With the experience that I have had with my new router I give AMAZON (4 STAR) and TP LINKS costumer service ( A & 5 STARS). The router is great once you get it configured and TP LINKS costumer service took care in helping me with that problem.The range and the signal is very strong to all the computers (4) in my home. Of the 150Mbps I see a steady stream of 120Mbps and that is with all wireless adapters, so I think that is good for an average.This is a great upgrade for my network and I see an inprovement the first day.The TP-LINK TL-WR740N 150Mbps is a GREAT router for the price. Buy for you and a friend you both will like the inprovement that you see. THANKS AMAZON!

It did not work with any of modem.My brother in law is a computer expert, he said it does not work withmodem. I could not use it, so I returned it.

I bought one of these to replace the aging Linksys 802.11b/g router we had. Worked great and handles our 30mbps cable internet just fine - never had to reset it or anything. Netflix and tons of online games had no hiccups and we use 100+GB/month. Also, it can run DD-WRT. I wound up buying a second one to install in another home and it's been solid for months.If you have a larger home (2200 sq ft. or more) I would suggest a different router only because of the range. I wound up removing DD-WRT, but it did let you increase the transmit power.Moral of the story: When people want a new router, I'll buy them this. Under 40 bucks for reliable wireless N? Call it done.

I was hoping to have one of the positive experiences associated with this router...however my set up efforts went the other way. After numerous attempts using both the CD enclosed and manually via user manual instructions...I could not get the wireless aspect of this thing to work. I believe it to be a defect in my unit but am not willing to waste another 3 hours of my life on this product so, will search for another router to try.

I could not be more pleased with the easy install and operation of TP-Link 841. I used the install CD and in 10 to 15 min. had my whole system working.

I have not had any issues since setting this router up (1 month ago). Security options are good, setup is fairly easy. Price was great value!I have not messed with Parental Controls, so this feature is untested by me.I have had only 1 issue - heat. This thing puts out heat! Keep it by itself (don't stack anything on it or under it) and you will be fine.Great router, Quick & Secure setup.

The connection (esp. wireless) started to drop after 2 months of use. I would need to restart the router. It's hard to set the scheduled blocking of my kids computers. You would need to block all devices including internet TV, iPad/iPhone, etc.

I've owned several wireless routers over the years (D-Link, Netgear, Linksys), so I have a reasonably large pool of experience against which to compare the TP-Link WL TLWR841N, and I am very impressed. In the two weeks since I set up the router, it has performed flawlessly. For the money, I don't think you can go wrong.Because of my experience with other routers, I went straight to 192.168.1.1 for set up rather than use the mini-CD that was included with the router. Of all of the routers I've set up, this was by far the easiest. The online help was clear and straightforward, so I was able to set up all of the features exactly as I wanted them quickly.After the initial setup, flashing of the latest firmware and rebooting of the router and my cable modem, the router has performed without a hitch. I have one computer that is CAT-5 wired to the router, and I have had the opportunity to use the wireless feature with my laptop, which also has the 802.11n spec that the router does. Transfer rates were usually in the 150 Mbps range and the signal strength was good throughout my admittedly small apartment. I don't know how good the signal would be in a larger space.I would expect the sort of features that come on this router to set me back at least $20 more than what I paid for it. Given its excellent performance and ease of use, it easily earns five stars.

I have had this router for about 2 months. It has worked better than other routers I have owned. I am giving it 4 stars because it has dropped off line 3 to 4 times in the past two months. It rates a 5 star against other routers but 4 stars for dropping off line. Unpluging the router resets it very easily. I would recommend this router.

Used along with 2 TP-Link TL-WN822N 300 Mbps High Gain Wireless N USB Adapter with 2x 3dBi Antennas in multiple locations throughout the house. Setup was very simple, created connection perfectly and speeds as advertised. Recommended for n network. Still working very well after several months of use.

I have a problem with this wireless staying connected-every so often I lose my connection and have to reestablish it. Don't know if it's my computer or the router causing it. It happens when I'm typing often.

