However, I think this is just something I have to get used to because I upgraded from a fairly small 3.5 inch phone. The Lumia still fits fine in my front pocket and the upside is that the screen is so readable. But just something to keep in mind during your own search.2. The camera is a huge upgrade from the 3MP cam on my old phone. The pictures I have taken outside during the day all look great. But, I have noticed a very subtle bluish tint when taking pictures at night and at dusk. Not sure if it is the lens, the software or the user. ;) But, just something I have noticed.3. This last one is really minor but I have to say that I don't like the "vibrate" setting. The vibration is very abrupt. Not an earth shaking rattle by any means. It is just that Nokia should have been a little more subtle with the feature. Honestly, the spastic, super quick vibration has made me chuckle more than a few times already.To sum up, a real fantastic experience thus far and I would absolutely recommend this phone to anyone looking for an upgrade from a regular phone or if you are someone who prefers a smartphone with a very clean interface and not all those crazy icons.

I decided I wanted the Lumia 900 right now. I resolved that it was silly for me to wait for a new operating system that will cost three times as much up front and will remain just as expensive until spring of next year. So I gave my Android a rest and so far am extremely glad to be using this phone. It feels good to have given support to Nokia. They are innovators, but not the slickest marketers (which is why they're hurting, but I really believe they can bounce back.) What Nokia lacks in hot air, they make up for with pretty solid (albeit barebones) GPS navigation and fast, responsive hardware.The Windows Phone 7.5 platform is an exceptional experience for me, despite some organizational and customization quirks. I almost stuck with Android for another two years but had the chance to go into a store and try the Lumia 900. If you are wondering how it works, find out yourself. I'm able to search the Internet incredibly well with IE/Bing (and Google of course.) The voice and optical recognition software are great touches. The resolution looks fine. The single core processor powers the device very well. The specs don't look wild on paper, but the thing moves along swiftly and the OS is not a totally nasty battery pig. Nokia's camera is intuitive and useful - macro settings, exposure settings, white balance etc. Long press and hit auto-fix to adjust light balance on the low light shots... works nicely along with the other Nokia imaging software available in the marketplace (and the new app Fhotoroom, which is also free and pretty incredible.)What strikes me is how this phone has a 4.5 star rating on the average from so many people. Satisfied customers usually don't go out of their way to write a phone review in such numbers, the usual top-tier exceptions aside. The prospective Lumia 900 buyer at this point has a choice between listening to the market-savvy expertise of those who do not own the phone and what actual users have to say. The experts say wait for Windows Phone 8 or give dozens of reasons why Android and iPhone are currently better choices. What I chose to do is support Nokia NOW, and the phone team at Microsoft as well. The Lumia 900 will not be outdated until 20 months from now when my contract expires. It is working incredibly well and should continue to do so if all goes peachy. Applications will remain on the market for when I need them, and I'm sure the 7.8 update is going to be just fine. I'll aim to give an update about the update a few weeks from now in the comments.I can't tell you whether to buy the 900 or wait; all I can say is with this many satisfied customers and the good bargains being offered, I did not care in the least about guru opinions regarding the next greatest thing. I care about having a product that I stand by. I stand by this. I'm surprised how much I like the Windows Phone platform - I never thought I'd get excited about anything by Microsoft, but I am excited about this. You might be surprised as well; see for yourself how this phone operates. By the way, reception and call quality? Yes, it performs really well on those fronts, and the phone interface looks especially excellent.

For all of the Nokia bashing by the media over the past few years, the 808 has been a breath of fresh air for me. The PureView tech on this device makes dedicated picture and video devices a thing of the past...at least when it comes to high quality point and shoot cameras. In fact, unless you absolutely need a DSLR, this phone will do it all. Sound quality is also off the charts...with the "Rich Recording" and full DOLBY capabilities inside the 808. It also packs a super sized XENON flash for night-time stills AND a hi powered LED for evening video (+ flashlight).Browser: The default browser is OK but lags behind the competition. Easily solved by installing Opera Mobile and/or Opera Mini. Opera Mobile is leading most benchmarks. Like the browser on the iPhone, Opera does not support flash. However, the default browser is Flash Lite capable.UI: Very smooth and fluid. Belle FP1 is IMO on par with Android 2.3...in terms of the user experience.Apps: Of course, you will have to settle for less apps (~30K for the 808). That being said, 9 times out of 10 I have found a Belle version of a popular app...or at least a near proxy. No Kindle Reader app. Skype does not yet offer video calling via its client...though the device itself is fully capable.As for games...the dedicated GPU is a screamer...so it performs well. From Angry Birds, to Raging Thunder 2, Real Golf 2011, Fruit Ninja...there's plenty to choose. However, it cannot compare to the game selection offered by Apple.Battery: Excellent...close to 2 days with average use. Also removable.Build: Solid. The polycarbonate chassis feels good in the hand and exudes quality. The camera hump is not so huge, considering the massive sensor inside. The curved gorilla glass on the front of the device is terrific and really adds to the unique design. The camera is also protected by gorilla glass.Screen: For me, the visibility in sunlight is incredible. Colors really pop. It's a full RGB AMOLED (with Nokia's Clear Black tech), so even though the 640x360 resolution is much less than the competitions' resolution...the end result is quite OK for me.e-mail: E-mail client is solid.Keyboard: OK, but getting an upgrade soon. You can also use the SWYPE keyboard, which can be downloaded for free.Navigation: Two words: awesome + global.Call quality: excellent.Signal: Nokia is tops, as usual, in the signal reception area. In addition, this is a pentaband 3.5G phone...so you can take it just about anywhere in the world. Works on both AT&T and T-mobile stateside.I can do a lot with this phone in terms of media creation and consumption. It handles all sorts of CODECs, allows full file access/wireless file transfer (wifi, BT), USB On The Go, etc. etc.To really get the most out of this device, I installed: 1) Opera Mobile-free, 2) Gravity (for my Google Reader, Facebook, Foursquare and Twitter requirements)-15 bucks, 3) MS Office Suite-free, 4) Skype voice only-free, 5) Molome-IM client for free, 6) Nokia Social-free, 7) CuteBox for dropbox-free and/or SugarSync-free and/or Skyfiles-free, 8) HandySafe Pro-3 bucks, 9) Nokia Sleeping Screen-free, Nokia Big Screen-free (for HDMI output with remote to big screen TV).

