it says 3g & 4g, but I do not see in compatibility lis any 4g devices + it doesn't work with mine one lg vl600, called customer support: some say it's supported some say not and will communicate it to headquarter...NEVER will buy netgear devices anymore

This is a very handy and useful adapter. It took a little doing to get the right drivers installed, but after that, It works great. With my "N" router, I get 144.5Mbps. I use it for my old computer in another part of the house. I get good reception. Recommend this as a cheap and easy wireless connetion.

The [ASIN:B001GF4SME NETGEAR DGN2000 Wireless-N Router with Built-in DSL Modem]]works fine. My daughter and husband had trouble setting it up because they were impatient. I walked my daughter through the set up on a phone conversation. Piece of cake, router works great.

I bought this router to upgrade from a Linksys B router. I read some reviews and they said the setup part was a headche but I set this router so easy I couldnt believe I was already hooked up to the internet.

I had no problems with the unit until about one month ago. Then, all the wired ports stopped working. The wierd thing is, the computer shows it connected to the router, creates a network map, even showing it connected to the internet. No such luck. The router interface shows the wired desktop to be connected, along with the network printer. But, it's apparent that it's not communicating - pinging showed negative results. I will buy another router.

I was a bit skeptical after reading some of the reviews posted but after a lot of research and seeing both good and bad in every router/modem combination I decided to jump in and buy this one in an attempt to to solve my AT&T DSL disconnection problems. I am really glad I did now! I did not attempt to use the software disk but downloaded the software directly from the manufacturers website, plugged it in, and all was good. If you have ever set up a router before this will be really simple as setup is very basic. The only problem I had was when I set it all up it did not "see" the DSL connection. Problem easily solved by simply unplugging the phone wire from the wall, (including the DSL filter), waiting about 10 seconds, and plugging it back in again. Best investment I have made in a long time! I stream Hulu to my PS3 via Playon, iTunes tv shows to my Apple TV, and share music and videos to 3 laptops, a desktop, an iPhone, and and iPod Touch. This thing has amazing speed! No more video streaming issues or connection problems! As far as heat, I have it sitting where it gets plenty of air and keep room temperature about 72 degrees and it is just barely warm to the touch! No heat problems here! I am very happy with this product. I am running Windows 7 on all computers and all my devices (including PS3 & Wii System, are running "N". My oldest laptop is about 3 years old. You can get a lemon in anything. The production lines still run on Friday afternoon as well as Monday morning but this is definitely a winner for me! I have had it over 5 weeks now and still going strong!

I ran a small office out of my home and this Netgear wireless DSL modem router was extremely easy to set up. I even have my network printer installed on it. It helped my DSL connection work more efficiently than my old setup. Now my laptop, Kindle, and my DVR can access the WiFi and any visitors that I have that have WiFi capabilities. It does a super job for the price. I would recommend it to my friends and colleagues.

Purchased this model for my HP laptop and found it incompatible with my current laptop and unable to download drivers to update to new System Windows 7 had to replace this model. Otherwise, it worked with older versions of Windows as a wireless router. Also, it being a refurbished model, no tech support is available to get the code hid inside this model and not displayed on the outside of this product to get assistance with functionality. Paying the extra for driver disc and tech support is well worth the extra investment.

Basically stops responding, oh, whenever it feels like it. Sometimes after a day, sometimes after a minute. Lights are still on, nobody home. reboot router.After jumping through major hoops to just get *access* to the support forumns (which, by the way, are community run, not official support), I saw the several threads about this issue. My old Netgear router (non VPN) worked fine. This one, not so much.(yes I'm patched up to the latest firmware)

I got this product to replace my Cisco-Linksys WRT54G2 Wireless-G Broadband Router which also I had purchased from Amazon. The cisco router was absolutely useless as it kept dropping connections, so I had to replace it. This netgear router is excellent and reliable though. Since I purchased a refurbished item, I was contacted by the seller to update the firmware, which I wasn't able to do successfully. The product still works without any problems whatsoever and has been working for more than 2 months now.

