This is my first Nintendo DS and wow what an upgrade from a Gameboy Advance. I decided to invest in on and couldn't decide at first which one to buy. The Dsi or the DSi XL. I ended up buying the XL but I still have my doubts about it. The screen is HUGE! I was really unsure (un-use to the pixilation size) and decided to keep it for a while. After playing on it for a couple days, I decided that it was WORTH it! The screen is nice and easy to touch (especially if you lost your pen) as well as being very bright and vibrant. I would not trade this for the DSi especially when I was tried one at the local store. I have no problem with it so far and everything including the sound system is awesome. The picture quality is a bit poor, reminds me of the old camera phone. Other than that, I would recommend for people who likes big screen and extra room for your hands to grip. I am a petite girl and watching the videos of the DSi XL being held by guys was casting doubt on wether or not if it was too big. But in fact, it is perfect. :)

Nintendo delivers yet again with a DS update. How many people remember the old semi-bloated DS Phat? Then we got the DS Lite, which made it sleeker, slimmer and iconic. With the DSi, we get a massive change, with an all-new interface, DSi exclusive software, a faster CPU, and a pair of cameras, in addition to an even smaller form. Sadly, it comes with the loss of one of my favorite DS features, the Slot-2, which enables GBA play and a few cool accessories. If you've got Guitar Hero On Tour, you won't be able to rock in public anymore. That's the only serious flaw I have with this system. Time to pack up the GBA titles. Emerald, I'll miss you...

My 6 year old got his old DS stolen - so he received a new DSi XL for his birthday. He loves it! He has no problems holding it, using it, or with screen clarity. The only problem he has is keeping it away from his 10 year old sister who now wants one for her birthday! The kids don't really care about the brain age games, but they do love the camera and all the photo/sound programs that come built in. I also bought the Dsi Xl Nerf Armor - which is key because it has a spot on the bottom to clip in the extra large pen that came with the DSi XL. Would highly recommend this toy!

I bought this for my 9yr old daughter who wanted to upgrade from her DS lite & this system is awesome & so much better than the older styles. Both my 9yr old & 5yr old love these gaming systems & have taken them everywhere with us.

I got this for my 5 yr old daughter for Christmas and she hasn't put it down all day! Her and her Dad have been fighting over who is going to play next..lol I was trying to decide when buying if it was worth getting the XL or not but I can tell you I am so glad I did!! It is not big and bulky like others claim that was my main concern. My daughter went from a Leapster to this and they are about the same size when closed. When open the screens are a really good size and the graphics are good!My daughter loves the camera on it that is probably one of her/my favorite things about it. Overall we are very happy with it and glad we went with the DSI XL instead of something else!

My grandson has had a DS for several years, and I decided to purchase the DSi XL and exchange it with him for the DS so my husband would have something to keep him busy on a cold winter night (he likes playing card games on the GameBoy, but the screens are so small and the back lighting is not good for our old eyes).When he opened it, he was immediately pleased with the large bright screens, the camera and photo manipulation, and the music playback. He has played with it constantly since and his endorsement is "it is very, very, very, very good." We were all very pleased with the purchase and my granddaughters are each asking for one for their birthdays.

My son saved up his own money and purchased the DSi XL. He loves it. The bigger screen is much better than the older version. The price was great and the store was close so shipping was fast. Thanks for making my 10 year old a happy boy.

I have had a DS for about 3 years. I got the original "phat", and I got a DS lite a year later. When I heard about the DSi I said "What? Another one? Nintendo...!" I skipped out on it. I was going to skip out on the DSi XL too (because of the 3DS), but when I saw the Mario one I had to have it. It's pretty great! I'm having some trouble with connecting to the internet, but I had the same problem with my DS lite. The DS is huge, I read it weighs more than the DS phat. It doesn't feel heavy though.Mario Kart is a great game of course. No complaints with it at all. I've been playing it non-stop.Overall, it was a great update and I'm very happy!

This point card is a great value for your money. There are several great games on the DSi Shop for only about 200 Points (2$). The only thing I would have liked, is that the card should have been made of Plastic instead of Paper. This is fine, although if you try To scratch off the code covering with a pair of Scissors, knife, or any other blunt object you may cut or scratch the card, making the card unusable. This is why you should make sure to scratch with a penny, or any other coin. Other than that one aspect, it is a great addition to my DSi's library of games.

I had DS-lite before and I must say: bigger screen is better! Stylus is very comfortable too. Color is also very nice.

I have to admit, this is my first experience owning a Nintendo DS but I am in love. The humongous screens and vast array of titles make this worth every penny. I love the fact that it came with Mario Kart and the two Brain Age titles. I am also quite enamored with the very nice pictures both of the cameras take, and the fact that the device records and edits voice as well.I would recommend this to anyone looking for a DS! In fact, after seeing mine, several coworkers have ordered themselves one.

