The Wii itself is a great product, but is on the $$$$$$$ high dollar side but since we do not go out much this is our " Night Out "
I have told our friends about it and they are going to come over and play a bowling match...

Santa bought this game to get five members of the family off their rearends and playing sitting video games. It worked to get a disabled member of the family active. It was a great form of physical therapy without it feeling like it.
This game is the ultimate gift if you want a Christmas to remember. I do agree with the fact is for players 7-100.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
My girls (12 and a pair of 7 year olds) received this for Christmas. My 74 year father and 45 year old brother took it over to play golf after being trounced by on of the twins in bowling. The girls have even more fun creating Miis. The Zelda game is too difficult for the twins but the 12 year old can't seem to get enough of it. I love the fact they can "rediscover" their older Game Cube games. Once school began I used the incitement of playing on the Wii to get homework finished in record time. I would buy this again ....

1) Unique gameplay with movement sensitive remotes. Our family room now has a large open area in front of the screen. The couches and chairs have been pushed to the outer parts of the room to allow movement.
1b) Several adult relatives which would not normally touch a game console have enjoyed spending time with Wii Sports
1c) Our neighbor kids keep coming over to play.
2) Effortless setup for WiFi connection
3) The sports game is great for a family fun night. We have often all ran down to the family room and played a quick game.
4) The Mii channel is more fun than you would think. Everyone who visits has to first create their own Mii which always results in everyone in the room having a good laugh.
5) We also have Excite Truck which is a good game, but most of it is single player. One of the modes does allow you to have two people against eachother. It must be a good game since my brother spend 13 hours one day playing it.
6) Many of the controls for the games are simple to figure out but take time to master. Boxing is one example where the exact motion you make and the timing of it takes a while to master.
7) The weather channel is nifty. Obviously you only spend about 2 minutes on it at a time, but it is cool to have.
8) Posting messages (also to/from other Wiis and e-mail accounts) is a neat feature, but we haven't used it other than to try it out.
Here are my gripes:
1) It has crashed perhaps 10 times. It has failed to read the sports disk several times as well which had me concerned for future robustness.
2) I am using a home cinema projector with a 100" screen. The graphics are not that detailed, but once you start playing the game you don't notice. (note: I am only running with the composite video connection since I don't have the adaptor for component video yet)
3) My game-cube games require a game-cube controller, and mine is corded. I don't have a Wii classic controller so I can't say if these work. This is a pain since my room is now set up for wireless controlls and there is no furniture close to the Wii.
4) The WiFi connection seems slow.
5) I downloaded the free internet browser. It is about the least efficient method I have found to browse the internet. Obviously not having a keyboard is the major disadvantage. Secondly the resolution isn't very good so you frequently can't read the small text.
Summary is that it is a great family gaming system with a lot of uniqueness and a good price-point. I am looking forward to more games which really use the remote (Wario Ware, Wii Play, etc). I assume that over time the usage of the remote will also improve with newer games. If you are a hard-core gamer who wants ultra realistic video and immersive graphics you probably won't be impressed with a Wii. Then again, you may be willing to pay the extra money for a PS3.

The processing is always quite clear and impressive, the virtual console is amazing, some of the specialty games ROCK (woot for Super Smash Brothers Brawl!!!!), and it's just a great system. The wii controls are perfect on most games (just be sure to check game reviews BEFORE you buy them, cause some games have really bad controls. I'd recommend using some video game review magazine or website, just to check out that the game you want isn't a stinker.
Everyone complains about the pricing of the system, and its graphics. Well, the system is 250 bucks if you can find it new and not on ebay, and a good quality xbox 360 is still 350 bucks, while a good ps3 is 400 bucks, so actually, no, they are NOT the same price of a next-gen console. As for the graphics: Yes, they aren't anywhere near the ps3 or xbox 360, but I think that video games have gotten to a point where the graphics are good enough to allow just about any game to achieve its full potential, so unless you have a big 50" HD television, the low graphics really won't mess you up, cause they DO look good.
Simple and plain, this is a great buy. Nintendo makes great games, the controls work well, the hardware and system updates are fluid, and I love everything about it. If I really had to complain about anything, it would be the cost of batteries for the wii remote. But hey, that's what rechargeable batteries are for.

If you are going to buy a Wii system the only accessories I would recommend are an extra wireless remote and an extra nunchuk controller. You do get one of each with the system and some games you can use one controller for two or more players. Also if you do not have a wireless modem the USB Nintendo internet connction is easy to set up. Some people say that there are cheaper USB adapters but the Nintendo USB Adapter($34.95) comes with a disc that you put in the computer follow the steps and you are connected to the internet via the Wii. Another advantage of the wireless connection is that Nintendo has made some of its most popular games from Nintendo, NES, Sega, etc for download to the Wii memory. You can buy Wii points either through the Wii connection with a credit card or a Nintendo Wii Points Card from stores that sell game systems. I bought 3000 Wii points for $30 through my Wii connection. I bought Super Mario Bros for 500 points. The first Mario Bros is 500 points, Donkey Kong is 600 points, and more. It's a blast from the past. My son has a Nintendo Game Cube, we can play the games he has in the Wii also.
There are alot of accessories becoming available for the Wii. To set up the system most are not necessary. The system comes with a stand, built in memory, sensor bar for wireless remotes, one wireless remote, one wireless nunchuk, a/v cables, power adapter, 5 game sample disc. Memory cards are only for saving Game Cube game information, Wii game info is stored on the Wii memory.
I usually do not leave detailed reviews like this one, but the game is so much fun to play. Also I had so many questions about what I needed to set it up. I hope this review helps you.

Overall, this is great for families looking for fun with the kids or a cheap system to buy if they can find it. If, however, you are a serious gamer, then this will only be impressive for the first few days. Afterwards, it definitely just isn't that fun. The best game is Super Smash Brothers Brawl and you don't even use the motion sensor in that game. Needless to say, my Wii sits in the corner collecting dust

Is it more fun than other consoles? Yeah, without a doubt. And that's almost entirely due to the controllers. When you replicate real-world movements to activities on the screen, you really get immersed in any game. And that's hard to beat.

I was a huge fan of the SNES/NES as a kid. I played those systems all throughout my childhood. The N64 came out when I was about 16, but I never got into what the video game scene became. Video games seemed to become for harcore kids who were really into games and storylines. I never enjoyed games that required such involvement and depended on high quality graphics. Since I used to like to play video games, I loved games that had game PLAY. I really feel many games of recent years focused on new graphics and involvement (thousands of hours, etc.) and forgot about fun.
Then I got the Wii.
I waited a few years because I had long given up on video games. Now, I can't put the thing down. Between Wii Sports and Mario Kart Wii, I am now excited to play video games again. I think Nintendo not only has a hit, but has broken a huge demographic barrier and has created a long term trend. It has once again made video games useable for all ages and people. That's the way to a successful product.
My only dissapointment with the system is lack of a DVD player, but again, watching DVDs on a game system needlessly uses it for something it wasn't designed to do.
If you ever liked video games, buy the Wii. The 1995-2006 demographic of hard core videogamers will be dissapointed. Everyone else will love it!

Definitely not for hard core gamers, stick with the XBOX 360 or the PS3, those game titles are designed for you, the wii's game titles are definitely geared towards casual/platform gamers. A fun time is to be had by all when playing the Wii, give it a shot, like I said its worth the price.

Thank you.
