Очень плохая модель
- + - Металлический корпус
- - - Рвется wi-fi соединение раз в несколько часов
- Иногда зависает - помогает только передернуть питание
- Скорость соединения нестабильная и прыгает от 0 до максимума во всех режимах работы радио
- В прошивке для России мощность передатчика не 26, а 20 дБм
Постоянно рвется соединение без видимых на то причин, скорость прыгает от 10 до 54 Мбит, радиус...

- + Работает 3й год в пыльном складе под потолком, сигнал очень мощный, такое уже полупромышленное решение. Металлический корпус мощный, работает как радиатор.
За все время работы не заглючил ни разу, перезагружался только при отключении электричества. - - Нет пожалуй.

Брали две точки. Обе установлены на расстоянии 20 метров и 5 стен. Поднял WDS+AP и все работает. Мобильные железки оперативно переключаются, по необходимости, с одной на другую. Правда убил почти час, пока настроил различные виланы для админ-интерфейса и эфира, не совсем логичная вебка, поэтому 4 звезды.
Не понимаю в чем проблемы у остальных, может в недостаточности знаний и прямоте рук? На точках сидят порядка 15 пользователей пару недель, жалоб пока не поступало, правда потребляют только интернет, трафика чувствительного к задержкам нет.
Питание от розетки, но во время настройк?? и испытаний питались по PoE от коммутатора cisco, проблем тоже не возникало. Версия софта 1.10.

Некоторые вопросы по рабте с web интерфейсом настойки устройства.
Ужас! вот первые мысли когда я начал пробовать настроить сей девайс. Купил их 3 штуки. 1- Перерыл все коробки и ни в одной не было PoE адаптера, ни в одной!!!! ну стоит он недорого, почему в предыдущих моделях адаптер клали в коробку, а теперь перестали? Ищи теперь его где хош.

не покупать пока не выйдет нормальная прошивка
- + красивый корпус, удобное продуманное крепление к стене.
- - нет в комплекте PoE адаптера. В работе просто ужасная, очень часто зависает, отваливается физически на точке(не мигает индикатор) Wi-Fi не понятно по какой причине и его надо перезагрузить несколько раз пока заработает. Это все происходит с прошивкой 1.00.

- - 1. В сравнении с DIR 320 сигнал слабже, дальность меньше процентов на 15.
2. Одновременно а двух диаппазонах не работает ни с какой прошивкой.
3. На задней панели нет кнопки...

Не работает в 2 диапазонах одновременно (с последней на данный момент прошивкой 1.21)
Закупил в фирму 3 штуки - 2 под мост, одну на поиграться.
В принципе, неплохая железка.
Пробивает через капитальные стены, бетонные перекрытия с незначительной потерей скорости. На расстоянии в 30 метров с препятствиями получилась скорость 5мБ/с.
На 70 метрах с теми же препятствиями - 2-3мБ/с, рядом с точкой - 8-9мБ/с. Наверно, можно и больше получить, но мне не к чему эту точку подключить чтобы проверить.
Одновременно в 2.4 и 5ГГц не работает. Выбор "или-или". Может потом и поправят в прошивке, но пока что я без понятия как включить одновременную двухдиапазонную работу.
Скорость на внутреннем свитче метров 60 в секунду будет точно. 300 метров уходит буквально за 5 секунд...

- + Высокая мощность сигнала - заявленные 17-20dBm отрабатывает хорошо. На большие расстояния не пробовал, а до 10м с одной стенкой 82-86 Мбит по Iperf обеспечивает. Удобно, что можно выбрать диапазон работы 2,4 или 5,0ГГц. Корпус при работе не греется. Очень порадовал 4-х портовый гигабитный свитч.
- - Ярковаты светодиоды индикации. Информативность логов очень...

