I've played the Wii multiple times at my friend's house and was lucky enough to pick one up this morning, and all I can say is, this is the most, albiet light-hearted, fun you will have with any system of this generation. You've all heard it before: It's affordable, it's innovative, etc. so I won't repeat any of that, but what many people don't touch on is the simple convenience of using a Nintendo product overall. Their support is superb. Compared to the countless scandals with Sony using dishonest viral advertisement, Nintendo gives you just what it promises: interractive fun. The controlers work very well, much better than any similar commercial technology today, and the games are easy to get into and generally age-appropriate. The only downside is the graphics, which, while crisp and ideal for the more light-hearted fun Nintendo offers, can't match the visual power of a 360, PS3, or a PC. It also misses the more "mature" gamers who'd rather save the world guns blazing than roll a monkey around in a ball or play a game of bowling (with incredible realism, by the way). Though the control scheme seems ideal for First-Person Shooters, so far, Red Steel and Farcry have failed to impress, well, nearly anybody, and while Red Steel can be alot of fun, it is nowhere near as intense or innovative as Gears of War. For those of you who like both styles of gameplay, I'd opt for either the 360 in addition to your Wii, or a powerful PC.

Our family loves the Wii! It was everything we were expecting. The kids ages 14, 11, and 10 along with my husband and I enjoy the interactive gaming. I think it is awesome that we can be at home on a cold winters day and everyone is up and moving with the Wii!

My stepson really wanted this and so we got him this for Christmas. This unit is so fun even the grandparents can get involved. We have had so much enjoyment playing different games and sports. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

I haven't owned a game system since the original NES years ago. My reason for not getting any new systems is that the controls have gotten too confusing and difficult to use. Now with the Wii they have made the controls simple again. I must say that I was surprised how well the controls worked as I didn't think they would respond so well. This console has turned out to be a lot of fun for me and my family.
Here are the games that we have been playing:
Wii sports - really shows you what the new controller scheme can do and give you a workout in the process.
Zelda: Twilight Princess - I have always avoided games like this because the controls have been a pain to master (which was shown my my frequent deaths during the course of the game which made me give up). However, the Wii controller finally makes this possible for any average joe to play. It is the longest that I have ever played any sort of adventure game this this in my life and that is saying something. The story is interesting and can take up hours of your life without you even realizing it.
Rayman Raving Rabbids: If you want a fun game that is a challenge but will make you laugh as its silliness than this is the game for you. It makes full use to the new controller and will make you laugh each time one of the bunnies comes running at you screaming. Oh, and having bunny backup dancers is a good time too.
This system is by far the best system that has been released in years. It is by far the most fun I have had playing video games since the late 80s. Wii is worth your time and money.

Wii is simply awesome. It's a whole new experience and almost anyone can get into it and have fun. So far I've bought Wii play and extra nunchuck, but I'm thinking of purchasing more remotes for 4 player fun =)

We are liking our Wii more than I would have ever thought. My 2 and 4 year olds are able to play it and so is their 78 year old Great Grandma. We would highly recommend this console to anyone, at any age.

The wii. The new revoloutionary way to have fun. And it succeeds. The games are amazing spanning from FPS to SURGERY!?! But anyway its a great way to have a great time... with some problems. My only complaints are that if you don't have a wireless internet connenction you have to buy a special wii cable to do so. When I tried to start up the internet on the wii with another cable it started loading and didn't stop. I tried to turn off the wii but it wouldn't go off. 5 minutes later I decided to pull the plug. There were times during my expieriences with Trauma Center where the pointer started acting up. Also, with some of the games I played on the system it does the controls spaz out to the point where a game is uncontrollable. But after I restarted the wii it was going fine again. Now for the good: The wii brings a new, fun style of gaming that doesn't make it the xbox that I had. It also came with wii sports. The amazing thing about wii sports was that it isn't just a demo, its a fairly deep game (compared to a usual beta) with real bowling, golf, baseball,tennis and boxing and mini-games for every sport. Its great that this is free. I think that if you want any system get the wii hands down. Glitches are not a huge problem.

