Update !! April 13th.: Laid hands on own Lumia 900 y'day. To sum up the topics I raised in my first review:I took my phone to AT&T store to activate without going through the activation process mentioned in the e-mail from Amazon.I was able to keep my "unlimited data plan" and "200msg" without changing anything. It was great to save $80 by buying the phone from Amazon. Now I will wait to get the $100 credit from Nokia :)The setup was breeze and I used "AT&T" contacts/pic transfer feature on the phone. They have a 2GB limit to transfer the contacts and pictures/videos - 1 time. I transferred from Iphone (downloaded the app.) and was able to reload back to Lumia 900. The app. is preinstalled. It took me less than 5 minutes. Note: The contacts get downloaded as part of "windows live id contacts" - i.e. if you go into "People" tile - you can filter the contacts by "Facebook", "windows live id" etc.One thing that made me unhappy is that Lumia has no "label edit" capability in the contact profile i.e. it has "mobile", "home", "home 2", work etc default labels but I cannot edit the name and cannot add "mobile2" if I would like to. AT&T mobile transfer got all information from my iphone which were labeled "mobile" or "home" but if there was more than 1 mobile - the info did not transfer.Setting up e-mail accounts - yahoo and work was easy. Gmail account is giving errors - [...] error(85010017). It looks like many people are having this error - Lumia, HTC, even Ipads to some extent. Something I believe is going wrong at gmail servers. Hope it gets resolved soon.Playing with the screen, settings and apps was fun. Downloading the maps on Nokia drive was quick too - u can download each state individually. Ring tones are awesome. Some might not like the "font" size but it was awesome for me reading my e-mails and browsing explorer. The visibility is great and you don't need to strain u'r self to read the information. It might take some time to get used to swiping up/down after being used to swipe right/left on Iphone.Overall I'm very satisfied so far except for letdown at few instances. I'm hoping future s/w updates will take care of "label" issue and gmail synch problem.April 11:The phone was amazingly slick during my testing at AT&T store. The screen colors were vibrant and I was bowled over by the windows operating system. I spent about ? hour with the phone and there was no looking back. I hope to spend more time on the phone and give a technical review once I lay hands on my personal phone. Maybe I will update my "star rating" once I start using the phone more but for now it's definitely a 4.0 star phone(wish the size was little smaller - other than that I don't think I can compalin). Personally, I believe "Black" is a better choice for regular professionals and Cyan is for those who are in marketing/advertising/college world - bright and catchy. Here's some quick info for who are about to upgrade -I have unlimited data and 200msg plan and I wanted to stick to this plan. On AT&T website I was given the option to continue using my existing plan if I bought the phone there and similarly the option was available if I walked into AT&T store.I bought the phone from Amazon yesterday mainly due to the incredible offer of $20 for the phone. Unfortunately on the Amazon website, you don't have the option to select your existing plan. I spoke to Amazon rep. and was told that they had no control over the plan and I was more than welcome to change back to my old plan if AT&T honors it. So I did select a 3 GB plan.I spoke to AT&T representative at customer service and at AT&T store. They promised me that I can change back to my old plan within 30 days even if I opted for 3GB plan on Amazon. They said my phone is not activated until I call them and walk through the activation process after I receive it from Amazon. During this process I can request to continue my old plan. I really hope this works else I plan to return the phone to Amazon and buy it from AT&T website. I will know it tomorrow/Friday. Will keep everyone posted.I believe everyone has heard about the software glitch (loss of 3G connectivity at times) in the phone - it looks like Nokia is giving $100 credit directly on the bill no matter where you buy the phone - AT&T or Amazon for all purchases before April 21st. They are planning to release an update on 16th. This works out great for me as now I will get additional $80 dollars for activating the phone on Amazon :)I have to commend Nokia for being proactive in addressing the issue. As a product engineer I understand there might be glitches once released for production - especially considering the complexity of the software. Atleast they are being honest about it and providing compensation instead of giving "Zune " gift card / saying it's normal to have this issue like Apple did. I hated it when they just casually said that I should not hold my Iphone 4 in a certain way to avoid losing the signal or that I should bu

My previous phone was an HTC Wildfire running android. I had this phone for 4 months. A few of the issues: The clock/weather app stopped updating weather after 1 month. People could not understand me when making phone calls, and I could not hear the person clearly on the other end. We spent a good amount of time repeating, "what," "huh," and "sorry?" to each other. The maps app took forever to load, and would regularly crash with the message that it had unexpectedly stopped functioning. When it worked, the maps app would take 20-30 seconds to update the current location. Map searches often took a minute or more to complete. Several apps I downloaded were buggy and some would not function at all (backcountry navigator pro). App updates would start, then fail after draining 60% of the battery. 1 hour of regular web browsing (no streaming) would completely drain the battery. Like the maps app, the web browser would crash and freeze all the time. I would regularly make inadvertent phone calls when my finger grazed the touch screen. GPS based apps would leave the gps on and drain the battery even after I pushed the power button to put the phone on standby. Emails sent from the default mail app would sometimes not be sent. Wifi would not automatically connect even when in range. I could not maintain reception in locations (like my office) where my peers had no problem maintaining a cellular connection. After doing a heavy amount of research over the last 2 months, I bought the Nokia Lumia 900 and have had none of these problems. It is a joy to use, and I cannot be happier that I don't have to deal with all the frustrations I have been putting up with over these past 4 months. I'm not a tech expert, and some of the above may have been user error on my part. However, I did spend a good deal of time trying to troubleshoot these problems on my own. The fact that I have had none of these problems on the Lumia 900 speaks incredibly positively to Nokia's phone design and Microsoft's software running on it. I also echo the sentiments of the majority of reviewers: The phone is sexy, beautiful, ergonomic, and fast. The iPhone looks terribly dated in comparison. The majority of press reviews have been knocking the phone's specs being too low - no dual core, lack of RAM, internal memory, etc. I suspect the performance that is achieved on this phone reflects the hard work and the effort put in to programming the software. It reminds me of the days when MS-DOS programs written in assembly language would accomplish amazing things and squeeze every last drop of performance on the hardware the programs were written for. I noticed no perceptible difference between the performance of this phone and those with much higher specs (and prices), including the iPhone 4s.Nokia has also stated that they will be offering a $100 rebate on the Lumia 900 until April 21. This effectively makes it free, whether buying on Amazon or with AT&T. I cannot believe what an amazing deal this is - it really is the best deal I have ever come across on a cell phone this good. This includes some amazing Black Friday deals (which is when I picked up my previous phone). Anyone looking for an upgrade or looking to switch cellular providers should seriously consider purchasing this phone before the $100 off offer expires. Even without it, the phone is an amazing deal for the $50-100 upfront subsidized handset cost. Finally, I cannot stress how nice it is that it is 4G LTE. The actual experience of using data functions like web browsing is in a totally different league when compared to non-LTE phones. In this regard, it really cannot be fairly compared to the iPhone 4/4s; the overall experience of using the Nokia Lumia 900 is a generation ahead of the iPhone. If/once LTE comes to the iPhone, the comparisons will be more valid. I'm really surprised that in press reviews more is not made of this huge advantage that the Nokia has over the iPhone (which is the natural comparison press reviewers have been making). For those who might claim I hold an anti-Apple bias, I also own a new 3rd generation iPad with a 4g Verizon plan. It is without a doubt the best tablet currently on the market. For those of you contemplating whether to take the advice of the press reviewers who have recommended waiting for the iPhone 5 - do yourself a favor and get this phone for free now. You will not regret it.UPDATE 4/11/12First, another general observation: I have read criticisms of those of us like myself who didn't purchase the phone from Amazon (I bought it from a retail AT&T Store) but are leaving reviews here. Amazon is a high visibility site where a lot of shoppers look to reviews to assist in their purchasing decisions. I believe we're leaving honest, helpful info for others, and not having purchased the phone from Amazon does not necessarily make these reviews invalid.Next, some specific experiences. After spending a few minutes entering my personal info for Yahoo mail, Gmail, an

Things about me:- I'm a former AT&T employee- I worked for a mobile app company in Silicon Valley- I'm a tech geek with a love for phones and switch mine out every few months, at full cost- I have been an Android and iOS user for the last 3 years (both job and personal use)Things that I love about this phone:- W7.5 is pretty impressive. It is clean, neat and minimalistic. I have worked with dev in iOS and Android OS. I was a Nokia fan since the 90's (Snake anyone!?) and have always felt that I had a good experience with their Symbian OS phones.- This phone is solid. It does not feel cheap. When I tell people it's $99, they're shocked.- Easy to navigate. Whether you're a smartphone newb or a tech geek like myself, you'll be surprised at the ease of use of this phone.- Screen is clean to read and use. Although I'm young, I hate small screens and this screen is not small. It's small enough to go out in my wristlets but big enough to find in my purse.- Texting/typing on this phone is amazing! I always had to get aftermarket keyboard programs for Android bc the native keyboard blows. This types very intuitively and is not over-intrusive like iOS's keyboard/tying.- Office365/Outlook integration. I work for a MS partner and everything I use is neatly accessible from this phone. It makes my life so much easier to see everything threaded and in the appropriate spaces.- Live Tiles! This is so cool! I can see all the new updates as they come through about a particular person if I have them as a live title on my screen.- Everyone is griping about Pandora not being on W7 phones, but I'm a Spotify gal and it works flawlessly on this phone.- Works great with my Scion's in-car controls... Allows me to drive to SF without worrying about looking at my phone to change the music.- Love the volume/speakers on this thing. Granted it's not the best, I appreciate the loudness of it and it sounds clear.- Camera quality is insane! I took a photo of a busy intersection and it caught a moving car in perfectly clear photo. The car must have been moving at 35-40 MPH! The photo was taken during the day time with plenty of sunlight.- The navigation on this phone is AMAZING! Wow... I will never go back to Google Maps or any other mobile map as the "Maps" native app gives really precise directions that most navi-systems costing hundreds of dollars also do. My bf is a former audio installer and he is impressed at the quality in which the directions were given as they are truly turn-by-turn directions.- Sky Drive is neat but I still installed a 3rd party app to access Dropbox. I prefer Dropbox as I have all my stuff on there already and Sky Drive's login is tied to your Windows Live account.Things that I'm meh about this phone:- Battery life. I was expecting Nokia phones to last like no other but this one is average. With the "battery saving" feature, I can go 15 hours before it beeps that it needs to be recharged. I consider myself a heavy user and I feel that the battery life is adequate for the average user.- I miss some of the touch-and-go features that Android had (brightness controls, on/off wifi/bluetooth, etc.) but realistically, I never used them enough to really care.- The position of the buttons. The volume rocker is at a nice point in the phone and doesn't require me to hold the phone with two hands (I have really small hands!) to turn the volume up or down. The power button is in the middle which totally erks me. And the camera toggle is placed at the bottom which I naturally want to hit as the power button.- The charger being placed at the top. I guess I'm so used to the Android-based phones having the charger at the bottom that I just need to get used to it.- Sometimes, I will double click on the screen during camera mode and the photo won't snap. It's annoying to only have to press the button at the top of the phone to take a photo.- I've done the "hold camera button while your phone is in sleep mode to active camera mode without unlocking your phone" and it seems tricky. Maybe the gel case on my phone makes the responsiveness of the camera button slow but it only works some of the time.- When I turn down the all the way to zero for the ringer, it doesn't go into a silent mode. I have to go and manually turn off the vibration in order for it to be a true silent mode. Lame!- I formerly worked for a mobile phone ringtone company and tried to send the phone a custom ringtone through text message. There's no option to download the ringtone directly from the message. This is sad that you have to download the ringtone onto your desktop, load it up with Zune then sync. (Sound familiar Apple?)- No task killer. I opened up Zune to play a podcast and it wouldn't close completely until much later. My thought: is it still running in the background? Kind of hard to say when there's no way to view what tasks are actually still going.- No removable battery. I'm on the fence about this as I feel that in the long run, this could be a problem w