Having read soooo many reviews of the difficulties involved in getting this device to bridge properly, I budgeted several hours to get the 1522 up and running. Because I have the DLink 655 router, I thought I would attempt to follow the quick start manual which suggested push button setup. At first, I powered up the 1522 as suggested, saw the orange light (when set in bridge mode) blink a few times, then pressed the auto button on the side of the unit. It did not flash, but I still pressed the corresponding button on the 655. The 655, which was 3 feet from the 1522, flashed the auto button happily, oblivious to the seeming lack of signal from the 1522. I had set up my laptop to receive Ethernet signal only (dis-enabling wireless)and plugged it into the 1522. I then tested the 1522 on my laptop, and sure enough, there was no signal. I read over the push button directions more closely, and it seemed likely that what the orange blinking signal reference meant was to press the auto button while the orange was blinking. To do so meant again powering up the 1522, which took no time. I saw the orange light blink again, then moved to press the auto button once again. But the orange light only flashed for a few seconds. So, once again, power up, but this time with my finger on the auto button. As soon as I saw the orange light blink once, I hit the auto button. This time, the auto button began to flash blue. I then pressed the auto button on the 655, and again, it flashed happily away. Except that I noticed that the auto light on the 1522 stopped flashing and became a steady blue, while the orange light on the front continued to flash on and off. Success?I had not made any additional settings on my laptop, did not change any tcp settings, change any network or subnet codes (the only change I made was to turn off wireless). I then checked the browser, and BAM, just like that, I had a lightning fast connection. I confirmed to make sure wireless was turned off (I was a few feet from the 655, so I had to check). I then opened some software to confirm that there was a new device on my network, and it clearly showed the new DLink device, with no issues. Finally, I opened up the DLink 1522 software (entering the 192.168.0.50 into my browser) and the correct page came up, showing all of the appropriate readings. So much for spending the afternoon!The next test was to turn off the device, then re-power, mimicking the physical move it would soon make to the media room to strengthen my signal to my Sony BDP for Neflix, and my receiver's internet connection (which must be by Ethernet - while the Sony can operate on wireless, the signal has been slow loading up Netflix). When I powered up, the orange light immediately began to flash, another light showed the connection to one of the four ports connected to my laptop, and the laptop Ethernet signal worked flawlessly. For now, no need to re-push button or re-establish, it just worked.Finally, the move to the media room. I was not sure if the signal would be much better than the wireless signal I currently had - after all, the bridge takes the same wireless signal and just outputs it to Ethernet. However, both the Sony and Onkyo receiver are in a heavy wooden cabinet, and this may affect the wireless signal - the 1522 could be positioned anywhere nearby, not enclosed. So I powered up the 1522, noticed assuredly the orange light flashing indicating bridge mode, and attached first the Onkyo receiver. It immediately read the signal as being present, and I happily coasted through the menu offering internet radio, Napster, Pandora, etc. I tested Internet Radio, was amazed at how great a few stations sounded, and tried Pandora. Once I logged on, this too was nearly CD quality (and showed album art on my HD TV).Next I connected the Sony BDP, and walked through resetting this Blu-Ray device to receive Ethernet instead of wireless. It took a few tries, at first not receiving, and then receiving a signal but no internet. On the third try, it indicated a wired connection. I first went to YouTube, and the screen came right into the index page for YouTube. With wireless, it took several seconds to fully load that menu. I clicked on "most popular" and instantly was watching an incredible video of a boat off of Japan roller coasting through the biggest tsunami waves. No little spinning dial (the Sony icon for loading), just instant video. I next tried Slacker, and again, no delay to getting to the menu. The station loaded instantly (again, with wireless there was some lag time), and sounded just as well as the wireless. Of course, these are less demanding sources, mostly for audio. The final test would be Netflix, which in wireless mode takes at least 45 seconds to go from clicking the link, seeing your queue, selecting a movie, then loading the movie. Sometimes longer. The Netflix interface each time lets you know it is connecting, loading, loading and loading. With the 1522, it cut the time

I originally bought one of these (new) to work as a wireless bridge between my router (Linksys e3000) and my DVR/Blu-ray player for streaming media. I had it set as a 5 GHz backhaul device and it worked pretty much flawlessly once I had it configured. I liked it so much that I got a second one (used) for use in my garage where I connected an IP camera and an Arduino Ethernet controller that I could use to open/close my garage. That is where I noticed some specific behavior.Firstly, I currently have the Arduino device programmed as a server listening on a specific port. If I only have this device connected to the 1522, the 1522 will not form a bridge connection with the AP. It seems to require active client traffic before it will make the bridge connection. This isn't a major issue for me as the IP camera was enough of a client connection for the link to work.As for the cameras (I have one connected to each bridge), they had been working flawlessly for many months, being used only as a viewing portal from my smartphone. Two weeks ago I connected a USB hard drive to the e3000 and configured the cameras to also record on motion to that location. They generally do, but for some reason every couple of days my cameras will flash with a "loss of connectivity" indicator. When that happens I can still reach the 1522's management GUI, but for whatever reason it no longer passes traffic through the Ethernet ports; a simple reboot fixes this problem. Both 1522s have done this and they started doing it when I added the recording component to the system, so perhaps the devices are crumbling under the requirement of heavy traffic. I haven't looked yet, but I am hoping I can make a telnet/SSH script to make the device restart if the connection is dropped, but I haven't found anything online about them supporting anything other than the web-gui.So back to the review, for a consumer grade product this is a very good device. I haven't seen any persistant problems with the device for tasks that a typical user would use the device for (such as streaming HD media). However, as tasks get more advanced, the device does have some problems.*Update* I have since found that the problem I was experiencing related to using the port based QoS. Since I disabled that feature, I have not expirienced that problem.