The Wii is a truly amazing system! The controller is very responsive and the whole thing is easy to use and to hook up.
So why not perfect? Well...
Here is "My Wii Adventure".
I put a reso down on a Wii at GameCrazy back a month or so ago, so I knew I was going to get one. I don't have high speed internet at home, so I went out and got a cable modem.
Well, I get the thing home yesterday, spend entirely too long getting my modem hooked up (that's another story, but not a fun one), and was finally ready go to online with my Wii!
That's when I learned that it's wireless only.
And the LAN adapter won't be out until next year.
Nooooooooooooooo!
But I rallied. My ISP doesn't provide wireless access, but eventually I get either get a Wii adapter or buy a wireless thingy for my cable modem, so that's good.
However!
The Wii had one last nasty surprise!
I went to my local Wal-Mart and bought a Classic Controller, having been told by many that it could be used to control GameCube games, and I wanted me a GameCube game! I then went and traded in a stack of DVDs at my local GameStop (I'm not very loyal to my retailers), and...
...
...
... found out the Classic Controller can't be used to play GameCube games on the Wii... *sigh*
So I instead bought a used GameCube controller and I'll have to deal with that. I returned the Classic Controller to Wal-Mart.
Despite those minor errors, and they are REALLY minor, the system is really excellent and I highly recommend it! :D

I love it! I got it recently, at Target. But don't go looking there- when i was there, there were only 5 Wiis left! They even had them at retail price: $[...]! (Yes, the Wii is supposed to be $[...] in America, no more, no less.)
Anyway, the Wii is great! It's a game that really gets you up on your feet, really moving, instead of sitting on the couch all day as previous systems did! It even does more than just play games- it lets you make your own little virtual person (called a Mii), edit photos, check the weather, update on the news, and download games from N64, SNES, NES, and I think some Sega systems, too.
Although, if you buy games for excellent, mind-blowing graphics, don't even look in the Wii's direction. Not that the graphics are bad, but... they aren't great, either. But trust me, if you like playing games on your feet, you probably won't care about graphics that much.
Anyway, the Wii is great! It's a game that really gets you up on your feet, really moving, instead of sitting on the couch all day as previous systems did! The Wii may not be for the hardcore gamer but the ability to play with friends/family make it more than just a videogame system. While $249 is not necessarily cheap, the fun you will have in a few weeks more than makes up for it.

My boys aged 9 and 13 loves this. They also have a playstation 3 and game cube but this wii is what they play the most. It is the best value for the money when it comes to video game consoles and the best thing is it gets the kids up and moving instead of just sitting in front of the tv. It is the best investment I have made for a long time.

I got this for my 3 and 7 year old sons and we all love it. It is easy to play and fun to play sports games that I never enjoyed on other game systems. We have the carnival games too and it is fun too.

I'm certainly not a hardcore gamer and by "killer games" I'm not talking about more Mario/Zelda/Metroid games. I'm looking for the next Wii Sports, though not necessarly a sports game. I've had a Wii for seven months now and Wii Sports is still by far the best game I've played. For example, Smooth Moves certainly utilizes the various motion sensors, but not in a "natural" way. Twighlight Princess is beautiful and complex, but I feel silly moving the the nunchuk left/right to do a spin attack and I wish the angle and movement of Link's sword was much more closely tied to that of the Wiimote. Games like Trauma Center and Cooking Mama seem to make good attempts at really using the capabilities of the Wiimote and nunchuk to provide a "new" gaming experience. I hope there are more to follow.

The Nintendo Wii is a great system, some games have regular graphics, but graphics still better than the ps2 and xbox and gamecube, certain games have graphics equal to the Xbox 360 games like Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda Twillight Princess, this system is like a on and off hd console. Remember In 2008 the nintendo wii will release its true graphical abilties.
The wii could be compared to a Xbox 360 On a Standard 480i tv. Depending on the game even higher!

