This router is trivial to setup. Signal strength is quite good throughout my home. The only frustrating problem with this router that actually forced me to abandon using this and get back to my old router is that all the mobile devices keep getting disconnected on this one. Tried all possible troubleshooting with whatever tech support available and couldn't resolve this. Checked with multiple mobile devices and the pattern is the same - they all work absolutely good with the old router but not this one.

D-Link N300 always my favourite when comes to WiFi router. Reviewing this product after using for 4 days. Ours is duplex house with a pent house. We place this router in first floor with ACT internet connection. It covers the whole building, no signal issue. Ground floor & 2nd floor internet speed was between 25-35 Mbps, 1 St floor the internet speed was > 50 Mbps.

Please do not buy this product if your broadband connection is PPPoE. It does not support this type of connection. I faced a lot of trouble in getting this to work. Finally D Link customer care asked me to return the product as they were also unable to troubleshoot the router. So please be cautious before buying this.

Dlink has multiple routers at various price range. Dlink DIR-615 is being an entry level wifi router has good reception and transmission capabilities. I am using this as secondary-router in Wireless AP mode. My primary router is D-Link DIR-825, which is one of the best by D-Link.
I was initially using a TP-Link double antenna router, which is not a good one due to it's poor reception capabilities.
This router is one of the best option in this price of ₹899.

Using it with my excitel internet connection. Initially was not able to connect directly as excitel has Ethernet port. After too much digging online was able to get setting required. Still it didn't worked. Raised a complaint with excitel guys they did some settings from their end then only it started working. But range is quite good for this product.

Great Device in Great Price! Go for it! My package was came before their scheduled time. And during this lockdown period I have to study from online classes. And as you all know that during this period, all the shops are remain closed. This is why, I ordered it from Amazon and I am very happy for getting it in right time. I live in a flat and I have his router placed in my room and I get a gr8 range in my hall and other rooms also. The setup is complicated but u can check youtube for it.My pack has 150mbps speed and I get gr8 range from this router.Gr8 for browsing,gaming etc. We get LAN cable in box which u can use for faster speed on pc . Since it is a single band router it shall not be useful for people living in bungalows since we get limited range.hope u found my review useful

Device is not receive as per image. I was expected that the antina was shown in back side of device, but i receive the device with left, right antena. This the updated pruduct of D-link,
Which is not compatible to us. The configuration is much tuffer than previous product and also i realise the reset bottom is not working on this device.

Product is somewhat costly than the market,1099 bought iball baton router 6 months back at rs.800 now that is unavailable so thats why i bought this from amazon and received a used router..

Very good router, happy with my purchase, the important thing to keep in mind before buying a router is that what kind of band is supported by the devices where you want to use the Wifi, is 2.4ghz devices are more in number you should go for this, or else buy the fancy gigabyte routers.

It started giving me problem from the very first day. First it took 3 hours to just configure to the connection and even now I cannot login to the admin page. Secondly, the connection is so bad that it drops more than 5-6 times a day. I trusted the brand name, D-Link but I guess it`s a replica not the authentic product. i asked for the replacement of the router, their courier boy picked it up and after 5 days keeping it with themselves they refunded my money. Such a waste of TIME.

The product was installed in my home . But to our surprise though it is mentioned that it can take speed upto 300 mps , I am getting only 45 mps speed internet. When I connect the internet connection direct with out your router the speed in mps goes beyond 200 mps.How do I address this issue.

This product was a defective piece. By the time I ran my tests on it the return or replacement window was closed. Now I'm stuck with this product. Had to buy another one which is working fine.
The sad part is that the quality test on this particular product may not have been done effectively which in turn coates me.
If Amazon reads this, I'd request them to reach out to me.

Purchased it on 21st may ,The router worked for 5-6 perfectly and started creating issues after a week just a day after the return window is closed. Worst service by DLink . Tried contacting the service center they asked me to courier it, I purchased it for ₹1100 and pay 200 rs for courier as well, Are you serious?

Save your hard-earned dollars and buy a better router. This D-Link is junk. I purchased about 18 months ago, thinking it would provided better range throughout the house than an old Linksys. It did provide a little better range, but it won't stay usable (WiFi speed degrades every 24-72 hours, and this router needs to be rebooted to resolve). E-mail technical support from D-Link was useless (and had difficulty understanding my simple request for firmware with a scheduled nightly reboot as a workaround, which would help). Our household only has 5 devices, and we are not heavy streamers either. Basic web browsing becomes impossible every 24-72 hours, and the manual reboot is needed to correct. Connection speed tests in the same room as the router start at our ISP's rate (30Mbps), but drop to less than 1Mbps within a few days. Again rebooting fixes, so it is not the ISP. Steer clear of this product (I bought the DIR-822). In my opinion, it's total junk and D-Link doesn't seem to care. Yes it's cheap (I paid $50, but it's now only about $40), but $40 is a lot of money for a paperweight. This might be a good weight-loss device - it will require you to walk over to it often, and reset it, adding to your steps for the week. If you have a work from home job that requires reliable WiFi, you could also use this device to test the patience of your employer, customers, or partners.

