This is a great solution if you are wanting more space for your iPod or ipad. I received one of these not knowing what to expect and I was blown away! Extremely easy to use interface and drag and drop functionality. This thing is awesome for road trips. Between apps and games I had hardly an acceptable enough amount of room for my music and now I am able to fit my whole library on this thing. Looks really cool and is a perfect slim size. This is the way to go if you need more space and don't want to spend a large sum of money on another device. Another really cool aspect of this thing is using multiple devices to connect to it. My girlfriend and I both connect to this before bed with our ipads and watch movies together as well as read epubs from it. I have connected to this with 3 devices at once so far and have not had a skip or a hiccup. Definitely recommend this to anyone that wants an easy way to share files with others or just give your device a refreshing upgrade! Very easy to use for the not tech savvy type of person! Buy it now you know you want too!!!!

I bought a 32GB Wi Drive to expand the storage of my Kindle Fire, and it works great for this. (There is a free app in the App Store that goes with it). I was able to load several movies on it and watch them on my Fire easily, with barely a glance at the instructions. The signal the Wi drive put out was good and the video played smoothly. This will be great for travelling, when I don't have Wi-Fi access. Also, as a tip for Kindle Fire users, I sideloaded the MoboPlayer App and was able to watch almost any video format on my Fire, not just MP4.

I have a Iphone 4 and I was give a gift certificate which I used to get a 16g wi-drive and it worked great with the iPhone. I also got a kindle fire for christmas. I found that amazon was going to come out with the wi-drive program which I just downloaded and it was no problem getting it to work with the fire giving me 24g of usable memory with the fire for shows, movies, and pictures.Also one person can watch a movie stored on the wi-drive and another person can watch the same move or a different movie stored on the same wi-drive at the same time, sharing media on the same wi-drive at the same time with two different devices.Kingston Wi-Drive 32 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive WID/32GBZ

This is a really good product and if you have a IPAD its a nice adition. If you get the last firmware you can use it for all phones and PC with a browser

I bought this specifically because the HTC One X has almost no internal storage. This would have been PERFECT. Unfortunately, this does not work with the phone. The phone just searches forever and never finds the drive. Unless it gets fixed, this thing is useless to me. May as well send it back...

It was easy to setup and navigate around the menu. I decided to go with this over the Seagate. My reasoning was that it was flash memory as opposed to a hard drive. I figured it could take a beating (like if I dropped it), although I admit to not knowing if hard drives are really robust now-a-days. My guess is that they are. After all they are commonly in laptops. However, I didn't know for sure. I streamed a movie (mp4) to my iphone and ipad at the same time. No stuttering.Ran 1 movie alone for about 20 mins. Decided to put it on the charger. The unit is warm as heck. Hot even. Not so hot you can't hold it, but enough to make you worry. Other than it getting warm, I love it.

It doesn't boast largest capacity, but it does boast smallest footprint. I find that 32GB is adequate and that the Wi-Drive works flawlessly. I watch videos over it on my Tab 7.7 and Note.

Unit gets very hot,Wi-Drive apps crashes over and over.Once you have any files loaded, you can only use themwithin the wi-drive app only.Its very buggy.The only purpose you can use this for it to copy a file from the wi-drive onto your ipad or iphone, then shut it off.You can only work with the files within the Wi-Drive app only.Your better off bringing a laptop and plugging into the good old cable and copying files onto your ipad the old fashioned waythrough iTunes.

If you need a wi-fi small footprint backup device (great for when travelling and taking photos to be stored) this is the device for you! No bigger than an iPhone, this item is the real deal!Anytime you want to download off your other devices - just create files on this drive and BOOM your set to save and then do with what you will when you go back to the files. Works for me!

I bought this wi drive on amazon and the drive is the worst thing ever and such a rip off. I tried it with my ipad2 and my iPod and the only thing that works is music. You can't play movies or even short tv shows because it just freezes and never plays. I was suckered into buying the product after reading all the good reviews.

Don't waste your money on this cheesy POS! It takes up as much room as a standard smart phone and offers such a little bit! How hard would it be to just get a small plug in device that has an expansible SD card slot? That would be something worth something, but this is just an over priced cell phone with wifi, and it does nothing else, other than the the space. It does what is says. Data transfer is a little slow via USB. It's great for data expansion on multiple devices. Great for sharing data without using 3g, or cloud technolgy. It's like having your own personal media server. Android users can use thier phones the same way if they enable hotspot, and media share then install MediaConnect app on your iphone or ipad or ipod touch.

