Very happy with the product.I've bought two of these devices to build a wireless bridge to the media room to feed TCP/IP to DirecTV DVR and Popcorn Hour NMT. The bridge works flawlessly, and is very fast at ~200Mbit/sec. I also run a MacBook Pro off the access point part of the bridge over 5GHz wireless-N with stable connection and no issues whatsoever.The device is well designed, with nice touches abound. It looks stylish with piano black finish on the sides and clear lucite panel in front, and fits nicely on a typical book shelf. There are two Ethernet ports in the back so if you have only two devices, you won't even need a switch on the bridge end. The genius touch is that you can turn off all LEDs on the box, including both front panel power/traffic and rear panel port status LEDs, so there is no annoying blinking in a darkened room!I understand that the lack of wireless-G and 2.4GHz range may be limiting for some people but I don't have this problem.

This piece works just fine, I was going to buy it from Best Buys but after talking to one of their representatives and he metioned that he had one and it was and has been very good and durable for years, my next move was to order it used at a reduced price to receive the service quality of a new one! I am not disappointed!

This product is by far the worst wireless adapter I have ever used. From day one this thing was trouble. It all started with the installation drivers be way out dated and the connection was only 54mbps. After updating that problem was solved. Then the real trouble started. At totally random times my computer running Windows XP Pro would report "USB Device Not Recognized" and the adapter would not work at all. On two seperate occasions I was able to fix the problem by eliminating the extension cable (included with adapter) and the second time I simply plugged the adapter into another port on the cpu. Finally when the same problem happened for a third time (over a 6 month span) it completely refused to work. I even tried installing the adapter on a different computer and got the same "USB Device Not Recognized" message from Windows. I have the Gigabit Wireless Next Router and the Wireless Next Laptop Card and have had absolutly no problems with either of those two products only this piece of junk. AVOID AT ALL COSTS OR YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!!

It does what it needs to do with no fuss. Very good coverage in the area it needs to cover. I particularly like the switch on the back that turns off all of the LEDs, which allows this thing to completely disappear.Because it's 5 GHz only, it might be a problem for some users. The 5 GHz signal will simply not penetrate the 12 - 18 inch thick adobe walls in the original part of my house. In my case this is fine, because I bought it to cover the frame addition which got a barely usable signal from my 2.4 GHz wireless router which lives in the adobe part of the house. Fortunately, I had thought to run Cat5E when we put in the addition, so the necessary hardwired connection to the front of the house was already in place. For my needs, this animal is perfect. It does what I want it to do, and you'll never see it unless I point it out.

I should have written this review right after installation, it would have been more helpful to y'all. But here the skinny. The thing has been working like a champ for the last couple months. The kicker is the setup.Just like one of the other reviews, when I initially set this thing up, it would connect and then disconnect, back and fourth. Very nightmarish. I did *not* try to call the company, so unlike those people who had trouble with the support, I can't comment.I wish I could remember exactly what the key was to solve the problem, and I'm really sorry I cant. This is what I do know. I've setup a number of wireless AP's in the past and thought I knew what I was doing: bad idea. After the problems, I went back to the beginning, read the manual all the way through and then started from the beginning. Oddly enough, the thing worked fine. I know there was something the manual had me do which I had failed to do during the initial attempt, but I don't remember what it was.Upshot is, I love the thing. It's fast, it's up, and I don't have to deal with it ... ever. I paid $105, it's $89 now. I'd have no trouble recommending this thing.

THIS ROUTER HAS HAD SOME BAD REVIEWS, BUT I HAVE ALWAYS HAD GOOD LUCK WITH NETGEAR IN THE PAST AND THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE IT A TRY. SET UP WAS SIMPLE JUST LIKE PREVIOUS NETGEAR ROUTERS. THE RANGE IS GOOD AND THIS THING IS FAST. THERE WAS SOME INTERFERANCE ISSUES WITH THE 2.4 GHZ PHONES IN MY HOUSE THAT CAUSED SOME MINOR LAG WHEN THE PHONES WOULD RING, BUT I HAVE NOW REPLACED THE PHONES WITH 6.0 AND THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED. I CAN RUN 2 DESKTOPS, 3 LAPTOPS, AND THE XBOX 360 AT THE SAME TIME WITH THE WNR3500 AND RECOMMEND IT. SO FAR I HAVE NEVER LOST CONNECTION OR HAD TO RESET IT. GREAT PRODUCT. YODA APPROVED.