"Disappointing as Flagship product"; nice upgrade from Andriod or "feature phone". Not wothwhile to upgrade from WIndows 7.5 phone and likely outdated in ~6 months...The Nokia Lumina 900 is the latest in a long line of Windows phones I have had.Upgraded from Samsung Focus and own Apple products, too.UPDATED REVIEW, after using for a week, interacting with Nokia's support, a day of sigh-seeing with both the Lumina 900 and Samsung Focus as cameras for taking pictures, and lots of discussion and feedback"Stars": If compared to an Adroid phone; any Windows 7.5 phone gets 4 or 5 stars.... but I am reviewing compared to a 2 year old Samsung Focus that became a "reliable friend" and the goal of the Nokia 900 to be the "best Windows phone" and flagship product for both Nokia and Microsoft. And it simply falls short on may details.I waited with anticipation for the 900, skipping iPhone 4S, even as eligable for upgrade for 6 months. Simply disappointed.Pros:- nice design (got the white one) and Windows 7.5 "just works". Good price for $99; even better deal if you can get it cheaper.- Gets "looks"; people want to know what it is.- large screen- front facing camera- good battery life (8 hours using email, txt, a little phone and GPS while sight seeing in New York)Cons:- NO UPGRADE to Windows Phone 8: based on "concensus rumors" this device will not be upgradable to Windows 8 and therefor not sure how much improvements Microsoft or Nokia will make for this specific device.- Photos are MUCH worse than with my Samsung Focus. Pictures taken on that old phone have replaced my point and shoot camera, the Nokia is not even in the same league and nearly unusuable both indoor and outdoor. UPDATE: Hardware issues got fixed; pictures and SPEED and EASE of use are still far sub par the Samsung Focus (sadly). I tried losts of the recommendations and while the did improve; it is just not practial to change settings before every shot.- No easy migration from one windows to another windows device. Setup of 4 email accounts was relatively easy, but with reinstallation of all apps etc. it took over an hour to set it up. Had moved form ipad2 to iPad3 and even my game achievments did migrate after two clicks.- Nokia support: They replied quickly BUT: feedback from this discussion was far more helpful... and their recommendation was basically: reset to actory settings... which would have me g to another round of "set up" and re-installs...- Screen: looks nice but easy to scratch (ATT employee showed me scratches on his new device). So got the screenprotector film, but its making the screen unreadable outdoors and very grainy indors. Will for sure return the "screen protector".- Size: while the larger screen is nice; it actualy is hard to use with one hand now ("medium man's hand"; missing "back arrow" with my thumb all the time...)and always afraid it will slip. So there might be an "optimal size" for a phone; where additional screen size need justifies a tabled and the "phone" stays smaller.- scratches easily; both the back and the screenprotector don't look "new" after one week use "in pocket" and without a case.-details: beautiful round power plug... BUT.... it covers "two poweroutlets"... and in the hotel only 2 of 8 outlets in the room were usable with this plug....In summary: not sure if i will keep the phone for the family, or return completely. I will likely go back to Samsung focus and wait for iPhone 5 or better Windows devices.

After owning the Nokia 808 PureView for several weeks, I came across the bug that some other reviewers have discussed here.I would really love to give this phone a high rating, as it really is a wonder. The PureView technology is quite amazing, producing stunning photos and videos. The Rich Recording technology is also a technical marvel. I recorded a high-volume concert and when replaying it, it sounded like a studio recording. These, among other improvements including UI enhancements with Belle FP2, generally snappy performance and otherwise overall improvement over the N8 and all other Nokia smartphones make this my dream phone-- except for a crippling, debilitating bug that renders the phone effectively useless as a... well... a phone.The connectivity issue began a few weeks in to owning the phone. Perhaps it had been happening earlier, without me knowing. But the issue has to do with the Nokia 808 dropping network connections and never recovering. Sometimes this would yield a reboot. Most times, you wouldn't even know there was a problem until you tried to make a phone call and couldn't (you'd just get dead silence). Text messages wouldn't send or come through. The internet wouldn't work either. Can you imagine a phone that doesn't work dependably as a phone? That is what the Nokia 808 PureView is, unless you use a "workaround" that hobbles the phone's data connection speed.Looking at Nokia's forums (of which I've been following closely, hoping for a fix), this issue was reported months ago from 808 users across the world, using different variants and different carriers, and we're still waiting for a fix. The only universally identified "workaround" is to disable HSPDA (Settings => Connectivity => Admin. settings => Mobile data => High speed packet access: change to Disabled), and that seems to eliminate the connectivity issues on the AT&T network (reports on T-Mobile's network are similar-- it doesn't seem this is carrier-specific) and the seemingly-connected reboots. However, as I mentioned this severely limits the speed of the phone and it still doesn't seem 100% stable at that. The reboot/hang-up would happen multiple times a day with HSDPA enabled.I really wish I could recommend the 808. I want to brag about it like I first did. Now I'm ashamed. I'm looking for other options, but so bummed because this WAS the phone I wanted. There is nothing that compares to it, technologically-speaking. I've been a long-time Nokia advocate, and while I still have faith in their imaging technology and hope it really makes its way to the new Lumia lineup, I feel like I've been beat up and abandoned by Nokia on this issue. There is no reason for something so major with a "flagship" device to take so long to address.But, if I can't use my phone as a phone then what's the point of it?

As a bit of context, I have an iPad 2 which I happily use daily (so I'm familiar with iOS) and have tried various Android incarnations on numerous phones (including the latest Samsung flagships) but found myself underwhelmed by the user interface.I'm a business user by day and so email functionality is important to me, but also wanted deep social networking integration and speedy web browsing; hence, I wouldn't settle for a 4g LTE-less iphone.So with that background known, let it be known that I'm in love my Lumia 900. The Outlook notifications are as instantaneous as push emails were on my old work Blackberry. The social integration goes waaay beyond just having a facebook or a twitter app -- it's woven in right with your contacts in the "People" section. Not only is web browsing fast, I tethered my laptop to the phone, ran speakeast.net's speed test, and discovered its 4g LTE speed is quicker than my home wireless network!It's all so seamless, smooth, fast, and beautiful.Oh right, the apps (or lack thereof) issue. Aside from Pandora (of which there's already a Pandora-like app, not to mention Spotify which is best on WP7), I haven't run into any apps that weren't available. Heck, even gmaps, a program that uses Google Map data, is better than "Maps," the apple program that uses Google Map data for the primary mapping application on the iPhone. This is in addition to Bing Maps and Nokia's host of several programs aimed at helping you get around. What I expected to be a deficiency in terms of app coverage instead turned out to be way more than what's offered on any other platform.So I think it's a safe bet to say that no matter what you're looking for, chances are you're still covered otherwise (see: aforementioned streaming radio example). As for the marquee name apps that are still missing from Windows Phone (i.e. Instagram), I think it's an equally safe bet that with the phone being the simultaneous #1 and #2 sellers on Amazon.com -- not to mention all of the positive reviews you're reading on this very page -- app makers will be forced to develop programs for this platform, lest they lose out on a burgeoning pie slice of the mobile market.Really, my only nitpick is that despite the well-deserved praise for its build quality (it's literally seamless and feels very solid... whereas if you pick up, say, a Samsung Galaxy Nexus it feels cheap and plastic-y) there's not really any grip to the polycarbonate case. It's not slippery, per se, but I'm worried I might drop this while, oh I dunno, drinking, considering there's only the smooth polycarb shell to grip on to. It would've been nice if some other, more friction inducing material were woven in at key grip points, but I suppose that would have detracted from the sleek minimalism of the phone. Minor gripe.Also, I wish the power button was on top. ...That's it. Those are my only complaints. A completely new phone with a new (to me, and probably to you) operating system and new ecosystem and my only gripes are "oh, I'm worried about dropping this when drunk," and "I wish a button was there instead of here." That should tell you something. Well, actually the fact that I'm often waaay too lazy (I mean "busy"...) to write reviews should tell you something, and here I am gushing over this dumb thing.I'm beyond pleased and wouldn't trade this phone for any competitor. I was hesitant about being an early adopter, but now and thrilled to have been one. Five stars all around.

