ALL I WANTED IN A HARD DRIVE WAS SPACE FOR ALL MY PICTURES AND VIDEO'S OF MY GRANDCHILDREN. IT WILL TAKE A LONG TIME TO FILL THIS ONE. GREAT PRODUCT FOR A FAIR PRICE! THANK YOU. PLEASE ASK AGAIN IN A YEAR SO I CAN GIVE A DETAILED WEAR AND TEAR.

I bought this drive specifically to upgrade my PS3 slim 320GB to 1TB. The drive fit perfectly and was easy to install. So far it runs whisper quiet in the PS3 and I could not ask for more. After researching drives for the slim version of the PS3 I thought this one was a good value and it has not disappointed. Now it is just a matter of longevity, hopefully the drive holds up for a long time.

I was worried that this was too sketchy to try on my own, but with the help of some youtube help, I was able to make the install and it has run great for the last 3+ months.

I rarely write reviews but wanted to help others from the upgrade disaster I went through. I spent many hours of Time Machine, System Install, etc. upgrading my 2009 MacBookPro from a 500GB WD Scorpio Black 7200RPM and noticed very frequent spinning beach balls. Each time it happened, there was a 10 to 20 second delay and it seemed to happen all the time. (The WD Scorpio Black had beach balls seldomly).I thought the drive was either defective or just a slow perfomer, and considered returning it and getting the faster 7200 rpm WD Black 750GB or Hitachi 750GB drives. I read through their reviews as well and came across the issue where Apple's Firmware EFI 1.7 causes issues with newer/larger internal hard drives. I downgraded to EFI 1.6 and no more beach balls! My Mac seems just as fast as the day I got it.To check if you have EFI 1.7, go to System Profiler and click on Hardware on left hand side. Boot ROM Version MBP53.00AC.B02 = EFI 1.6 and MBP53.00AC.B03 = EFI 1.7.You can read more about this downgrade and the symptoms it solves here:[...][...][...]

This works very well for my ps3. In fact, it is one of the few (maybe the only one) of the 1tb drives that is both the correct speed and thickness to work. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a ps3 looking to upgrade their storage space. It is also a good idea to consider using a digistor usb ps3 backup to backup your old hard drive first.

Used this HDD to up my Playstation storage from 120 GB to 1 TB, flawlessly I might add! If your looking to upgrade this is with-out question the best solution considering the price range of internal HDD's.

I installed this on my 2nd drive bay within my HP Envy 17. Working alongside a Maxtor Hybrid drive, this was just what I needed to increase storage capacity on my laptop. Highly recommended.

If you are looking to upgrade your PS 3's hard drive, then this is a perfect drive for the occasion. 1 TB may be overkill for the time being but for the cost of this hard drive, it is a reasonable cost for the price of never needing any additional storage for your PS 3. This drive fits easily inside the case and quickly formatted and updated itself with no issues.

Works for my HP Pavillion Laptop. And most hard drives are loud. But I this one isn't very loud at all. Good Price and I upgraded it from a 200gb to a 1tB. If I needed another one I would buy from this place again.

I used this drive (WD10JPVT) to expand my Playstation 3 capacity, and fit and worked like a charm! The another similar model (WD10TPVT) does not fit.

For the price, it had great capacity and it fit in my Mac Mini. It is my media server and having all that internal storage makes it great for sharing across a network. Wish it was 7,200 RPM, but for the price and capacity, you can't beat it.

Easy install in my unibody macbook (2008). Runs nice, a tad slow sometimes, but it's the biggest hard drive I could find that would fit the macbook.

This hard drive is NOT FOR PS3. i have the 120 slim and bought this for the extra space. within 2 days it stopped working, constantly rebuilding database and file system. i exchanged it for another one just thinking i was unlucky and got a defect. i received the replacement and it worked great, for 2 weeks. same problem as 1st hard drive. this hard drive CANNOT handle the ps3 for very long. if u want a bigger hard drive for ps3, look elsewhere.

Took my laptop from 320GB to 1TB. Great! Drive seems fast enough for the movie editing and rendering that I do. I suggest also getting one of the data transfer kits that Amazon offers - it will make cloning your hard drive a snap.

I wanted to upgrade my Asus laptop witch had a 540gb drive, but I was dreading the conversion or reinstalling of all the software etc. etc. etc. I noted that Western Digital had software that would allow you to easily migrate the current drive to the new drive. Received the drive, it booted up, I enabled it in Windows, used the WD software, and a few hours later I have a 1 Terra byte drive running. I separated into 2 drives, but that was later.Works great in other words.

This hard drive performs well enough in a laptop, comparable to the original drive, but it has double the space which makes it perform better (not constricted in space for the virtual memory file, etc.) Good price too!

Installation was super easy in my slim PS3. The set up, while it took quite a while, was simple. Hard drive works great and now I have plenty of room for all my music, videos, and games. Excellent purchase at a great price.

I bought this to pair with my MacBook Pro's SSD as a Fusion Drive, and installed it in the optical slot using a hard drive caddy I bought here on Amazon. It fits great, of course, and I've never had a Western Digital drive fail on me. Now my laptop has a capacity of 1.25TB!

No problems with the packaging, while it is sparse for such an expensive item. The drive works great, exactly as you would expect it to. For the price, it's quite possibly the best 1TB laptop hard drive you can get.

Product works as advertised. It will accept about 100 hours of video and has working fine. Hard drives seem to be extremely reliable.