Very easy to upgrade to DDWRT and I like its small footprint. Signal strength is superior to my older Netgear router and so far the signal has been very reliable with no outages. With the flexibility of DDWRT this could easily serve as several different devices including wireless bridge and network extender.I use this as my primary router with Comcast and could not be happier with the value of this item.

So far the router has worked very good. It was very easy to install. It had everything required for the installation in the box. I have only one computer so I am not sure how would it work with more than one. But for one computer, I have not had any type of problems like loosing connection. It has a really good price. So far, very happy with the router

I found the instructions easy to follow and had no trouble installing this myself. I'm pretty comfortable with computers but am hardly a technology genius. I've been using it for about a month and have had consistently good connections throughout my home.

I bought this model to replace my old Air-Link wireless n router and this works perfect. I was not recieveing an Internet signal in my room, even though in my previous residence my room was farther away and I could recieve a good signal with ease. Well all of the sudden I kept losing the signal with my laptop until I got closer to my router. Ever since I purchased this product I have had no problems whatsoever. Great buy I would highly reccomend it to someone looking to have a good Wi-Fi signal throughout your home or office.

I bought this WR841N to upgrade from a Linksys WRT54G router, but I found that it was very slow on download. Using the same ISP, antenna & ethernet bridge, I got the following results with these 2 routers:...........................WR841N............... WRT54GDownload .........0.5-1.5 (MB/s) ......2.5-3.0 (MB/s)Upload............. 1.4-1.5 (MB/s).......1.4-1.5 (MB/s)I had a similar slow download problem with a AIR802 AP-G200 when used as router.

It took me almost an hour hooking this up to my AT&T DSL line, but it was worth not having to pay $100 for the one they were selling. After I figured out how to bridge my DSL modem and get all the user settings right it works great. I wish the instructions were more helpful and the CD is basic and you really have to know all your modem login, password, blah blah blah internet geek stuff before trying to tackle the install. Also, if you have AT&T don't call them for help they will just complain that you should have bought theirs and you will have to figure it out on your own.

It was very easy to hook up with excellent signal and it has never been lost the internet connection for over a month now. We are using the wi-fi for our kindle fire, laptop, iphones and Roku without any trouble. I love it! I would rate it at six stars, not five.

I have owned and used Linksys and Dlink wireless routers previously. I looked at the TP-Link because of the good reviews and I'm glad I did. My friend's Linksys was getting to be erratic and I bought the TP as a gift. It was easy to set up and delivered much better range than the Linksys ever did. It has delivered rock solid connections throughout the entire house (1500 square feet, one story). The unit is not optimally located being in the front bedroom along the front wall but still offers good connections in the diametrically opposed corner of the house. Did not upgrade firmware. Excellent value and great price. Very impressed and happy after a few weeks use.

Excellent Wireless Router - It arrived on time and packaged so nothing moved and everything was secure. After it was turned on it auto connected with the Xbox and the laptops with no problem. It has a decently long range for working, and it is very fast. I am very happy with this and I would recommend this router.

Once set up, the unit works well. But the initial set up process took hours, partly because some of the instructions in the manual did not match what we were seeing as we went through the steps outlined. We were pleased with how quickly it arrived.

This product worked well without the installation cd. I would highly recommend contacting your Internet provider and seek assistance installing this if it is the first time to install a wireless router. I would give it a 5 had it been easier to install. It works great but the instructions on the cd are over 112 pages and can be confusing to a newbie! I am now wireless but still confused!

Got this up and running with little problem. Could browse the internet with my laptop just fine but then... I tried to connect with both my Roku box and my Wii. Ugh!! Apparently, this brand of router does not work well for this. I had to talk with Roku support several times and change this setting and that setting on the router but to no avail.. would never connect to the network. Went to the store and bought a Belkin router, installed it.. no problem at all connecting to my other devices. This is going DIRECTLY back to Amazon for refund.