I bought this phone through Amazon to replace the Samsung Galaxy s3 which was just too small. I have also been using a Note 2, which is similar to the Nokia but inferior. Why? Well, I do have large hands (on the stockbroking trading floor my nickname was fingers). But even so, for me this phone really does combine the power of a tablet with the ease of a phone. I find it hard to put it down.
Apps are fewer with Windows than Android. But as this phone renders full web pages, there isn't much point using apps in the first place. The battery life is epic, even with continuous use - far better than either Samsung. I am also quite okay with the screen. This is a tool not a toy.

I was a devoted Blackberry user for the last 5 years. When the Windows phone came out I was interested, and when I won one I was thrilled! Now that I've had the chance to play with and use the Nokia 900 here are my thoughts.First, wow. This is supposed to be THE camera for those who want great pictures. YEAH RIGHT. Nearly all of my pictures turn out blurry, and if I zoom in...OH.MY.GOSH. They are truly terrible. Pixelated and just horrid. This is most definitely NOT what I expected from this phone's camera!Another huge downfall for me is the inability to choose which album my photos go to when I share them to Facebook. This is a developer issue, I believe, not necessarily the phone's issue (but maybe it is?), but it is a BIG deal to me. I don't want photos to just go to my "mobile uploads".I miss my speed-dial option. I used to have a set key to call my house and my husband's cell phone, I am unable to do this with the 900. :(I also found it too easy to change the sound for the ringtone and in-call while in your pocket (or purse) or while you are actually talking/using the phone.Another thing I dislike is the ability to change the calendar view permanently. I prefer month view, but you cannot get month view to stay on your calendar settings, only daily view and then you have to touch to see the month view. A minor annoyance, but still very cumbersome to me.The battery life is unimpressive. With minor use I go through my battery in less than 10 hours. I need a battery that lasts longer. Even with the battery saver turning on it doesn't do enough. Also, if you prefer to have a light background vs the dark background you will go through your battery even faster. Have a car charger available!Another HUGE thing is the inability to select text. I often want to copy text that is in an email and I am unable to do this with the Lumia 900. Huge disappointment and another reason I miss Blackberry. :/Things I do like... I like the Windows OS. I like the Windows 8 OS better than this 7.5 Mango, but it's not all that bad. I like the ability to have multiple alarms. I like the screen, it's large and beautiful. The touch screen is pretty accurate, and I was able to transfer from the actual qwerty keyboard to the virtual one fairly easily ( I was very tentative of this).The apps that are available are great, there are plenty of free apps that are great to have. I love that I can watch Netflix on this device! I am looking forward to trying the 920 and I am hoping some of these issues have been resolved...but for the Lumia 900 all I can say is it's "okay".

I have been an iPhone customer since February 2009 beginning with the 3G and ending with the 4. It was time for an upgrade on my plan and I debated between the Lumia 900 and Galaxy S2. I must say the reviews of the Lumia sealed the deal for me. The look and feel of the phone is pleasantly surprising. I had alot of predjucices thinking there would be lag when opening apps or moving around the phone. I thought it would be cumbersome to type on the phone as I had developed a 6th sense for the iPhone. However, all of the preconceived notions where laid to rest when I put my hands on the phone. It is extremely responsive and typing text messages is extremely smooth. I was most impressed by the fact that this phone felt very "complete." My complaint with the iPhone now is that it was focused to heavily on apps only. Everything revolved around an app. The Lumia with Windows Phone feels like a complete computer so to speak. You click on one tile and it opens as if you were opening a program on a PC. Within that tile you have so many options to access so many other things. It doesn't have that micromanaged feel of there being an app for every single thing you want or need. Some reviews complained that is has a single core processor. As I said earlier, the phone has no noticeable lag that would be associated with a single core. Everything opens quickly and never have I experienced a hang. The built in speaker is almost too loud and that is a compliment, since it shows its ability. I cranked it up to 30 and it was actually so loud it was annoying. I do agree only partially with other reviewers about the camera. Outside pictures come out beautifully and taking photos is literally a snap. I also saw no delay between pushing the button and capturing the photo. I took a picture of my Sheltie in total darkness and the picture came out awesome, surprisingly I know. However the weird part came when I took a picture setting in my car. It wasn't completely dark or light and the pictures continuously came out blurry. It is like there isn't a good in between. The flash in total darkness turns photos out great and the natural sun light of being outside turns pictures out great but artificial light atleast for my photos didn't agree with the phone. There is one other minor quirk that can be turned off but too me is over used and that is the vibration. Everytime I do anything on the phone it does a short vibration, not a big deal but perhaps it could be tweaked for only important times rather than everytime. The interface is absolutely beautiful. You don't simply have screens full of jumbled apps. Phone calls are clear as a bell and cell reception is what it should be for my area. One other minor complaint would be the "People" tile. My contacts in my phone are merged with all of my friends on Facebook and I have yet to find a way to separate them. Perhaps there is a way, I just don't know yet. I don't associate with the people on my Facebook friends list as much as I do the people in my phones contact list so it is only a minor annoyance. I am definetely sold on Windows Phone and Nokia and highly recommend this to iOS and Android. Current promotion on this phone is a steal anyway. Hopefully Microsoft doesn't abandon us early adopters come October when Windows 8 is released. Would be awesome to update from 7.5 to 8 at that time.

