If you are a dsl subscriber and don't yet have wifi, what are you waiting for - this is a great combo unit. Easy to setup, small footprint, lots of features. Really like being able to setup multiple networks, really like the USB NAS support for a quick a dirty home network for file sharing.Having said that, I purchased it as an upgrade unit for my existing Wirless-G 2.4 ghtz unit. Only somewhat better than the old. Wireless-N is faster, but the range using 5ghtz is frankly disappointing, signal strength seems to drop significantly compared to the old unit. If you are having signal issues with your old unit I'd recommend something different in this price range.

This is the second router of this type that I have purchased. The first one was damaged due to a ceiling leak and had to be replaced. The router set up is simple and the signal range is perfect for my large apartment. No complaints.

Worst router I've ever used - only lasted five months. Over time the speed slowed, had to fight with constant drop-outs and resets, it always ran very hot, and in the end it fried its own power adapter. Avoid, avoid, avoid - what a waste of material resources.

The FWG114P has been the center of my family's network for 5-6 years. I purchased it specifically for the printserver feature. After several years, we have replaced our PCs and now use Vista. The "install" CD will not install on our 64-bit machine. Although the software does work on Vista 32-bit, I found (after much research) that the printer port may be configured without any software at all. It's a simple and widely available port option on both Mac and PC called LPR and works well. The only flaw to a printserver like this is that any two-way communication is dead. No ink level warnings, etc. can be sent from the printer to the computer. Likewise, you can't scan from a multifunction. As for obsolescence: Although wireless b/g is more than enough speed for sharing a DSL connection, apparently wireless n is the new defacto standard. Also, many reasonably priced inkjet printers already have a cat5 jack on the back, so you may not even need the printserver feature at all.Reliability: My only reason for needing to replace this router is that the power jack has gone bad. Nudging the low voltage plug causes it to blink out and restart. I could probably buy a new jack and solder it on, but why risk ruining the whole thing? Its had its run and now it's old. Coincidentally, the power jack is failing due to years of manually resetting by unplugging the low voltage cord from the unit. The router only causes trouble when a user tries to print without paper or on low ink. The printer goes haywire when this happens and, once the ink or paper is restored, it prints out page after page of garbage. The only way to fix this is to pull power to both router and printer, plug in the printer, then plug in the router. This is the nature of electronics, I guess. I would suggest adding an inline switch to the low voltage line instead of pulling the plug, as pulling out the cord each time makes a tiny spark and will eventually oxidize the contacts. All in all, excellent workhorse but could handle printer errors better.

I changed my westell 327w router with the NetGear DGND330 router. At first i was hesitant because of the complaints in the internet. But once you set it up right in the "basic" and "adsl" settings. Your good to go. You will need the MAC address of your old router in the "basic" settings and the set to LLC-Based and VPI/VCI to 0/35 in "adsl" settings. Make sure your adsl line, wired connection are connected before you turn it on. I estimate it took me a good 20minutes to install. This router meets my wireless needs. Yippeee!!

Picked this up to replace a dieing belkin that was given to me a year ago. So far its worked amazing and so far netgear has always been the best for me when it comes to routers. Speed is great, and broadcast area is even better. i can pick this signal up through my entire apartment building(3 floors) and even up to about 50 yards away outside in the yard. Definitely recommend and no drops or anything yet.

It starts out well, but after two hours on the internet, it starts slowing down and kicks me out eventually. I end up having to turn it off (that's when I felt how hot I gets) Then I have to wait a few hours to let it cool down and when I turn it on again, it connects but the web site is very slow.

I'm lazy and I don't like to over-configure things so I'm sure this does a lot more than what I use it for. All I wanted was to plug it in, hit the webpage on the device to change the ssid and WPA2 password (gotta have some security) and log out. Worked like a charm. WinXP, Win7, iPhone4, and Android2.2 all work smooth and haven't touched the thing for 4 months now. Network printer is plugged into one of the 4 ethernet ports in the back, also works fine.

When I was looking for a new modem router in one, I wanted to find something that would work well but was inexpensive. After going to Best Buy, this is what I came up with. It seemed to be exactly what I needed. The good news is that for the first year I had it, when I used it with a wired connection, it worked very well. But there are 2 downsides to it. When I tried to use it as a wireless router, the signal was often too weak to navigate the Internet, even for computers that were nearby but especially for computers that were further away in the house. The second issue is that it started working only sporadically after one year. Of course, after one year, my free support had terminated, and I had to buy another router modem.Best Buy doesn't offer many choices, so I went with another Netgear, this time the N300 Wireless. We'll see if it serves me any better.

