This is the WORST Canon camera I've ever owned. There is no battery life and I have tried all types of batteries including rechargeable. Last night I tried to take a video of the fireworks. Three sets of new batteries and and 1 set of newly recharged batteries in 20 minutes!! What a waste I've had this camera for a year and this isn't the first time this has happened. I'm sorry I ever bought it. I gave 1 star for color. Thank heaven for IPod cameras.

This was a replacement for a previous Canon digital camera. .My biggest problem with it is that NO ONE will ever use all of the functions,setting etc. It needs an owners manual the size of a phone book to learn to use it. Oh how I wish forthe days of the ol;d 35 mm film cameras where you had shutter speed, opening and film speed setting! WAY TOO Complicated

Excellent camera. I purchased this after previously buying an SX130 two years ago. Both cameras are excellent. Takes great pictures and easy to use. Easy to download to computer.Five stars.

I just tbought this. So far it looks great but can anyone tell me how to use the shutter speed priority? I choose the tv setting and mess with the f 1/500 or whatever but everytime I press the button it doesn't take a picture, just acts like it's going to. Auto mode snaps pictures just fine, but under shutter speed priority it doesn't take. I don't know why.

Had ro return this camera. Very disappointed with the quality of this camera. Photo view on camera screen was very fuzzy, not crisp & clear. Snapped picture came out clear but I am not going to play guessing games everytime I want to take a picture! I've owned Canon camera's before but this one did not stand up to the same quality. The shipping time was great!

This takes fantastic pictures, with an easy zoom. It is a lot heavier and bulkier than previous cameras, however. And you have to manually raise the flash. I'm used to automatic flashes and not having to think about it. But overall, I have been very satisfied. And you can take fish eye pictures (which is hilarious when it's a picture of your dog)

I took it on a trip I went on and for only 2 AA batteries, it last the whole trip. I used the camera everyday and never filled the memory card or had to change batteries. The zoom feature is awesome.

I am an amateur photographer, happy with the quality of the pictures - that I can zoom in or enlarge quite a bit before pixelation starts and ease of use is a huge plus! I confess that I have not read the "how to" yet, that is available should I want to take advantage of all the things this camera can do.4 stars because there seems to be a slight increase in recovery time between taking pictures, compared to other previously owned/used cameras, especially if using the flash. It could be because the camera does appear to eat battery power rather quickly if you need to have the camera on - power saver shuts the camera off, so I need to turn it back on constantly. I try to remember to have good quality rechargable, (AA size), back-up batteries with me. As long as I have them - no problem!The camera is a little larger than the pocket size point and shoot digital cameras, but feel the quality of the picture and options are worth it.I mostly photograph moving targets ;), quilters who tend to be a little excited during show and tell, so it's a challenge to get photos that are not blurry, that can then be used for our newsletter. The Cannon Power Shot SX150 IS 14.1 MP Digital Camera has made that job a little easier for me!

I love this camera for it is not hard to operate and is not heavy in the hand. I have had ones in the past, that were heavy and made me shake at times. Plus the digital is very nice for you can see what you got and if not right can take another while you are there at the place you are wanting a good pic of. Plus it is very simple to operate and easy to understand. Thanks to Canom

Got this for my grandson's big trip through the major national parks -- Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore, the Badlands, Crazy Horse, Bryce, Zion, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, etc. He is very pleased! Videos of Old Faithful, and hundreds of other pics. Great zoom capability! Got a 32 Gig memory card and the lithium ion double A batteries to go with it. This thing appears to have no limits!

We lost our fave camera, a PowerShot A650IS, last year, and was told by Canon online that either the G12 or this SX150 would be the equivalent. This SX150 is a fail. The battery life is short (only 2x AA, not 4), the flip-flash inconvenient (why hide the flash?!), the recycle time after flash is overlong (forget using with kids), no actual viewfinder, the LCD viewfinder does not swivel. In short, this camera is a disappointment and makes me refrain from taking pictures. Let me repeat, this camera is so bad I no longer care if I do not take pictures of my kids.The indoor photos are grainy and have a weird yellow-ish tone to them, even with flash. I cannot determine which of the auto setting are for sports. The grip area is too small for my hands and the camera is too lightweight to have enough inertia for one-handed use. The flash has some weird timing to it - like it does not really read the distances right. If the object being photographed is not in the flash area sweet spot, it does not really illuminate well and the contrast gets all messy.The fixed LCD viewfinder is so large it takes up all of the camera interface on the back, leaving barely enough room for the buttons. I'm sure it contributes to why the battery life is so short. Why do manufactures insist on such small buttons?! Whoever is the marketer or designer that thinks hiding buttons and keyboards is a good thing should be told that a camera is a tool, not their design-school art project. I miss the A650 so much more after having this camera.I used to be a real Canon fan, but the ZR500 camcorder (does not play all MiniDV speeds) and this SX150 (lacking key features) have me less of one.Key feature for us are: AA batteries (yes), swivel LCD viewfinder (no), good recycle time between shots (no), Firewire (no) and USB connectivity (yes), 4-conductor 1/8in A/V breakout jack, image stabilization, good actual and digital zoom (yes), and real-world colored pictures (no), and a reasonable price.2/25/2012 update - was trying to use video recording function and batteries lasted only 10 mins. Was looking for DC in jack, and there is none. Total fail.

This camera was marked at $199. I would not pay that price for it. I got it for $79. For that price it is a great buy. It is not as durable as I had hoped but I like the features better than its higher priced sister. Easy review and delete. Auto flash or manual and takes great pics. Doesn't have a setting for action specifically and have not tried that yet.

i had been viewing this camera since it first came out. for a point and shoot this camera by far out performs my expectations. having the digi-4 prossesor is a real plus for this price of a camera. had good pictures in low light setting without the flash.close-ups were very crisp and detailed. if you are looking for a point and shoot camera at a great price, no need to look any further, just buy it.

Camera is easy to use and takes great pictures. Neither my wife nor I are photographers, but we are both complimented continuously for our great pictures. We take our own pictures of the kids and for Christmas cards and the pictures always look great. We want to buy another Canon like this one.

I really do like this camera, but would have liked it more if it didn't take AA batteries. I have found these batteries don't last too long.The overall camera it's self is great, I've always been rather fond of Canon Product. The quality of picture is great!Anyone that enjoys taking pictures and wants quality pictures, I would recommend this camera.

I have been using this camera for about 6 months and I love it! For the price, it cannot be beat! It has so many features for taking pictures and the quality is great! It also takes excellent HD video and the audio quality is awesome for a camera like this! I've used it for several things since I bought it and it's basically paid itself off.Battery life for a point and shoot is probably average. The more you use it in one setting the quicker the batteries wear out. I turn it off when I can between pictures. I also switched to rechargeable batteries and they seem to last a little longer than traditional batteries.

I purchased four of these for the high school photo classes I teach. They replaced a 6-year old model that we have as they slowly die out. This camera is great if you know what you are doing (manual setting allows you to control ISO, aperture - albeit aperture choice is very limited - and shutter speed) or if you don't and want a camera that will do the thinking for you. Great photos every time and the kids had no problem figuring them out.

This was to be my take-n-run camera when I didn't want to take our big, professional camera. To my surprise, the photos are so much better, even when printed.I take photos for my art work and am completely satisfied for purchasing this Canon.

I bought this SX150 for a standby camera, I already own one and it is so impressive I bought a second one for standby in the event the first one fails for some uncontrollable reason.