It seems that every detail and feature of this phone has already been discussed in the hundreds of positive reviews on this phone. After using blackberrys for years, I wanted to upgrade to a 21st century phone with a large touchscreen and fast internet, which the blackberry severely lack in, without sacrificing the ease of emailing and texting. After reading the reviews on Amazon, I wanted to get the Nokia Lumia 900, but was convinced otherwise by AT&T employees at the AT&T store. So I first tried out the HTC One X and was disappointed with the buggy software and terrible email and text interfaces and notifications. I returned it after 10 days and got the Nokia Lumia, and I couldn't be happier. The unique colorful and graphical interface of this smooth and sleek phone is just amazing. It feels great in my hand and is just a pleasure to use. The reviews for this phone are being accused by iphone and android homers as being written by paid bloggers or employees of apple/google. This is because this phone really is amazing, in ways that any review written about it is going to sound cheesy. Setup, texting, emails, photos and internet are all so easy. The touchscreen keyboard is the best I have ever used. The "pin to start page" feature is awesome and makes the phone so easy to use. I have only had the phone 4 days now but I love it. My only complaint is the lack of availability of more apps, especially instagram, google maps and google talk, with Microsoft forcing you to use Bing, MSN Messenger and either their map, AT&Ts maps or Nokias (Nokias being the best). I am sure with the success of this phone, many more apps will soon be in development for it. I also can't find a cover for the phone, even after going to the AT&T store, best buy and Frys. I also assume with the continued success of this phone, more stores will start carrying more accessories for it. For now, I'll order them online. Nokia is back after being irrelevant since the late 90s, and Microsoft is off to a great re-start in the mobile market with their Mango OS. Great job Nokia!3 week Update: I have had the phone for a while now and still think it is great. Many more apps come out weekly and updates to some current apps have helped. There was an update to the OS as well, although I noticed no difference.My picky complaints about this phone that I would like to see fixed in the future include:1) Swipe Left and Right to navigate internet explorer;2) A forward button;3) Screen Capture!;4) Google Maps!;5) Although most reviews praise it, I am unsatisfied with the battery life. Maybe I use the phone too much;6) Voice input function is great, but would like to see it available for emails as well, not just text messages;7) Apps such as yelp and flixster are severely toned down from their iphone/droid coutnerparts, you can't login to your account and write reviews! Why? Is this due to limitations of the phone? Or they didn't want to spend more time and money on a robust app for a less popular phone?8) Live tile page is great, would love to see the ability to have more than one page of it, and to choose tile size. I hear this is an option in windows 8, which our phone probably won't support.

The screen is very good - it's 6 inches so it's huge, but this makes it great for watching movies. The 720p HD resolution makes movies look really good. If it was 1080p, movies would look even better (they do look a tiny bit less sharp than phones like the Note 3, which has a 1080p 5.7 inch display).
It's got 4G LTE so you can get INSANE mobile data speeds (I've seen 80Mbps before).
The battery life is decent: you should be able to get through a whole day..
The Windows Phone apps are definitely improving: the only app that I miss is YouTube, but other apps, e.g. Instragram, Facebook are all there now. The Nokia-included apps are good also: I especially like the camera app.
The camera is okay, but not amazing. It's not nearly as good some other Nokia phones, but it's good enough for posting photos to Facebook,etc.
Apart from that, I can definitely recommend this phone!

Let me start by saying I am not a MAC person. In fact, I recently purchased an $800 Dell Laptop. Regrettably, Microsoft's feeble attempt at a mobile market is awful enough to make me return the phone after 30 days of trying to put up with it.I have owned Android devices and an iPhone 3GS. Due to the Lumia's price, I had to take a chance on it. I knew going into the purchase that Microsoft's marketplace is still developing. What I did not know, was that the already developed, major apps (Facebook, for instance) is GARBAGE on Windows marketplace.The phone is built well (not exactly the fastest phone on the market with its single core processor, but it will do most of what you need it to do). After about 2 weeks of use I started noticing glitches in the phone. When hanging up after a phone call (using speakerphone might I add, so the phone was easily several feet away from my face) I would attempt to hit the end button while the screen was fully illuminated. Upon placing my finger to the screen, it would go black like it were up to your face. Let me restate that the phone was nowhere near my face, and my hands were in no way interfering with the sensor. This happened numerous times in the last two weeks of use. Most notably, I was trying to end the call before the receiver's phone went to voicemail, but instead I had to fight with the phone (the screen went black six times like it was teasing me) and I ended up leaving a voicemail of random noise.I'm not saying the phone is garbage, I just think it has a ways to go to be in the running with major competitors.Microsoft's Marketplace, however, is complete garbage.Luckily I returned the phone and only suffered the $35 restocking fee (which was worth it in the end to not be stuck with a phone for two years that is bound to be plagued with bugs).To all of you who will likely bash me and say I'm some sort of Apple worker or whatever, get a life.This is an honest review of my experience with the Nokia Lumia 900.Also, the iFrogz cocoon case is garbage as well. The case started peeling within 2.5 weeks of moderate use.PROS:Big, bright screen.Touch interface is accurate.Finding specific things in the phone is very easy with the PIN feature.Speaker phone is okay.Voice recognition is good, not GREAT, but good.Very sleek looking phone. (I had the white one)CONS:Marketplace is SEVERELY limited, and the apps that they DO have are poorly designed.Microphone isn't very good when in speakerphone mode.Potential glitches in the future.Technologically very far behind other phones on the market.OVERALL:Decent phone for $20 family upgrade, but not worth $100 in stores. There are much better phone that are better equipped (and even better ones coming out very soon). Don't waste your money on this. I'd recommend waiting a few weeks and getting the Samsung Galaxy Siii. If you haven't heard of it or seen it, Youtube the commercial; this phone will blow your mind.Good luck to all of your Lumia owners in the future. I sincerely hope the marketplace does a better job in developing apps and fixing the currently "working" apps. Also, keep an eye out for those glitches in the phone. GOOD LUCK!

Upgrades immediately to Windows Phone 8.1, so any concerns about storage (8 Gb) are resolved - SD card can be up to 64 Gb, and most new apps and download can be loaded on the SD card once 8.1 installed.

What a great product!The fit and finish is pure design excellence combined with a smooth operating system and functionality. I am loving every moment of it. With its release on easter... i think the 'hidden' message is about folks that need to find the "eggs".Many will understand what that means ;) but for the others... hidden features in the phone/OS when discovered are also known as "eggs" even in the tech world, so great launch during Easter time! Pun intended.Reading most of the reviews, I believe everything is already covered in regard to the phone and its functionality ... I will only be repeating what is already said.However, I will add the following viewpoints:The phone is surely 'beautifully different', it really does take you away from the norm. While removing the phone from my pocket at a restaurant or work, always gets a 2nd glance from passerby's probably cause of the cyan color, which just adds to the intriguing factor of this cool device. Couple of folks at work, wanted me to sit down with them and explain its features, ins and outs of the phone - and its been only 4 days I have had it (2 of those days were Sat/Sun). Folks genuinely seem interested, converted a colleague, he is getting the white one, but will be purchasing the black one to get the $100 credit prior to 4/21 and is willing to pay the re-stocking fee when the white one comes out. Garnering this level of interest seems to only have been topped by the iphone, though this interest is only with the people in the "know", many folks don't know about the device or anything about its OS and given human nature - folks are highly resistance to change. The sooner they embrace it the sooner they will realize what they were missing or rather what they would have missed out on.The growing marketplace for apps is only a matter of time that certain 'wanted' apps makes its way on to the device/OS, until a particular app is available on this OS, however the ones already available do the job just fine - all the popular sites and apps are pretty much covered. There is a comparable app for one that exists on iOS or Android, if the manufacturer of that app has not yet released one for this OS.With every new device there is a learning curve involved, but this phone support the intuitive capability of the OS very well, a whole lot better than some of the feature (non-smartphones) phones out there. As an early adopter, there may be some bugs, which is fine given that the turnaround time to fix those bugs is pretty quick. The reward however is to have something that not many folks out there do, and be part of the change or revolution that maybe sweeping the mobile space once again.I have always believed that Nokia makes great products, and they just proved my point. The Nokia lumia 900 replaced my Nokia N95 8gb... held on to it for 4+ years, well simply because it worked and did most of my tasks. In the 4+ year period I did also get the BB 9810 Torch which I am also using currently (mainly for work). Now the Lumia 900 just adds to the great experience.Hence, I end by saying Kudos Nokia... replacing one great device (N95) with another great device (Lumia 900), thanks Espoo!disclaimer - To some of the haters out there, NO - I don't work for Amazon, Nokia or Microsoft - I would be glad to though :)

