I bought this hard drive for an upgrade for my PS3 Slim. Works great and no problems with the installation. For people doing PS3 hard drive upgrades I can recommend putting the latest firmware onto a memory stick. Just google instructions for PS3 hard drive replacement and you should find how to do this. Pretty simple. I also recommend using the PS3 back-up and recovery system if you have a USB drive big enough to back up everything on your PS3. It makes it so easy to get your PS3 back to the way it was before the upgrade. Good Luck!

Works very well in my Fall 2011, 13" Macbook Pro. Should have bought two though, hooked the second one up to an external enclosure for backups.

I bought this product to replace the 250gb hd on my HP Pavilion DV2910us(DV2700) and I made a newbie mistake. The laptop specs states sata drive so I assumed a sata hd replacement will work. Wrong. The laptop has a Seagate hd with a different sata connector. The laptop has protruding looped pins and the drive has slots so to connect, hd is pushed in from the top unlike a typical sata external cases were hd is slid in. I should have opened the laptop first and looked. I'm on google looking for a fix otherwise this product goes back :( and I was salivating about all that extra GB. The product works as I was able to clone my hd.

This hard drive has extended the life of my early 2009 MacBook! I was feeling "stuck" in the computer I had when I learned that the hard drive is as easy to replace as RAM in a MacBook. (I've replaced RAM several times... Easy as pie.)So, for barely over $100, I was able to quickly go from a 160 GB hard drive to a 1 TB drive. My computing opportunities abound!!I used Carbon Copy Cloner (a try-before-you-buy shareware) to create a "clone" of my drive (on an external drive) before starting, and also used Time Machine to back up. I then followed directions that I downloaded from the Apple website to open the machine and replace the drive. After restarting the machine using the clone, I then set up the new drive using Disk Utility (chose "journaled" and "GUID") and the transferred all the files.Haven't had so much as a hiccup.

There's already a TON of great reviews, so I won't bore you with another one. I have an early-2008 white macbook with a 160GB HD, so I wanted an upgrade. I removed my optical drive, got a caddy on eBay for $10, and bought this hardrive.n Total cost: $115. My friend paid $250 for an OptiBay station and drive, and that was only 750GB. The installation took a lot of screwing and unscrewing, but other than that, everything was pretty straightforward. Everything works fine! I didn't see a lot of reviews for non-unibody Macbooks, so here I am to confirm it works :) Enjoy!

Compatible with older SATA cases for hard disk cloning. Makes internal hard disk upgrading hassle free. Easy installation. It works as expected.

I bought this to upgarde my hard drive in my PS3. did a back up to an external hard drive. 5 screws and it went in, then DL the back up and it worked out fine. went from 160g to a 1TB for a little over $100 cant beat that. made me very happy now i have lots of room for movies, games, music, photos, and more. very happy.

My Macbook Pro came with this drive already installed in it, and it was my first exposure to WD's products. I had heard a lot of good things about it from my IT pro friend, and turns out he's right. I have been computing ever since the original Apple II's came out and used a lot of PC's and heard a lot of noisy HDD's, but this thing is super quiet, easily one of the quietest drives I've ever had. It's so quiet, sometimes I forget it's turned on! Performance is good. It's not the fastest thing out there at 5400 RPM and an 8 MB cache, but it's better than a lot of other super capacity drives out there. Internal data transfers are lightning fast, a lot faster than on my 160 GB HP Dv6000, and so far no problems with reliability. Great product for a great price.Pros:Super quietFast internal data transferReliableWD qalityCons:Wished it was faster.

Installed this drive, worked perfectly for a couple days, then stopped working completely and started making weird noises. Lost all of my data. Never buying WD again.Returned it to Amazon and got a speedy refund, so hooray for Amazon customer service.

Beware....The warranty on this product is only 2 years. It states in the product review it has a 3 year limited warranty and in another area of the review it states it has a 2 year warranty. I wrote to Amazon for clarification and they indeed agreed that the warranty needs to be clarified on this product and would forward my concerns to Western Digital. So far I have not heard back from Western Digital if they are going to honor their 3 year limited warranty as stated in the product review.

I'm glad that I purchased this Hard Drive, the shipping was fast. I've installed it in a SONY VAIO Notebook computer. I can only say that 'Western Digital 1TB' worths the price, and is easy to install.If you want to increase the storage of your computer, do not hesitate on getting this one.

Although there was probably nothing wrong with this HD, I could not get it to work for my Mac Time Machine and had to return it. I am guessing I was trying to marry it with a case that was underpowered. I have since bought a backup drive specifically for Mac (c/w case and software at the same price, from Amazon) which works fantastically. That's what I should have done in the first place - and saved a lot of frustration.

I bought this drive a few months ago as an additional drive for my MacBook pro. I replaced the DVD super drive with an mce technologies tray and this drive. It works great. The fit was perfect and so far no worries. I double checked the warranty with western digital and i have the full 2 year warranty. All in all, a great experience

I bought this hard drive to put in my sons PS3 he has an original fat 60gb backwards.It fit with no problem and everthing else was so easy any one can do it.1TB PS3 THE BEST!!

Two years ago, I purchased an HP dv6t laptop to set up as a Fedora Apache Web Server. At that time, I was cautious about Fedora and compatibility issues, so I "settled" for a mere 500GB hard drive. I've grown more enthusiastic about Fedora, and I decided to upgrade my hard disk capacity to 1TB. I feared that the Western Digital WD10JPVT would cause a severe performance degredation, since it is "only" 5400 RPM. Fortunately, I have not had any performance problems with the hard drive, and the extra disk capacity is great. The new hard drive was easy to install under Fedora, and I have been using it now for a month with no problems. I am a hobbyist who uses the laptop as an Apache web server, and I occasionally perform mathematical calculations using Maxima. This drive is more than adequate for my needs. I have had no problems with noise from the drive.

I bought it to swap my dvd drive in my laptop with this HDD using HDD caddy.It worked great, what I like about this HDD is that it's fast,thin (9.5 mm) and has a big storage capacity.
