I love the way my new hard drive works. All of my downloads are simple and fast. All of my music, school work and pics easily loaded up on this hard drive. Its way much faster and lighter then my old seagate clunker. Its even fallen off my desk a couple of times. Amazingly it still works. This thing really is shock proof. I don't know what the other reader was saying about it not being light. I'm 120 pounds and its light enough for me to put in my purse or backpack. I guess maybe he needs to switch breakfast cereals or something. It may not be as pretty as some of those shiny ones at best buy but it out does all of them. I love it. This one is a keeper.

So far, so good. Easy to use, even tho I have an iMac and needed to reformat it as a Time Machine backup for the Mac. No problems, and I like its small size.

This is a great hard drive for the price. I got the 500gb and it backed up all of my music (300gb) and my system back up it took about 3 hours to do so which is pretty good. It doesnt get to hot either like some hds. It nice and small about 1/2 and inch bigger on all sides. It only needs a usb cord so it makes a great portable hd. I use it to dj and it works great. Highly recommended.

After reviewing as many portable 500GB drives as I could find on the net, I decided on the Transcend StoreJet 25. I'm convinced it was the right choice. The drive is fast, quiet and consumes a minimal amount of current. It's a great travel companion for my laptop and digital camera. There has been absolutely no problems connecting the drive with my XP and Vista systems. I have not, however, made use of the included backup software. The only negative point is a minor one; I wish the included USB cable was a little longer. Great product. I'm absolutely satisfied.

I really like to purchase Transcend products and own a couple of their well crafted flash drives. Alas, I could not pass this beautiful and ample hard drive by. It was nicely priced and well manufactured. You can not go wrong with Transcend. This little baby is a plug and play. Nothing to install. As soon as I plugged it into my pc, it was recognized. You can never have too much storage space. I will be using mine to store digital photos.In addition, this hard drive is the size of my hand, which is a medium female hand. The hard drive is small and compact. Keep in mind it is 500 gig, so it is not the smallest external drive you can get, but it is quite compact all the same.If you need to store videos, music, or digital photos...this one is for you.

I've never given 5 stars before, but this deserves it! I took 2 of these on a recent 3 week photo shoot - one as main storage and the other as a backup - as I was using a netbook (with lightroom). They worked great! No external power needed and easy to use.

this HD is great for travel. it is small, just the right size i wanted to travel with. it is also drop-protect so it won't damage that easy. now i don't how good it is on the protective part of it, but it seems to be very light weighted and the material is strong against damage or drop.

I used this portable hard drive to backup files from an old Windows2000 Professional machine for transfer to new Vista laptops. The unit plugged into my USB port and was recognized immediately and files were easily saved onto the unit. Then unplugged the unit from the old machine and into the new machine and transfers between the external drive and new computers were hassle-free. The unit is lightweight but also tough. I did not drop it but I'm sure if I did it would continue to work. I will continue to use this unit to backup all of the data on my new laptops, and recommend it as a cost-efficient means of file backup, storage and transfer.

Portable hard drive is reasonably intuitive to operate and easy to install. Software for backups is a little obtuse with limited help material available.

After my less than 2yo WD hard drive died with all of my music, pictures, etc...which, of course, could not be recovered, I wanted a sturdier hard drive. It is about a third thinner and much smaller for less. Plus, the 'anti-shock' will hopefully keep the drive working for longer. And I love not needing a separate power cord. So far this little guy has been the envy in the office and has done all it needed to do, travel on a bike, back and forth from home to office every day. I have not used the software yet, but it seems very user friendly and helpful, another thing my old WD was missing completely.

It is llight and attractive looking. The software is bad with some characters in english and some in chinese. Software does not allow more than one user. regular copy past of files of your files from another hard drive is possible but some files gave cyclic error while it did not on other drives. Hence returned this

I have been using this drive for some weeks and I am very happy with it. It's fast and very quiet.The software has failed sometimes when syncronizing files, but the Outlook back ups are well done and useful.After backing up the Favorites folder, my favorites entries lost the icons and some stop working, and had to be deleted and set again. Otherwise everything OK.

For the money, this was perfect for my needs. I know I could have gotten more storage in an even smaller unit but,hey!, can I really complain about getting all of my primary computers backed up on something smaller than half-a-sandwich? Nope. Perfectly pleased with this one.

The Transcend Storejet TS329GSJ25M has performed well as expected, as advertised, and as other reviewers have written. The quality construction, the small size, the reasonable price, and the overall functionality are very good. My only complaint is with just a USB connection the transfer rates when backing up files makes for some long waits. A firewire connection would be nice but one can't have everything.I would definitely recommend this product to others with the caveat of the speed of the USB connection.

After doing numerous reviews on portable hard drives, i settled on this transcend 320gb. could not have picked a better hard drive, i've had transcend usb flash drives before and now of their good quality, but i love this hard drive for its ease of use and it plug and play(ability). The anti shock is also a nice feature, not that i'm planning on dropping this item any time soon, but i'm glad its there just in case.

This is a plug and play unit. Very easy to use. Well built and doesn't take up much space. Does not require a power cord. Portable... can be taken it anywhere. Very reliable!

Bought two of them. Nice that they are USB powered. Seem to be as fast as anything that I've had plugged into separate power sources. Portable with good capacity, and they don't force you to look at or carry around power cords.

For under 100 dollars, this is a fantastic hard drive. It's got a nice silicone covering on the outside of it so it won't slip and is easier to handle. It was plug and play in that I didn't have to install anything special on my parents lap top, they just plugged it in and it was immediately recognized and they began transferring tons of pictures to it with great speed. It's been military drop tested, so I know it's reliable and it's size makes it an easy fit into any briefcase, backpack or lap-top bag. It's 2.5 by approx 6'. USB cable was included.

The product arrived quickly from Amazon - so far works very well. I love the mobility of it since I share it with two laptops and a desktop. Data access is quick, and I haven't had any problems connecting/disconnecting from each computer.

This External HD, is awesome, quite, fast enough (USB), the Sync software works fine,its resistent, reliable. If you want an external HD best price/quality this is it.