I will keep this review briefPros-The large screen alone is worth the extra money-The built in camera is wonderful for kids-The software included with the DSI XL is fun and educational-Battery life is better than I exspected-Larger stylus is a great feature-Who does not love mario cart??Cons-Only one, cant play GB or GBA games (most of which are updated now for DS anyway but I miss my old Zelda games!!)SPEND THE EXTRA $20.00 !!

What more can be said that hasn't already been said about the DSi XL. It's a great system that is portable, I hear a lot of complaints about the battery life, but we have not had any problems, the battery lasts about 8 hours or so and my child really enjoys playing it. Downside with most Dsi's is that the Game and stylus are small, you can easily lose both. The DSi does however come with a large stylus.I would highly recommend this system, unless you are saving to buy the $299 3DS.

As long as you can connect your Wii to the internet you can't go wrong with Wii Points. With so many virtual console games to chose from it is fabulous.1000 Wii points equals $10 and you can buy a whole game, I bought the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, easily a $50 game for 1000 points. Also bought Paper Mario for 1000 points as well. 2 full, great games for $20.Perfect gift for anyone with a Wii.

he is thrilled, he takes it everywhere... but it was very disappointing it won't recognize his ds mario party cassette. this is his favorite one and works fine on his original ds.

I got this today at Target and its grt. Its my frist ds and i love it. If you want a dsi xl, BUY THIS ITEM!!! its a grt deal. I cant say how thrilled I was to buy this. I'd waited forever to get a ds and now I have it.It comes w/ everything you need; a wall charger and an awesome game. The only problem is that it wont fit in your pocket, but then why are you putting it in your pocket and not playing it. I came home and played for about 4 hrs before the battery ran out. BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got two of these during Amazon's Black Friday Lightning deal. FREAKIN AWESOME PRICE & no tax, free shipping(I <3 U AMAZON!!).Got them as gifts for my niece and nephew -- the same color -- and they STILL fight over the DSIs....This gift is a guaranteed hit among kids and even adults (I had to scold my bf to return a DSI XL to the kids - he just kept commenting on how nice the big screen was)Even though the 3D one is coming out soon -- who cares? just get both :)I highly recommend the DSI XL

Santa bought my 6 year old this for Christmas. I was a little hesitant in him hanging an expensive game system at his age. But he loves it. He enjoys using the camera and other features of the game. It shipped quickly and thus far we have had no issues with it. I am vary happy with this decision. I recommend this to any other parents that are not substituting this game with quality time and parenting.

This one is an upgrade for me since it is replacing an original DS system. I enjoy the larger screens and the larger size. The image is a little pixilated, but I got use to it pretty quick. It would be nice if they had increased the number of pixels and not just made them larger. Being able to adjust the screen brightness is a great feature. Now able to dim it at night in a dark room and brighten while out in the sun. Overall I love it.

This was purchased for our younger son to the chagrin of our older who has a Nintendo DS. The DSi has many great upgrades over the DS model. If you are making a choice between the two, I would get this one since the extra bucks are worth it.We love how this DSi has some games already loaded onto the system. Having five games pre-loaded is a great feature since sometimes cartridges are forgotten or don't work properly. You get: Card Games, Suduko, Brain Age Arts & Letters and Brain Age Math. Only Suduko is rarely played. You also get a camera, sound, option to play via wifi with others, chat forum, Nintendo browser, and Flipnotes (to keep notes). More importantly, you get the option to set parameters for their usage with parental controls. I love this feature!The camera and sound has proven to be the most used of these features. My son loves to take photos and distort them. This has proven to be a great way to keep him occupied during long trips. You can store several photos but not a whole bunch.This model is a mat white and gets dirty very easily but we use a cover so it stays good as new. This color was a cheaper option so it was a bargain.I highly recommend the DSi for hours of fun. I find myself grabbing it when I know I have a long wait ahead of me. As we have a young child, we do not use all of the functions this model provides (it would be better for older kids) but we still love it.

I bought this for my 7 yr old daughter for Christmas. It was shipped SUPER fast and even though I ordered at the very last min. it showed up a day earlier than they said! My daughter LOVES it....way too much! I don't have 1 negative thing to say and I'm sure my daughter wouldn't either, she is thrilled this was under the tree!~chinamommy

I purchased the Ninendo Dsi XL for my son who is 11 years old. He has many hours of entertaining, educational fun and best of all it keeps his brain active. You see my son is a TV junkie. He will sit in from of the Tele for hours watch mind numbing cartoons that are in my opinion not at all educational and which should in my opinion not be shown to children. The Ninendo Dsi has changed all of that and now when he is not on the sports field he is "training" his brain. Brilliant! what more could a parent ask for?

I don't typically play video games, but when I saw that Nintendo released a Super Mario Bros. 25th anniversary edition, I had to get it. The bundle comes with Mario Kart DS, which has very beautiful graphics for a handheld console. It has a gorgeous large screen, and it comes pre-loaded with Brain Age Express, which I love.
