i am amused with this pair. i used them to play airsoft and they performed great, the headset are cheap, so sugest getting another or use them carefully, other than that, the VOX and WI (whisper option) works great.

THIS PRODUCT DIDNT WORK WHEN I ORDER IT THEN MANUFACTOR SENT ME NEW BATTERIES FOR THEM AND THEY STILL DIDNT STAY CHARGE FOR A HOUR. I FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS AND THEY STILL DIDNT WORK. SO OVER ALL PRODUCT SUCKS

I now have two sets of these and can't say enough good things about them. You have to keep in mind that the distance quoted is over perfect flat terrain so keep that in mind when picking a set of this type of radio. They are small, rugged and work well for up to fifteen miles which is about as far as I'd want to use them anyway. Nice alternate commo.

I live in a suburban area so I know the range will likely be a few miles at most. I bought these to use around the house and pool and for those purposes these work great. These Midlands are probably a little overkill in features for what I need them for but I definitely wanted rechargeable batteries and some water resistance. Here's what I found after three months of use:
PROS
- Great reception (only used under 100 yards)
- Been using it with wet hands around the pool with no problem
- Battery life is excellent; will last for several weeks at a time
CONS
- Battery indicator not accurate; will go from "full battery" picture to no life left within 5 seconds
- Battery got loose once and would not power up; only worked again when I swapped batteries from one to the other (strange but I didn't have time to troubleshoot)
OVERALL
- Works great; hoping battery issues are simply annoying and won't impact long-term usage
PROS

I ha brought one of these sets for my grand son for Christmas and he lost one days after Christmas. I ordered another set because we were so surprised how well they work. My grand son was able to walk home about 3 blocks away from my home and we could still hear each other very well. I will be using these when we go on a trip in cars.

Midland radios are hard to beat! We have several people who dog train with us and do not use Midland Radios. They are constantly buying new radios. We purchased this set as a back-up to the ones we have been using for the last 7 years, and they continue to operate without fault. Highly recommend Midland products.

Bought set of the radios impressed by headphones and car charger. One radio did not transmit - received only. Returned.
Get another one, charged, used day and a half. Overnight charging did not charged. Being on the field used 4 AA batteries. Radio is ok, charger dead. Returned. Total usage 1,5 day.

I have switched my two way radios from Motorola to Midlands. These radios work very well and are clear for communications. Never got them to go 36 miles, but for our hunting purposes they are great. In fact many in our hunting party have gone to this radio from Midland.

this is the best 2 way radio i have owned & i have had alot of them. in the mountains i get about 3 miles from my house before it gets staticy.

Works great I use them every day. The range is line of sight i work out doors so they are used in a harsh inviorment and seem to hold up welland the battery life is good

If you're getting walkies, get the GXT series from Midland! They are small, lightweight, durable, and high quality. They have one of the farthest distances for the cost and provide clear communication for my husband and I even in thick woods while hunting. They also work with other Walkies so everyone on our team can communicate with one another even when someone is away from their truck CB. Highly recommended!

To my opinion it is a great purchase, good built quality, great features, I'm planing also to buy the camp base GRMS radio that will fill my needs. Even there was some disappointing thing happen that my item was missing or stolen, since the Fedex/USPS confirmation was stated that it was delivered I never received that package. Therefore GREAT THANKS to Customer services representative Casey D. who promptly resolved the issue and I received my package within 2 days after. The Amazon Customer Service is awesome! Amazon is the best!!!

I have used the same pair for several years now, they were given to me. We use them for camping, hiking, snowmobiling and riding the ATV's. Nice and clear, I woudl definately recommend these to others

These radios are perfect for anything you need them for they perform flawlessly just as long you remember there signal cannot work thru trees or man made structures for better range you would have to climb highest point to achieve the range

has all the power and features needed for any personal use. The VOX feature is good for communicating while driving, with the earbud/mic, privacy features, full power available (with FCC license, of course) and a variety of channels. No flaws, arrived quickly in good condition. fun extras like scan

In the city the coverage don't reach 2 miles without biuldings. At 2 miles from "Metro" to house whit line of sight, I can't communicate :(

For the price you can't beat these. Within city limits were there are plenty of obstructions, we were able to get 15 miles before the signal became too weak for comprehension. Out in the open where there was no interference they worked even better.

We got these radios for my son for Christmas and immediately charged them and took them on vacation. They worked great. We brought them home, charged them, and only one of them functioned. A bummer considering they were three weeks old at the time, and having only one functioning radio doesn't provide a lot of fun. Customer service has been good and promised to ship a replacement, we'll see how that goes...

Long story short:
I bought them, one of them failed. I contacted customer service, it was awful.
As I'm a technician, opened the faulty one myself, and repaired the connectors that were just too low quality and were preventing the battery from giving electricity to the device.
After that, of course, it wasn't waterproof anymore, as I don't have like a laboratory to do it extremely cautioned.
Now they both work, the signal goes far as hell, yeaah, but is extremely hard to understand what the other says, even if you are 1 meter from each other. I will definitely go back to Motorola...

The radios let me down with the range achievable. I was hoping to get 5 to ten miles out of them in mild terrain, but at about 1.5 miles I lost connection. But for local and running around my farm they work good until we are on opposite ends, that is a bit to far. But I love the options available on them, like the voice activated.