For the past year, I was using this product as a bridge to give ethernet connections to my home theater components (A/V Recevier and DirecTV HD DVR). But moving into a new house with poor Wi-Fi signal to portions of my house caused me to rethink my home network. I ended up buying the Netgear XAVB5004 Powerline Network Adapter to give my home theater components an actual wired connection. While researching new routers to replace my D-Link DIR-655 Extreme-N Gigabit Wireless Router, hoping for better range, it dawned on me that I could switch the DAP-1522 from a bridge to a wireless access point (AP). I already had extended by wired network with the powerline adapter, so I connected the DAP-1522 (in addition to my home theater components), flipped the switch from bridge to AP and now I have better Wi-Fi coverage in my home, which helps for Wi-Fi only devices like my iPad, iPhone, and Roku LT Streaming Player.Before I get into the main negative for the DAP-1522, this setup works. Having the wired connection to my home theater components has proven useful, providing a solid wired connection for streaming audio and video, which appears to be better than what the DAP-1522 was able to do as a bridge. However, the real benefit is having the DAP-1522 as an AP. Since my router was on one end of the house, Wi-Fi signals to the other side were weak or non-existent, depending on the client. As the AP is in a centralized location, my Wi-Fi coverage encompasses the whole house and throughput has increased for those devices that were previously able to connect.Now for the negative. Prior to doing all of this, I reset my router anticipating that I was buying a new one. However, after reconfiguring the router as I was planning on keeping it, I could no longer access the DAP-1522 web interface which I never had trouble doing before. After following the D-Link installation guide and troubleshooting steps and solutions found in random forums on the internet, nothing worked and I was getting frustrated. The DAP-1522 was connected to the network and could access the internet, however I couldn't configure the device the way I wanted. I emailed D-Link Customer Support and have yet to receive a response. Now here's the funny part. All of a sudden I was able to access the web interface by typing in the Static IP address, which absolutely was not working prior to this. I still can't access the web interface by typing <...>. I'm not sure why I had this hiccup, but I am glad it works now, even though I wanted to get rid of the AP just a day prior.

The product worked exactly as I had hoped. Easy setup as an AP. Main wireless router in basement, bought this due to poor range on my second floor. Pushbutton setup was a breeze, then took it upstairs and plugged it in Ethernet jack in master bdrm. Worked great! 3 months later, I get home from a business trip and the power light is red. Unplug and plug back in.... lights blue for 1 sec then red power light again. No where in manual does it say what that means. Tried to resync it with router, the setup button does nothing. Tried resetting the device. Tried wiring it to my laptop to get to admin console, no go. I assume the device is dead. Tried to call DLINK support but after 30 min my 3 year old was destroying the house so had to drop. UGH. Have been a huge fan of DLINK products as had a router last me 8 years til I bought a new one. Upset with this device dying and no way to return it without having to talk to a person...who the heck wants to do that!

Arrived configured incorrectly with a dynamic IP address, so I had a really hard time configuring it. Punching the reset button didn't help, so it was set that way in the firmware. Using the URL provided by D-Link didn't work either. Eventually, I was able to figure out the dynamically assigned IP and reconfigure it correctly. Range is OK for my purposes, but it does occasionally drop the connection, mostly in 5 GHz mode. A firmware upgrade helped some. But there is no excuse for shipping a product which is not correctly configured so that it can be accessed. Not recommended for someone who doesn't know what they are doing. D-Link support is hopeless. So, in a nutshell, it's a mediocre but inexpensive access point if you have some experience and expertise. If not, pass this one by. Oh yeah, the unit arrived covered in invisible clear plastic peel off sheets which cover the vents. I only saw them because of a single bubble in one of the sheets. If you miss them, you will likely cook the device rather quickly. Not trivial to peel off either.