You cannot find a better deal than the Nokia Lumia 900. I've never owned a Nokia before but after getting my Lumia 900 I might be a customer for life. This phone is made of a material I have never seen or felt before. It feels very solid, smooth and high quality. The cyan color is absolutely beautiful and is definitely the color to get as it really stands out as a special phone. Everything else just looks plain and boring next to this phone. The ClearBlack AMOLED display is absolutely gorgeous and blows away any washed out LCD like the iPhone's. Colors are much more vibrant and images appear to float on the top of the screen like an actual photograph. Blacks are so dark and inky that you can't even tell where the screen meets the bezel. There are videos online comparing the iPhone vs. Lumia 900 and there is no contest; Lumia's display is much better looking and much bigger. The signal strength is amazing and calls sound much better than any phone I've had. Visual voicemail is included with this phone for free and it works extremely well. 4G LTE speeds are blazing fast in NYC. You can get downloads in the range of 20Mbps on this phone. That is faster than most people's home broadband connection. Internet connection sharing with up to 5 other devices is available on some data plans as well. The external speaker on the phone has great volume and since it is on the bottom instead of the back it doesn't get muffled when you put the phone down on a surface or hold it in your hand. Outstanding design Nokia! The camera is very good and can be brought up even when the phone is locked just by holding down the dedicated camera button. You can snap photos in widescreen or fullscreen mode and upload directly to Facebook Twitter or Skydrive without having to open another app. Worth mentioning you also get 25GB of free cloud storage with SkyDrive. Very nice!So far battery life has been incredible by smartphone standards. After using my phone all day yesterday to look at apps, browse the web, take photos, listen to music, etc. I had almost 50% battery left by the end of the day. This phone can last you a day and a half easily on a single charge.AT&T includes some nice apps like U-verse video streaming and MyWireless to check your data usage change your plan or pay your bills. You also get a ton of exclusive apps like Nokia's turn by turn navigation and public transit apps. Nokia owns Navteq the mapping company which provides map data for tons of companies like Garmin so this is a major addition to the value of the phone. There are also exclusive CNN, ESPN, Univision, and college sports applications on Nokia's Lumia phones. These apps are excellent and all have 4 or 5 star ratings from users. There are also a few dozen exclusive apps coming from Electronic Arts for the Lumia phones. I love earning Xbox Live achievements on the go. You can even see your friends avatars and edit your Xbox Live avatar on this phone! There are a ton of great apps on Windows Phone so I'll just highlight a few of my favorites: YouTube Pro lets you download and upload videos to Youtube right from a tile on your start screen. It can play videos in HD as well and you can pin any Youtube channel you subscribe to on the start screen. The pinned live tile will update with the image of any new video that is uploaded to that Youtube channel. Radio Controlled is a Pandora music app that plays all of your Pandora playlists. Gmaps Pro gives you Google Maps on your phone including Google Latitude to track your friends and family. "Hey DJ" lets you use your voice to load songs, artists and playlists. Windows Phone also comes with great apps like voice search and voice to launch any app just by holding down the Windows button and saying "Start Netflix" or "Open Netflix." Fastest way to launch apps in my opinion. You can also search for weather by saying "weather" or find movie show times nearby just by saying "movies." This is Siri without the fluff and back-talk, it just works and it works fast. Most of the popular apps are available as well from Kindle/Audible to USA Today/Fox News to Skype/Tango to Kik/WhatsApp to iHeartRadio/TuneIn to Netflix/Vevo to ESPN/MLB at Bat to GasBuddy/Yelp to eBay/Amazon to Twitter/Facebook to Shazam/SoundHound to WeatherChannel/Accuweather to Spotify/Rdio to Slacker/Last.FM to Flixster/Fandango to Bible/Dictionary to Glympse/IMDB you get the idea. This phone has apps, don't believe anyone who says otherwise. By the end of May the Windows Phone platform will have over 100,000 apps in total. My complaints about the phone are minor, but I wish that they had spaced out the hardware buttons more on the side. The volume rocker should have been higher and the camera button a little bit lower. Sometimes it is a bit hard to find the power button in the middle; a little raised bump like those on your keyboard would have helped. I also would have liked an SD card slot to expand memory. Apps are usually less than 1MB, but if you have a lot of vid

Update: I really like the phone and I still think it's great. However, if you want to get a phone that runs Windows Phone 8, you will need to wait to buy the newer phones when they come out. Windows Phone 8 supports background tasks (so more multitasking capabilities than just freezing the state of an app. This allows you to, for example, receive Skype calls without having the app open), higher resolution screens, NFC support, multi-core processors, more customizable start screen, and native code support. This phone will be updated to 7.8, which will have the newer customizable screen, but other additional features are unknown at this point. For me personally, since I'm a minimalist, the only thing I would really miss if they don't offer it in 7.8 is the background task feature since I want tighter Skype integration. However, counting Skype is owned by Microsoft, I'm still keeping my hopes up. That said, if you want the best of the best and high quality 3D games (havok physics supported!), wait until Windows Phone 8 comes out in Fall of 2012. That said, given the support Nokia has shown to this phone (2 updates already in 3 months. It may be a placebo effect, but I feel like low light shots look much better now) and given their new PureView technology, a Nokia branded Windows 8 phone will probably be a pretty safe bet.I got this phone by preordering it through AT&T, and so far it's been great. This youtube video is great if you want a feel for the phone: [...]You can also find it by searching for "Nokia Lumia 900 AT&T hands-on", created by "gsmarena07", on youtube.Hardware:Physical Layout: The phone looks very slick and has a very smooth feel in the hands. The sim card, micro usb port, and headphone ports are all at the top of the phone. The speakers are on the bottom and all the buttons are on the right side. The power button is actually in between the volume buttons and the camera button, so it did take a bit to get used to. I was a bit worried about the bezel that I heard was around the screen. However, it's barely 1mm high, so it's barely noticeable.Screen: The screen is a gorgeous 800x480 pixel ClearBlack AMOLED display. When they say black, they mean black. The contrast is extremely nice and the colors are very vibrant (very noticeable when comparing it to a HTC Trophy or an iPhone). Using the phone while outside is much better than with other phones since the colors don't get as washed out. If there is any complaint, it will have low resolution. Personally, this doesn't affect me too much. The text on the iPhone display is definitely more crisp, but I only really notice the low resolution if I look really closely (I mean my desktop computer screen has a lower DPI, but the screen is farther away so it's not noticeable). So while using the phone on a regular basis, the low resolution doesn't really bother me. If you have used a retina display though, the lower resolution may be much more noticeable. That said, this is an RGB display, so it looks clearer than all the 1280x720 Pentile displays I've seen.Main Camera: I would say that the cameras are slightly above average. With lots of light, the pictures are great, but in low light, the pictures are riddled with noise. The flash doesn't help much either since it causes red eye and faces becomes too bright. On the bright side, the flash is decently bright (my friend kept on complaining about being blinded). Update: I played around with the camera some more. For low light situations, it's best if you use manual settings. Go into the camera settings, set "Scenes" to night, "Exposure" to 1 to 2 (I usually use 1), and "ISO" to 200(if you have a VERY steady hand and nothing in the picture is moving. This results in better pictures if you can pull this off, but it is kind of hard) to 800 (I usually use 400). Leave the rest of the settings unchanged. Take the picture and use the auto fix feature. This will result in a much better low light picture than if you just used the automatic settings.Front Camera: The quality on the front camera is great. It's better to use this for video chat since the main camera is 8MP vs the front one which is 1MP. The quality is decent.Speakers: The speakers are decently loud but the sound does get distorted at higher volumes. I would say that it is decent for a phone speaker.Call Quality: The call quality is really good. Hearing other people is very clear and my friends say they can hear me very clearly. Using speakers while using the phone works great as well. So far I haven't had a dropped call yet, so using plastic for the case seems to have been a smart design choice. I also have all my contacts set up through my Live account, so it automatically synced the contacts. If you didn't do that, Nokia does have a contact importer app that may work for you. You can find it in the marketplace > Nokia apps.Case: The case has a very solid feel to it and does not feel flimsy at all. The only complaint I have is the silver c

