The drive is very solid, and according to to other reviews both here and at newegg, the drive seems like a great drive. However, once connected to the Wii (it is recognized), but I get all sorts of random freezes, that I don't get with any other drive. (WiiFlow and USB Loader) Now, this is probably more of a problem with the Wii compatibility with this specific USB controller than it is a problem of this drive, but either way it didn't work for what I needed, and thus am returning. I wanted a more rugged drive since I may be lugging it around back and forth between our house and cabin, but it looks like that's not going to happen.

I bought this external hard drive to add memory to my laptop primarily to back up photos taken during an extended trip. The hard drive was "plug and play".....no issues in getting it to work on my Windows XP laptop. Seems very durable as promised.

For about 2 months the drive worked as adverstised-quiet, fast, reliable. Then I started to notice some of my auto backup programs were reporting errors. Turns out the drive has a real problem being recognized by the computer and decides on its own schedule when it can work and when it should hide. I've done everything from check the driver to the cables to the USB drivers. I've used both USB 2.0 and 3.0. I've switched cables. Everything is working except the drive. Will make a nice conversation piece as a mug coaster.

I paid the extra money over a regular HDD due to its tough mil spec. I recently bought another mil spec hdd from adata and the silicon power beats it hands down. It looks better and it uses a regular usb cable instead of that dumb proprietary cable that adata uses.

I've previously owned an older, bigger/fatter External HDD a long time ago. It actually had less memory than the Power Armor. (500 GB)It wasn't very good, it needed an AC adapter, was very big and clunky, very fragile, and was like $90!!This Power Armor on the other hand, single-handedly defeats any older HDD by a landslide.1) sleek design--very aesthetically appealing2) sleek design makes it very compact3) no need for an AC outlet/adapter-- it simply plugs into the computer (windows or mac) and plays4) huge amount of memory5) power armor makes me feel confident in bringing this baby along with me on my video making travels, because it's so durable :)6) comes with short male-to-male usb cord AS WELL as a long (6ft?) male-to-male usb cord.Overall, perfect. $130 almost seems like a steal.(These aren't stolen External HDD's are they?)

Received this item on 8-20-2012 and have used it to transfer files & photo's to a new laptop. Largest download was 250MB+ in one shoot. Everything has gone very well, and the USB 3.0 cable that is stored in the side of the drive enclosure has worked just great when connecting to our laptops. The extra cable will come in handy when connecting to a desktop in my office.No Cons !!Bought this from Amazon because, you don't have to worry about shipping charges, or returns, because the item did not work properly. Amazon always has had me covered, and that is a great comfort when things don't go as expected.
