Replaced my ISPs Zhone modem with this one and it works fantastic. Shaved 10ms of my ping tests and a definite improvement in online COD games.QOS controls works very well especially for online gaming. I have not tried streaming HD on the 5ghz band but so far on the 2.4ghz band no issues with my WDTV Live.Recent firmware adds vpn endpoint features. Generally more features here than the Cisco\Linksys or Asus ADSL modems that I had looked at before making my purchase.Interface very easy to understand and use, more responsive than the Linksys' interface probably because the processor is faster on the Netgear.Has not dropped an adsl connection since I installed it almost 3 weeks ago.

I just picked up this router a few days ago for a new laptop. My current set up is with AT&T dsl and other routers I tried did not mesh well with this system. Either they would drop the connection or download speeds were extremely slow. The set up on this router was a snap; just pop in the disk and the program walks you through the rest. The connections are color and symbol coded which makes set up easy for those new to wireless routers. Initial set up took about 8 minutes from start to finish and my laptop recognized the connection immediately. So far, I have no complaints regarding performance. The unit powers up and makes connections in under a minute. Speeds are comparable to a wired connection and I have not experienced any dropped connections.Both the router and the power brick are small and stay cool. While the unit is constructed primarily of plastic, it feels solid and doesn't look cheap or like a toy. There is a small power button located on the back of the unit which can be located easily by touch. The front panel is silver with multiple small indicator lights in green and blue and while they are a bit bright, they serve the function in which they were intended. The antennae is small and can be adjusted or folded down so it is flush with the unit. While I haven't had time to really test connection at a signficant distance from the router, the signal strength is strong throughout the house.Overall, I have been pleased with this router so far. The price point is excellent and set up was considerably easier than several other brands I tried.

Purchased this device with another Netgear device(same type just without wireless) to perform a site to site vpn as well as manage my network. I had some stability issues with this device as well as the VPN would almost always drop. Most of the time I had recycle the device to get it back. I eventually had to replace these devices as they where not meeting my needs. I had contacted netgear support there response was to reapply the same firmware and test again. Eventually gave up and purchased Zywall's to replace these and am extremely pleased with them.

I bought this as a replacement for the DG834 which finally stopped working after the phone line got struck by lightning... In many ways the DG834 was superior - even with the 834's tiny external antenna, it far out reached the DGND3300's - DGND3300's wireless coverage went up and down and was not very consistant even though the device was stationary. Other reviews that claim the 3300 worked are probably accurate, but they must of been talking about "ideal" working conditions - like same room. Clearly this device is NOT IDEAL for traversing walls of any significance or frequency - you cannot replace an external antenna with an internal antenna and expect similar or better results - this is technically impossible!Also didn't like DGND3300 configurations for "guest" - seems needless and confusing and overall, the device ran much hotter than the DG834. In terms of DSL modem based wireless routers, there are very few choices out there that perform as advertised. The only one I'd rate highly is the DG834, beyond that, the products out there lack its effective range and features.UPDATE: I ended up buying the Actiontec 300 Mbps Wireless-N DSL Modem Router (GT784WN) which has both DSL modem and wireless N. I've got to say, this is the best wireless router with a DSL modem I've seen. Rock solid, very good reach, and easy setup. Still runs a little warmer than I'd like, but beyond that a very good choice.

If you disable DHCP you can turn it into a great wireless switch but you need a router between it and the internet. I use a cheap Vonage router and it works much better than the FVG318. FVG318 has constant bugs, "cable disconnected" repeatedly on all computers, no Windows 7 on the one I bought, can not get to many popular sites, silly. Crap...but a great dumb switch.

While fairly easy to set up, it took awhile to get everything on my wireless network to function correctly. It is working perfectly now, and I recommend it to anyone who has need for a dual band router for their DSL connection.

I am very glad and so impressive from the services from fastfriendlyservice.I ordered a NETGEAR WG111 Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter (54 Mbps) sometime last Dec through Amazon. However, I did not receive the shipment even though the record from USPS showed home delivery. This matter remained a mystery for the reason why USPS delivered but I did not receive.I tried but not much hope to resolve this issue since the seller did ship the adapter. Because of that, it is not the seller's responsibility. However, the seller "fastfriendlyservice" sent me emails and saying would like to ship me a replacement. I received the adapter yesterday.I highly applause the services from fastfriendlyservice because of their handling customer issues with professional attitude and trust. Although adapter is a small order, but my on-line ordering with fastfriendlyservice gave me very pleasant experience.

Purchsed DGN2000 from amazon 6 months ago. Just failed completely. Called support and was given round-around repeatedly for hours. Though the warranty is 1 year. Don't expect anything other than luck. When this product fails, expect nothing. Just buy another brand.

I find it interesting that part of the review asked me about overheating and parts burning up.Here is my situation: I read a lot of reviews before purcahsing this unit and many of them mentioned an overheating problem. So since I was expecting that it was no problem for me to make modifications to the unit before I even plugged it in for the first time. I had to laugh at one website where someone was asking for clarification about the overheating problem and NETGEAR employee told them they would void their warranty if they opened the case. Seriously NetGear probably should have recalled these units and just modified the cases themselves.So anyway, it did take me about 3 hours to get it working. Kind of my fault really, I guess I got spoiled by the 2WIRE unit that had worked without problems for years before it finally gave up. The lesson here is write down every piece of information you can about your connection to your service provide and keep it in a safe place. I was lucky that I had a backup unit that had the connection settings availible.The modifications I did to the case were pretty simple. NETGEAR does provide feet for standing the unit up vertically (+ good). But the unit has little tiny holes and insanely thick plastic wrapping around the sides (- bad). However it is really easy to remove some plastic and get some great ventilation through this thing (+ good).Everything has been working great with the router; my blackberry and mac connected to it right away. I like how detailed the admin interface webpage is.No overheating problems if you just cut huge holes in the case.