Seriously, you cannot buy a better smartphone at this price. I purchased mine at my local corporate AT&T store for $99 during the pre-sale. I received the phone on Friday the 6th and as someone who has had Blackberry's, Windows Mobile (old versions), several Android devices and even tried an iPhone for a while, this is the best phone I have ever used. The phone itself is solid, well built and has a great feel to it. It is heavier than some other phones, but that is actually a good thing. No plastic feel here. The screen is a nice 4.3" inches which to me is the sweet spot. Not too big yet not too small. I think the iPhone's screen is a bit too small and some of those 4.7 inch screens just are a tad too big. My previous phone is a HTC Inspire which also has a 4.3 inch screen. It is also is easy to read and see the screen in the outdoor sunlight. Something my Inspire struggled with. This is actually my first Windows Phone 7, so I am new to the whole OS.Setup - A breeze!!! No need for instructions or looking online, this was very intuitive. Email setup with my Corporate Exchange server was as simple as putting in my email address and password. Magically, everything started syncing, contacts, email, calendar, task, etc. I also setup my Gmail and Hotmail accounts within seconds. I saved all of my photos from my old phone to a MS SkyDrive account. Log in to your Windows Live account on your phone and everything is there. No hassle, no mess, no worry.Apps - Yes, the reports are true, there are less apps in the Windows Marketplace then on Google's or Apple's. Before deciding on giving this phone a chance I checked the Windows marketplace to see what apps I would miss if I did move. There are some, but nothing that was a deal breaker for me. Your mileage may vary, and I recommend you do this as well before jumping into a Windows device. Most of the major apps are there for me and in fact, some are so much better on the Windows phone. They take nice advantage of not only the Live Tiles on the home screen but the apps seem more integrated into the OS. Check ESPN, Fourquare, CNN, and some other major apps. You will be pleasantly surprised.OS - I was absolutely surprised on how much I like this OS. It is just better than Android and favorably compares to iOS. It is fluid, fast and very responsive. Gone for me is the constant lag of Android and the same old bunch of screens with icons. It may not be for everyone, but if you give it a fair shake, I think most will like it. The integration with Office and the ease of email setup is fantastic. The onscreen keyboard beats any keyboard I have used in Android and the iPhone.Phone - Obviously, this is a phone so that functionality is important. I actually really liked my Inspire and I am a fan of HTC phones, but I found myself constantly dropping calls and lately it seemed to get worse. I also was doing hard resets on the phone every couple days (turning off, battery out) just to get things working again. With the Lumia 900, areas where I knew the calls would drop because they always have, did not. The call quality is great. People on the other end of the line say I sound much better than I did with the HTC. I also had a maximum of 2 bars of signal in my home with the HTC, on the Nokia I get at least three and sometimes 4. I also have yet to drop or miss a call on the Nokia, something I was so used to happening on the HTC daily. Speakerphone is loud, louder than the HTC which is great when driving. BlueTooth setup took seconds in my car and I was able to play Zune through BT onto the car audio system easily. I am new to Zune as well, but they seem to have a great selection and I could only find one band not on Zune that was on iTunes. Obviously iTunes has the edge here, but Zune is no slacker.Battery - Inspire - max 5 hours before it has to be charged, and this is typical of most android devices. This phone has gone on for over 13 hours without a charge and still has juice in it. This week during work will be more telling of the actually battery performance, but it is much better than the any Android device I have used. All in all, this is a great phone and one I can recommend to just about anyone. Would I recommend moving from iPhone to WP7, maybe, maybe not. Depends on how much you like the iPhone. The iPhone is a great phone, no denying that but for me, I prefer a larger screen, and until the iPhone 5 comes out with a larger screen, its just not for me. Would I recommend moving from an Android device to WP7 -- absolutely. Give it a try and you might like it better. Android has its strengths, but WP7 is more polished and faster and just works better. This may be the phone that gives Microsoft and Nokia the push they need to become a contender.4/10/2012 Edit: Took the phone off the charger around noon today and have used it moderately today (couple calls, facebook, twitter, streaming about 1hrs worth of music off Pandora, very few SMS messag

First of all,I do not have any bias over any brand,I like both Apple,Google,Microsoft,Nintendo products, even some products from Sony, Toshiba, etc.Whoever make the best product with good value,I will use it.Not Samsung products,2 of my Samsung products both failed me.My first smart phone was Sony Ericsson P910i, that phone was great. Then I changed to Nokia E61, boy, the build quality of that phone is amazing! Like a tank!I still use that phone at home as a VoIP phone (connect with Asterisk SIP server over WiFi),still using that phone as a back-up GPS (Tomtom with cool Austin Powers's voice. )Over the years, I used P910i, Nokia E61, iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G,3GS, Samsung Galaxy S and more.(And use many more phones in short period of time, like BB curve, HTC 8925, Palm 650, iPhone 4, 4S, about 20 different models )We just bought an iPad 3 in March break. My wife love it, but it's nothing inspire to me.After reading good reviews on Amazon, I bought black one from Rogers Wireless in Canada the second day was available, I bought the last one in the store,so it was selling well even no Ads, no display, no poster, no dummy phone in the store!!!Nokia Lumia 900 is the only phone I keep playing after I got it since the iPhone 2G, the original one.And it impressed me more than the original iPhone.Apple and Google are talking about Post-PC blah, blah. But Microsoft is the one really sit down and re-think what the future should be!They seems find a vision(with Ray Ozzie's help?) on the next-gen mobile communication/computing platform. The way WP7 link, search, organize, display the information, wow, will make billions of people's digital life better. With this OS on the Nokia hardware and services, the Nokia lumia 900 is miles better than any smart phone! Many other reviews said many great things about the phone, I just want to add a few things:0. Dont worry about Apps, Microsoft Visual Studio is the best IDE, (Better than Eclipse. ) writing apps in .net is very productitive, Nokia is selling Lumia in good volume now, developers will jump in, I may even write some apps myself!1. You can link contacts from everywhere, google, my old hotmail account, rarely used facebook, etc. And use the picture on the facebook with the contacts on Google!2. When you upload a picture to the Skydrive or facebook, it will detect faces in the picture, so you can add tags!3. You can press and hold the middle button to make call, just say it, it even recognize my accent!4. press and hold search button, you can do music, image search, and it can do OCR! Will translate words in the picture!5. I like the edge of the screen, you can feel where the glass ends.6. The first version of Nokia Drive won't allow offline search, you need to update to the newest one. Nokia drive is offline, very good if you go oversea or your 3G/LTE connection is not very good. Nokia Lumia 900 use both GPS and GLONASS, it lock in very fast, much better than my old Samsung galaxy S, even quicker than iPhone. Nokia drive also have voice in many language, I remember my Vietnamese friends asking me about voice guide in Vietnamese, now he can have it for his parents!!7. To install Skype, you can go to Skype web site, then send a SMS to your phone, then you can install.8. If you need Google Voice, You can use GoVoice. It's ever better than for me, because I can use it in Canada. Google Voice app for android will not allow you to use it outside of USA.9. There are many very useful Chinese Apps, Bing dictionary, '''' dictionary, '', '''''''etc.10. For users in Canada, you can add apn to temporarily fix the data connection problem: apn: rogers-core-appl1.apn user name: wapuser1 password: wap proxy: 10.128.1.6911. Speaker phone very clear and loud, not as loud as Nokia E61, but way much better than any Samsung/HTC I used before12. Battery life is good, finally I can sync my emails every 15 minutes! I had to turn off email sync on my old Samsung galaxy! I always wondering if Samsung lies on their specs? Battery life on spec always look good, but not in real-life.A few minor things: (Thanks for db's comment, I found solutions for 3,4)1. Google finance web site looks bad in IE.2. Email client can't archive gmail.3. Can not force close App. - YOU ACTUALLY CAN BY GOING INTO SETTINGS, SWIPE OVER TO APPLICATION PAGE AND GO INTO "BACKGROUND TASKS". THIS IS UNNECESSARY THOUGH AS WINDOWS PHONE "TOMBSTONES" APPS WHICH MEANS THEY AREN'T USING ANY CPU AND WILL BE KICKED OUT OF MEMORY AS ITS NEEDED BY THE PHONE FOR TASKS BEING USED.4. Where to find out how many battery left ? No way to turn on/off WiFi easily. - THERE ARE A COUPLE APPS THAT GIVE YOU DIRECT ACCESS TILES TO CERTAIN SETTINGS. "CONNECTION TILES" IS ONE OF THEM. "CONNECTIVITY SHORTCUTS" IS ANOTHER.Overall, amazing phone, go get it, play a few days, the more you use it, the more you will appreciate the OS/hardware.Nokia Lumia 900 is the next big thing:Best mobile device for the Post-PC era

Its user friendly. It has similar functions with my windows 8 laptop. When I am going to work from outside town I simply send information to my phone and carry my usb cable. Upon arrival, I simply connect to the computer and do my work. I don't need to carry my laptop around. I can scan documents and send through email. It has met my expectations as I wanted a phone that can save as a computer when I am not in the office.

As others have experienced, these appear to have been sourced from various countries and been unlocked. Mine was French, so I had to change language and get rid of some French carrier's apps (one I can't remove). The seal was broken on the box and the box was torn and scuffed, however the phone was still in its (opened) cellophane and was unmarked. The instructions were missing.
I bought primarily to try Windows Phone 10 Preview and it installed fine after a number of critical V8 upgrades, so be aware that you'll have to wait while it does these upgrades. Another reviewer says that the screen is really bright - well it's OK but nothing special. Battery life looks to be good but I wouldn't trust to last more than a day. There is no gyro on this model so some apps may not install - e.g. the Cycloramic camera app. Size and weight slightly more than an iPhone 6+ or Samsung Note, so not a trouser pocket job.

I got this phone Nokia Lumia 1320 to replace the same model I have used for the past 17months, I LOVE THIS PHONE. However, The sound quality for phone calls, on this new one is very poor, in comparison to the original. I bought a new rather than reconditioned, so that I would get like for like. For this reason am VERY, VERY disappointed.

Its big , but for playing games and videos its ideal compared to my old 3.5 inch Nokia, the phone is a bit slow on starting up to access the internet, you have to wait around 3-4 minutes. It was a bit to big for my jacket pocket, so bought the smaller, cheaper lumia 520 for out and about , and use the 1320 whilst at home.

