Used previous model for 3 years with no problem. This works nice as well.The only disadvantage one cannot assign the same IP for different MACs, so ethernet and wifi from your laptop must have different IPs. Not very convenient for integrated home network.

Easy set-up... Works just as I wanted it to... Has not "dropped out" one time since I installed it...Has long range capabilities... My neighbor down the street came by and said he picked up my router and noticed it had security set up on it... I said it sure did and I suggested he get one for himself...

Don't waste the extra cash on any other brand. I've owned them all at one time or another (admittedly, not their newest cuz I bought this).Simple setup, the UI is easily the best I've seen, bar none, and it's been rock-solid. What else do you need to know?

This was the first wi-fi unit I've ever installed at home, and I was concerned it might be migraine time. Not so! The TP-Link TL-WR841ND comes with a mini CD that basically carries you through the installation process. One caveat; I couldn't complete the process until I powered down my cable modem and powered it back up (I found this out by looking at the Windows error message. I wish the manual has said something like "You may need to reset your modem." Oh well). Now that the TP-Link TL-WR841ND is up and running, I'm very pleased with it. I have a nice strong signal for my netbook and my smartphone throughout my house. I looked at a lot of wi-fi routers before I picked this one, and, for the money, you can't do better.

I ordered this router to replace my old G router. The low price did concern me a bit, but since the reviews where mostly good I gave it a whirl. I could not be more pleased with this item. The setup was a snap and it works flawlessly. I get a strong signal all over my house and outside patio and my Roku Box is now loading its content fast without any hick-ups and reloading during the movies. I have recently ordered another one for my work home in Seattle and it works just as great. This is a fine router for the price and I can recommend this to anyone. Thanks also to Amazon for offering this item with a fast delivery.

I don't generally review products but this one deserves kudos.I had a WiFi G router and it just wasn't doing the job anymore, between Laptops, desktops with no ethernet access, blackberries, and now a new Roku player, we needed a wireless upgrade.As some other users mentioned, I just went with the manual install, no CD. Just go to 192.168.1.1 and you can click Quick Setup. There were two minor blips--one is the auto-detect tried to say Static IP but the correct option is Dynamic, so just selected that manually, no biggie. The second was I had to reboot the Cable modem. After that everything worked smoothly. I named the network the same as the old one with the same passkey and none of my other devices even needed any updating.Done. The whole process took 10 minutes and the connection is so much faster all around. By the way I live in a big high rise with lots of networks in range, and the interference is probably relatively strong, but the router is handling it beautifully.I also bought a TP-Link 300Mbs usb wireless card and that worked just as quickly.

I bought this router to replace a buffalo router that I had for about four years. This purchase showed me to never go away from something if it works. First off the installation disk is a mini cd that cannot go into my macbook so I had to set everything up manually from the website which took hours because I had to continuously reset this tp link router. It drops connections sporadically so while watching netflix HD shows went to standard def every couple minutes, I've been signed out of playstation network over a dozen times in the last 24 hours because of this router also. I bought this product solely on the customer ratings when I should have went with what had already worked for me in the past. Don't make my mistake, stick with what works and prevent the headache. I'm returning this router to amazon immediately.

I have had, belkin, Linksys, dlink etc over the years, all the so-called big names and this TP link blows them all out the water, Trouble free and inexpensive to boot. Maybe the big guys should take a look at themselves for they're overpriced junk. Have a good day.

I bought this router to replace an ancient Netgear b/g model. The old one worked, but was limited to 54MBPS and had limited range. The setup on the TP-Link was very easy - hook up the components per instructions, run the CD and I had no problems at all. Installation took about 10 minutes once everything was unpacked and plugged in. I used maximum security settings. I also have TP-Link wireless USB adapters on both of my computers, which I have had for about six months. I get 150MBPS connection speeds with both of them, and signal strength is good to excellent, even between floors. All in all, good experience, and assuming the router has good long term reliability, I would have no problem recommending to someone else.

I have had different wireless routers at home, but my last one a Netgear 300N, it broke after 6 months of use. I decided To buy a new one since I was not impressed with the wireless download speed. connected speed was about 30MB/S, however when I checked speed wireless from about 6 feet, speed came down to 18 to 20 MB/S, and from the second floor of my home was about 15 to 18 MB/S. now with the TP-LINK router it is a different story, the set up was easy, downloads speed are about the same wired or wireless from any place in my home. I am getting about 29 to 31 MB/S on my 3 computers, 2 computers with N wireless y one with G wireless. I would recommend this product

Good product!I used netgear 300Mbps wireless router provided by comcast. The signal is not so good in one of my rooms(farthest one from the router, other rooms are good) and my roomate complained about it. That room is 3 walls away from the router.I bought this TP-Link router because it has external antenna. It provides much better signal. And at the same time, it is much cheaper than netgear.Con: It does not support third-party firmware(they provide many extra features like fine-grained QoS). It does not support IPv6, just like most other routers.Overall, I think this router is worth buying. You can't expect a "perfect" router for such a low price.

Setup was a breeze and the wireless connection is great. Live in a 700sq feet area and the connection is down to 4 bars in the farthest corner of the house. Looks good so far (1 week) and hopefully will continue to perform.Update Jan 2012: Still working great and no complaints. Getting another one for a friend.

My first review. Was moved to take the time to write due to my issue named below.I consider myself a very techie oriented person. Set up many routers before. After following the instruction and going through the "easy and advanced setup" several times I was unable to get this router to work.I called customer support at least 6 times at different periods of the day. To not avail. And they said "busy call later" every time. Information on their support site was not clear for my issue. Tried two different cable modems to connect to, etc. Says this product works with Macs and PCs, my mac easily logged into the setup menus. I have a Macs and from the reviews I read others said the setup was easy. Well it wasn't for my system. So it goes back. Thanks to for Amazon's easy returns.TP-Link I suggest that you manage your phone customer support better so the auto message doesn't go into "sorry all lines are busy call back later...dial tone mode. I guess a lot of people are out there like me having issues with your products hence why your lines are jammed. Hope you work it out....until then you lost one customer.

Great router TP-Link TL-WR841ND 300Mbps Wireless N Router - I purchased two of these at an excellent price. They have great signal strength, are fast and easy to setup. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this item to anyone.

I've been using this wireless for a month and it works fine. Sometimes the wireless router is automatically down when I watch streaming videos from the Internet. I'll then have to reboot the router occasionally.

The router now sits in the corner, and I almost forgot about it. The reason - it just works with no issues so far.It was easy to set up, it automatically found all the right settings to connect to my cable modem (once I figured out that I needed to power cycle the modem after I connected the router to it). I manually changed all the WLAN security settings to use an advanced encryption. Similar to the previous reviewer, I did not use the installation CD.Now the router pairs nicely with a laptop (WLAN N) and a desktop (using another great TP-LINK product - 150Mbps USB adapter TL-WN722N). Desktop reports 150Mbps link all the time (about 30 feet distance), and so far I experienced no dropped connection, despite having many active WLAN routers around my apartment. During installation, I looked for the least used WLAN channel and set the router to use it.I did an extensive research to find the best moderately priced 300bps WLAN N router before choosing this product, and so far I am very happy with my choice.

I bought this unit to expand my wireless coverage in my home using WDS. It hard to beat this unit for the price. One warning about this router... Select a security option and don't leave it set to "Auto". If you do, you will have wireless signal drops. It has all the router bells and whistles and will give good wireless coverage.