While replacing my miserable Skybeam service and going back to Qwest DSL, my biggest apprehension was the quirky and problematic ActionTec modem provided by Qwest. Well, the Netgear DGN2000 is a great answer to that. The modem setup quite easily using Qwest's CD via the "Other Modem" option. I have found it quite full featured for a consumer router, including 4 configurable wireless access point names.

I had this router for over two years and it ran flawlessly. Never any problem. Netgear was also great about customer support when I had a little trouble understanding how to set it up. They talked me right through and I had it working in about a half hour.The router even outlasted my laptop. Unfortunately, I ended up replacing it with a desktop and no longer needed the router.

Suposed to be easy to set-up, HA ater 5 hours and lots of phone calls have put back in box and up on the shelf. Maybe someday someone that is a computor master well visit and I can ask them to try and set it up. Don,t want to spend $75 an hour to have a local expert do it.

This is an incredibly difficult product to review.The good:It works exactly as it should. It is a 5GHz N wireless access point. It's product description states exactly what it is. It's range is enormous. I can still detect my home network from halfway down the street. I never get disconnects. It is really, really fast. In network transfers are just as fast as cat5.The bad:1. It's not a router. It's an access point. You don't have much control of the devices behind the AP.2. It's 5GHz. There's not a lot of stuff that operates at 5GHz. Make sure that you look for products that say "dual band".3. There's no 802.11b or g support. It only supports 802.11a @ 2GHz and 802.11n @ 5GHz.So, if you take out those three things - NONE OF WHICH IT CLAIMS TO BE - then this product is great.My final review is a (3). The things that it does, it does very well. But you will probably be disappointed because of the things that it does not have.

to create a Repeater/extention with 2 WNR3500 the trick is to have a lower number than 6 for the channel.

Bought this for a small office. We host a mail server and VPN server and use a moderate amount of bandwidth. This router cannot handle it. With the firewall enabled, it simply gets overwhelmed and will crash or reset the WAN every hour or so. Avoid unless you are positive you have very light usage requirements, and frankly if that's the case you could get a much cheaper, lower end router and be fine. Honestly, there is no target market that this router satisfies and it should not exist unless they are going to upgrade the processor/memory and/or fix the software issues which are limiting its performance.

Yeah, it was a pain in the !@#$ to install, and the poor tech guys from India took a long time to figure out the problem (I also experienced the frequent re-boot problem), but its been working rock solid since then for almost 3 years now. I only reboot if the power goes out. The range is why I baught it, much better than the competition at the time, although I'd guess there are better products available now. I'll keep using this until it dies, since mine is very quick and still has good range. I also used VOIP successfully for 2 years without a hitch.

This product has great features and easy setup, along with plenty of ports to connect to (8) which is especially good for a home network with lots of connections. Problem is that the interface seems buggy and sometimes the system does not respond to changes (i.e. mac address access list additions) without rebooting. Sometimes the wireless network drops out entirely. Not too often, but often enough for me to look for another more stable solution. I'm doing web development from home and have vonage ip phone where a stable internet connection is a must.This review is based on the v2 version of the product.

I just purchased this router for a 3,000 SQ FT. restaurant and it wourks great. However, the installation was painful. I tried to use the Installation Wizard and it kept erroring, indicating the router is not compatible with th hardware. I had to manually setup the router, spending over 1 hour with the technical support team. Do yourself a favor, call technical supoort early in the troubleshooting effort and you will save yourself a lot of time. The great news is that the speed for paging on the internet is WOW and I have not had any dropped connections. My customers are loving the speed and stability too!

After several sessions with 2nd level Tech Support, I could not get this product to connect reliably. If I mess around with it, I can get it to connect. But then if I power it down and reboot, it fails to reconnect...