I have been a Netgear loyalist for quite a number of years. However, after buying the DGND 3300 v1 router, I have decided to jump ship. The pros: The device works well and the interface is easy to handle. It has some innovative features like Traffic Meter, and also supports a network USB. Being a dual band router, a computer can also be connected on the Wireless-N standard. The con: A major problem of this device is in its handling of SIP/VoIP packets. Using Skype causes the wireless signal to disconnect, and most other VoIP programs sound very choppy. Disabling/Enabling DMZ, SIP ALG, etc. do not really work. Therefore, I'm now forced to look for other routers.

A great product easily recognized my current verizon setup and connected inside 20 minutes, including the time it took for me to unhook old router, setup new on and run disk. that simple the disk also walks you through the physical setup as well as the ip setup. Perfect for anyone that has a gamer in the house you can setup 2 networks one runs at 270Mbps and the other at 54mbps and devote one to the console or computer doing the gaming. makes for less interference and keeps them from dropping or "lagging".

Old SetupNetgear WGT624NAv3 (G - 108Mbs)Netgear WGPS606 (Print Server/Bridge 54 Mbs)New SetupNetgear Rangemax WNDR3700Netgear WNHDEB111Background:I honestly hated Netgear. The nightmares I had with my old setup were terrible. I constantly had to reboot the router; the bridge required me to reconnect wireless devices in a certain order every time; my fiance's Apple never stayed connected long; bittorrent, VPN and video streaming knocked the router out the few times it was working; and the customer service is just horrible. I swore I'd never buy another Netgear product, but I finally had to buy something that would at least work for my fiance. I waited a few months for 802.11n to mature a bit, and was going to get the DLINK DIR-655. Recently it's had horrible firmware issues though and the other brands had low reviews. Then along came the WNDR3700.The reviews were great so I picked it up and this bridge. I fully expected it to work as badly as my previous Netgear products, but I felt I had to give it a shot. Conclusion:I've had this product connected to my WNDR3700 for two days now and it works flawlessly. I have had many wireless setups and this is the best I've ever seen. I've seen people complain that it's on the 5Ghz frequency only, but it works great. All of my other systems are wired or on the 2.4Ghz frequency so I have very little overlap. Of course the WNDR3700 is dual-band so that may not be the same for everyone. I will update this if anything changes but for now I'm extremely happy. It could work at half the speed it does and I would still be happy to have something that just works for once.Update:Everyone in my home has problems with the iphone and this router. We constantly get disconnected. It's a known issue on their forums. There is a recent update that helps a lot but almost everyday I still lose my connection and have to re-enter my password. Otherwise this router is still working amazingly. I've only had to reset it one time.Update:The last update pretty much fixed the iphone issues. I rarely have to reconnect my phone anymore. If you plan on using the USB storage part of the device though I'd recommend reading the Netgear forums. Some people have had some issues with this.

My router worked fine for a little over two months and then needed to be re-set. I called customer support and my guy was very very nice and helpful and in about 20 mins, it was up and working.BUT...........My router is now out of warranty and I can no longer make a service call if the router quits on my again (you get ONE FREE CALL). The set-up was not intuitive AT ALL and I'm pretty sure I won't be able to do it again. So, if it needs to be re-set, I'm basically going to have to buy a new router. It's $60 and not the end of the world. But if Netgear can't make it easier to re-set their products or PROVIDE SERVICE for their products, I can't continue to do business with them.OH.....And they did offer me a service plan for ALL OF MY ELECTRONIC DEVICES in the house....FOR $100 per year. Not what I need, so no thanks!NOT GOOD!

This review is from: NETGEAR Wireless-N 150 DSL Modem Router DGN1000 (Electronics)I have had this product twice, both times the product died at approximatedly 6 months from the purchase, for the same reasons. The signal in the wired ports started to fail randomly, then definitively. The only access was through the wireless conection, and then near the end, the wireless signal also died. I claimed for the product warranty and I received a new one... the same is happening again, 6 months later. My assumption is that this product, that doesn't has a FAN on it, overheats. It really get's hot. For the second one, I even installed a timer since the beggining, to ensure it gets off at least 5 or 6 hours a day, but even with this precaution, it is failing again. This is a good product while it works, but seems to be disposable on just 6 months ! I'm really mad about it. I'll look for any other brand, hopefully one that doens't overheat.

Setup was easy. I picked it because other Apple Newton users said that it was compatible. This AP worked great for me but the range was really low. I only got reliable data transfers when I was within 3-4 m from the AP.Solved the problem with a 7db dipole antenna. But you shouldn't have to do that in the first place.Otherwise it has provided over 6 years of use before starting to show problems and died just yesterday, over a 3 week period.

