Positive
*The sound is a lot clearer and the bass is a lot deeper. I can turn them up all the way using my iPhone and they do not distort.
*They stay in my ear!!!! I go to the gym 5 days a week and these things don't move!! This for me was worth the price alone. The Dre Tours I had would not last 10 minutes with out having to adjust them.
*Very comfortable. Once in, I don't even notice they are there
Negative
*Not having a flat cable. I wish they had the flat tangle free cable like the Dre Tours. Those never tangled and always stayed straight.
*Double tapping the center button to go to the next track is not as responsive as it should be. More often then not it just pauses the track instead of going to the next.
I have only had them for about 2 months now so I cannot speak for longevity. My Beats lasted almost 2 years and that's with taking them to the gym 5 days a week. Only time will tell with these Audio-Technica's. I will update if anything changes.

These are really fun earphones, the bass is huge and accurate and it doesn't overwhelm the rest of the music. It is only there when the song calls for it. It sounds warmer and has less clarity compared to the ATH-M50, but it has less recessed mids. Another thing I found they do better than the m50 is they give a better sound stage and better separation of multiple vocals and instruments in a song. Great value, they look a lot better than I was expecting too.

I've used several different BOSE headphones and I've tried different Beats headphones, but in terms of accurate sound and bass, nothing comes close to the ATH-WS99. You will hear the emphasis on Bass as soon as you start using these, but it is not overwhelming Bass like the Beats, its just the right amount to give your music some depth and presence. BOSE headphones have no bass compared to this pair. After I used this pair and tried out my BOSE headphones, the music sounded flat and I could not hear any of the fine details in my music. The best part about the ATH-WS99, is that they focus on Bass but they do not neglect the other frequencies, I can still hear the fine details in the music. I can hear musicians counting down, or taking breaths. For best results, I would recommend keeping your music library in high quality files, like ALAC or FLAC, not mp3s. I also use a portable headphone amp, (FiiO E17 Alpen). Just a fair warning, if you do not like Bass in your music, then these are not the headphones for you.

I was very underwhelmed by the base.. its a decent set of headphones with great clarity but I think my tastes involve a little more base.

I use these with a FiiO e11 amp and sound great. Best bass I've heard near this price. I also own pro700mk2 with m50 pads and the 99s sound better overall. More bass, and a little flatter treble but still crisp and loud. My only complaints are that they lack a detachable cord and have wires connected to both left and right, not just one side like the pro700mk2. Still 5 star sound.

Great sound, you definitely want an amp for these, smooth deep bass with very sharp mid and hi's, they are large though in the ear...

Amazing bass if a little overdone, but it is not a problem as I do listen to some hip hop and it works. Mids and highs are great, nothing mind blowing but definitely nice. Looks fantastic.

I own a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50's and an Audio Technica AT2020 USB Condenser microphone, for both of those products I have nothing but good things to say, I would give both a 5/5 rating. However, these ATH-CKS99i's lose a star for me because they simply are too expensive for the quality they deliver. The sound quality overall is probably close to the best you can get for in ear headphones, but for $130 (on sale) I was expecting something that sounds better than my $75 Shure brand headphones. Overall, the headphones are nice and I will be using them pretty much daily, but I feel there are probably either A) Better quality headphones for the same price or B) Headphones of the same caliber for a lesser price. The area where these head phones pick up the slack is how they feel in your ears. Very comfortable

If Audio-Technica is to Crack Cocain, as Dre Beats are to Advil. Headphones are worth it by far. Perfect for Lifting!

Awsome head phone, tried beats, sony and other brands, audio technika is an under dog for the price, extremely confortable to use, never fall out of the ear even while running and sweating.
Very bassy, yet mids sometimes sound too high pitched compared to Audio technica CSK50 and 70s

ATH-ck99i way better than beat and bose
bose are comfortable but the sound still low !

Only thing better than 55ibk is comfort. Sound is almost same. It has deep bass and remote control to take calls.

This earphones are not worth 100 dollars. Maybe 20 or 15, they have no bass line even after EQ. Coming from an audiophile I expected more but received garbage in return. 2 stars because the boxing was legit and sound still came out of them.

as in the title, excellent bass, but not only that, great highs. the only issue is the mids which aren't even really that bad seem to improve a lot with burn in. all in all, excellent pair of hearphones for the price. A little bit large and uncomfortable, however

It had very good technical reproduction of the music, but was slightly lacking in warmth and feel. however, after a few weeks of use, it started to sound much better and softer around the edges.

Being a big fan of audio technica headphones, I broke down and bought these. These are some very advanced earphones in this price range. And these are on par with my audio technica ad-700s audio phile grade headphones. These feature newly developed driver units, they also feature machined brass ring stableizers to reduce unwanted vibrations in turn increasing sound quailty.
The cool thing about these, is they feature an omni directonal condenser microphone built into the cable for phone calls. This is a cool thing to have when you are talking to someone, you will come in crystal clear.
The sound quality for these is very good, very deep bass, high range pick up and crystal clear vocals and instruments. A very good buy indeed if you are looking for a good pair of earphones.

Well exceeded my expectations! Great set of headphones! Very bass heavy with great mids and highs as well! The FiiO E11 amp really brought them to life!!