First of all, I love the iPhone. It really is a great phone, and it does surpass the Lumia 900 in many areas. However, I decided to give the 4S to my girlfriend, and give the Lumia 900 a try.First of all, it's really customizable. Yes, you can uninstall preinstalled apps, and you you can use mp3's as ringtones without an obscene workaround like you have to do with the iphone. This makes it a lot easier to personalize you phone - a thing the iPhone really lacked imho.Call quality is really good, the messaging system is also great. It's easy to use, though not as easy to set up as the iPhone. It's not as crisp and fast as the iPhone, but the Lumia 900 will hold power all day without the need for a recharge.The menu system is absolutely cool, and it will get even greater when it gets updated to 7.8 in september 2012. I love the live-tiles, though at the moment, some of them are simply too big and bulky. But 7.8 will fix that.The lumia has free Nokia GPS which is pretty cool, though I don't use it. But it's there. The maps aren't as good as Google's, but there is an app for that. (Uh, copyright infringement, eh Apple?)At first I hated that the Lumia 900 imported all my contacts from facebook and twitter, but once I found out that I could group and link people, it really came in handy. Too bad there is a limitation of 20 people in a group, I hope they fix that in a later update. However, the grouping is what is really great, for it also group the content your contacts post on facebook, twitter or whatever. That's absolutely awesome. No more do I have to read about old classmates commenting on pictures of people that I don't know. This limits the info stream to the people I care about.I hope more apps will appear, and they will - also, I really hope that Microsoft update IE in 7.8, since the browser in no way lives up to Safari on the Iphone.The image quality on the camera is not as good as the iphone. I also find it rather slow, but the action shot app from nokia helps. The best thing about the camera, is at you don't have to push a button to take the picture; simply press the screen where you want the focus, and the picture is taken. I love that feature. Another good thing is that it is wide angle and f/2,8, which means that it will work in low light conditions.Last and not least, you don't have the same phone as everybody else. Yes, iPhone and Android phones surpass the Lumia 900 in many ways: Like better browser, camera and more apps in stores. But the windows phone has something I can't really place. I love this phone as much as I loved the Iphone 4s. Perhaps it is because that I'm no longer running around with the same phone as everybody else, or perhaps it is because that I can sort in all the BS coming from facebook and twitter. In any case, I'm happy that I bought this phone, and I give it four stars.

I've been using an iPhone 3GS for 3.5 years, and a couple of Android phones for the past 1.5 years (although I generally switch back to the iPhone - it just WORKS). I was excited about the unlocked European Galaxy Note as I love WACOM screens. My problem is that the Android operating systems on both the Note and the HTC Inspire seems awkward and buggy compared the iOS. So here I am, 4 months in advance of my subsidized upgrade with AT&T, trying to determine whether I'll bite on the iPhone 5 or something else. I read about Windows Phone with interest, as prior to my first iPhone, I had several different Windows phones with the earlier operating systems. I figured I'd try Windows Phone 7.5 in the no-contract Nokia.PositivesThe phone works very well as a phone - great reception and volume, virtually no dropped callsWindows Phone OS is easy to useSyncs well with our exchange serverScreen is greatOffice appsKindle works wellNokia Drive is very useful, specially the latest version that allows downloaded state mapsMy first LTE phone, and web connectivity is FASTNegativesApps - if by the time my upgrade is available (February), the Starbucks and Sugarsync apps are not available in either 7.5 or 8, it will be a deal-breaker for me. Those are "must-haves"The voice-command cannot be disabled (at least I haven't found a way to do it). If windows phone 8 does not have the ability to disable voice command, it will be another deal-breaker. I hate the fact that Apple will not allow you to disable the iPod app, and consequently I cannot have any music on my phone, as it will begin to blare music in meetings and movie theaters, even when on silent. At least Apple allows you to disable voice dialing. I cannot use a blue-tooth headset without a simple physical on-off switch. It is arrogant of Apple and Microsoft to not allow the disabling of these features.The viability of Nokia. I hope they are able to survive as they make great phones.Not the fault of the phone, but it was advertised s "New", and it arrived with the seal on the box broken. It looked unused and it has worked flawlessly, but still ..Bottom line for me will be the features and apps available in Windows 8. From what I've read, apps that are available for Windows 8 on the PC will be easy for developers to port to Windows phone. If that is the case, I'm optimistic that my must-have apps will be available. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the Nokia 920 in the next few weeks, as it looks like my device of choice if I stay with Windows Phone.Overall, I'm pleased with the Nokia 900, as it is a very competent phone

This is a great phone. I switched from an iPhone 4 to it. It can translate a menu written in a foreign language just by taking a photo of it! It has Siri-like integration built into it and it works very well for search and stuff. I can attach more than one attachment to an email.My contacts are fully integrated with all their LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter information rolling up together in one view. Speaking of which, it takes 2 minutes to transfer all your contacts wirelessly via bluetooth to your new Nokia Lumia 900, all you need to do is download the free Nokia Contacts Transfer app that comes with the phone, pair and voila! I have ~3000 contacts, no glitches whatsoever. The phone has Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) built into the operating system. Nokia REALLY knows how to build the phone part of a smartphone, and it shows. Call reception quality is fantastic. No issues there. The screen isn't a retina screen like iPhones have, but its quality is very, very very good! In sunlight, the screen is unbelievably clear for use. I have most of the iPhone apps I'm used to, and all my music (my entire iTunes Library) from Google Music streams through an app called Cloudmuzik. No issues at all there. I miss Audible, Dropbox, GoodReader and Mint, but I know it's only a matter of time before they show up. I can be patient.The software is very smooth, no lags or skips and the interface is beautiful. Battery life is long and trouble free. I'm not here to put down other phones. Buy what suits you, but this is a really good device from a company with a great reputation and 50% of all mobile patents, including most foundational ones on LTE technology. The camera is the only thing that hasn't lived up to expectations, it's not as good as an iPhone camera, particularly in low light situations. There's a pink haze at the center of the photo focus that persists, not sure why? I hope Nokia fixes this soon enough. Windows phone is a solid OS, and Nokia is a very reputable hardware maker. You can see that they collaborated thoughtfully to produce a great product. Did I mention the phone comes with free, fully downloadable, offline (you don't need to use data) turn by turn navigation in 60 languages with maps for 100 countries? Fantastic!Seriously, Nokia have over-delivered for a $50 phone, but I guess they're like Avis, trying harder. The amazing thing is that even if you buy the phone outright, it costs only $450. Best value for money for an LTE smartphone.SOFTWARE ISSUE FIXED!I personally didn't experience the data connectivity issue reported, but on Friday April 13th, three days earlier than promised, Nokia shipped a software update that fixed the issue for those affected. You still get to keep the $100 they offered for the inconvenience as long as you bought the phone before April 21st, 2012. Below is the dedicated page with video and written instructions for how to fix the issue.[...]The issue was caused by a data memory overload problem in software that handles the SIM card. Nokia has set a new bar for responding to a problem with dedication and promptness, but if you're still unhappy and disappointed, you can return your phone to an AT&T store for a full refund.