Let me preface this by saying that I received my Lumia 900 from AT&T two days ago, and what a phone it is! First off, I received the phone for free with an AT&T service plan. That is hard to beat. But even for the price of the new iPhone, which I understand is a couple of hundred dollars, I think this phone is worth it.Software:The connectivity and ease of use are so apparent that within five minutes of turning on the phone, I was on Facebook, chatting with friends, had downloaded all my contacts online, setup my email, and was calling my best friend to test the call quality. I didn't pull anything over from my previous phone, just let Windows Mobile do its thing. It's difficult for me to imagine that other operating systems can compete with the ease and breadth of use this system offers. Every single piece of software seems integrated. One can easily jump from Facebook, to Twitter, to email, to a phone call, etc. In fact, the phone notified me when people so much as "liked" a comment of mine on Facebook, and mind you I wasn't in Facebook when this was happening. That brings me to my second point, the phone is fast. I downloaded ten or so free applications in less than ten minutes. Even via WiFi, I was impressed with the phone's response time, as I was able to download maps for the entire United States on Nokia Drive (~2 GB) in ~15 minutes. Third, with all the complaints I've read about applications, I feel that it's important to touch on this aspect of the experience. Like I was hinting at before, the phone comes loaded with a bunch of applications so that right off the bat, you are texting, calling, pulling up Facebook, etc. On top of that, there are a ton of free applications for many of the sites I use most: Yelp, IMDB, Ebay, Amazon, YouTube, Evernote the list goes on... With Nokia, you also get a ton of free applications including ESPN (which is really awesome if you like sports), USA Today, Nokia Drive, Nokia Maps, Nokia Radio, etc. In fact, I would argue that most of the important apps are there. That said, there are some applications that you won't find including Pandora. Finally, one thing that I always hated about my iPhone was it seemed like I had to sign in for every darn little thing. With this phone, I downloaded everything, including paid applications, without signing in. That's right, I signed into my hotmail account when I first turned on the phone, and after that...nada.Hardware:Simply put, the hardware is stunning! The phone has quickly become one of the proudest items I own. I have the cyan blue version and it catches my attention every time I look at it. It really is something that you have to see to appreciate. Additionally, the single cut, polycarbonate body feels amazing in the hand. Be forewarned that the polycarbonate isn't metal and will scratch if it contacts a rough surface, but the body does achieve a sturdiness that is welcome in a device susceptible to dropping. Moreover, the display while fingerprint prone is stunning. Even with what I understand to be lower graphics than the new iPhone, the brightness, size, and definition are quite impressive. Turning to the camera, while I didn't compare the quality to other phones myself, I have seen some comparisons online that show mixed reviews depending on lighting, focus, etc. This probably isn't the phone to buy if the camera is the most important feature for you, but for the average user it will be more than enough. Separately, the storage space cannot be upgraded, so bear that in mind if you intend on downloading a lot of content. Turning to battery life, I used the phone pretty much non-stop for the first couple of days and it lasted about 7-8 hours - decent given that I was streaming videos as well as surfing the web. I recently spoke with a representative who indicated that an update is imminent and will likely contain power saving features. Given that I've heard some good things about the Lumia 800's update as it relates to extending battery life, I'm hoping the same applies here. Lastly, the phone has excellent call quality. I've long wondered how other phones with poor call quality receive so much praise. Isn't a phone (even a "smart" one) centered around the ability to make calls? Well, for me, call quality is clutch. And Nokia delivers in 1990's fashion, which is to say the call quality lives up to Nokia's past reputation. I found that the sound was crisp, the volume range was impressive, and the signal didn't fade a bit.In short, Nokia and Microsoft have teamed up to create a user experience that really blows me away. At $100 or less with a service plan, it would be hard to compete with the Lumia 900. Good work Nokia & Microsoft and looking forward to future devices!

I want to start off my review by stating that I am a HUGE Windows Phone fan and already own both the original Samsung Focus and the first HTC Titan (both which are great phones). I felt compelled to upgrade to Nokia's Lumia 900 to experience Nokia's build quality and ATT's LTE speeds. The Lumia 900 is absolutely gorgeous and has a huge screen measuring 4.3 inches. The phone feels great in my hand and can be operated easily with just one hand. My HTC Titan with its 4.7 inch screen was a little difficult to use one handed so I really think Nokia hit the sweet spot at 4.3 inches. I do wish the screen sat flush with the bezel like the Lumia 800 because the 900's screen does protrude slightly which isn't as aesthetically pleasing to me. This is just my opinion and doesn't impact the functionality of the phone one bit. Overall this phone is gorgeous! The Windows Phone OS restricts the screen resolution to 800x480 which by today's standard is a bit low but as with most Windows Phones you will be hard pressed to even realize this during everyday use. The Lumia 900's screen will melt your eyes with its beauty. I don't know what magic technology Nokia uses for this screen but everything looks AWESOME on it. The colors and text jump right off the screen and is very readable even in direct sunlight. I really feel this is the best screen I have ever seen on a smartphone. The Lumia 900 is powered by a 1.4 GHz single core processor with 512 MB of RAM which is more than enough power as the Windows Phone OS runs sooooo smoothly on this phone. Nothing slows this phone down and everything responds instantaneously. You get 16 GB of storage which may not sound like a lot to some folks but I already have a ton of apps, games, music and videos on my phone and still have 8 GB's free. Unfortunately there is no memory card slot so the 16 GB is all this phone will ever have. You do get access to 25 GB of free storage on Microsoft's SkyDrive which is integrated well in to the OS so you can always store your pics and docs in the cloud if you run low on storage. This is the first 4G LTE Windows Phone (the new HTC Titan that came out yesterday is also LTE) and ATT's speed in the Boston area has been superb! I am averaging a little over 10 Mbps in and around Boston with peaks going up as high as 17 Mbps. This phone flies on the internet which makes it feel even faster. I cant get over just how fast the data speeds are on this phone.I have only had the phone for 2 days but the battery seems to be very good. I went through the entire day yesterday using my phone quite a bit without having to recharge. I bet this thing will easily last through an entire work day on LTE. As the week progresses and I get a better idea of the battery life I will update my review. The call quality so far has been fine but I don't make many calls. The people that I have spoke to on this phone stated that I sounded very good. The 8 megapixel camera on the Lumia 900 takes great photos but some of the pics did come out a little oversaturated. They still look really nice though and it could be just where and how I was taking the pics. While the app store is not nearly as large as Apples or Googles it does have over 70,000 apps now and I have found that almost every app I used on my past phones has a counterpart on Windows Phone. You will also find the Windows Phone versions of your favorite apps look, feel and operate better than the ones on iOS and Android. Just wait to you open apps like USA Today or IMDB. They are truly magnificent. If you are a gamer and own an XBOX 360 then you really should be on Windows Phone as XBOX Live is integrated right in the OS and compatible XBOX Live games on Windows Phone include achievements so even on the go you can get those glorious little achievement notifications that some people have become addicted to!If you are first time smartphone buyer or looking for something better than iOS or Android then you cant go wrong with the Lumia 900. For the price what you get is amazing. I highly recommend this phone!UPDATE 04/13/2012: As you may have heard a limited number of the Lumia 900's had a bug that messed up its LTE connection. My unit did not have this issue but there were some out there that do. The good news is that Nokia release a software update last night that fixes this issue completely so you can buy a new Lumia worry free now! Also, remember that if you purchase a Lumia 900 before April 21st on ATT you will receive a 100 dollar credit on your bill!!! So if you are eligible for an upgrade at this time you essentially get the Lumia 900 for FREE if you purchase before April 21st!! This also applies to anyone that has already purchased the phone as well. Awesome!!!

I absolutely love this phone! It fits my needs to a T - although my needs may not be the same as yours. For instance, I'm not a social butterfly and don't do Facebook or Twitter. What I do love about this phone is the amazing camera and video capabilities, music playback/streaming abilities, and Maps with voice guidance. The camera is the true star of this phone and plenty has been written and reviewed about it, so I won't go into this other than to say that even a non-photographer such as myself can take some fantastic pics. Check some of the Flickr groups to see what this phone is capable of. It is truly jaw-dropping. I am dedicated to improving my camera skills thanks to the Pureview. And knowing that you have a world class camera with you AT ALL TIMES is a great feeling. For music- I'm a big fan of internet radio and there are plenty of options with Symbian/Nokia Belle. They have their own very nice Internet Radio app (great home screen widget) available free in the Ovi store. I also found another free and capable app called RadioSymba that is available via SourceForge. But I love and use LCG Jukebox (paid app) from Lonely Cat Games. Get it.Regarding the bugs that much has been written about in these reviews and elsewhere: the rebooting issue manifested after 2-3 weeks of ownership but now has disappeared. I'm not sure if it was something I did to stabilize the phone, but it's rock solid now. In fact, it has the best call quality in my basement (notorious black hole) than any phone I've had. No drops or disconnects. What I did: 1) Reinstalled the OS through Nokia Suite 2) turned APN control off (settings> connectivity> settings> APN Control- long press, it will scan the SIM and then report Access Unrestricted. Hope that helps. FWIW: I have T-Mobile and got a new micro-sim rather than cutting down an old one. Speaking of T-Mobile (and why I love Nokia)-- my first Nokia phone was the 5230 Nuron T-Mobile branded/locked. When T-Mo introduced that phone they offered unlimited high speed data for $10/mo. Why? They didn't consider Nokia/Symbian to be a "smartphone" (thanks iPhone/Android snobbery). I realized that by sticking with Symbian and Nokia's pentaband tuners I have truly unlimited 3.5G data for $10 a month and a flagship device.Nokia Maps are the standard bearer of the industry and work flawlessly, and voice guidance is amazing. I listen to music as I travel (of course) and the music fades for instructions and then resumes. I find that I never even have to look at the map! Nokia City Lens is also a very cool tool and works on the 808 (but there is a trick to it). Google maps also work, plus many other map options and accessory tools free from the Ovi store.Vlingo Virtual Assistant is another cool tool for voice recognition tasks. Speak a text or email, call a friend, search the Web: I've composed texts with this when I don't feel like typing.Wifi works flawlessly at home or out and about. Last week I sat outside in front of a car repair shop for 3 hrs. and streamed internet radio using their wifi.FM Transmitter is here as well and I use this in my wife's car as her in-dash stereo does not have aux inputs.Dukto is an app that lets you send files to or from your PC wirelessly and works great.I feel that with this phone I have every function covered for what one should realistically expect from a smartphone. About the only thing not available is a Netflix app. But, really, do I want to watch movies on a 4 inch screen? No, I don't. In fact I rarely use YouTube on my phone.Bottom line: this phone is for the discriminating connoisseur who doesn't feel the need to be part of the herd.Accessories I use:EMPIRE Nokia 808 PureView Poly Skin Case Cover (Clear "V" Shape) [EMPIRE PackagingNokia 02732Q6 HH-23 PureView 808 Tripod Mount - Retail Packaging - BlackJoby GP1-A1EN GorillaPod Flexible Tripod (Grey and Black)SanDisk Ultra 64 GB microSDXC Class 10 UHS-1 Memory Card 30MB/s with Adapter SDSDQUA-064G-U46A