This router works okay for devices that maintain their wireless connections, but it is terrible for things like Apple laptops or game consoles. About once a day, the device ends up in a state where nothing can connect to the wireless connection. Anything still on wireless will continue to function, though. I've tried everything from changing channels to turning off Wireless N support to no avail. The biggest laugh was the last firmware update promised more reliable WiFi. My final solution is going to be to throw this garbage in the trash and avoid netgear products like the plague from now on.

Worked great when I got it and works really well in the Winter when I keep it in my pantry that's the same temp as outdoors. As soon as the weather gets warmer the dgn2000 overheats and my connection speed plummets. A lot more work than it's worth.

For less than the price of a regular modem from the phone company I got this modem/wireless router. Its really easy to set up (took less than 10 minutes) and it works great. I've got a desktop (via ethernet), laptop, & xbox 360 (both via wifi) hooked up and none of them are experiencing any problems. I've actually had a Netgear router before and never had any real problems out of it. I can't speak to anyone else's issues, but if this lasts a year or longer it'll have paid for itself IMO. (with the cable company I had to get a new POS motorola modem yearly).

I've had this adapter for one month now. I originally purchased it to to connect Dish Network to my broadband connection. Due to poor advice from Dish, I was unable to use it (it was not recognized by my Dish receiver).So I hooked it up to my main computer and was happy with the ease of installation. As a side note, my router software was horrendous, causing my computer to crash on start up. But the Netgear usb adapter's software works without a hitch. The bright blinking blue light is slightly annoying, but simply fixed by placing it out of sight. It does run pretty warm, but not hot. If I get a year's use out of it, it'll be worth the $40 price tag.I would recommend this adapter to anyone with limited computer skills like me but needing wireless connectivity.

I'm very disappointed in this product. I use it to connect two machines, an XP laptop and a Vista desktop, to the Internet. The XP laptop connection is wireless. The Vista desktop connection is wired. The XP laptop has connectivity issues every few hours. Often, just running the XP "diagnose connection problem" dialog (the one which you are automatically invited to run if IE can't connect to a site) fixes the problem. But about once every two weeks I need to unplug the router for a few minutes so that it reboots. I bought this to replace an SMC Barricade which never had such problems. (But which I wanted to replace because it wasn't very fast.) The Vista (wired) connection is much more stable - I can recall only one problem in several months. The last time I checked I had the latest software in the router.

This was easy to setup and it works well. Setting up the external hard drive access was very easy. Backup of photos and documents without physically moving/connecting to the external drive is really convenient. I have started to backup these files more regularly than in the past.Now if only I can the HP printer to work through this device, so I can do remote print.I have had this for 4-5 months and have not seen any issues with it.

I get full signal strength on all of my devices anywhere in my home. Installation was very easy. I haven't had any problems with signal dropping or having to restart the router, yet. This router works well with the Roku player wirelessly.

I really really like this adapter. The range is great, my router is on the first level and the adapter works well anywhere in the house. Most of the time I'm using it on the second level of a 1,475 sq. ft space. My only con with this product is the adapter is too long (est. 3 1/2") because of the length the weight of the adapter tends to bend the usb connector after extended periods of continuos use. If you're not careful with it, it will eventually break off, or become so loose that it will not work. i am on my 2nd adapter. If you do purchase it, buy a refurbished one, you will save some money and it works and looks just like a brand new one.

This device works great so far; I installed it 2 days ago in my bedroom. The distance between it and my router is short so I had no problems with the range limitations of 5Ghz even going through 2 walls in my house. I use it strictly as a bridge for HD multimedia (video/mp3/picture) playback. I have a Networked Media Tank and a Blu-Ray/Netflix player plugged into it. I feel as if this device were made with me in mind - the setup was the simplest I've ever dealt with because of the WPS feature, I was able to connect both of my devices because it has 2 ethernet interfaces, and the ability to shut off the LEDs via a pushbutton on the back means no annoying lights when it's time to go to sleep. It was a perfect solution for my scenario. The only thing that would have made it better is if it were smaller in physical size.

at first i had trouble getting this thing to work because i disabled the wireless control program on my laptop and after i enabled it it worked just fine.