This Netgear Wireless N 150 WNR1000 Router has to be reset every day. Comcast installed Xfinity for us, including giving us this router. You have to reset it everyday for an Internet Connection. I believe on of the reviewers mentioned that it resets DHCP (which most computers uses for the internet) everytime you unplug it, so basically you are getting a new IP address when you do this. Why is this necessary? I don't know, but DONT BUY IT. Perhaps, if you use static IP, rather than get your ip with DHCP you're ok, and probably this is why the one reviewer said he had problems once he unplugged it, the router probably gave him a new IP, but the computer is still using the old IP.Perhaps there is a setting on the router, and I guess I will go search for that.

I'll provide detail below, but to summarize my review, this product works fine as a standalone wireless access point but did not work at all for me as a wireless repeater, even when using 2 of these devices with one as the primary and the second as the repeater. Here is the problem I was trying to solve with this product...after re-locating my office and Verizon Fios Actiontec wireless router into the basement of my home, I found that the Actiontec was not strong enough to provide reliable wireless service to the front half of the first and second floors of my home. Having read the great reviews of the WPN802 as a wireless access point with very strong range, I purchased one and connected it to my router to act as its own access point (I did not attempt to use it as a repeater for the Actiontec as I have read mixed results of using other devices with the Actiontec, and also learned that the WPN802 is only supposed to act as a repeater for another WPN802). I found that the WPN802 only had marginally better range than my Actiontec, and so this wasn't a solution to my problem; given that both my Actiontec and the WPN802 were in my basement, I assumed that the foundation of the house must be interfering with the signal and so the answer was likely to place a wireless repeater somewhere above the basement. With this in mind, and ignoring other warnings in reviews that the repeater mode had issues, I purchased a second WPN802 as it seems they are only supposed to act as repeaters for another WPN802. I placed the second WPN802 on the first floor of my home and configured it as a repeater for the WPN802 in the basement; the signal from the second WPN802 was very strong, however it was impossible to connect to this second WPN802...you see, in order to configure the repeater mode both WPN802s must use the same SSID, and without fail my laptop always connected to the first WPN802 with the weaker signal. I tried this on 3 different Dell Inspiron laptops using both Dell's wireless utility and the Windows network connections utility...this is pretty common equipment. I spent 5 hours on the phone with Netgear's technical support in the Philipines trying to get the repeater mode to work; I must compliment them for their thorough and knowledgeable nature as well as responsiveness - we tried pretty much everything in terms of assigning static IP addresses, different channels, access control, etc. but nothing worked. This was not easy as we had to continually do a hard reset on the 802s, and as has been mentioned in previous reviews you need to be directly attached to the 802 to re-configure it. Their support would undoubtedly still be trying to solve the problem with me, but I ultimately chose to take a hardwired approach to solve the problem, running a CAT5e into my attic that was attached to the Actiontec in the basement and a WPN802 in the attic. The WPN802 in the attic is exhibiting great range and covering those areas not being serviced properly by the Actiontec.Due to the obvious repeater functionality flaws, I cannot rate this product higher than a 3, and I rate it at that high a level only because it does work well as a standalone wireless access point and because I was impressed by the professional nature of Netgear's support. If all I wanted was an access point however I could have gotten something cheaper, and now I have 2 of these (which thankfully I do have uses for).

The router is very easy to install and seems to work well so far (I've had it for most almost two weeks now). However, I called Netgear yesterday to ask them a question and guess what: you have to purchase a support agreement (which will cost you sixty-nine bucks). So here I have a router, for which I paid fifty-nine dollars at Walmart and it costs more for them to support it than the price of the device itself! What's up with that? I don't have much respect for companies that don't support their products. As a side note, I've also been experiencing an issue when watching movies (from Netflix) through my Wii when using this wireless router. Basically, when I turn off my Wii and then turn it back on, the wireless router will no longer allow my Wii to connect to the internet (so I have to reboot the router and modem each time I want to watch a movie). According to Nintendo that is NOT the case with all wireless routers. The latest firmware update from Netgear was supposed to fix that but it didn't. So if you're planning on using a wireless router to watch movies through a device like a Wii, make sure you get a router that doesn't have this issue or call Netgear's sales people first to make sure this issue has been resolved.

I first purchased one 2 years back and have not had one problem with it. I recently picked up another on to act as a wireless repeater with the original and again, it works wonderfully. These routers have taken a lot of use. In my house I have 3 desktops, 3 laptops, 2 internet radios, PS3, Wii, a couple of DSi's, an internet TV, an internet Blu-Ray and a few other things running off these routers. I have never had an issue with either router. The first router worked great to cover the entire house. I wanted more range outdoors and in the garage (The original router is in the basement as that is were my main system is) so I picked up the second.