The Nokia Lumia 900 is one of the most amazing pieces of hardware I've ever had the pleasure of using. The build quality on this has to be felt to be appreciated. It feels solid and smooth in your hand and you can really appreciate the craftsmanship that went into the design. The buttons are well placed, the screen, although a little raised from the actual body, is positioned perfectly for maximum view ability.I haven't been this excited about the industrial design of a cellphone since the original iPhone. The screen is absolutely gorgeous. The colors are rich and vibrant and the Clear Black Display is fantastic, even in bright sunlight. The fact that the glass itself is made of Corning's Gorilla Glass means you can save some cash and skip on getting a screen protector for it.If you've never used the new Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS, now is the perfect time to take the leap. Having come from years of using iOS and dabbling a little bit in Android, I have to say that Microsoft has done a fantastic job when it comes to the User Experience.WP7.5 is exquisitely simple, yet has deep, robust features for those who need them. The Metro UI is a blast to use with the pivot features, the Hubs and Live Tiles really providing that "glance and go" sensibility that Microsoft has been targeting. The call quality is supberb, and even though we don't have LTE in my community, I do get very fast data speeds with HSPA+.Cons: (every phone has 'em)- Apps: A lot of people are going to complain that WP7.5 doesn't have as many apps as iOS or Android, but the ones that I personally use are there and easy to access. (Facebook and Twitter are INTEGRATED into the OS experience in a superb way which makes sharing photos, videos and status updates FASTER than any other platform.) And XBOX Live integration means that I can rack up gamerscores and play some popular titles right on the handset.- Camera: This to me was the biggest dissapointment and the reason I didn't give the phone 5 stars. Nokia's had a legendary reputation when it comes to their optics, and even though the 8MP camera takes REALLY good pictures, they don't quite compare to iPhone 4S or even Samsung's Galaxy SII. I haven't played with the HTC Titan II to be able to make a comparison, but you can Google some pics to see the difference. Also, video recording is limited to 720p only, but that is a software limitation and from what I understand, Microsoft is working to implement 1080p recording for Windows Phone 8 Apollo. After seeing what Nokia can do with the PureView 808's 41MP camera, I was kinda hoping this phone would have something closer to that. On a PRO side, the front-facing camera is a full 1.3MP so when using Tango to video chat, you'll be transmitting a clearer picture. PRO TIP: Uninstall the native Tango app that the phone comes with and get the proper one from the Marketplace; you'll be able to make video calls over 4G this way!)- Battery life: Now this is a big MAYBE for me, because I do have a lot of apps that have background features activated, so I'm not sure if they're causing excess drain on the phone. You'll find some reviewers that say that battery life is average for a typical smartphone, but I haven't had such luck with it and I also haven't done some controlled experiments with it either. Your mileage may vary.CONCLUSION: The answer to the reason why you're reading this review: "Should I buy this phone?"YES!!!!!! For $99 at an AT&T store, and whatever crazy price Amazon may be offering PLUS the $100 bill credit you get from Nokia if you buy it before April 21st, it is a FANTASTIC piece of hardware! The key thing is to go to your local AT&T store and ask one of the reps to show you HIS/HER phone so you can feel it in your hand and get an appreciation at how awesome the colors look on the screen.PRO TIP: Make sure you download Nokia Drive and Nokia Maps from the Nokia Collection on the Marketplace app because they are awesome! Nokia Drive gives you offline, turn-by-turn, voice-guided directions and works almost everywhere in the world! (You have to download the maps initially, but you can do that over Wi-Fi and 4G/LTE)A few app recommendations for those new to WP7.5:-- Mehdoh: my favorite dedicated Twitter App-- KIK: For cross-platform messaging (save $$$ on the text message bundle!)-- Baconit: The BEST Reddit browser on ANY smartphone.-- Insider: New ringtones and Wallpapers straight from Microsoft! Plus handy tips!-- Nextgen Reader: Great Google Reader app!-- Pinspiration: for those Pinterest users out there!-- SkyMap Free: Check out if that star is really a planet!-- Weather: Live tile updates for your local weather!

Have always disliked Microsoft and so was looking forward to receiving their popular phablet with considerable trepidation. The phone arrived in a 'cute little box' which I subsequently ripped open to discover an impressive looking mini (or is it micro?) tablet staring at me with its beautiful black screen. Anyways, I removed the back cover - inserted a spare micro sd card ... retrieved my 'three' SIM card from the now relegated iPhone 5 and slotted it in via an adapter and hey presto the phone booted up nicely.

The 1320 is a slick easy to pocket phablet that will please your pocket and please your wallet. The battery life is nothing short of amazing. It's all I use now. The iphone 5 has been sold and done with. Coming from an iPhone, your new friends will be One note, Evernote, Audio recorder Pro, Google search (for transport- works a treat) and Office.

The screen is lovely giving its specs- it normalises according to the external lighting when you're outside so you can read clearly in bright sunlight unlike the iPhone. This phablet is smart. Audio is really clear and sounds like you're listening with a Dolby like sound quality during phone calls. While it's true that the camera quality is what you'll expect of a 5 mp phone cam, it's mechanism is on another level - you simply tap anywhere on the screen to take quick photos in half the time in takes the iPhone cam to start up. There's this thing with bar codes and language translation right in the same area. You simply take a photo of,say, a German language leaflet and this phone will translate it instantly on the same screen space - very practical and useful in today's world.

I feel this phone is worth it's weight in phablet gold. It's affordable, pocketable, fast, remains on for up to four days,is excellent on the email front, has superior 4G thingamajig and is just very practical business phone.

Super size phone. 6" screen. Exactly what I wanted. Very easy to use. It takes micro sim cards and micro sd cards. Purchased an 32gb micro sd card and once installed it shows 30gb empty space. To place the sim in the phone, you simply peel away the back of the phone from around the sides of the screen. Once off you will see an totally sealed unit. The battery is even sealed inside. All you can access are 2 small slots. The bottom one is for micro sd memory cards, the top one is for the micro sim. When I say top and bottom one, I mean that one is inserted and stacked inside the phone on top of each other. The case is then pushed back on and the phone is ready. The software has data transfer tile. Tap the tile and your new phone will connect to the Bluetooth of your old phone and all contacts etc can be transferred quickly. If you wear trousers with large pockets, this phone will still not fit fully in the pocket. Do not regret buying this phone. I love it!

The photo and video quality capability given by this phone is so awesome! I love taking pictures whether they be of family, events, landscapes, vacations or just about anytime I want to preserve a memory for myself or anyone else. I can't tell you how much I appreciate having that ability come from my phone! Now I have a DSLR camera that I use for "planned" events usually based around my kids; recitals, sports, etc. For these types of events I have my camera bag with me and I can swap out my lenses, I am after the best possible photos I can take. Well sometimes your at a restaurant, at work, at a party or any other of a million places that you could be at any moment and you want to take a picture. Sure most cameraphones can capture the moment, but sometimes its just not capable of a decent picture in certain situations. You become aware of these situations after you try and take a photo and it doesn't come out. So now you decide to carry a point and shoot camera, or if you are a true geek you take the dslr, when you know that your phone isn't going to be good enough. Your friends will probably ask you, "Are you happy to see me or is that a DSLR in your pants?".In steps the Nokia 808. The powerful xenon flash makes sure your photos subjects are lit up if you need them to be. You can also manually adjust settings to allow more light in the photo by increasing the exposure length, meaning flash might not even be needed. If you have been researching this phone then you already know the technology used in the camera on this phone is possibly going to change the way future high end cameraphones, and probably cameras in general, are designed.Ok so the Symbian operating system is not as cool as the other mobile os that are out there. You won't get the cool games that are coming out. You wont have Instagram integrated to share all the pictures of your cats with friends. But here are some things I have come to appreciate from this phone and past symbian based phones:1. FM Radio, sometimes I don't want to mess with freakin playlists or downloading music or chewing up data or all that other crap involved with listening to music. Just plug in my headphones and turn on the radio!2. FM Transmitter, contradicting what I said in point 1, sometimes I get tired of hearing the radio in the vehicles that I drive at work. It's nice to load up Spotify and be able to play it over the vehicles radio. This also works for the sound from any videos you are watching.3. The intergrated email has worked fine for both my personal email and work email account.4. Situations app, I love this app. I can program it to change how my phone acts at certain times of the day. For instance it automatically switches my phone to silent at the set time I am usually going to bed. It changes my ringtones during the time I am at work, and changes them back when I'm punched out.5. Standby screen, silly but I like being able to look at my phone and seeing the time. The standby screen shows the time, simple. I don't need to have any other clock on my nightstand because of my phone.6. Nokia Maps, they just work. I have used the navigation features of these phones many times to find things around town, also for an 2000+ mile trip.I would recommend this phone to certain people because I know its not for everybody. If you are the type that takes pics with your phone and the pics stay on the phone, this phone is probably not for you. I've had this phone a couple days now and I really love it. I've been using the iPhone 4 for the last nine months after abandoning Nokia's last attempts, the E7 and E6. Now Nokia returns with double the processor and double the Ram, and a camera that bests every other phone out there. I went in with low expectations and have been very pleasantly surprised. So here are all the features as they value to me:The Screen: I was weary about this because the iPhone has an extremely high pixel density, so I had concerns that the low resolution of this phone would make my eyes sore. Well, first of all the AMOLED screen is brilliant. The brightest I've ever seen and the colors really pop. Visibility in direct sunlight is completely unhindered. When navigating the homescreens I don't notice the low pixel count at all. Only when opening web pages is it noticeable, but only when viewing pages in full screen. Double tap the part youy want to read and it's fine. So that was my first concern laid to rest. The build: Not as chunky or ugly as media reports led me to believe. I actually really like the design and while the phone is indeed heavy, it's not at all too big. I have the white and black model, and got a compliment that it looks like "sci-fi".Email: I was concerned that email would be shoddy. Happy to report that push email is working fine and on the large 4 inch screen messages are easy to read and displayed correctly in HTMKL.Web Browser: Another concern was the stock browser. It's still slow. I've had problems in the past with Opera but those problems seem to have been fixed. Opera Mobile (not mini) renders pages correctly and fast. Again, the big screen is helpful here.Youtube: I do my fair share of Youtube watching but remembered how poor the stock app was on my E7. Was surprised to find out that Gravity plays Youtube videos, not only in a better UI but the videos actually play in very high quality (not sure if HD but it sure looks close).Widgets: Love allt he widgets, which I've had almost zero problems with. Email, Facebook, Twitter, news, location services - all have worked without crashing and update regularly. I remember widgets on the E7 constantly crashing and not updating. Glad to say that's no longer an issue.Audio/Music: I'm surprised I don't hear more people talk about the amazing quality of audio on Nokia devices. It far surpasses my iPhone, not only wired, but especially via bluetooth headphones. Now the 808 comes with Dolby Surround and it's even better. The music widget is very useful as well, and I was, again, surprised to see that this phone came with Nokia music installed. WHile currently the US isn't supported it only took a second to tell the app that I'm in the UK and get access to music on the go. Being an iTunes devotee I can comfortably move on knowing I can download music when I want. The camera: This is an awesome camera, and I don't have to tell you that. What I really like about it are the Xenon flash which is great for night time photos, the lossless zoom, and Rich recording. Combine those three things with the high quality camera and you've got pictures and video that no other phone can duplicate.Maps: This is just the icing on the cake. So great to have voice guided navigation. Points of interest are lacking however. The keyboard: My one strike against this phone. This is pretty bad, but luckily a new keyboard is coming in the next update. This is an awesome device. Hopefully the price drops soon enough for more people to get onboard. It really does everything it should so there's nothing I can think of that I miss from Android/iOS (well maybe video calling)... It's worth knowing that I am typically hard on Nokia. One thing I've never done is defended their poor decisions of the past. The reason I like this phone so much is they've finally listened to a lot of complaints of the past and acted on them. My main appreciation for this device is that for the first time in a long time Nokia delivers on their promises and made a phone that works in all aspects(even if some of it is due to third parties like Gravity and Opera).