Too old for the new technology. if your running win 95, 97 or win 98 you will have minn problems but win-7 its a nightmare and its to old they dont even support it even thought its new. dont buy its not woth it. Product works but its impossible to get set up on new operating systems.buy the stuff that comes with a cd or dvd that will run on newer operating equipment.

Knowing this is a 'pseudo wireless-n' device I bought it cheap as my old Netgear wireless-g had stopped working. $30 shipped for a refurbished unit seemed pretty good. It was easy to setup with my cable modem using the supplied CD. I have a full spec wireless-n laptop and a wireless-g desktop (with external antenna). It worked with both but I found the range pretty poor. Speeds were low (especially on the desktop which would drop out sometimes) and it was only in the next room about 25 feet away going through one interior wall. I moved it about 10 feet closer to my office and now it's fast and reliable. Always get 54Mbits on the wireless-g and 65 on the wireless-n (though still short of the 150 it's spec'd at) with no dropouts. I updated the firmware from Netgear's website easily enough. NOTE - there are 3 revisions of this device, A, B and C. They're not quite the same requiring different firmware. It doesn't say anywhere on the modem which one it is so you have to go to the router's internal webpage (default is 192.168.1.1). Go to 'Router Status' and check the firmware version, it will end with an A, B or C indicating which one it is. I use WPA2-PSK for max security plus MAC authentication, 2 PCs, a network storage device and a wireless printer. All work fine.

I just got this unit tonight and really set it up in about 2 minutes.I have verizon DSL and just need to know the setting 0/35 and it worked right away.I just called it the same thing as the previous router and did not need to change anything else.This is unlike my D-Link unit which was soooo hard to set up (although do-able).I am very happy with setup.Speed seems good, wifi and hardline both worked well.I like it.Update April 19, 2011, Still working great. Set up with my iphones, laptops, blackberry, and desktop.All can run at once.Speed limited by DSL.Cant tell the difference between hardwire and wireless.Update August 14, 2011. Still working great.

Like many others, this router drops DHCP devices left and right. Only a reset will find the devices again and a few minutes later they'll be dropped again.This is my third Netgear router and it's the last Netgear device I'll ever purchase.

I bought the NETGEAR WG111 Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter when I had to relocate my computer to another room in the house, and I didn't want to run a wire from my wireless router to my computer. I had bought one of these for my two grandsons about a year ago, with the same results. They were able to connect to their wireless router from a different room.In both cases, the devices performed flawlessly with no difficulty installing them. The software is user friendly and it works. What more can you ask?By playing around with where you mount the adapter - it comes with a short cable, but I added a 10-foot USB extension - you can maximize the signal strength. I went from about 4 bars (out of a possible eight) to six by just moving the adapter about 10 feet closer to my wireless router. I am getting about 17mbps on a 20mbps connection to my cable ISP.The unit itself is quite small - about the size of a thumb drive - and has a blue light which blinks indicating data traffic.Overall, I give this adapter five stars for low price and excellent performance.

The pair does what it is supposed to. Not sure the bandwidth is sufficient, but that depends on distance and intervening walls and what's within the walls. These connect my Panasonic internet ready TV and internet ready Blu-Ray player fine.

I was taking a chance in using one of these unites even after reading all the bad reviews, well I had quite a few disconnections each day. Sometimes it would completely boot me off. The biggest problem is that the unit overheats to dangerous temperatures. My daughter actually slightly burned her finger on it one evening when we were reading online. After that I decided to throw it away. It is a very dangerous product. Please be careful.-Concerned Father

It is a great device, shiny, with all the fancy tickling lights, (which you can switch off!) except few.It does the basics of a modem and router, but not the perfection.WPS not work at all, once clicked; the network name changed suddenly, and disconnect other devices already paired to the router.Softphones (Bria V3.0) has issues with the router, and I spent over 5 hours trying to figure out port forwarding or any previous settings I used to make, but no luck!! Calls drop right after 30SI didn't have trouble using Skype; it is probably because Skype doesn't need port forwarding.I didn't have problem using VPN clients.Overall, the product is missing big in basic features, and the falsely advertised perfection.

I have read the other reviews listed and I just don't understand why others are having so many problems with this product. I feel this is an excellent product! I was given this router by Comcast to use with their high speed internet and it works very well. I have never had to reset it and have always had a strong connection to all my wireless products that are connected to it. I even have my Iphone connected to it, which NEVER gets a 3G signal at all in my apartment, working great with full signal all over and no dropped calls! I also have this product sending signal to my BluRay player without an issue plus very fast. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants quality wireless internet at a great price!

I have had this product for 2 months now, and have had nothing but problems with this router/modem combo. I have connection issues with the ISP (which is AT&T) all the time. Netgear was trying to tell me that AT&T was the problem, yet when I hooked up my old modem to the internet, no issues what so ever. I'm still trying to resolve this problem with the Indian tech support people. If you enjoy getting the run around with tech support that's out of the United States then by all means buy this product. If you don't like that then run as fast as you can away from this piece of junk.I also want to add that I'm not a novice when it comes to networking. I have a degree in computer networking, so I know how to configure these type of products.