I was very disappointed in this product. Coverage was similar to my Netgear 1750, but internet speeds were considerably slower. I also have issue with some of the software choices that D-Link made, such as only allowing reserved IP address for 24 devices and no option for DHCP leases to never expire. Even when leases were set to the max time, the router dropped connection with devices constantly. This caused several devices to enter a reboot loop trying to reconnect. If this is the D-Link standard I will not buy buying any of their products, and I have already returned this one.

I really....REALLY wanted to make this work for me. I've been working in IT and have a very strong networking background. After reading the reviews here, I thought to myself 'these bad reviews are from nontechie people and they have no idea what they're taling about'......boy was I wrong!!!!

1. setup process
I've never had to EVER put my phone into airplane mode to setup a device....WTF. (at lease the app tells you in the setup process to disable cellular network)
2. firmware
I made sure to upgraded to the latest firmware (1.08). After several reboots, 1/2 devices is showing up as 1.07.
3. Wifi SSID
it only supports "Only A-Z, a-z, 0-9, “-”, “_”, and spaces are allowed"
this is very unfortunate. We should be able to use any character we want for higher security
4. Router / Bridge mode
I already have a very robust and capable router. I wanted to use this system as just Access Point mode. I had to settle for bridge mode. After switching to bridge mode, I lost guest-wifi ability. Again...WTF?!?
5. point devices
the 2 devices are no longer showing as being connected to the system when I use wired connection for the backhual
6. high latency
one of the reviews mentioned slow connection. download speeds are VERY SLOW. I have 200mb internet connection. I'm barely able to get 3mbps when connected to this system.

Maybe I got a broken unit(s) like other reviewers? I'm not sure. what I do know is like the other bad reviewers, I had a really bad experience with this. I'm going to return it back.

I bought the dlink mesh because my provided router from AT&T just wasn’t extending to my garage and other parts of the home. Setup was super easy and straight forward (coming from a non-techy guy). One I had it setup, I placed the three pods at different parts of my house where I thought coverage might be needed. After setup was complete, I checked my devices to see how I was doing in terms of Wi-Fi coverage and just like that, I was up and running. Don’t hesitate to buy the dlink mesh!! Super easy to setup, extends your Wi-Fi like a charm, and doesn’t look bad and out of place either! Highly recommend

2 days into it and let's just say I am NOT impressed. The first impression was not good, the plastic is discolored and looks dirty after taking off the plastic protection. I then plugged it in and wow the menu is not so great, whatever I am just turning it into an access point so who cares what it looks like. I looked into the settings and saw it will fit the bill. 80+80 and it allows for DHCP to be disabled, I only want it to add WiFi 6 to my network as I just upgraded the mainlines to my servers to 10GB fiber and thought even if I get 20MBps more out of my AC network it is a win since WiFi is so slow compared to the rest of the network now.

Now to the truth of things. We do photo and video editing and while the connection says it is fast it can not keep up with my Asus RT-AC66U access points and routers. It starts out at 42Mbps for about 3-5 seconds then drops to less than 1Mbps. The unit gets hot as soon as I access large data files. My AC setup with my RT-AC66Us transfer at 50-65MBps for the whole transfer and I tried this we 4 different laptops and 2 desktops that all have AC-9260 all the way up to AX200's that do 160MHz connections.

I do not think this is a valid Netgear as it looks like it was a refurb or a knock off. Very displeasing and I will be returning it.

Just disappointing at this point that this fails on so many levels for what it was built for. I do not blame Netgear, their equipment looks more polished than this and I am sure they perform better too.

Nowhere in the entire description of this product does it mention that the Antennas are FIXED. That’s correct! You cannot unscrew them. It never mentions once that they are not DETACHABLE OR REPLACEABLE IF THEY GO BAD (which all antennas do!)

And it’s simply false advertising. They say “extremely high power antennas!” But it’s a load of BOLOGNA. Two of the antennas are a measly 2 DBI (think: your router from 2003 when roadrunner first came out and most people still had Dial-Up) and the other two *gasp* are 5 dBi... NOT TO MENTION THEY ARE ALL OMNI. WHY.