I'm a bit of a phone geek. I admit it, I accept it. It's who I am. So the lumia 1320 is an anomaly. On paper and on screen she is a compromise bridesmaid. How can you get by with 5mp photos? Fewer than 250 ppi? Only dual core?
I bought this phone based upon the fact that I'd experimented with a Lumia 620 previously. I liked the ecosystem, and the lack of lag. Androd is great on paper, but as android spec demands increase, so phones slow down. I wanted a big screen, so I went for the 1320. It's amazing. The screen is 720p I believe. 240ppi is fine. You won't notice pixilation unless you take out the magnifying glass. The camera is 5MP, which is ok unless you want to blow up to A3 size or above. Big secret....video is 1080p at 30 fps, so great, smooth vids. This is a surprisingly underrated phone. It's Friday night and I last unplugged it Thursday at 6am, so battery is good, I have 15% left, and it's the battery's 2nd cycle so it will improve further. Great phone. Buy it!

I don't want to rave about the camera, as it takes great pictures and has been sufficiently ratified by others. I have used this phone for over a month now. Here are some details that might make a difference to your purchase decision, in case you are tempted and wondering -Navigation and UI -- Sensitivity and response in comparable to iphone 4, though for some apps you can see the hourglass for few seconds at launch.- Love the inbuilt gadgets and apps like Photo Wall, Social and offline maps. Nokia Street View can be installed (google for it).- This display resolution was not meant for more than 3.5 inch screens, text does appear to be mildly grainy in this 4 inch screen.- Please update font to "Nokia Pure Font" using Font Zoomer app, as it makes the whole experience better.App store -Has been more than adequate for me, has most of the top apps and tools. I like the fact that you can theme out of the box.If you are in India most apps are very cheap as they sell at prices at 1/10 of a $. Nokia store allows you to add app purchases to your phone bill.Kindle - Unfortunately Kindle does not have an app for Symbian. Other e-readers are available like Ionic which is pretty good.Has MS Office pre-installed!!.Music Store -In India, Nokia gives you 1 year of unlimited music downloads. That itself will pay for the cost of the phone by the time I am done in the next 10 months.Camera -In spite of this phone producing some fantastic entry SLR quality pictures, there are some items to take note of -- It does not have optical image stabilization.- When taking indoor picture with flash in default mode, there is a light white haze on the picture. Though it looks great on the phone, when you view it on the PC it does not look impressive. A quick auto-correct is needed using Picasa (or manually turn off flash for every use).- Red eye has been a regular problem when taking pictures indoors.- Please upgrade to SP2 firmware to get the best out of the camera and gallery.- Photo Editing options are inbuilt and very good.Hardware and Features -- The guys at AllAboutSymbian feel this is the best Nokia smart phone to date as it leaves nothing behind in hardware and software features.- I have not missed my iphone 4 anytime in this department.- It has full multi tasking, but memory could have been more as gallery zoom refresh clarity is affected when multiple apps are open.Handling -It feels bulky and top heavy with a basic case, which you would surely need to protect the lens. This will be bothering if you like light weight phones and don't use heavy full protection cases.Would I buy this phone again? -The surprising answer is no, though I love what it offers me as of today. With all vendors going the megapixel way, the detailed photos this phone produces should be possible in the next generation Windows Phones, iphones or Galaxies in 2013-14. The additional bulk and lack of growth for this products operating system should keep you away. If you are someone who buys a new phone every 2 years anyway, go for it by all means. I bought it because I have young kids, and I felt important moments were being missed; I feel justified with some of the good stuff we have captured already in that regard, since the shutter response of the camera is instant and amazing.

Phone arrived ahead of time. The phone is absolutely amazing. I also own a Nokia Lumia 820 as well and updated both to Lumia Denim, otherwise Windows Phone 8.1 update and as a result this phone works even better than it did before. The screen size is incredible. I was recently playing GT Racing 2 on my phone as opposed to my android tablet and I have to say the phone is a lot easier to hold than a 7 inch tablet. Also its a lot faster and the graphics and gameplay are smoother. Everything about this phone is amazing to the extent my wife has bought one for herself.

And this is not meant to be a criticism of Iphone. Lumia 900 is that good. Having been an IPhone fanatic for the past 2.5 years, I am finally out of its magic spell. Hallelujah. This phone is devoid of the million apps you never use but hope to use one day. It has only the precious cores that you use over and over at FASTEST ACCESS points. Talking of speed, comparing this phone's 4G LTE with Iphone's 3G is like comparing an F16 to an F4 Phantom. Until Iphone comes up with 4G LTE capability, they really cannot be compared in terms of speed. ("Iphone 4" or "Iphone 4S" may be deceptive since it is only a 3G phone, all the more confusing since its previous versions, 3G and 3GS, were named after network standards.) This phone makes web surfing eminently enjoyable. Video streaming speed is phenomenal -- no buffering issue whatsoever! I watched the baseball and news clips without a pause while walking on the street, which is something that does not happen always even with my slow home wifi! These were unthinkable feats with my previous Iphone 4S.Plus I can painlessly transfer all my Windows office files and view them while commuting. I have a long commute, which makes me comment on this phone's amazing battery capacity. It just goes on and on. You can actually leave home without taking a charger to your office, use it full day (including browsing and streaming) without worrying about the juice running out. How comforting and refreshing. Plus, needless to say, there is no need for encoding all your movies to be compatible with Apple regime. And this phone is a beauty to behold -- design-wise, I even think it fits Steve's vision better than the current Iphone. Last but most importantly, this phone's voice quality is stunning (ie no hauling, no echoing, but just crystal clear voice) -- unfortunately the same could not be said of my Iphone 4S.To be sure, I miss a few nice games and apps that were on my Iphone. (Yes, Steve was a genius.) But I have my Ipad and Ipod for those. I do not need to carry them all on my phone at the same time and it's not like saying good-bye to the Apple ecosystem with all my purchased contents. To my surprise, I found parting with my Iphone was no heart-breaking event. The priorities simply could not be ignored: best possible phone first, fastest possible browser second and other nice things third. It just took a bit of courage to try something new and I am so glad I did just that. Buying a phone is not like marrying someone. All in all, I am one happy consumer with a big smile on my face every time I use my phone. Every morning I wake up and open my eyes, I reach for my phone next to my pillow. Lumia 900 finally nailed everything I wanted in a phone. I have not been this passionate about a product since... well my first Iphone, Iphone 3GS. Buy this and you will not regret, at this price or at any other offered by the competition.(UPDATE) I just read on the news that because of some software glitch (which I am not even aware of by the way), I am offered a $100 AUTOMATIC reduction on my phone bill (with no need to send coupons etc) with either free exchange or free fix. Unbelievable. When was the last time I received this level of customer care from ANY company? Not even Apple -- I only remember Steve's offering a free lesson on how to hold an Iphone correctly when customers complained of its antenna problem. Now, this is a preemptive customer care at its best, full of good will. Thank you, Nokia, and I hope all other phone companies follow your practice.(UPDATE2) I just downloaded and installed the software update offered by Nokia. I have not noticed any difference since I had not found any symptom in the first place but I did it anyway and will take the $100 credit. Nokia did this a few days sooner than the date it promised to do by (April 16). I think it set the bar a notch higher for all other companies, especially Apple with its cash to spare, in times when customers are in sore need of bargains and discounts. When Apple launches its Iphone 5, it is bound to have some glitches and I would be truly interested in seeing how Apple handles the situation. For now, Nokia has won my heart.

Downside is the Nokia headphones that come with it. They are rubbish. Apart from that the phone is a gem.

I bought first phone from Amazon (Ross Cellular) but it was a big disappointment :( I am not even sure if the phone was new, used, or a refurbished. The second one from ebay turned out to be stolen. The third one "technically" works but windows operating system is a big headache :( I should have taken 2 previous failed attempts as a sign and give up on this phone, but noooooo ... I had to get it only to realize that windows operating system is a big failure. Now the phone review :I have been using nokia since the invention of cell phones. I was a big nokia fan until I got the Lumia 900 with Windows OS :( The phone has mediocre specs (1.4GHz single core processor with 512MB RAM, short battery life, etc) but for this much money you can get a phone with better specs (i.e. nexus 4) and it operates flawlessly!!!!what is good about it? Probably the looks but that is pretty much it ...What is bad about it? 1- Windows operating system and Bing are the most pathetic operating system and the search engine I have ever used!!! Initially I was happy to get this phone now every time I use it I am disgusted by the stupidity of Bing!!!! Internet explorer on the phone works, so obviously the phone is receiving the data, but the phone does not even connect to Bing and anything related with Bing!!!! It does not connect to Maps!!! It dost not connect to Zune!!! It does not connect to application depot!!! It is a pretty paperweight at this point. I did some search and found that this was a common problem with windows phones. I am so angry!!!! Nothing works on this p.o.s!!! Updates dont fix anything!!! Nokia should have stayed with their simple yet versatile symbian OS and give microsoft the "bird"!!!! 2- bad battery life!!! with no apps running the battery barely lasts 1 day :( Did I get a defective phone or everyone else experiencing the same issue? 3- in order to by-pass failed bing garbage I try to install google maps or other applications that used to work on Symbian OS but I cant!!! I tried to install google chrome but I cant!!!! None of those apps work on windows phone!!! 4- you can not replace the battery! Nokia Engineers!!! what were you thinking??? if you are not going to put a big enough battery, then make it easily replaceable at least. 5- I hate micro usb ports!!! I have big monkey hands and I am afraid I will break the charger inside the port while trying to connect it :( 6- no micro sd card slot? Sure it has a lot of space, but it would not hurt to have more memory ...If the phone worked flawlessly out of the box I would give 3-4 stars just because there are other phones out there a little more or less expensive with much better specs. However, due to windows p.o.s operating system this "not-so-smart" phone works simply as a $10 "phone" you get from walmart. If you want a good phone, get the nexus 4 from google. It has a quad core processor (4 times faster), 2GB RAM (4 times more memory), better screen resolution, bigger battery (twice more talk time) etc. It is better every way!!! and costs only $350 plus tax and shipping ... Oh! It is also factory unlocked! ATT cant remotely lock your phone again and again ... I wish I could return this phone :( It was a big disappointment ... I am so upset about windows operating system and nokia. I will not buy nokia ever again. I am so angry I am even thinking about getting rid of all the windows computers at home too :(

