Great Product, but the compatible WIFI extenders have been discontinued
I bought this product about 6 months ago. Works well, good speeds, easy to set up and manage.
The problem came when I moved to a larger property and decided to take advantage of the Mesh Network capabilities it advertises. Here and on the website the compatible range extender for this product is the DAP-1620.
That product has now been discontinued in the UK, despite still being advertised as a key component of this Routers Mesh capabilities.

Not as good as it looks
Bought this to replace a Virgin Superhub 3. The range on the 5ghz is far better but the speed is maybe 60%.
The 2ghz is much faster... But the range is very very limited in comparison to the Superhub.
A pointless purchase. Returned!
Max speed on internal networking over 5g/AC was 360mbps. The Virgin hub hits around 500 Mbps.
The 2ghz range is at least double the on the virgin hub but half the speed.
Update -
Turned out I had a faulty unit.
Awesome router. Good range and speed.
The 2ghz is much faster... But the range is very very limited in comparison to the Superhub.

NOT WORKING WITH VIRGIN HUB 3.0 ITS NOT EASY TO INSTALL AND ITS NOT PLUG AND PLAY
Spend a week trying to make t work.... bought two of them, both with this same issue...When you put your HUB 3,0 to modem mode router is not receiving internet signal from HUB so you can join broadcasted WIFI but there will be no internet on it.... Dlink support was not able to help my fix this issue even after we tried everything in their books like firmware update, calling to virgin itself and getting mix answers from their engineers, IP changing , forcing firmware by wlan and any other thing you can possibly think of

Great product, great wifi coverage.
Bought this router for my office. We had really struggled with wifi coverage for a long time trying various routers with no luck, finally we've got coverage! Easy to set up, fast download /upload speeds. It has made such a difference to our productivity at work. We download up to 50gb of video per day so we're now able to do this quickly with no drop outs - highly recommend.

Does the job & sorted Virgin Hub 3 issues out.
Set Virgin Hub to modem mode and plug in, load App and follow simple set up instructions. Worked first shot after a phone reboot after set up. Rock solid data at max Virgin send me and no more device conflicts. I have 42 devices connected and in 20 minutes everything runs like a train.

get it to work
I could not get it to work I sent D-Link two Emails but had no reply its useless. I have add the Email I sent to them below. I thing of tell Computer Active as they give it a good write-up
Iv just purchased your D-Link AC1900 smart mesh , when I plug in the lead to the Internet socket
It cuts off my phone and shows a message on the phone ( Check Phone Line ) when I unplug it
The phone is ok and its ok then I plug my old router back in can you tell me what I am doing

You get what you pay for
This is great for the price. Unfortunately I had to send mine back due to a fault. After jumping through hoops on a customer service platform from the 90s and sending pictures, files and the invoice, dlink determined it was faulty. But I paid £84 for a wifi6 router. I got what I paid for and it was good when it worked. Exchanged it for Asus ax86

A step up
My 8 year old router started dropping its' connection 2-3 times an hour. REALLY annoying. This model was was built to the latest standards and could support a ridiculous number of devices simultaneously. The reviews were solid and the signal seemed adequate for my living space. It's been a reliable performer and streaming media has been flawless. Can't rate tech support because install was very easy, and I'm definitely not a techie. Would highly recommend this router.

tried to use it with virgin media. poor WiFi signal in a 1 bed flat. Sent it back, no worth the money.

Meh. Software is very basic. Not very configurable.
I have used a Synology router for 5+ years. In case you don't know Synology is THE standard. The software is awesome and I have been using the bands in 5ghz that most other users never even knew existed. Ain't never nobody else on those bands even in the crowd of 4 million near my house. The Dlink software is very, very basic. Unimpressed and returning the router for that reason alone. Bought the new Synology 2600 for only $75 more. So worth it,

Worse than the cheap ISP router so it got returned
First of all the plug and cables it comes with are way too short, I think 1m which is barely long enough to reach from the plug to a table.
Then the wifi signal is rubbish, I have 500mbps internet and in my office over wifi with my ISP router i get about 350-400mbps, the Dlink DIR-X1860 could only manage about 200mbps maximum even on Wifi 6.
This just isnt worth spend any money on when the FREE router from the ISP is twice as fast (and has longer plug cables)

easy set up and super fast
Currently, live in a three-story home. Main wifi is on the third floor and I was not getting a strong wifi signal on the 1st and 2nd floor. Bought this and really love this product. Set up was super easy. The free app guides you step by step. The wifi mesh system gave me super fast speeds and did not have any disconnections or issues.

Not as good as the standard Virgin WiFi Signal!
I bout this because i wanted to get a better wifi signal in my room as I have a 200mb connection with Virgin, and just moved into a new house, but was only getting 40 on my pc. I bought this and at first it was significantly better, but now that i've put my pc where i want to put it, the regular virgin wifi is still kicking out about 40, but now this can't even connect! those external antennas don't really seem to be worth very much after all, highly dissapointed.