Having been an Apple or Samsung user for years, I was slightly nervous about switching to a Windows phone. However, in line with the majority of other reviews, the Nokia Lumia 1320 is feature-packed, easy to use - and an absolute pleasure to have.
I'd highly recommend it for anyone thinking of moving away from Apple or Samsung - you will be pleased you did!

Compared to my wife's Moto G, screen reaction is slow. I can't get the camera too work. Supplied with Windows 8.0 and cannot get an immediate update to 8.1.
Nokia and Microsoft need to get their act together.

In one sense I feel really sorry for the guys at Nokia who have been working on this phone. If Elop hadn't announced the death of Symbian then this phone would have been an absolute smash hit. But, like the Nokia N9 before it, sounding the death knell of the eco-system and then bringing out more units for the system really doesn't make much sense for marketing the product. And when you look at recent Nokia products you come to realize just how skilled and diverse Nokia is as a company - in late 2011 and early 2012 it has brought out phones using 3 different eco-systems, all to notable acclaim. Now compare that with Apple and you realize the substantial accomplishments that are still being made at the Finnish phone giant, despite the fact that Elop really made a big strategic gaff in announcing that Symbian would be ditched when he did.In terms of the phone itself, rather than re-hash what others have said, I will just do my own list of pros and cons:Pros - the camera (unparalled) - Nokia maps (excellent) - the playback sound quality (very good) - the speaker ( - loudest and best quality I've heard in any phone) - the battery life (very good) - the removable battery (great for long trips when you can carry a charged replacement) - the ability to add a substantial amount of memory - the wide range of (very good) social media apps available on Nokia app storeCons - does not always charge when connected to mains ( - don't know why this is) - limited apps ( - for example no gas station price location app) - muffled sound when receiving calls which makes it hard to hear sometimes, particularly on international calls - the bulge in the phone where the camera and sensor are, which really requires a case, and for some reason (unlike with the N9), Nokia didn't provide one with the phone, which given how much you're paying, I think they should have done. - very occasional Symbian freezes, which then require a reboot - the virtual keyboard, which even with Swype, makes writing a message much more laborious compared with my previous phone, the Nokia N9 ( - hopefully this con will be fixed with an update)Given the substantial pros of this phone, I can live with the niggling cons, and would fully recommend anyone wanting a better than average cameraphone or versatile smartphone to look into getting this phone.Really, if you think about it the future is bright for Nokia - just imagine it - a Windows 8 Pureview phone - it will crush the Windows 8 competition, which really is the reason that this phone marks another turning point for the Finnish phone giant. And just for the record, I think I should disclose that yes, I own (a small amount of) Nokia shares as well as the 808 Pureview and the Nokia N9!

I did a fair amount of research and finally I made the right decision to go for this Nokia 900. Actually an IT friend who ordered this Nokia for his IT Department workers recommended this Cellular phone to me after I told him what features I was looking for. I really enjoy using this phone especially the Windows based software. Ideal for storing the information that I require and very user friendly.It is an ideal travel companion.There will be many occasions where I would not need my normal camera as this cell takes excellent photos and stores them easily. I will not hesitate to recommend this unit to anyone, especially as it is very cost competitiveness.

I've been keeping an eye out for the Lumia 900 for some time because it felt like the first device that did Windows Phone's sleek interface justice. And then there's the Windows Phone OS itself, which unlike iOS or Android (iOS clone with flexibility) takes a completely novel approach to mobile computing. And the result...is mind-blowing. Sure, initial reviews, impressions, and brochures can tell you the specs of a device, but what's it like living with it?I admit, I was reluctant to jump ship and use Windows Phone as my daily driver because my Nexus ONE got everything I needed done, done. It was clunky at times, but I knew there was an app for every task I would do while on the go -- at this point, I was seriously contemplating the Galaxy Nexus. However, having watched dozens of videos and tutorials on more recent iterations of WP7, it seemed like the operating system was finally ready to play on par with the big boys, and I reconsidered.Well, I was wrong. It's better than the heavy hitters. Tasks that would take me 3-4 steps on an Android I can now do in 1-2, and that might not seem like much, but when you want to pull your phone out, get something done, and move on with life, it's huge. Living with the 900 for a month now, I've come to expect that level of delivery from smartphones. Recently, when a friend of mine asked for help on her Android, I was both surprised and disappointed by the flow-feeling interface, and unnecessary keystrokes.It took me a little while familiarizing myself with the interface, I can't lie there -- but now, it's hard to imagine getting anything done without it. I'm not sure how I was living with my Nexus.Here's some of what makes this device unique to me. And I use these features daily:- Microsoft Office- XboxLIVE integration (& companion app)- Zune sync- Bing! Music search (Like Shazam, but takes you straight to the marketplace)- Native Facebook integration (good for quick checks)- SkyDrive sync (There's something mind-boggling yet fascinating about pictures you take being uploaded to your cloud storage the moment they're taken. I love it.)Of course, the 4G and head-turning looks certainly don't hurt, either.All in all, the phone has exceeded my expectations. While I was interested in the WP7 OS because of its stunning looks and unique features, I was reluctant to take a leap of faith using it as my daily driver until I saw NOKIA's hardware.Some will say NOKIA's best option was to become an Android OEM, but I disagree... The Lumia 900 is a beacon of hope -- the first step of a partnership that will make devices for the sole purpose of blowing our minds while getting crap done.So, to all the non-believers out there: I know how you feel because I've been there. WP7 is a fledgling OS that has yet to prove itself, and on paper, sure...its hardware specs are NOT on par with the latest Android devices. But the Lumia 900 doesn't need it. It is optimized so it can finish jobs faster than a dual or quad-core android device, and throw in a sense of accomplishment for no extra charge.Give it a chance. I did.