Not everyone has the luxury of being able to install the router in the dead center of their living space.

I currently use an outdoor 20 DBI directional antenna on my 5 year old Netgear so I can get full coverage in my shed and backyard. I also use a 10 DBI directional antenna to point directly at my lovely repeater in the basement. The other port has a loss-less splitter on it with 2x 9 DBI OMNI antennas. I thought to myself: gee it’s time for an upgrade... yeah. A completely utterly worthless downgrade. They charged me more for something worse than my 5 year old router cost back when it was brand new.

All those replacement parts I mentioned (outdoor 20DBI antenna $20; indoor directional 10DBI $5, 2x Omni 9DBI and splitter $3 total for all parts::: for those who can’t math well I spent $28 four years ago when I first got Google Fiber Gigabit Internet to upgrade my router. Now my 5 year old router gives me 450mbps on 2.4 ghz in the shed 100 feet from my house, and 900 on 5 ghz inside the house. On the basement repeater I get around 450 mbps...

Fast forward to today: unboxing day. 5 years later. I open this utter piece of garbage and comparatively it looks like a Geo Metro compared to my Ferrari (which by the way was $120 when I bought it 5 years ago. Cheaper than this junk. I’m not even adjusting for inflation. Even if you add in the cost of the antennas I bought for my old router the cost would be equal. EQUAL. 5 years apart. No inflation added.

I have no clue what I’m going to do with this. I am absolutely furious. Never buy D-Link again.

Bought this to replace a SEVEN-YEAR OLD A/G/N router, also a much earlier D-Link model (the DIR-655).

The new one is far more (physically) lightweight, but who cares? Because it's setup software and "admin dashboard" are FAR, FAR better and easier to use than the old model.

AND (to our amazement), even our home-wide Ethernet network (wired) is MUCH snappier than with the older model. Progress!
We only have Wi-Fi for (frequent guests), but this IS a dual-band "AC" (the successor to "N") model, at "only" 1200 speed, which is fine for the freeloader visiting us. Ha ha. We bought another D-Link because the first one has been SO reliable (it was still chugging along, albeit slowly).

The COVR range extenders are easy to install and work like you wouldn't believe. My first attempt to install didn't work right because my cell service was on in my phone. You MUST turn it off to install properly. Well, that only took 5 minutes to fix and my house and yard were flooded with WiFi signal. House is 2,250 sq.ft. and yard is about 13,000 sq.ft. I can actually keep connection to my mail box around the corner. After I had them installed for a few weeks I realized I could back haul. My house is wired with cat 6 and I plugged a network cable into each repeater. That gave me a big boost in signal and the WiFi signal with any device anywhere in the house or garage is pinned. I never have trouble when I move around the house. The system effortlessly and seamlessly switches from one to the other. With the ease of installation and excellent coverage I highly recommend the COVR system.

This unit worked great when I first bought it but withing several weeks it started having problems. The unit handled three TV's, phones and computer all at the same time. After about 4-6 weeks it started needing to be re-booted every day. finally it got to the point where it couldn't recognize the internet signal from my modem. I used the text service and after several days of back and forth emails they told me they couldn't help. Next I tried the IM method and they quickly decided they couldn't help. Finally I broke down and called and sat on the phone for 70 minutes with a tech before they agreed the unit was broke. I finally have an RMA after three months. Lets see were it goes from here.

I spent five our trying to make it work.
my main complaints were

1)the web interface is terrible. There were times where I would change settings, apply them, and the modem would have a completely different configuration on startup.

2)There's no easy way to run this router with DCHP disabled. I allocated a static IP in my cable modem, set it on this router, and disabled DCHP, items connecting to the router via wifi were unable to acquire an IP.

3)The router is only happy when it's on a different network address than my cable modem. my local network address is 192.169.0.xxxx, and this router would only work with DHCP enabled, and it would create a new network address 192.168.100.xxxx

4)I pretty much gave up on the idea of integrating the router in the local network, so I focus on getting it working on its own network (they only way it likes to work), the first time I ran a speed test I got shockingly fast speed (250mbs/300mbs) but as I continued to test the speed drastically dropped to around 50mbs. the upload speeds never hit their full potential of 20mbs

I would say this router is pretty bad, not enough options, broken UI, and the speed are insanely inconstant.

