Took three attempts to clone my old hard drive. The software provided by Western Digital Acronis True Image WD Edition, would not work to move the data from a Toshiba OEM drive to the new drive.Very frustrating process.WD support was lacking.

Purchased the drive to get a few more years out of my Sony Vaio. Fits like a glove. I've been using it for about three weeks and no issues, may be even a little faster than my old drive. I used NTI Echo and a Vantek Nexstar case to clone the old disk to the new, watched a youtube video to learn how to swap out the drive in the Vaio. The whole process took about an hour an a half. Mostly waiting for the disk copy. Pretty easy. Now I can hold more stuff.

I wanted to upgrade my laptop from a 500 GB to a 1 TB drive and the price was to to hard to pass up. When it arrived I cloned my 500 GB to the 1 TB and within 3 hours I was up and running. The drive works perfectly, runs very quiet and best of all has a lot of extra hard drive space. The product was exactly as described and was delivered very fast. Very happy.

Installed it into my Alienware m11x the moment I got it. It works perfectly, I'm typing this review from the OS that's on it, and the browser installed on it, etc. On the drive, it says stuff about a special partitioning tool, but don't worry about that. Windows' built in Disk Management tool works perfectly, I have 7 partitions and 150GB left over. It does exactly what I need it to do.

Purchased this for my early 2011 macbook pro. I had 300gb and was running low. Decided to go big with a hard drive. Had to purchase an external case to reuse my 300gb hard drive. Installation is super easy. I cloned my old hard drive to the new one and it took about 4 hours. Once I did that I just swapped the hard drives and everything was good to go.

I bought this item in late August, got it in a less than a week which was great. Installed quickly and formatted fast. It's now the beginning of January and I am getting this error:Port 1 : WDC WD10JPVT-00A1YTOS.M.A.R.T Status Bad, Backup and Replace.Press F1 to Resume...So I am currently backing it up and will try to reseat the connections and reformat the drive. Then I will be in contact with the manufacturer, because this is not good and I hope they can resolve with at least a replacement drive.

This replacement hard drive fit perfectly into my Acer Aspire 7540 17" notebook computer. Installing it required removing about 9 screws from the bottom of the notebook and snapping out the bottom cover. I then removed 3 screws holding the original hard drive cover and then removed the HD by gentle tugging back and forth. This new drive plugged right into the vacated socket, the aluminum cover was replaced along with the 3 screws, the bottom cover was replaced and I was on my way. Before installing this new drive into the computer, I used the CMS Data Transfer kit CMS Data Transfer Kit For Notebook Hard Drives DTK-25U2 (Silver/Grey)and its supplied software to format the new drive and to make a clone of my old smaller drive. Please see my review on the CMS Data Transfer Kit. I now have what seems like unlimited storage and the computer looks and acts just like before the upgrade.

OK, I'll get this out of the way right now, this is a 9.5mm drive and therefor it will fit inside every standard laptop known to man, unlike the older 1TB WD Blue that was 12.5mm high.This laptop (a 5-year-old HP DV6xxx) with a fresh Win7 x64 installation feels downright perky and the overall "feel" is not THAT far off of what the very same laptop felt like with an 80GB Intel 320 series SSD for typical usage like office apps, e-mail, web browsing.The biggest benefit of all is the cavernous size of this drive.If you do not really need this much space today, then save your money and pick up something smaller, faster, and cheaper.This is also an "advanced format drive" so if you are running some flavor of XP you will have to run the WD alignment tool available at their website.

When I swapped drives partitioned it I got bad sectors and corrupted. Laptop said it was corrupted netflix group-share/ Itunes all ran into troubles. It has bad sectors. I did lots of tests. my other hard drive worked fine. I cant get this one to work. Is it possible its not compatible with my computer. Other people did not have problems at all. I got 2009 window 7 i7 , 6 gb ram

This hdd offers the best quality and the highest storage space for both kinds of ps3 (since the hdd slot is the same size for both). Another great feature is that thanks to Western Digital's low power consumption technology, you don't have to worry about your ps3 heating up, since I upgraded my old hdd for this one I can assure you that my ps3 heats less and is quieter than before, you just have to ensure that the disk that you chose to upgrade your unit runs at 5,400 rpm or less and has 2.5 inches of size which is the laptop standard nowadays, but if you do not want to complicate your life, just buy this one and it will surely fit, making your ps3 a new 1tb beast!Also, remember always to make a backup of your profiles and data on your ps3 via backup utility in the xmb. By experience, I recommend that you clear the most space you can from your ps3 (remember that you can always re-download any content from psn) and make a backup when you have 40GB or less on your disk, otherwise, prepare yourself for a backup/restore process that can take up to 6 hours if not more, and when this process exceeds the two hour span it tends to fail.Hope this helps!

Worked like a charm. Popped out the old 120GB drive from the PS3 slim and inserted the WD 1TB drive in the system. The system formatted the new drive and now I have ~700GB of storage available. So much space for cheap!
