I bought these for my wife to listen to her mp3 player in the kitchen. She loves them and they sound great. If you are looking for a 2.0 multimedia speaker system I would highly recommend them.

I was looking for a small pair of powered speakers for my daughters room that would blend in well with her pink decor. She was previously using a full size boom box that has CD, Tape, and Radio, but most of the time she likes to listen to her CD's at night and often gets up to change them thus cutting into her sleep.My plan was to fill her SanDisk Sansa e250 2 GB MP3 Player with microSD Expansion Slot (Black) with hours and hours of her favorite music. Also, I would no longer have to burn CD's of her favorite music downloads. She also enjoys listening to Delilah from time to time, and since the Sansa has FM as well, my problem was solved.These little speakers have a clear, beautiful sound to them.I would recommend these speakers if you are looking for quality computer speakers, or powered speakers to play music from your Mp3 player.

I did some looking around for small speakers for my laptop, to have my own little stereo system at my desk.I found these - matched my wallet, many people seemed excited (user ratings)So I went for it.I loved em from the get-go and two + years later they still treat me great.I listen to a lot of jazz, especially more modern jazz with a full dynamic sound - They knock it out nice.I listen to reggae like it is going out of style. These babies do Bob Marley proud - he would likely have a pair (RIP Bob).I need speakers that can play Brian Eno, then Stephen Halpern, and go on to bang out Lynyrd Skynyrd.These speakers rock whatever they need to, they are versatile.(Not to mention they are made by JBL and Harmon Karden.) Nice.I just bought my wife a pair, she is resisting having them [her work-space is very tight] but the SOUND these babies have is starting to win her over!Oh, BTW - I have never had a problem (nor has my wife) with the ground, buzzing, nothing like that.Also, I disagree with the folks saying they don't have the bass.I mean, ultimately, whaddaya want, they are tiny - duh - but I love the dynamic response all around. Just shut up and get them, GEEZ!HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED.

I have a love of loud music and blew the speakers on my husband's Mac Pro. I read great reviews on these speakers and bought them. They are AMAZING!!!!! I even bought another pair for my kitchen. They sound great and don't cost much.

i considered several other speaker sets; some 3 piece units before i took a chance on these..WOW great great sound-clear and a good quality bass. only complaint is the on-off volume knob is a bit awkward to grasp. other than that minor fault, i highly recommend these speakers.

The speakers are a bit bass heavy for my taste, but still a great value for their size and cost. Bass heavy music tends to sound a bit muffled, but overall I still think this is a great option if someone is looking for laptop speakers that pack a bit of a punch. Very stylish design that compliments my macbook very well. Wow, I sound like an apple snob :)

Bought these speakers for the price and they are a great price. Regardless of all the reviews I've read about the speakers having a buzzing noise I have not heard this sound yet. I think these speakers are great for the money and have a nice sound. I am proud to own a set. Thanks JBL.

These speakers are great for the price. Don't expect too much out of them though. I think it's a little overhyped on amazon.com. I would definitely suggest these speakers to buyers who are looking for quality speakers with a good sound on a budget, and who doesn't care about having Excellent sounding speakers. The bass isn't that great either on these speakers. hope this helps. Oh, and the nob is hard to turn. I have to use two hands to turn the them off; one hand to keep the speakers stable. Oh, and there is an occasionally static sound, it happens quite frequently when you start using them but lessens as you use them more. And the speaker with the nob gets really hot sometimes but nothing to serious i think. They're good speakers though.

I needed some speakers for my Mac Pro. I just needed a boost so I could hear my audio books without pressing my ear to the CPU. I chose the JBLs for their price and size. I wasn't expecting surround sound quality.I was pleasantly surprised with the JBLs. The sound is good and, for their size, packs a much better wallop than I expected.I have them sitting behind my monitor and have had no buzzing or humming as experience by others.The adjustable volume knob is a nice feature, although I wish it wasn't as slippery. I have to hold onto the speaker to get a good grip.I've listened to classical, rock, audio books and jazz so far and I'm very happy with the performance. I've even edited sound effects and can hear everything I need to without putting on headphones. I am happy with my purchase.

When I purchased these speakers I didn't expect much but after having used them for a month or so, I think these are great speakers for the price. One thing you should know is that it doesn't have a headphone jack, but you can't do better for the price. I love the size of the speakers and the quality of sound. Great product.

The speakers are surprisingly good for something so cheap. Simple set up: i.e. plug and play. There are no subwoofers, balance control, etc, but I really can't complain.

These speakers are stylish and sound great--until you use them in the same room as a GSM phone (i.e. AT&T or T-Mobile). The amplifier and cables are completely unshielded, and they make the loudest, most obnoxious buzzing around a cell phone that I have ever heard out of a pair of speakers. My phone makes most speakers chirp a little, but these things belch out the interference at heretofore unheard volumes. Completely unusable if you plan to charge your iPhone next to your iMac.

For such small speakers they sound great and can get decently loud. I paid ~$30 and at that price they are an excellent deal. I saw several other reviewers mention a buzzing sound - I have not experienced this with my speakers (I've had them a little over two months now).Only two minor issues: no jack for headphones -and- in order to turn the power off, you have to turn the volume dial to zero. It would be nice if it was a push button dial or had a separate power button so that I didn't have to mess up the volume setting to turn the speakers off.