I have an Android smartphone on T-Mobile's network and it works well, but my plan only has 100 minutes to last the entire month. Since I occasionally have days when I have to make a lot of sales calls and my experience with VOIP has been nothing but bad, I decided to get another line and activate it on the $2 pay by the day plan. Basically, you pay $2 and get unlimited calling for that day, plus unlimited EDGE data.I tried swapping the SIM into my smartphone, but quickly found out that using ANY data after midnight makes it charge your account for the day. So unless I remembered to remove the SIM after I was done, it would charge my account. So I decided to get a cheapie handset to use only on heavy call days and just keep the PBD SIM in it all the time.The build quality on the 1661 is extremely cheap. The body is all plastic and as far as sturdiness goes it seems OK but it feels pretty cheap in the hand.Call quality is OK, but I did notice the service bars occasionally dropped one bar while my smartphone stayed at 5 bars.The keypad buttons are rows of a single piece of flat plastic. They do light up, but forget about differentiating them by feel. I would not want to do a lot of texting on it. You might expect that big black square in the middle of the directional pad is an OK button, but it's not. You have to press the Select soft key to choose items.There is no volume rocker, you have to change the volume through the menu while in a call. There is no Bluetooth, but it does have a 2.5 mm monaural headset jack. Using a headset with a volume control can help you get around the lack of a volume rocker switch.The 1661 has no data capability whatsoever. Not even T-Zones or MMS. Fine for me, but you'd better like the wallpaper because there isn't any way to make your own since it doesn't have a camera. No SD card slot or USB jack either, but you can make your own ringtones by recording them through the microphone.The menu is basic, but well organized. The most notable extra features are the radio and flashlight. The flashlight isn't very bright, but it's better than nothing and it will work as long as the phone has a charge. The radio does work, so this phone might be good for those who want to listen to music while working out but don't want to carry an expensive phone to the gym.Overall, a cheap but decent backup phone. If you want something for your main phone, I'd probably look elsewhere.

Unfortunately the majority of the knocks on the LUMIA 900 and the Windows OS (MANGO) are so obviously written from a "...because its not like the IPHONE" point of view. I struggled for a longtime with the decision to break away from the APPLE ecosystem. I have a IPAD but I still use my PC for productivity. The IPAD and the IPHONE work together so seamlessly. All my plugs and adapters work together so why not stay with APPLE?The fact is that the change isn't nearly as dramatic as I thought it would be and the phone works beautifully. I wanted something different and because WINDOWS/NOKIA is competing they throw everything at you. For $99, I get built in Navigation (voiced), Transit schedules (every major city and then some), Maps (for online and offline use), Text Messaging (read & written by voice via bluetooth), Code Scanners (those weird boxes u see in magazine ads and store windows), etc. Yeah I know the IPHONE has all that for $100 more. The reality is that the specs are irrelevant to most of you. Someone writes that the IPHONE's pixel density on the screen is superior. Trust me when I tell u that you won't notice. That is for someone looking for a writing point. The camera? Well the Iphone 4s does have sharper pictures but again you won't notice much and I use my Canon for important pictures anyway. ITUNES versus ZUNE. It seems like a pain to have both since I still use my shuffle for the gym but want content on my windows phone. Its not. Unlike ITUNES, ZUNE isn't a space hog and easily reads the music on your computer and translates it to Zune format for easy transfer to your phone. Perfect, even though I don't use my phone in the gym but only keep podcasts on my phone. The ITUNES APP STORE is bigger by far but I find that with the exception of Words With Friends I miss nothing. APPS are overrated since most of us only use 20% of the ones on our phone.As for the size of the LUMIA, ask yourself why the new IPHONE is getting a larger screen? The LUMIA is not hard to hold but no it is not as small as the Iphone. You get used to it just like you got use to the touch screen when you thought that wasn't gonna ever happen. Well that is a good thing since many of us have started using our phone to type emails and documents*, watch movies, play games, etc. The bigger screen is so much better for those things. You buy a case which has rubberized grips and your fine. Besides, the LUMIA's build quality is great and doesn't bulge crazy in my suit jacket. It is just fine in my car cup holder and obviously a bag holds everything fine. So, ignore the APPLE shilling among the AT&T employees (they get a bigger commission I suspect from the IPHONE)and jump on the next cool thing and stop being like everyone else. You will have no buyers remorse. This phone is beautiful. *Microsoft Office on your phone has the wonderful benefit of making editing, downloading, and reading documents on your phone a wonderfully easy and intuitive experience.

I was waiting on this phone for months. I loved the design and truly expected this to be one amazing phone that would provide an experience far better than Android or iOS. However, this phone falls short in many areas. I'll point to those shortcomings to provide a counter to many of the glowing reviews.Interface (lag):For some reason Windows Phone 7 on the Lumia 900 is laggy. When scrolling through the main menu, as well as application menu, there is a noticeable lag. By this I mean that the menu response to a flick, or quick scroll, is absent. The phone seems like it has a purposeful resistance to quick scrolling. This lag is NOT present in the Titan, Titan II, and Samsung Focus.Apps (inconsistent behavior & missing apps):For my purposes, key applications are missing such as: Angry Birds Seasons, Angry Birds Rio, Angry Birds Space, Native Google Voice, Dropbox, Square, Mint, Draw Something, Instagram, Native Pandora, and Words With Friends. I'm not purchasing this phone on the hope of the apps it will get, but rather the apps is currently has. Additionally MS created many of the so called "native" apps such as Facebook and Twitter, and they are not good. The scrolling inertia and loading times vary so much between applications.For social networks, I understand it integrates into the phone, but the integration simply doesn't function as well as native applications in my opinion. Additionally, if I go to updates it starts at the latest update and doesn't keep my position from where I last read/left off, this is a huge oversight and I would at least want the option to keep my last position as I use Twitter for news updates. The layout, although simply beautiful, is not practical when reading tons of updates; it's simply style over function.Vibration Rattle (Main Reason I Returned Phone)Not all phone's may have this, but whenever my phone vibrated it had a loud rattle. The vibration on this phone is very strong, and combined with an autofocus lens that rattles, when the vibration goes of it causes the lens to shake and rattle very loud. I had to turn the vibration off because it was simply too loud.CameraIt's not good. For a flagship (WP7) phone the camera is mediocre at best. Lots of noise, poor white balance, and the camera rattles.Build:Where is the curved glass of the Lumia 800? I don't like that the glass just seems to sit on top of the phone and it does take away from the overall feel and design. The phone is thinker and heavier than I expected. I also noticed light leak coming from the navigation buttons into the screen. I understand this is picky, but Nokia prides itself of build quality so it's fair to point out issues.OverallI returned this phone and wasn't at all impressed. There are much better choices. For $100 dollars, the iPhone 4 (not 4s) as well as the Galaxy SII (now averaging $70) are a much better choice on the AT&T network if you're in an area without LTE. For new customers you can find the Galaxy SII for free with a new contract. For those that want LTE, for about $100 dollars more I would certainly go with the Galaxy SII Skyrocket.