Another great product by Nintendo, very easy to use. You know these are connected by a tactile and audible click and it's time to Box! The cords are plenty long enough for a 6'4" person to use boxing and not too long for my 9 year old daughter to play with.

This is by far an awesome gaming system - I was never into video games all that much before but this thing gets you up and moving - it gives you an amazing workout while providing a lot of entertainment. I would recommend it to anyone

The wii is so much fun.We had it since the holidays and my family and I are all really in love with it.I think if you get the wii you should definitely get My Sims,Carnival Games and Thrillville. Wii Sports is also very fun too.

Wow is all I can say. I am 30 years old and thought that I grew out of the video game stage until I bought this Wii. I owned the Playstation 2 for about 5 years and only 4 games for it because I thought it was boring to play.
With the Wii, I haven't had this much fun playing video games since I was a kid playing the original NES. Nintendo did what they do better than any other video game company and that was they made their system fun. Nintendo is the king at fun factor and gameplay.
The Wii comes with Wii Sports, which is a blast and easy to play. My wife and I played bowling and tennis until Midnight last night and my wife usually doesn't play video games. I also bought Zelda and this game is amazing with the controls.
The controller is the best I have ever used. It is more comfortable than a regular controller as yours hands can be whereever you want to put them as they are not forced to be in the middle of your body. You also don't have to get to crazy with the controls and almost all of the games you can play sitting down as you normally would.
The Wii also offers the chance to download old games for reasonable price. You can download the original Super Mario Bros. or Zelda and a lot of other great games.
The internal Wifi internet connection works great with my Linksys wireless router too.
All in all, Nintendo hit this one out of the park and the PS3 and Xbox 360 should be worried.

If you guys go to Gamestop. You can buy 2 sets of everything for the same price. I did. I bought the bundle. it came with 2 nunchuks, 2 wii controllers, mario party 8, mario striker game, wii play... Also came with a charge station (batteries included). a Memory Card, They also will ship before x-mas i pre ordered mine oct 29 and recieved it the 13 of november!!! Awesomeness

Want to buy a Wii for you 12 year old daughter this Christmas? You have two choices. Get very lucky, or pay a $300 premium over retail to buy one from the secondary market where greedy individuals buy all available inventory, making sure you don't have a chance--then sell it for a $300 profit. Call it free enterprise if you must. Seems shameful to me though.

Best console made for Nintendo, has everything you need to make a child happy. Not only is it entertaining, it's fun for everyone. It's very hard to get one of this things, but if you can get your hands on one, it's very lucky or big hassle to get it. But though amazon, it's way easier than fighting through the crowd at retail stores.

I've been an avid fan of the PS2, but with the new generation, Sony and Microsoft seemed to focus simply on making their consoles more powerful. Better graphics, etc...
But with the Wii, Nintendo did something different. They innovated and created a new way of gaming. Something that differentiates from the previous generation in ways other than pixel counts and load times.
By now, everyone and their grandmother knows about the new motion sensitive controller. As you wave your controller through 3d space, you guide your on screen self to swing a sword, roll a bowling ball, or suture a wound in surgery. You quickly find yourself immersed in a new experience like no other.
The Wii package includes Wii Sports, a package of 5 small sports games built to show off the Wii capabilities. Tennis, bowling, golf, boxing, and baseball are included, and while simple, these games will keep you and friends entertained for hours as you whale away with your new toy.
A great set of launch games quickly make use of the new controller style. I personally recommend Zelda:Twilight Princess, Trauma Center, and Elebits.
If you are lucky enough to be able to find this system on the shelves, I highly recommend it. As a video game player for the last 20 years, i can safely say that this is one of the shining examples for me.

This was a real find. Bought it just after Thanksgiving when they were very scarce and overpriced. Reasonable price in light of where they ended up before Christmas.

Ok...it is officially Nov.29th, 2007 at 4:34 PM, and all the prices for the Wii are double what they should be...what the hell is up with that? I thought the Wii was supposed to be the most inexpensive, not the most expensive by far? Whoever the people are that are setting these prices are a bunch of jackasses who should go to hell.