For starters, I've been with Windows Phone since shortly after its release; it was a natural progression from the oft-mocked but secretly delightful Zune platform (RIP). It has been a journey not without its bumps. Windows Phone has had to claw its way into the smartphone market, and its continued existence is due purely to Microsoft's doggedness. It's not as if WP has nothing new to offer. It's a simple market fact that people tend to be happy with only two to three options in any category, especially in the technology marketplace. Witness the longtime twosome of Windows vs. Mac operating systems, with Linux running a distant third. There are plenty of other examples.Windows Phone has finally wrestled its way into the scuffle, though, and it's a very good thing. It offers an extremely stable operating environment, surprisingly good performance even on mid-grade hardware which would choke an Android phone, integration into the fuller Microsoft user experience, such as Xbox Live, Office, and Zune Pass ($10 a month for unlimited streaming and downloading music, cheap enough to never feel the urge to pirate), and a user interface that is just fun and beautiful, and oh-so refreshing when compared to Apple and Android UIs.And now, This great phone OS (operating system) finally (it cannot be stressed enough, FINALLY!) has a great piece of hardware to run on, something which expresses the same aesthetic and value system that the OS does. The phone is, first off, a terrific piece of engineering, a beautiful, industrial block with rounded sides which make it a joy to hold and use, with a stunning OLED screen which is easy to see even in bright daylight. Every aspect of the hardware is as good as you'd expect classic Nokia to put out. The phone's slimness and light weight, combined with the grippy matte finish, makes it as effortless in the physical space as the WP platform makes controlling and navigating the phone.I mentioned the bumpy road to WP excellence; primarily it has been the lack of very good hardware. Previously I've been using an LG Quantum, a well-made phone but one which understood nothing, so to speak, of the Windows Phone way. None of the 1st-generation phones on offer for WP met its needs for a champion, and so far I believe Nokia is the only one to understand the OS, which is fine considering Nokia has pledged its whole cause to Microsoft. Together, they're performing an almost phoenix-like rise from the ashes, though it remains to be seen how far upwards they will be able to go. At this point in time, however, they have the perfect phone and OS for me.There are some rocks remaining in the road: apps still haven't met the availability of Android and iPhone. This is mostly the fault of app developers, but it is actually a complex issue. Accelerating the development of WP apps takes Microsoft's evangelizing, user adoption, market acceptance, and plain old time. That is why people looking for Draw Something won't be able to find it (yet) on WP, and if your life revolves around installing cutting-edge, popular apps as soon as they've entered the public consciousness, you might be disappointed, for awhile. But WP doesn't get enough credit for what it does have, the aforementioned Microsoft product integration, which will only improve with the release of Windows 8, which takes numerous design principles straight from Windows Phone, and wants to augment the phone experience in some interesting ways.In summation, I'd consider this to be the emergence of the first Windows Phone champion, the "iPhone" of Windows Phones. In fact, Nokia may well become the only WP manufacturer that really takes the limelight, and that's perfectly okay with me, while other companies will still offer another take on the WP for those who don't find Nokia's offerings to suit their needs. Essentially, we might see WP embrace the best of both iPhone and Android, with the seamless user experience of the former combined with the choice of the latter. Such can only be a good thing, and positions them to be a worthy "third" in a battle that has, until now, been a two-player game.

The following review is from my husband(I bought it as a big present for him)After owning Nokia 808 for over 30 days I could say that I am willing to keep it for another couple years. By the way, I have Iphone 4S and other android devices too. If you still on the edge of thinking about whether or not to use this phone as your primary phone. Just ask yourself the simple question "Have you ever felt lost to the moments when you saw something that is totally worthwhile and you just happen to forgot to bring your camera?" The results of the pictures just simply unbeatable. You can check the pictures on flickr, they are all over the place these days. Now I can sell my point and shoot canon ELPH 100. Oh forgot this "phone" also works as a Garmin GPS. Now I can sell my Garmin nuvi 3790. By the way, this "phone" also works as a FM transmitter. So I am selling my Iphone 4S Belkin FM transmitter too. The music quality of this "Phone" (Dolby Digital Plus), no kidding I sold my Zune HD already. The Dolby function on music difference is night and day (makes my klipsch x10 and Monster Turbine came to life). So the phone weight 169 g and I just throw away stuffs that weight about 1000 g in total from my back pack.Exchange mailbox, gmail, hotmail, and other mailbox work flawlessly. I make gmail my exchange mailbox so the gmail calendar sync automatically without any further setting. Got it connect to my home network which is an Asus RT-N10 flash with ddwrt, never drop once. Connect to enterprise network without any problem too.I am an honest hard working guy who doesn't like to spend my precious free time on mobile gaming. So not many games on this "Phone", not even a problem for me. Moreover, I can always find the utility software that I need. Quick office and Microsoft office mobile are pre-installed, so I am able to open all kinds of office documents all the way from word file to PDF and anything in between. Even office Onenote is pre installed.I have seen other reviews written by other wonderful reviewers. So in order to make myself a little bit more contributing to this awesome "phone". Let me get a little bit deeper into the connectivity function of this device. Yes, we know it have HDMI and DLNA and they worked perfectly. I did other experiments such as connect it to xbox usb and tend to play the pictures ,video, and music directly from xbox. Guess what? it works perfectly too. Just switch the usb connection on the phone to "Mass storage mode" or "Media transfer". I can now view my pictures and watch videos directly on my projector/HDTV which xbox connected to.About the stability of the phone and system. It did crash three time on first couple days, I was very nervous at that time. The reason about the crash, I would say because third party apps. Most of the third party software are full of bugs and keep running in background even you intend to close the program. I uninstalled these third party apps, even the anti virus apps that came with the phone. Currently, I only trust the apps from Nokia recommendation and some apps that have really reliable reviews. I have not encounter another crash ever since.Did I mention it is unlock "Phone" as a real phone should be, so AT&T, Tmobile, and XXOO telecom I don't care, all of them work. I do frequent international travel and that solves my problem. Overall, I would say this "phone" is a phone with an unique style, buy it if you are the kind of person who really knows what you want (ex. want great pictures which can last forever).

Listen, I am reading some of these reviews on different online sites and I can't believe how ignorant some people want to sound. Statements like this phone sucks with absolutely no explaination is just plain anti-Nokia/Windows Mobile bashers venting with a smile. If these people had actually used the phone and were able to give you a true review of the device it would likely be a 4 out of 5 STARS or better in my opinion.I mean lets see, I have had the phones for almost 1 week and there is obviously a learning curve for me as you will see below because I had no prior Win Mobile IOS experience. The learning curve was not that tedious and I can tell you that on day 1, I was fidling around a little longer than I wanted to trying to text or make calls from my phone list but once I got all my contacts transfered and placed as I wanted, and got used to the voice commands, I am one happy camper.Got my 2009 Chevrolet Silverado pickup all set up with bluetooth and mount accessories as well as the 3.5mm male to male plugged into my stereo and within a week I am now wondering how I got by without all these luxuries...lol.SOME REVIEW POINTS:Phone is FAST....NO LAG...ie...FAAAAAAAAAAAST. (FACT!)Phone is great size and weight. (Personal Opinion)Phone Screen is vivid and sharp. The touch while typing is very responsive. The keyboard and texting ability is better than any phone I have ever used. (Personal Opinion)Phone is user friendly. (Personal Opinion)Win. Mobile 7.5 OS is great. (Personal Opinion)Batt. life is OK and could be better (Use Batt Saver Setting). (Personal Opinion)No Flash Video support for Win Mobile 7.5. sucks. I mean come on what is the deal it's Windows....hello. Definitely not a deal breaker for me just a little inconvenient as most sites I use it on have apps that work for the phone just like Apple iPhone has to have and hopefully Win Mobile 8 will have the support. (Personal Opinion)Zune Music Pass for $99.00 a year and my in car stereo linked is...can I say it...yes....a Pandora killer!!! Zune Music Pass is amazing and I am loving it. (Personal Opinion)XBox Live for gaming....GREAT...nuff said! (FACT!)Nokia Apps including Nokia Drive means bye bye Garmin. This app is sooo great and it is FREE!!! Used it all last weekend in Detroit Suburbs and it worked flawlessly. (Personal Opinion)I have used a few smartphones/tablets, Samsung Epic (android) and the Apple 3gs (IOS) and Motorola Xoom wifi (android) and they had some good features and some I absolutely hated. I do not like clutter or searching redundantly for apps/options and the Nokia Lumia 900 just absolutely WORKS for me! I love the voice command controls and how freaking amazing the voice recognition software works. This is my first smartphone with Windows Mobile OS and I can say I am a fan of it now and am eagerly anticipating the release of 8 and hope it is slated for release via update to the Nokia Lumia 900.I have the black one and my wife has the white one and they look awesome....kind of wish I had got the white one also it looks sweet.Oh and BTW, thank-you to NOKIA for stepping up to the plate with the data issue that was quickly addressed and updated via software fix. I mean, I never saw the problem because there is no LTE available where I live yet (coming in 2013 ;-))and I bought the phones after all the issues were resolved and still get the $100.00 credit on EACH phone as well as having got the $100.00 in accessories for each phone from AT&T. All that and $99.00 for each phone. So take it as you see it but this is my 2 cents and I say the phone rocks and I am a fan.EDIT: Forgot to mention the cameras. All good, I use canon cameras home and work and I can tell you that if you want a Really Great picture from this camera all you have to do is make some setting adjustments for ISO and light but I have found that the camera works very well in auto settings just able to take better photos with ISO and light adjustments. Camera is GREAT!