I wanted to write a review days after upgrading to a Windows phone, but needed time to go by so I could work the "bugs" out, figuring out what does and doesn't work for me.I'm a blogger and write Keep the Tail Wagging. The reason I upgraded to a Window's phone was that I thought it would be better than my Blackberry for blogging and it has been fantastic.Pros...1. I love the size; it's been so long since I've had a "big" phone that it was weird at first. It felt like I was putting a tablet near my ear (an exaggeration), but I love it.2. I love being able to tether wirelessly for internet. I didn't think I would need the Internet Sharing, but I've used it when I had my notebook and Kindle Fire with me.3. The app store is great. I have access to so many cool, free apps. They're easy to check out, read reviews, and download.4. Windows isn't always updating it; I've never had to power down to reboot and when I do update/back up, it's a matter of plugging it into my computer.5. Nice camera (see more below) although it did take some getting used to, love that I can easily take a self-portrait and quickly upload it to Facebook, and I love the video function.6. I like that I can scroll through all of my social networking updates.Cons...1. Being a smart phone, the battery life blows. It gets better when you turn off a lot of background apps and it gets better when the newness wears off. This phone was barely out of my hand the first couple of weeks. Now I only have to charge 1x a day unless I'm doing a lot of social networking, then it's 2x.2. About the camera; I can't upload to Twitter or other social networking sites, which is a bummer. This may be something I'm doing wrong, but it doesn't work. This is a big one - I can't upload to my Facebook page from my phone. That is a bummer!3. The visual voice mail only worked for about a month and then it stopped. The store tried to get it started again, but it didn't work. I didn't really use it, so no worries.4. The Facebook sometimes doesn't work well - if someone comments on your status update, I sometimes have to go through the app to see it. The Facebook page can't be linked to my phone.5. I have the worst time texting someone for the first time. I cannot figure out how to simply do this - there's no "message this person" option under people's names, only calling.All in all, I love my phone and I'm happy with the investment. It was completely worth it and I get a lot of work done just with my phone. Of course I'd like more, but who wouldn't?

I am an AT&T customer since 2002. I was due for an upgrade for at least a year, and I was holding on to it as I was not impressed with anything out there..until Nokia Lumia 900 showed up. I pre ordered it on 4/2 from AT&T and received mine on 4/6. I have been using this phone heavily for the last one week, and here are my impressions:Pros:- Excellent build quality, it feels solid in your hand. The polycarbonate shell is just amazing. It feels real premium in your hand, you have to hold it in person to understand what I am trying to convey.- Signal strength on this phone is absolutely amazing. If you have trouble with getting adequate signal in places that matter, I will absolutely recommend this phone. Nokia pedigree shows.- Great battery life. With above average use, 3 email accounts, bluetooth on, WiFi on, I have 20% or more juice left by the time I go to sleep.- I am on conference calls often, and the speakerphone on this phone is real good.- I am not a blind follower of any OS, but Windows Phone 7.5 Mango is very intuitive, easy to use and real fluid. It is designed in a way to reach your most used tasks in 2 to 3 clicks. This takes away some of the extreme customizations you can do on some other OSes, but for most users, this will be a nonissue.- The data speeds on LTE is blindingly fast. If you are in an LTE area, and use data on the go, this is the phone to get. It works well on AT&T HSPA+ network also, so don't hesitate to try if you are not in LTE area.- Nokia provides a free turn by turn Navigation on this phone with downloadable maps. This is pretty cool as you don't need a data connection to use this. Very helpful for people who travel to Europe.Edit: Another reviewer just reminded me of another pro. The circular polarising ClearBlack display helps you read better in direct sunlight.Cons:The cons on this phone are very minor from my perspective. However to bring some balance to my review, here are some:- The camera is great for outdoor shots, but not that great indoors. A lot of this I believe is due to user error, ie. getting used to the 2 step camera button. If you can get into the manual settings and tweak, you can get much better shots. Normally, Nokia issues software updates for their phones to improve the camera over time, I hope this would be the case.- The piece of metal around the camera scratches pretty easily. There are some gel cases that snugly fit without taking away the beauty of this phone that could help ease this.- Screen attracts finger print easily, but I guess that is the case for all touchscreen phones.- App store for Windows is still in a growth stage. There are some 80000+ apps in there, but a lot of them are poor quality (same with other OSes too). I found most of the 20+ apps I need, but if you are looking for a lot of apps, please check Microsoft Windows Phone webpage if your favorite app is available.PS: Did I say this is an absolute beauty? The word stunning will be an understatement in my opinion. I mean there is nothing like it, and if you are looking to stand out of the crowd, this is the one to pick. Once you hold it, everything else looks so boring.

Ok so I reviews the phone n had quite a few negative points...but having the phone in my had i was blown away by the pictures and of course the battery life...2 days and without charging.....im happy

Bought this phone from the Microsoft Store...I couldn't wait 2 days on Amazon to get the phone...at $99 this phone is unbeatable in price. Plus if bought before April 21st, Nokia will give $100 AT&T credit bringing this phone to FREE! I heard many arguments about Windows Phone to IOS to Android..the number of apps in the other OS is getting old....I'm able to find many apps that I need from the Marketplace from Pandora (MetroRadio or wpFandora) to money organization app...the Live Tile needs to get used to but coming from Android static icons with a background it's a breath of fresh air to something new. If you are into browsing 100,000s of apps as your daily use of a smartphone this is probably not the phone for you. If you are looking for dual core, HD screen thinking of future OS updates, than also look elsewhere. A smartphone you buying today is to be used today, 24 months from now, there will be a complete set of new phones with different specifications and OS update. I suggest looking into the WP Marketplace to see if they have the apps you are looking for before buying this phone...if you are just looking for a phone to browse the internet at LTE speed, integrated Social Media...this phone rocks!Pros: - Great feel to the polycarbonate..doesn't feel cheap when you hold it - Nokia Drive ---been using Nokia Drive since Symbian and Google Navigation doesn't match to the quality of this GPS Navigation...and its free with off line mapping....it also has like 50+ languges for voice navigation - At $99 for a premium phone...its a no brainer compare to $299 for high end Androids or iPhones - LTE speed is fast compare to the old 3G - easily integrate with Hotmail/Google/Yahoo mail/contacts/calendar - The Cyan color turn heads when you use it waiting in line at Costco - Battery life last a full day on medium use on LTE with Wifi and Bluetooth turned off (My Samsung Galaxy SII will last about 5 hours before I need to charge it) - Playing Spotify on my Samsung Galaxy SII (4G) will last a bit less than 3 hours before I need to charge - Nokia Luma 900 playing Spotify on LTE wil last a good 5 hours before I need to charge it - I left both phone on playing Spotify in a loop on my playlist - Clear Black AMOLED screen, easier to read outdoors in the sun - Can link multiple email inboxes into one inbox for ease of use - Group Messaging so its easier to keep track of group texts in one thread instead of getting each text individually - MS Office syncs to Skydrive and I can edit on my PC and sync itCons: - feels a bit heavy compare to the SII and other phones because of the polycarbonate...doesn't feel plastic toy like a lot of phones out there - Camera is descent but doesn't have the quality of the my Nokia N8 - No free tethering option - No Skype integration yet - No removeable batteries - No USB mass storage option ....will have to go through Zune...I go through Skydrive for my files and MS gives you 20GB of data with Windows PhoneThe pros for me outweight the cons and with Nokia Drive offline mapping, a $99 price tag (FREE till April 21st) this phone is a winner

Phone overheats and cuts out if I play an online poker game for 10/15 minutes.
Couldn't use this phone to make a phone call once you turn it on again. You could not hold the phone to your ear without burning it.
Got a feeling it will be on its way back to you soon.