These speakers give a natural sound to voice and music. I listen a lot to classical guitar and the instrument comes through very nicely. I first placed them on a shelf on the wall above my computer. Since the speaker cones apparently are angled somewhat upward, I found they sounded better when I placed them at the same level as the computer. But either way they are excellent. Yes, JBL could have designed a better on/off button, but you can cover it with a piece of thin rubber or tape to grab it better.I don't know if other speakers have a volume button separate from the on/off button, a feature that would let you keep the same volume all the time. The JBLs don't have it, but you can't expect perfection for a mere $39 with free shipping. These speakers perfectly fit my needs.

These speakers are good for the money, but nothing to write hope about so speak. The company delivered them in timely manner and they look rather slick on the desk. If you are looking for a great sound quality, I advise you to spend a little more money and buy better speakers.

I listen to alot different music, from classical to primus to the alabama 3 and all of them sound great through these speakers. I was amazed at how well they sounded with bass heavy music blaring out of them.I have had no problems with the knob being too hard to turn. one handed adjustments made with no probs.Even gaming with these is good. They pick all the midrange sounds that my cheaper speakers missed out on and aren't at all "tinny" sounding like other small speakers. The one i'm currently playing actually sounds like a completely different game through these.I was recommended these speakers by a friend, and am happy she told me about them.

These are amazingly smooth-sounding speakers--much better than the $120 Advents they replaced. They have excellent imaging and present a surprising amount of detail from the music. I listen to all kinds of music during my workday--dance, classical, 50s cool jazz, alternative, folk, country--and the Duets do justice to them all. I'm also glad that they have a small footprint and are fairly small overall, so space is not an issue.Bass is ok, but if bass response is very important to you, you'll need to add a sub. These speakers don't do thumpa-thumpa or explosions.

After reading the reviews I expected better sound quality. Overall, OK for the money. If you are expecting rich, full sound reproduction, I suggest you look elsewhere.

The speakers sound great, good bass, good sound generally. Easy to set up. One tiny quibble: the volume knob is pointy and slippery and difficult to turn. But you don't have to turn it, really, since you can do the volume thing from the keyboard.

These speakers work fine. I don't hear any hissing and the sound is fine. I use them in my office with three others surrounded by computers, telephones and other electronics and no distortion. good purchase and I would recommend.

This item shipped very fast. And it works fine. However, I noticed a good amount of scratches on this item, which makes me suspect that it may have been used. The scratches were on the back, so they don't bother me because you cannot see them. I would just beware. Although I was not 100% happy with the item, It wasn't worth it to send them back.

I was very happy when I purchased these speakers. In my view these are the best 2.0 speakers available in the market as far as sound quality is concerned. But one of the speakers stopped working after less than 2 mths of use. Now I am trying to get it replaced. May be mine was one off case where they didnt last but that was my experience with'em. Otherwise very good looking, good quality, compact speakers.

We needed some new speakers for our Mac Mini, and these have worked out great. Nice sound, and they don't take up a lot of space. Plus, the white matches the rest of the components.

Bought these to accompany my new MacBook. Their sound output and quality is better than most smallish desk speakers I've owned. Just don't expect them to produce room-filling studio quality sound. But if you're in the market for a good set of simple speakers, these attractive speakers won't disappoint.

A faint buzzing noise was present which was especially noticible when speakers were ON while no audio signal from my computer was being sent to the speakers.After two weeks of minimal use, the speakers didn't even turn on.I think I must have gotten a bum pair, as the other reviews are good.The speakers are stylish, but I couldn't judge the sound quality because of the buzzing or vibration noise.

Based on user comments, I figured I'd buy slightly more expensive speakers for the office than I'd intended. Unlike many of the other reviewers though, after listening to them, I didn't think these speakers significantly outperformed other speakers in the $20-30 range. They're fine enough, but I think you definitely pay a premium for the styling. Bass is pretty much exactly what you'd expect from low end speakers, nor do they particularly fill a medium sized room. But hey, they look good and they're still reasonably inexpensive.

Previously I used a set of Klipsh 2.0 computer speakers that blew the socks off of these speakers in sound quality (and just about every other feature).2. Clipping - at medium-high levels these speakers clip3. Volume Knob/On-Off Knob - This knob is shiny and smooth, making it difficult to grab, it is fairly hard to turn as well - which is not a good combination. I'm 31 and like to exercise (I'm not weak) and it is annoying to me that I need to use to hands to turn these one - one to hold the entire speaker so I can get some leverage, the other to turn the knob - thats ridiculous.Kids under 10, or folks over 60 would probably not be able to get these speakers on very easily.4. Not available in Black______________________________That said, this price range is fairly bottom of the barrel and these might just do the trick for you.

I was looking for speakers I can use with my iPod Shuffle. These are perfect! They are only operated by plug in and don't have the option of batteries, but that's not a deal breaker. The sound is excellent!

We bought these speakers to use with our i-pod. The sound is great and we use it for our living room stereo system. I like the fact that they are white which matches the i-pod and our bookshelves. I have the same speakers (few years older & silver) on my Mac at work. Great bass and definition. These are the best speakers for the size and money.

Definitely a good buy! I've had these for nearly two years, and still using them all the time and have been happy. They live on my table next to my macbook. My tech-y son recommended them and he's been using his own for a long time too (haha, he doesn't even know I called him 'tech-y'. :o)

These speakers sound great. I'm using them for my desktop PC, and when I travel, for my laptop. The only drawback is the power/volume switch, which is a little hard to turn on.

These little speakers get big speaker loud. They have great range and just work incredibly, my only complaint is that the little green lights sometimes get on my nerves. I have these paired with an x rocker in my little mini office (hard to explain) just know that with a little bit of bass these things rival speaker systems that cost way more.