First off, this is the first smartphone I have ever owned so I can't compare my experience with other phone OS's.Quick Bullets:Negatives/Improvement Needed - Hardware:- Phone rattles around the camera lens when vibrating, slight annoyance but not too big of a deal.- Metal on back of camera scratches very easily- Feels like if it were less thick by 1mm it would be a lot sleekerNegatives/Improvement Needed - OS:- Can't check/receive Facebook messages if you're chat status is set to Offline (must go in to the facebook app)- Games can lag a bit when advertisements load (probably more of an app issue than phone issue)- Wish there was a native PDF reader as Adobe's app is not smooth/fast- Doesn't have every app under the sun but its getting better and fast- When searching Bing images, I really want to be able to swipe to the next image but you have to go back and tap the next one- Must use Zune software for media management, I wish my computer would just see the phone as a storage device.Positives Hardware:- Large and vibrant screen, I have no issues with the resolution at all.- Dedicated camera button that can be used even when the phone is locked- Solid camera, wont blow you away but gets the job done. Get to know the different camera settings and you will get very good results- Solidly built [...]- Proximity sensor: the phone auto shuts off the screen when the phone is near your ear.Positives OS:- Social network integration with everything--- MESSAGING HUB: set facebook chat status. CALENDAR HUB: see facebook events (birthdays included) and every detail about those events (details, wall, guests attending). PEOPLE HUB: consolidates facebook, twitter, linkedIn, and windows live for every contact automatically. PICTURE HUB: Access pictures across social networks side by side with pictures you have saved on your phone.- Live Tiles--- PEOPLE: You can assign people to different groups and pin that group to as a live tile. Just a quick glance at the screen and I know if there is any new news with my friends accross ALL social networks. CALENDAR: Displays next meeting/appointment. NEWS/WEATHER: I decided what apps I use almost solely on how good the live tile is at displaying information I want.- Skydrive Integration: Auto-save pictures and documents to the cloud for backup.- Smooth OS, rarely lags, very intuitive.- The phone is so people-centric that I don't even need to use the Phone Hub which brings up previous calls, dial-pad, etc. I just have the people I call most pinned to the start screen.- Silent updates: I have been following Windows Phone news closely since my purchase and updates are made to the OS without user intervention.- Local searches: Here is something I can compare with other phone OS's. Want to find information about a business? Windows phone is very efficient at it, just hit search and enter the business name. Bing will search based on your location and give you an address, phone, directions, and reviews in about 3-4 taps. None of my friends iPhones/Androids can do that. Conclusion:I have had the phone for about a month and I don't think any other phone could make me happier. The pros blow the cons out of the water for me and I can't wait to see what is in store when Windows Phone 8 comes out. The Nokia has the best design of any of the Windows Phones and feels the most durable. The OS is smooth and you DON'T need an app for everything which is very nice.At this point in the OS game for both mobile and desktops, it seems to be all about preference. Nothing is superior to anything else, its just what you want. If you want to tweak every little thing with your phone, get Android. If you want every app that exists and to use an app for everything, get an iPhone. If you want an efficient OS with social integration, get a Windows Phone.

I wanted to like it, I really did. I just purchased a new Win8 computer and figured I would upgrade my phone to the Lumia 920 in the spirit of homogeneity. Let me tell you that doing so was a HORRIBLE idea - where to start.Weight - this brick, I mean phone, tips the scales at a cool 185 grams, compared to the 133 gram Galaxy S3 or 140 gram iPhone 4S. When asked why it weighed so much, the salesman told me it was because the phone is made from the same composite as is astronaut helmets. Nice - I can now sleep better knowing that if the Mayans are right, at least my Lumia 920 is prepared for its journey through the cosmos. To all my skinny jean wearing hipsters, you and this phone simply cannot be - the sheer size and mass of it make it a nightmare to carry in regular sized pants, I can't even imagine the kind of dances you'll do to get the Lumia in and out of your jeggings pockets. This brick could be a safety hazard if one of these crazy youths tries to rob me on his way to Hot Topic, though my Lumia could possibly double as a shield, or even a weapon if I decided to shotput at my assailant.Onto the UI - wow, anyone who says the apps are incredible must be kidding. Moving past the fact that google refuses to create apps for the Win8 OS, none of the apps that are built for this phone are designed by their actual developers. Facebook is a Microsoft app, Whatsapp doesn't even exist, the Pandora app is a blog about the music on Pandora - sweet, nothing satiates my hunger for The Jonas Brothers or Biggie Smalls like the words of Joe and Jane Smith as they opine on hottest 1950's Christmas album. What few games they do have, i.e. angry birds, looks like they have been shrunk down from a tv screen onto my phone. The aspect ratio is atrocious, not to mention that for me to download anything, I have to use my Hotmail account that I opened and retired when I was in fifth grade - which may be a real selling point for the hipsters as eclectic/old school schwag is all the rage these days.As per the screen size ... the phone may be huge but a good portion of it is cannibalized by the bezel , again probably some brilliant innovation necessary to make the phone more functional as I use it to fend off attacks but not when I want to compose documents in MS office, which is a function I will NEVER use on my phone. But our friends at Nokia were smart enough to include a wireless charger, this was a HUGE plus, I find that plugging my phone into the wall while I sleep at night is cumbersome AND tedious. Corded phones chargers are so 2010 - what are we still using the rotary phones here? Think of all the extra things I can do now that I don't have to plug my brick into the wall! At about 6 hours of battery life, I know that whatever charging device I get is going to get plenty of love.So that's it, this phone is horrible. Anyone who says otherwise is either crazy, or is finally making the upgrade from their Razor flip phone. Keep up the good work Nokia, you've successfully kept old school by giving us those old school features we expected in 2005.

This phone is great! It's the best phone I've ever owned. I have been a dedicated high end Android user, but I found this phone to be a much more satisfying experience than either the iPhone or the Android phones. I want an OS that will meet my current needs and have a great user interface with a good amount of apps available for me to manage my daily mobile cell phone use, and not have to make expensive phone upgrades all the time. The Nokia Lumia 900 is a very well constructed phone. The aesthetics are pleasing, it's modern and function goes well beyond my expectations. It operates very fast and smooth even though it has a single core processor and only 512MB on RAM. If you are not aware of these specs, you might think it has a multi-core processor and more RAM on board. Nokia has come up with a phone that is both pleasing in design and very efficient when it comes to performance. The screen is bright with beautiful color saturated screen, and seems to have less glare outside when it's sunny. I can actually read the screen in such conditions. This is a big plus for me! It has 16GB of ROM, which is plenty by itself, but pared with the 7GB of frees cloud storage, it's more than enough for me. I really don't know what the fuss is about concerning the number of apps available for Windows Phones. Unless you are some kind of developer or techy person, there are plenty of apps available for this phone (both from MS, Nokia and third party) for the everyday cell phone user, even business user. The game apps seems so much more refined (probably because there are a lot of Xbox games available for this phone) and they run beautifully on this phone. I travel a lot and I'm really looking forward to using this phone on my trips. I have always liked Nokia phones because of the quality build and support. When I started using a smartphone I got away from Nokia phones and started my Android experience. Now that Nokia has chosen to team up with MS to re-enter the smartphone market, I wanted to try their phones again. What a lovely surprise! I'm crazy for the Lumia 900 and look forward to future offerings from Nokia, if and when I get tired of this phone or need to upgrade. I recommend this phone, it's quality at affordable prices. Great design, sturdy, fast and very easy to use, especially if you run Windows 8 on your computer. Try it! You won't be sorry. By it from Amazon, the best place to shop and that's coming from a person that doesn't or ever has worked for them. I forgot to tell you that there is an upgrade of the operating system to 7.8, which is very similar to Windows 8, available for this phone. It's very easy to install, just install Zune on your Windows computer, connect your phone to USB, and it will find the upgrade and instruct you how to install.

Pros:
This phone is the best if your looking for a phablet, it is fast and fluid with the Windows Phone 8 OS. Depending on the use the battery will last longer than an iPhone 5s. You may have issues with it like fitting it in your pocket. The start, back and search button does not light up which isn't an issue unless your using in the dark because it takes a couple of taps to find where the buttons are. The phone is a bit weighty but it feels strong and rugged. The touchscreen is sensitive and the gorilla glass that is on it does feel thick and strong. At first the battery only lasted a day but after 3 or 4 charges I got it lasting up to 48hrs with the same amount of usage on the old iPhone which I had to charge 2 times a day. Since it only has 8GB of memory I do recommend a Micro SD card. Setting up the phone was easy it took me less then 5 mins. The speaker is on the back and is quite loud and a calling conversation is crystal clear. You can just about hold the phone with one hand but when using its difficult to use just one hand and will need to use 2 hands. The 1520 may have 1080p but on the 1320 720p isn't that bad with the price. The camera is basic but would expect that with the price.

I bought my 1st Nokia Lumia 900 in mid-April from Amazon Wireless soon after it came out. I've read the specs, knew what I'll be getting (good and bad) and was excited about the phone. It worked fine for about a month before problems showed up.I took a trip to Canada and turned ON airplane mode - 1st time doing this. After landing, I turned OFF airplane mode and that's where the problem started. Supposedly, there's a bug where if you did this, your battery will drain much faster because all the apps have been turned ON - doesn't matter if you actually used them or not. So, battery drained down to zero in a few hours. Of course, I thought that's odd but I'll just re-charge it. This is where the defect surfaced - it won't charge. It continuously cycles through the Nokia logo screen, then the ATT "Rethink Possible" screen, then a low battery graphic screen and shuts off - only to restart the cycle. It never charges and just cycles through this series of screens when it's plugged in to charge. Soft boot, hard boot, special camera boot (per Nokia's suggestion) - nothing worked.Check it up on the Internet - other folks have had the same problem - you might want to see if you have a defective phone by letting it drain all the way to zero and try charging it. If it charges, good for you. If not, you'll see what I'm talking about.Anyway... by then, Amazon's guarantee doesn't apply anymore. After 2 weeks of trying to fix a non-working phone, I was asked by Nokia to return the phone to them. When the phone reached their repair center, they immediately send out a replacement - NOT a new phone, but someone's refurbished phone that they probably fixed up. I didn't mind as much since the Lumia 900 just came out and it can't be much older than my phone. So, after 3 weeks of having a non-working phone with no compensation from Nokia for an AT&T phone/data service that was not used for 3 weeks, I have (hopefully) a working phone.Excited to have a phone again and not depend on using Skype for phone calls via Wi-fi... I attended a few business meetings on my phone. Yes... the next defect then reared its ugly head - the phone will hang up on you without your knowledge. No... this is NOT an AT&T coverage issue as I didn't have this problem with my 1st Nokia phone and I had spend hours talking on the 1st phone with no issues. The 1st time it happened (try not to laugh), I was talking away for about 15-20 minutes reviewing some document before realizing the line had gone dead. By the time, I reconnected, my colleagues had left the meeting - thinking I hung up on them - how embarassing was that? Next day... had another meeting... this time I was a little more alert to make sure the line remained opened. It happened again 10 minutes into the call. But this time, I caught it and was able to dial back in immediately to continue the meeting. Now imagine having a phone that just hangs up on you in the middle of a meeting without any notice or indication. If I loss a call due to a bad connection or coverage, you'll hear a warning alert that your call has been dropped. This phone just drops the call silently and your phone screen is blank. I had to constantly check with my colleagues and look at the phone to check that I was still on the call.So... before you brand me as a MS or Nokia hater, I actually had high hopes for the phone. I do like the phone and the OS. BUT what's most important is a functional phone. Twice now - it wasn't. I shudder to think what defects my 3rd Nokia phone will have.I guess that's the price you pay for wanting the latest and (not so) greatest i.e. you may get a lemon - twice!

It's a lovely phone with great big screen and fab battery life.

I'd give it 5 stars but for some reason it is not possible (as it is with all my other Lumias) to switch off the vibrate in the Windows Navigation bar.

Also the screen is ridiculously bright even on the lowest setting.
