We bought half a dozen pairs and they're still going over a year later. Only downside is we had to buy the "security" earbuds for those units used where it gets loud. Would definitely purchase again.

Very disappointed! Live in the middle of IL farmland and get maybe 1 mile.
I would recommend this for kids use only as a toy not for serious communications.

These radios changed my long-held satisfaction with Midland. On clear day with line-of-sight transmission, not inside vehicles or buildings, 1.5 miles maximum communication. Called Midland
to try various settings....no change. Better to use two tin cans with taut string between them.

Great reception over long distaces in hilly, rugged terrain. Fairly easy to operate with many channels and lots of extras. Having the weather available was a great tool. Great price through Amazon.

Bought these and they have surpassed our expectations! Love them. They work just about anywhere and have tons of settings, I don't thinks I've even used close to half of them yet. Great buy! Have held up well, still look brand new months of use later.

I purchased these radios because of the previous reviews I read. I haven't been disapointed so far. I live on some acreage but cannot get cell service at my home. The radios are great to take with me while doing farm chores and essential for safety, should I have an accident while cutting firewood or another chore. I leave one of them at home in case I need help, or if my wife needs me, she can just call. I plan to use the headset during duck season when I chase a crippled bird that might fall several hundred yards from the duck blind. My partner will be able to guide me to the downed bird while I use my hands to operate the boat and outboard motor through the weed filled marsh. I am careful not to overcharge the batteries to make them last longer, since one reviewer mentioned that the charger was too strong and may overcharge the batteries, shortening their life. I would have given the product five stars but I have not put the radios through tough conditions as of yet so I reserved that last star. Cabela's has the same radio, but it was $40 more expensive. So far I am happy with my purchase.

good battery life great reception the charging station and options of the handsets on there own are exactly like stated and are well worth buying. i love the fact that you can take the batt packs out and use AA batts. the SOS function sucks tho. my kid can yell louder then that.

I bought these items to use at work, and they worked really well reception wise. About 2 weeks after I started using them, something broke internally on the power/volume knob. I will be replacing these with a unit that has a push button power control, so I won't have to worry about that.

Took them with us on a recent fishing trip. They worked great. Like the way it's put together. The only difficulty I had was understanding all the different functions and what they do. Most of them don't apply to our use. The basic call to the wife to start breakfast, etc was easy. The range was excellent. Should have bought these sooner.