1. No MAC filter option 2. Suffers from the old "D Link Leak" where have to power cycle the dang thing 2-3 times a week depending on usage even casual browsing min 1 per week 3. Lesser brand Arris router had better WiFi coverage on 2.4 Ghz network. Going through 2 walls my roommate less than 100 ft-direct walking distance- in his room was unable to Maddoen and Call Of Duty without lag-Arris router placed literally inches away(neither running WiFi as same time as the other) he had no lag. Every setting possible setting checked even down to changing DNS servers 4. Admin page timeout ridiculously short and no way to adjust or remove 5. plus side I really like quick VPN option-works great. In summary I was very disappointed at how little D-Link routers have improved over the years and yet brand price tag has sky rocketed

First Impressions: Interface is real basic, not pretty, but the wifi alone is 10x better than the Archer a9 AC1900 and AC1200 routers it replaced. The 1200 was the old one that the Archer A9 replaced. Both TP Link routers dropped connections, wired and wireless, and when working, were slow, slow, stutter, slow. This D-Link DIR 882 is a far better router than the dollars spent would indicate. I am OK with a plain GUI, because the actual CONNECTIONS are what is important to me, as I use my wireless for programming through manufacturer's servers, and bricking a 1200 dollar box is more expensive than a 140.00 router. Nothing I do is gaming like, and probably not bandwidth demanding, but that drop-free connection is critical. The 1900, supposedly with MIMO and better specs, off the bat, was a bigger pile than the cheap 1200 router.
I do use this router with two laptops, one tablet, two cel phones using wifi calling, and 8 ethernet devices, some of them POE cameras, and one of them an ethernet smart TV, so the cumulative data can add up. Remember, this is in a metal building with foil insulation and metal walls with metal vehicles inside, going through metal insulated doors, as well. I do recommend setting two antennas straight up and two sideways. So far, so good, but the improvement is extremely noticeable. I will likely update on long term performance in the future.

What a difference in speed from my old D-Link 655. I really didn't think I would notice much of a difference but Wow it like 4x faster and has so much more to offer as far as setup options and even signal modifying. This was totally worth the money and I feel I got really good value for my money. Where I really noticed the difference was in the speed upgrade to our laser printer. The router totally found the printer automatically and it did not require me to do any configuration. This router was truly plug and play. Just remember to reset all of you devices after the router powers up. The only device that had a little trouble connecting was my wife's first generation iPad. For some reason the only way I could connect it was to type in the IP address manually and it connected. All of our other Apple devices found the router and connected without a hitch. The D-Link app on my iPhone did all the WiFi connection work for me.

Prior to purchasing the DIR-3060 EXO AC3000, my home setup included a Virginmedia Hub 3 router with 500Mbs fibre broadband, a lot of IOT devices, around 30 devices connecting at any one time. Includes Smart plugs, bulbs, hive, home cinema, multiple Amazon echo devices, security cameras along with smart phones, tablets and desktop devices. I also have 2 TiVo boxes, one in the lounge and another in the main bedroom. The environment is a large detached house with ground and first floor. The Hub 3 is in the lounge (ground floor) on one end and the main bedroom on the 1st floor at the opposite end on the house.

The Virginmedia hub was ok but struggled for signal in the master bedroom and the TiVo boxes rarely worked when trying to play a recorded programme from one box to the other. Given the broadband speed of 500Mbs, I had nowhere near those connection speeds in a number of rooms. Connectivity to my IOT devices was ok, never had any dropouts. Due to COVID and working from home, I needed a better signal in my makeshift office (the dining room which is at the opposite end of the house from the lounge (separated by a kitchen and hallway).

Prior to buying the DIR-3060, I bought and returned a TP-Link Deco M5 (problems with Amazon 4K TV Firestick, Ring camera and Sonos units connecting) and a Netgear EX8000 Mesh Smart Extender (App would not correctly identify devices and required rebooting daily or every 2 days). It was important that I had a single SSID and could roam throughout the house on my Tablet and Smartphone which ruled out a cheap WiFi extender.

The DIR-3060 was delivered on 5th June 2020, setup immediately and I have waited a month or so prior to writing this review to ensure there were no problems with devices disconnecting or unreliable service. The device was delivered with v1.01 firmware. My Hub 3 is now in modem mode and DIR-3060 providing connectivity for all my devices. The bandwidth in the dining room increased from between 2-7Mbs to around 350Mbs which is a significant increase in speed.The firmware has had 2 updates and is now running on v1.11.

When I initially setup the device with the default settings on v1.01 I had a problem with 1 Amazon Echo device (I had another 2 identical models which connected without any issues). My Ring camera would drop connections as well. The D-Link support was spot on, I needed to disable WiFi Mesh (I don’t have any extenders anyway) and Smart Connect (which obviously isn’t that smart!). Disabling Smart Connect still allows you to have a single SSID for 2.4GHz and the 2 x 5GHz signals which is what I wanted to have seamless connectivity throughout the house.

