together. We're in our 70s. Definitely fun for all ages. Really easy to
hook up and start using. We have the Wii sports and Wii fit. Anxious to try all of the functions.

My husband had quadruple bypass surgery and suffered from a stroke, so he needs constant activity to stay healthy and keep alert. This game does all that and more!
I get such a cardio workout from the boxing and tennis game that all my anxiety and frustrations completely melt away! This game is perfect for anyone at any age!
LOVE it..Love it...love it!!!!!!!!!!
Wii

As a 36-year-old, I'm not the gaming type. Too technical, too violent, etc. The games on the Wii, at least the ones I have seen, are easy to learn and an unique experience. When you play tennis, it's more like actually playing tennis then a game. When you drive a car, it's like driving a car.
The best thing about this is that it's something me and my son can do together!

We also got the Wii Fit, which I would also recommend as it really does not seem like you're exercising.
A word of caution--do it easy on the Fit the first few times. We got really competitive on the down hill slalom and went back and fort beating each others score. After two hours of this, my abs were SORE the next morning. Same with the hula-hoop!
Lots of family friendly games available and plenty of fun for all ages.

Some people said there weren't enough games to enjoy. There are actually too many for me too choose from. I live in a house with two younger kids. Games that involve heads being blown off or anything like that would not be allowed so I knew buying an Xbox or Ps3 would be stupid. Plus only Nintendo has Mario! I love Mario and Zelda.
If you are still unsure than try one out. Trying is probably the best thing you could do. Going by what someone else says isn't very reliable because everyone wants something different.

I tried to find this locally but they were consistently sold out. Amazon had the console in stock at the same price as the local merchants, plus free shipping. It was a no-brainer to order from Amazon.
We did have an issue earlier tonight. We could not get the console to turn on. It eventually came back on ... but only after I threatened to send it back!

Also, between tennis sets, or golfing, etc., I watch the weather around the globe, and up-to-the-minute news updates, as it is Wi-Fi enabled, and connected to my router.
In one week's time my arms are noticeably regaining a more youthful shape. My legs and tummy, too. It has got me up and moving and playing/feeling like a kid again. Even my mood has been lifted. The best part is you can move at your own pace avoiding injuries, while having a boatload of fun... I purchased another set today (at retail price) from Circuit City for a family with a kid. They are going to love it too!!!! If all that was available was just the Sports Package, this purchase was so well worth it.

Secondly, this game is far from future proof. If you use an HDTV and have any experience with High Definition gaming consoles, you'll be tearing your eyes out at how awful this system looks. Topping out at no more than 480p, it will always appear muddy. Also it lacks those things important to 21st century gaming. A complete lack of online play (while it is becoming more frequent, it still lacks a user friendly interface to access it) also hinders this system and makes it a one trick pony.
The Wii is fun... for a short while. If you can borrow one from a friend and play it for a week or two you'll have your fill. The price tag may pull you in it's direction, but save up some extra money and put it in a PS3. I'd recommend buying a XBOX 360 instead, but with the hardware reliability issues of those things (I've had 4 break on me) I'd be doing you a disservice... but that's for another review all together.

I look at Playstation and even the 360 as cookie cutter systems. They follow a mold and then just try to outbeat one another with better sound and graphics. The Wii, like it's older brother the N64, completely revolutionize gaming.
You have a system here that completely reacts to your own movements. Take for example, the boxing game in the Wii Sports included disc. You can throw a hail of punches as fast as you want, and they still register on screen. You can twist, lean, and move just by mimicking it with the remote.
It's as close as you can get to Virtual Reality without strapping on a headset. I'd bet that we'll even see a Wii headset one of these days too.
But, if anyone is thinking about getting one of these systems... I HIGHLY recommend it. It has the sounds, graphics, and interaction that consoles demand. But, at the same time, it goes above and beyond every other system out there. Not to mention that you even get a little workout in the process.
My only suggestion to someone buying this system is to wait and pick this up online or via a retail store AT retail price. Don't buy into the hype and spend hundreds on this system when the retail is $249.99. I have been waiting for one of these systems for a long time (since release), and I hit up a retail store today to see about ordering one for later pickup... only to see 5 of them sitting on the shelf.
It may take some time to get one of these systems... but it's sure worth it.