Love it! Upgraded from a Netgear B, then G, now this is my N. Using with 2 MacBook Pros(using N), 1 MacBook(N), 1 Mac Mini(N-at the far end of a 2 story house(perfect signal), 2 Dell Laptops(G), 1 Other PC Laptop(G), Playstation 3(G), Wii(G), and the occasional friend or family dropping by. Everybody works great.

Luckily, the particular one I prchased presented me with: a Constant Once per Second BLINK from the POWER LED. The Installation Guide refers to this as a "CORRUPTED FIRMWARE" issue. You are then refered to a "Reference Manual" and given a link to Netgear Support, that's a DEAD LINK by the way. The Support Site was down for several days. (yes, I tried the site from another computer with proper internet access and the Netgear Support site was still down)FRUSTRATION LEVEL: HIGH NORMALSo now Tech Support would help me, no? Dialed 1-888-NETGEAR, ring, ring, ring, ring, and on and on...... Hello? Nothing. In the distance, the AP BLINKS IN GREEN ONCE PER SECOND.Wait! The Netgear Support site is up! So let's try the search for the "Reference Manual", copying the exact name of the needed material from the Installation Guide. OK, good, hit search..... 11,000 search results, none of them involving the "Reference Manual" in question.FRUSTRATION LEVEL: HYPERTENSION 1So let's call that Tech Support number again.... Yes! An automated system, and here we go off to TECH SUPPORT. Or not. Somebody is talking about their lunch and mentions they need a sweater, and they hang up.So let's try again. OK an automated system, and again off to Tech Support. This time, a good solid affirmation that I made it through.... Yes hello Raam, nice to meet you. We then get through the formalities and alas, I can tell somebody about the constant Once Per Second Blink from the Power LED.They promptly mention they'll need to find the "Reference Manual" needed for "EMERGENCY RECOVERY" of the AP. I'm placed on hold, and then I'm informed that the "Reference Manual" is nowhere to be found. So I thank them, and hung up the phone.FRUSTRATION LEVEL: HYPERTENSION 2However I DID FIND the PACKAGING MATERIALS for the item, and ceremoniously unplugged the AP. If the Once Per Second "CORRUPTED FIRMWARE" Blink is still signaling, It can do so @ the FRY'S Electronics next to Burbank Airport.Caveat emptor, Caveat emptor.......

I have purchased not one, but two NetGear wireless routers in a little more than two years. Conveniently, both routers bit the dust shortly after the one-year warranty expired. NetGear's business model appears to be based around shoddily made goods, and they're betting that the suckers who buy them will pony up the cash for customer service, or will, exasperated, give up and buy new equipment. Either way, it seems insane that anyone should have to replace their router every damn year.

I received this antenna shortly after ordering it. It works fine. I was somewhat surprised that no installation disk was provided but I was able to download the necessary drivers from the internet and am very pleased with the result. This anetenna has to pick up a signal from about 300 feet away and the signal must travel through two window panes before reaching the antenna. It does a fine job. The only thing I notice is that the antenna does run a little hot. I guess this is normal.

The router did not setup easily in my case. Netgear support was surprisingly good and the setup cd has the options to configure the router properly. BUT unless you're very experienced expect to spend more than an hour configuring your unit's security. There is no written setup documentation with the device.My unit has been working great (once we made it through the setup and configuration) for a couple of weeks. I am concerned about the ventilation. The unit runs hotter than others I have used before (att standard equipment and linksys). Hopefully, it will have a reasonable life. It's speed and signal strength are excellent.

Without wasting a lot of words this Router works as advertised. Securing the net was a little tricky as the CD program did not work on my computer Vista 64bit. But like every other router I have had before doing it manually was not a problem.The Wireless-N gigabite router works great wireless with my laptop and itouch.I am very satisfied so far after a couple of months of operation it has never had to be rebooted. It seems to have a larger area of coverage them any of my older routers and when running on N it is vert fast, I connect my main computer wireless through this router and it is faster than when hardwired on large downloads.So I like it very much, and I even forget it is in the line, because it is so trouble free. This router seems a step above the cheaper basic units I purchased before. It costs a little more, but perhaps it worth it in the long run.