A good tip for the Ring Camera is to fix the IP address (Reserve IP - this will only work on the main WiFi SSID and not the Guest SSID). I discovered the Ring fix by checking various forums.

Also with v1.01 firmware I had problems setting up the D-Link Defend (McAfee Secure Home Platform - includes 5 year subscription), it wouldn’t work. Firmware update solved this for me. This is really useful if you have children and want to control what they can access and when. It can also be used to control access for your iOT devices. There is also a real added bonus in that you can install McAfee Antivirus (2 year subscription) on an unlimited number of computers, tablets and smartphones (I’m still running another AV solution and will change when that when the subscription runs out).

A decent amount of time has passed so that I’m confident I can recommend this device if you need to have a decent Wi-Fi signal throughout the house and garden without the need to install Extenders (size and wall thickness permitting). The added security software makes this modern router an absolute bargain. WiFi 6 routers will future proof your network but comes at a premium at the moment and devices with WiFi 6 are few and far between (let’s face it, most iOT devices still only work on 2.4GHz Wireless LANs).

I ultimately returned this router after three days. It kept dropping all of the connections about every thirty minutes. A quick Google search (something I should have done before buying the router) informed me that this is a common problem with this router. Some people were able to fix it, I wasn't. It's possible that I could have changed some settings and fixed it if I had taken the time to do it, but honestly, this router was not worth that kind of time.

Having owned a few different brands of routers, I can say with confidence now that D-Link's user-changeable settings are barebones. You cannot change the channel that the router operates on, so you have to deal with the automatic setting, which may be putting you on a channel that is already high-traffic. Netgear's interface is more difficult to figure out, but allows you to fine-tune your router's settings to your heart's content.

Even if this router worked like it was supposed to, I'd be disappointed. If you're in the market for a good router, it's worth it to spend more to buy a better one than this.

What a difference a proper router makes.

Recently switched from BT to Sky. BT home hub 6 was excellent but the Sky router is terrible.

Tried a Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 router before this and that was no better.

So far this Dlink router has been amazing. No more lag browsing pages on our phones or laptop.

WiFi strength and range doesnt seem that great but it does cover my whole mid terraced 4 bed house so does the job. No disconnects which is what the Netgear Nighthawk was prone too.

If I'm honest, I wish I didn't need this router. Sky should provide a decent router. BT do. But if you do have Sky, this is a must.

Sky router plugs into internet connection on Dlink. Set it to DHCP option on WAN setup (as if it were a cable modem).

Just make sure Sky router and Dlink router are on different IP ranges and also turn off WiFi on Sky router

Nothing worked as advertised. We had to perform at least 15 factory resets as the router would freeze and/or drop all connections (including the admin console). When it would work for basic wifi it had to be powered on/off at least every other day. Maybe we got a defective product as many other reviews were positive but we gave up. I have a day job and it is not network administration.

I purchased this new router because of the inbuilt McAfee protection which covers all of my devices and for the tri-band technology which really helps to manage multiple connections from different devices at the same time. On average I have 30 devices connected and the coverage is perfect within the whole two floor house and in the backyard.

Since I've had the router, despite all my connections, I've suffered very little buffering or video stream interruptions, even when the whole family is in.
This product went beyond expectations from the installation which was just about scanning a QR code and following the guided procedure using the D-Link app. Once it is all set, the app also allows me to check who is connected, bandwidth usage and manage the advanced router settings.

The EXO router can handle the Virgin fibre speed at its best, granting 531Mb download and 36.5Mb upload. This speed is also optimised using the MU-MIMO technology which can serve all of the connected devices at the same time with no lag which is the best I am gaming online.

The setup was actually simple and straightforward. There is a nice app that can link with your router easily enough, although the app's auto-login feature kept getting the password wrong when it tried logging in my phone and sharing it to other Apple devices. That should have sent up more warning flags.

My old router (currently set up again) is a Netgear and uses plug-and-play for multiple USB Hard Drives for personal storage and streaming content throughout the house. It is set up through a simple USB hub, and connects perfectly with few issues aside from long load times when I upload data to it. I had hoped this new device would be just as simple, as it was newer and featured both 2.0 and 3.0 USB plugs.

As you might guess, no.

It recognized one of the multiple hard drives, and only a single folder from said hard drive. Rather than their USB Share being a folder on Windows (or Mac) for the USB hub, it was a Windows Media Center playlist that refused to load in my Windows 7 version of Media Player. Further, setting up any kind of direct links to the two USB drives it eventually recognized out of four, it would refuse to operate properly and instead just ignore my requests. I tried using their FAQs on the website, but they were set up as to insult the user or treat them like they knew not what a "computer" was.

