Since buying the WII I have found out that much of my body was not getting the exercise it needed. I have never played tennis and did not understand the game terms(points). Now I play almost everyday and understand the terms. I can tell the difference in my body. I love my WII. Great for your health. There is also a game for eye coordination and memory.

The remote opened a new dimension in game play. Don't be fooled by the saying the Wii is for the casual gamers, girls, or senior citizens. Wii Sport and early games are just a beginning slavo - for people to get used to the new controls. IMHO, Nintendo's strategy is to hook the "casual" gamers first, and then push for the serious gamer later. Given the motion-sensitive Remote and the Nunc, you CAN create very sophisciated games targeted for hardcore gamers. If the strategy work out well, Sony and Microsoft will have to come out with their motion-sensitive controls and follow suit - late in the game. Yes, graphics from PS3 and XBox are stunning, but game-play is/will be the King. Currently Wii may seem to target the "casual/young/senior/female" players. However, the Wii Remote technology CAN be used for games with game-play targeting the hardcore gamers. PS3 and XBox focus too much on technology and visual, Wii focues on human aspects of fun. PS3 and XBox better have a strategy to counter Wii. There will always more people who will go for "Fun" than "Tech."
BTW, my 7 yr-old killed me in boxing. KO in 2nd round. I will switch the Remote I was using with hers. I think the 2nd Remote is somehow biased. Make sure you have a lot of rooms for the kids during play. They almost punched each other's fists.

The Nintendo Wii was made to show off at parties. Let people stand around and watch you act stupid and have lots of fun, but when the parties over and it's just you then you'll find yourself playing VC games and wondering why you bought that part game that never gets played anymore.
There's a couple things to remember about the Wii. It is the only system that actually makes money from each purchase. Nintendo chose to charge an extra $40.00 for the system so that they could make real profit. In doing so, they've made us spend $249.99 on a system that does not do anything in HD, and a system that has far too many DS game ports to the Wii. No 3rd party company is taking the system seriously, so we find ourselves looking at games that quite frankly are terrible.
I hope that 2008 will be the year Nintendo actually shows us some great games for the Wii. Until then I can endorse the system, but only if your not the only person playing it. If you are one of those alone people, then perhaps you should either stick with your computer or spend the $249.99 on a number of nice dates.

My one question here, and it's the reason it got 4 stars from me and not five...is "what is Nintendo thinking??"
A revolutionary gaming console. That has some neat games and the power of Mario/Zelda/etc behind it. AND has the ability to connect you with all the favorites that you played as a kid.
And Nintendo makes barely any. Did they think that it was going to flop?
I went to 10 stores across three states to get this thing. When I finally got it, the salesperson wouldn't tell me how many he had, and fielded 5 phone calls in the 10 minutes I was there, asking if he had any. One person in the store bought one just off of my excitement. He didn't even plan on getting one.
Why, Nintendo, are you putting your salespeople and your gamers through this? I heard that it was only going to get worse with the upcoming holiday season, because Wiis are going to virtually run out in some areas before Christmas. Between Metroid and Mario Galaxy, this thing is going to be impossible to get in major cities.
Awesome console! Great idea! But your marketing team, specifically whoever so limited production, should be canned.

Pros
good games including
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess 100% (rotten tomatoes)
Wario Ware: Smooth Moves 100% (rotten tomatoes)
Trauma Center: Second Opinion 90% (rotten tomatoes)
Madden NFL 07 88% (rotten tomatoes),
innovate controllers, virtual console and Gamecube backwards compatibility making it like having every Nintendo console to date, built in Wi-Fi
Cons
Weak Graphics and Sound, No Hard drive, no HD, 2nd Rate Online Service, sold for a profit (the 360 and the PS3 both sell at a loss)
I really like the Wii, it's fun it's cheap, it's pretty easy to play. It may not be suitable for hardcore gamers, but for gamers that just want to have fun the Wii hits just the spot.

The Wii can be played by anyone. The entire family, dorm, or office will be able to grab a remote and start playing. You really don't even need to buy a game initially as the included Wii Sports will keep you and everyone else bowling, golfing, playing baseball, tennis and boxing for quite a while. But when you do decide to pick up some games, there's a great selection for everyone and big games like Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, and Animal Crossing coming in 2008.

As far as I'm concerned they own the 4 best gaming series in platforming history (3 being exclusive to Nintendo) Mario, Metroid, Resident Evil and Zelda. Unlike movie sequels they continue to improve and evole with the series. Although, it's tough to beat Super Nintendo's "Link to the Past" or "The Ocarina of Time" as 2 of the best games ever made.
The shooters are fine, but I get that stuff on my PC, it's the big 4 that keep me coming back to Nintendo for 15 years and 5 consoles. The thing that a lot of Nintendo detractors point out is the processor speed isn't quite as fast as the Xbox or PS3, but it's the quality of their games that make me very happy.
There's nothing much on the other side that I'm looking forward to or couldn't wait a couple years for a PC port.