Simply put, the user interface is trash. Yeah I said it.
Don't get me wrong, if you're looking for something easy to setup and use right away (definitely for someone without any knowledge about networking) this is it. But if you're a power user like me, and like to maintain control of your wifi/network, trust me, their idea of a "simple" interface is a nightmare. Want to block unwanted connections? Good luck with what they call "Parental Controls", which DOESN'T DO ANYTHING. Want to prioritze certain connections? Oh sure, use their "intuitive" drag and drop interface which only allows 1 high, 2 mid, and the rest low level connections. Great job devs at Dlink! You sure nailed that one! Definitely not recommended, unless you just discovered the internet. Yeah.

Absolutely dreadful, stay clear (March 2020)
Absolutely dreadful, I connected this to Sky Q hub and it worked for about 6 hours, after that it was constant WiFi disconnects, sometimes it would get stuck and was unable to reconnect prompting the D-Link app to request a restart, this process takes about 3 minutes. I thought my Sky Hub was bad, this is even worse. Stay clear. Refund/Return processed.

Wireless networks are god awful.
Scratching the surface, this seemed like an amazing modem to have. Really easy to set up, use, everything was great. The biggest problem I had and that I've seen others have is the wireless networks failing. I've never had issues with any routers or modems in the past, no interference in any way. The wifi just stops working. Wired always seemed fine, no issues there. But wireless often disconnected or just wouldn't work unless I restarted the modem. I believe this was because of the 2G and 5G networks being combined into one. I made sure the latest firmware was installed and essentially tried about every workaround online to no avail.

Fantastic Router
This router is utterly brilliant, if your like me and have many electronic devices all vying for the internet, then this is the solution the tri band is fantastic, use it to separate your old devices from the faster ones, it’s brilliant.

Best new technology I’ve bought in years. I set it up in five minutes. Runs like a racehorse.
Bought this router to replace older technology. I have a large and complicated house, and had to use two routers to give adequate coverage. The D-Link AC2600 reaches all the far corners of all three stories, through the 10 ft square concrete chimney in the middle of the house and all. A smart TV in a wing that used to get a very marginal signal before now says “Good 27Mbps”.
Setup was a piece of cake. It took literally five minutes and I did it all with my smartphone.
Things that I used to have think through before are now done automatically. And now when my relatives come to stay over for Christmas they can all watch movies or TV on their tablets in bed at the same time.
I couldn’t be more pleased. I bought this router on the strong recommendation of CNET. They tested it and were spot on.

Not what I expected
Installed this after reading good reviews but to say I’m disappointed would be an understatement. After taking a couple of hours to transfer all the connected devices over to the new router it’s worse than the standard offering from EE. More black spots and now devices like Peloton which never had a problem are buffering and dropping out. I’m now looking at moving back to the EE router even though it’s not ideal as I can’t put up with this. Our house is not massive and this type of router just cover it. As I said earlier, thoroughly disappointed

At this price point, this router kicks butt. Strong signal, easy set-up... well kind of.
I'm taking a star off because of D-Link's stupid idea to include uselessly short cables. Unless you plan on mounting this router right next to your modem, you'll need to buy longer cables. I had to find an extension cord to put my new router ontop of my desk hutch. Ridiculous.
Once I got it going, it was great. But I shouldn't have to work so hard fixing a nonsensical issue.

what they dont tell you is it needs a MODEM' will not work out of the box' APP for phone nothing no App dont work just comes up with search for product waste of time. sending it back it's a box of rubbish

D-Link AC2600 slow performance
This D-Link EXO AC2600 is a waste of money. I bought and installed it per the instruction, but I did not notice any change in internet speed compared to my old router that was provided by the cable company. The max speed I can get using the 2.4Ghz was 26Mbps download and upload. My old router actually provided higher speed. I spent 1.5 hours with the tech support on day 1 to fix the issue, but that did not help. I am very disappointed and frustrated. I will call support once again and if they can't fix the speed, I will return it.

Costly after McAfee trial and Google Assistant no longer integrated
Bought because of interaction with Google Assistant but "Talk to D-Link Wi-Fi" is no longer available on Google Assistant/Home.
Also would have to pay a Mcafee fee after free trial period to use the Defend app.

Reliability should be better at this price point
I had to ditch my D-Link Exo AC2600 MU-Mimo after less than 4 months. I had an inconsistent connection on a regular basis. I had to often reboot everything (which is a pain when you're on a VPN and have other things you have to log into). Eventually the problem became so bad that I was having difficulty transferring files to my client. After that point, it became unusable, and I had to ditch it. I've replaced it with a Synology RT2600ac, and everything is nice and zippy now!