Upon doing some digging, I found out that their share interface uses SAMBA. Not a dance, this is apparently a UNIX system program meant for file sharing developed in 1995, and has no windows support. Any links from the SAMBA website result in dead ends, and it seems like a computer science degree is needed from the same decade to know how any of this works. Another alternative is to set up mini-servers for each hard drive... but only if it knows the hard drives exist. This also does not fix the issue of the missing folders. The router claims to be plug-and-play, but only if you don't mind not having access to your own media or the ability to use it like an actual USB drive.

The router's interface is also primitive and archaic, with even the advanced settings not bothering to actually provide what most people would call "advanced settings." Instead, it goes for form over function, and is merely content to look pretty and do little else. Even my 4 year old Netgear router had better options, and it's almost ancient in terms of computers now.

Frustrated beyond belief, I decided to call up their customer support line. From their website and the router's built-in information, they claim it is 24/7 support. As it turns out, D-Link has magically somehow crammed 24 hours of 7 day a week support into the hours of 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. I am not about to take a day off of work in order to contact these clowns who believe that this is technical support, considering their website is about as helpful as written instructions in Sanskrit.

The router is currently in its original packaging, waiting for the return label to be printed. This router has a great signal strength, and is actually pretty solid if you just plan to use the internet for streaming or gaming. If you bother to do anything else, such as store photos remotely in your personal cloud on a hard drive, do video streaming, or have personal backups of anything on a network, this Router is far from ideal and felt like it was actively working against me in order to thwart what I needed to do.

This is the worst product I've had the privilege of using, and I've made the mistake of buying a launch model Nook Color tablet.

Great wifi Router with great features but cant replace my ISP router completely as no inbuilt modem. Very very smooth set up with the app. Mcafee based protection for all devices. And lot more but Just can not do without modem. So the cable has to come from the ISP modem/router to this Dlink router for the internet. But I am still happy I just moved all the wired and wifi connections to this Dlink router.

At first, I was really dissapointed with the extremely poor performance of this wireless router. Every single firmware ( I even tried with DD-WRT) made it worse; except version "WPA2 Security (KRACK) Patch (1.02B02 BETA)". Don't forget to do a 10 second reset after successfully uploading the firmware to the flash memory. Also, if you're having trouble with webpages not loading images or taking forever to load, try changing the MTU value (take a look at the troubleshooting section of the manual) in Settings>Internet>Advance.

Finally, the UI is too simple, making things like QoS (which is the main feature in a gaming router) way too basic. It also lacks features like LAN segmentation (VLAN), which is very useful when you have IP cameras and/or a NAS.

If you are a gamer and your ISP uses HFC (Cable) Internet connections, don't expect this router to improve your Internet connection by lowering your ping or giving you some extra bandwidth. The only thing that gives you a low ping and low jitter, is being close to the server and switching to a fiber connection (FTTH). Besides, the best for a gaming console or PC is a wired connection, so make sure that whatever network equipment you plan to buy, at least meet these 4 basic requirements:
1. Decent ethernet cables (Cat6 and above)
2. Gigabit ethernet ports
3. High throughput (WAN>LAN/LAN>WAN)
4. Advance QoS features that allow you to prioritize traffic not only by device, but also by protocol or even application.

If you are looking for a solid gaming router, keep looking, this woudn't be your best choice. If you can get one of these at 50% off (I got mine at $72) and somehow you can make it work, then it's alright. It gets the job done for most use cases.

Edit: If you are troubleshooting the missing images, slow webpage loading, and overall lagging; check the color of the Internet connection LED (the second from left to right). If the LED is amber, then there's some kind of problem or limitation with the Internet connection. Try changing the MTU number (in my case, 1500 was the right value). When the LED changes to a green color, the problem is fixed.

So I decided to invest in a new router (dir 3060) after my previous router(t link vr2600) started to play up with my virgin hub 3 as I wasn't getting the speeds I was supposed to be getting with virgin media (m100) using the hub 3 in modern mode
So first impressions it's bigger than I was expecting but it looks quality and well built so hopefully it will last a long time ,the power cord is a bit short for my needs
When it comes to set up it really easy download the app follow the instructions took about 5 minutes to set up
Most of the settings can be accessed through the app it also has Google assistant which is a limit to what you can do with it but it works well once it's been set up
The router itself seems to work great and I get my top speed for my provider.
I haven't had any problems with it at all. It had good range and it handle multiples devices without a problem

Emailed their customer dept to see if they will respond..Yes this router was purchased in used condition and for what is worth this unit cost me days of fright, frustration and perhaps panic mania as it was the culprit of hacking as I had experienced. The frauders knew that I was business banking exact time twice and took the exposed information and contacted me and I fell for it with one of the automated "Did you make this purchase if not hit Yes or No." because the accuracy of the timing and start of COVID19 pandemic.