This wireless drive is an excellent portable device for folks who own a lot of files. I utilize my storage space on the iPad and iPhone for music and photos. This device extends capacity, giving me more options on what to listen to while I'm traveling. The design is sleek. It's super light. And it fits nicely in a small pocket in my bag. It's my small personal wireless network. The only downside is that the max storage capacity is only 16 GBs and it doesn't seem to integrate with iTunes and iPhoto. But Kingston is a great company. I know there will be bigger and better things to come.

I just got the Wi-Drive and was setup and sharing in 5 minutes. The Wi-Drive is great for seamless sharing of movies and videos. I had multiple movies streaming on 2 different iPhones and did not experience any lag.User manual that comes with the Wi-Drive explains the basics on how to setup and share files. However, for more detailed information such as securing your Wi-Drive network they provide a PDF file at [...]The Wi-Drive requires that you download the free WiDrive app from the Apple store in order to share or play files. The app is well made and easy to navigate.The only con about the Wi-Drive is that you can't share files while the Wi-Drive is connected to the computer.

The Wi-drive is a step in the right direction. Wireless data access to your iPod/iPhone/iPad is a great idea. It was not hard to set up this product and it is easy to transfer data onto it. It acts as it extra space for your iPod/iPhone/iPad. If you have a bunch of music that you can't fit on a 8GB iPod touch, this will work wonders. It is very lightweight and portable so it is not an issue to carry about in a pocket. Streaming music and videos works flawlessly. I was very impressed with this because there was no lag at all. I took off a star because I was hoping there was a way of transferring data from the Wi-drive to your Apple product but that may be difficult. It is still a solid piece of Kingston nonetheless.I recommend it to anyone who is having trouble with space on their iPod/iPhone/iPad.

I Love this. Load it up with all the junk (Books, music and pictures) and take it on the road. Wi-fi connection has been exemplary. We may get another one or get the 32GB.

The WiDrive works as advertised. The streaming is flawless. I also developed a way to access the drive to up load and download to and from my iPad and iPhone WIRELESSLY. All you need is the Goodreader App. You can even transfer your camera roll photos wirelessly. If you have Goodreader just set up WebDave server sync or connection. You will have instant access to upload and download wirelessly. As for the performance I give this unit a A++. Battery life last long enough for day use.It's a keeper.

I got one of these to supplement the memory of my 8gb iPod touch. After a bit of tinkering I got the drive charged, then added the media I wanted.....music and lots of it. Then I tested it out. The first thing I will say is the drive works just like it should everything streamed perfectly and I had no real issues making the whole thing work.Next I took it to my work place to show the other iPhonies and they downloaded the app and viola streaming to 3 devices......awesome, now that said the only downside I have with this nifty gadget was Wi-Fi range.....it would not transmit through a cubilce wall to the next desk over. Aside from that NO PROBLEMS. Pretty sure the guy I work with is saving his coins to pick one up!

This device does add usable storage to the iPad limited by supported file types. Slightly cumbersome to add files while connected to pc but the drive is inaccessible wirelessly from the pc. But it does add accessible storage. Running apps while using drive in background a little quirky too. Overall, if storage a must, do it.

I received my Wi-Drive in late November and have found that it works as advertised without problem. Contrary to earlier reviews, I have found that the unit does work when charging from the wall charger, possibly the firmware has been updated from earlier versions. There is also a beta app available for Android devices in the Android Market. (Not yet available for the Kindle Fire in the Amazon app store.) I have also found that the signal range is very good and easily exceeds the advertised 30 feet. All in all, a great product to increase your mobile devices storage.

The Kingston Wi-Drive works absolutely great with my Kindle Fire. Streams films and music without a problem. Its very small and the extra 32GB gives me lots of room for media to take on the move with me. Looking forward to the release of the 64GB version.

Very disappointed. The device is marketed as a wifi hard dive for items like the Apple iPad. However, if you want to use it for theatrical movies, if you downloaded them from iTunes, they will not transfer to the portable drive. It was not as wonderful as some of the reviews have stated and their customer support was dismal. Caveat emptor!

If Apple had a micro sd slot for the iPhone and the iPad, you would not need this large and expensive device limited to only 4 hours of use per charge to port your files around. Given such limitations, this is a good solution for the problem. Maybe one day Apple will learn that its faithful fans do not have endless amount of money to throw away and manufacture devices with up to date modern connectivity. Given the problem, this is a good solution.