The dlink site notes firmware upgrades to improve this 02/20/20 on their website which I did not realize until yesterday during COVID SIP when the router stopped working after my hard reset. The tech support clearly did not know how to deal with hard reset and advised that a powering off + pushing on reset hole is as opposed to pushing on the pin while power is on??? and that the router cannot take multiple hard resets (This for a piece of electronics you sell for $130+ on Amazon?).

BEWARE I have gone through and spend days, nights and hours changing EVERYTHING in my life associated digitally and yes there are breaches in security as a whole to due to massive hacking on Experian, etc but this was the last straw for me.

Really happy with this router. Brought this as heard it’s great for parent control and pausing internet (which is great when u want things done around the house). For example I’ve got the boys phone, tab and Xbox under he’s profile and when it’s bedtime I have a schedule that turns internet off for all them devices.
Unlike other routers ive had this one auto selects best Wi-Fi band for that device. Which means u only have to connect to one single Wi-Fi name not 2.4 or 5gig.
We have at least 5 phones and over 20 other devices connect inc echos and motion sensors. We have kids watching Netflix over the WiFi on their TVs and the router seems to cope well and doesn’t drop out.

For the price you really can’t argue and router it’s self looks pretty cool and well built.

Only down side I’ve had is getting it to work with Alexa as I’m unable to login to the skill and keeps saying try again. Maybe after an update this will be sorted and I can just ask Alexa to pause kids internet.

The Good:
Setting up the router is relatively quick and easy.
Speeds on my Xbox and TV (streaming) was excellent on the 5G band.

The Bad:
Any changes made to network settings require a router reboot. Extremely time consuming. If you like to modify and toggle advanced settings on your router this will annoy the hell out of you.
I typically have 8-12 devices connected at any given time. The phone app can take up to 10min to update showing devices recently connected to the network.
2.4GHz band has really poor range. I have a small house and it barely makes it 20’

The Ugly:
Constantly kicks my phone off the network and then tells me my correct password is wrong. Only fix is rebooting the router. If I leave the network (leave the house) and come back it doesn’t accept my device/password too... this is a deal breaker and I had to return this.

 Was an upgrade from SuperHub 2 which wasn't giving the best wifi speeds even on 5G, after the upgrade using 5G my speeds are always good! Also it is reduced from £120 to £50 right now so a bargain! Pages load faster too!
To Install with Virgin Media SuperHub, you plug in an ethernet cable from the SuperHub to the D-LINK Router's WAN port then put the superhub into modem mode and then boot up the router, go to 192.168.0.1 and then configure the router, remember to choose DHCP as thats the only one that works with VM.

Edit: Some months on the router is still holding up, wifi speeds are great and speed is always great as usual from Virgin Media, i usually reboot the modem and router once every week or two to just reset everything to clear the memory and keep it working at top performance.

Verdict: Recommended.

I’m lucky to live in a neighborhood with optical cable, and currently have a 1 gig symmetrical connection on the wired portion of my home network (actually about 940 Mb both down and up). I naively thought buying this router with its advertised 800/1700 dual channels would allow gigabit wireless speeds as well. Nope. The best I can get is 500, and according to my son NOBODY is getting 1 gig wireless to their devices yet. I was also frustrated because the fast speeds only came occasionally, Thanks to DLink’s excellent support I solved that problem; they helped me create a separate network for each channel, so now I have phones and laptops getting hooked up to the 5ghz channel and all of the other non-data intensive devices on the slower one. I’m hoping the advertised speeds WILL actually give me the ability to have several devices getting 500 Mb speeds simultaneously, otherwise it was a pointless purchase (since my old router could give me 500 Mb speeds in ideal conditions). Coverage is average, tests show speeds drop to 150-200 in the corners of my 1400 sq foot upper level, even slower in the basement rooms. I knocked of a star because of this (I know I’m spoiled, most people would be thrilled with “slow” speeds of 200Mb.)
Support was excellent, quick pick up times. I ended up making two separate calls, the results were excellent both times.

I have experience of setting up networking devices since the 1990s but this has defeated me. After many attempts to configure this & failing, I have had to return it. Initial review below still appropriate.

Setting up this device is not simple and technical information is difficult to find, if it can be found at all. Eventually, after a number of failures & false starts, I managed to get this set up & installed in my home office and to get the devices, PCs, printer, tablet & iPhone connected. All seems to be working ok, within the confines of the office but I have encountered a few issues:
1. The wireless security seems to be the insecure TKIP rather than the more secure AES. There does not seem to be an option to use AES. The only way that I know this is a problem is that my iPhone & iPad report the wireless connection as ‘weak’ because it is TKIP. Part of the reason I replaced the previous router was to get better wireless security.
2. I cannot connect to the Admin menus on the router via its IP address, only via the D-Link App, which is quite a flakey bit of software.
3. I cannot access any devices (e.g. printer) connected to this router from other parts of my home network, although I could with the previous router / wireless access point. So, if I need to print something from my house, I have to go out to the office to do so. A possible reason for this is that the D-Link is acting as a DNS Server & allocating IP address in the 192.168.100.xxx range rather than passing through the IP addresses assigned by my main Modem / Router / DNS Server. Since I can’t get directly into the admin functions, I can’t do anything to correct this.
4. It took many attempts to use DLink Defender App. Clicking the Defender button in the main D-Link App tells you to use the Defender App but when you try to do so, it bounces you back to the main D-Link App. After multiple attempts, over a couple of days, it eventually fired up the Defender App. This generated even more confusion because the Home Screen tells me there are things that I should do to improve security but when I click the link to show what these are, it tells me that I am a ‘Rock Star’ & all up to date but whenI get back to the Home Screen, it still tells me that there are things to be done.
5. The paper documentation supplied with the device is incomprehensible, comprising mostly of a series of pictures & diagrams that must have meant something to the producers but which make no sense to ordinary human beings. The online manual, available from the D-Link website covers the complete range of DIR devices but all jumbled up together, which makes it difficult to find anything specific to your device. This also means that you cannot easily print the parts relevant to your model and it is too long to print the whole thing.

Overall, this is not an easy device to use nor to set up, despite the all the claims and the software Apps that are provided are flakey, obtuse, unreliable & difficult to use in any effective manner. The hardware may be good (or not) but it is definitely let down by the software supplied to set up & configure the device.

Not recommended unless you have great patience and are prepared to put up with shortcomings that do not become known until you have bought the d*** thing.

If you want something that just works then you'll probably be okay with this router. Good coverage and what appears to be good speed. However, if you like to exercise any control over your router you can forget it with the EXO AC2600. The GUI options have been severely limited from what previous D-Link routers afforded. It's impossible to get IPV6 working with Spectrum, although the ASUS Blue Cave I tried had no issues. Want to see the network speed of a specific device? NOPE. Like the Smart Connect feature, but would like 5GHz capable devices to connect to the appropriate frequency. NOPE, not if smart connect decides otherwise. How about viewing bandwidth for individual devices? NOPE.

At first I used this with all of the (1 x 2.4ghz, 2 x 5ghz) channels bonded into one SSID, which I thought was great, but it was very unrelliable, a random number of my Alexa's kept dropping connection and only reboots would get them to connect again.

I split into individual SSID's, but find that my 2.4ghz will just stop sometimes, the SSID's for the 5G (both of them) will stop or just disappear from the list of available SSID's, with a router reboot being the only way to resolve it.

Alexa's and smart bulbs just keep stopping working. I'll find 2 or 3 of them every day or so just don't work, having issues connecting to the internet, even one next to the router, yet others are working fine. Samsung TV also on the wifi has issues on both 2.4 and 5

Range of the wifi is nothing special compared to any other router, infact it's no better than a 7 year old reasonably basic Netgear that I replaced with this device.

I contacted support and have exchanged several emails but it's just been lots of excuses saying it's congestion, which is not true, this device is defective. They also asked me to update my firmware, sending me the same version that I already had (I had informed them of my version number 1.02). They also wanted me to do a full reset to install the firmware in a recovery mode, seemed like some sort of canned email as I didn't need to recover my firmware, plus there's a built in firmware update within the routers dashboard. I should have stuck with the Netgear which has always proved to be reliable for many years. I had Dlink in the past and had bad experiences, I doubt I'll be buying Dlink products again.

So I'm just continuing to be ran around for weeks now with this intermittant router which needs to be replaced.

Good for the money but limited settings, and 5Ghz channel is a joke for smart TV streaming video, not able to use it on 5Ghz. Had to use 2Ghz, in order to get 4k videos straming in Youtube and Netfli , in 5Ghz not even get 720p and it lags like an EDGE Mobile data. I have changed the channels numbers and wifi analyzer, also changed band frequency on 5Ghz, but it doesn't improve anything..
If you are looking for a desert dual band router for video streaming don't go for this. Get something better.
Good for regular internet use good signal due to four antennas but that's all.
