This is USELESS as an access point on a mixed G and N network...(Not bashing Netgear... I have the WNR3500 which is excellent)Since this operates at 5GHz only, your 802.11 g devices WILL NOT WORK (which use the 3GHz spectrum)So for a network using n and g devices, maybe opt for the pricier WN802T or WN802T-2001 Star for NOT making this absolutely clear on the box.... most networks today are mixed.

This is a great system, easy to set-up, strong signal, no drops. My kids and wife use the laptop about 3-4 nights a week for homework or shopping. They just boot up the laptop and go.I purchased this to go with my new fiber optic high speed internet as we choose to give up dial-up so the oldest can get homework done in a timely fashion. The installer set-up it up for me, 'cause NETGEAR is always a problem, of course he picked the WEP protocol and said that was easy and left. I bought it for the WPA2 and the local office supply store was closing out the notebook adapter for $20.00. Re-setting the security to WPA2 was easy, I just the used the supplied CD for the owners manual. I've got signal strong everywhere in my two-story and I can use the local how spot from corner coffee house, if only they did not turn if off at night...No problems after 30 days.

The Netgear DSL Modem/Router was easy to install. The DSL provider did not clarify initial id and password so that caused a delay. The Tech service folks at Netgear were very helpful (I had to be patient...took over 4 minutes of hold period b/f talking to someone).I returned the product because the DSL provider's speed was slower than I wanted. i would recommend the product.

I was disappointed to find out after receiving the Netgear WNHDE111 that it provides bridge functionality only when paired with another WHNDE111. Amazon's return process worked flawlessly though.

This Netgear product does exactly what it is supposed to do, in a fairly uncomplicated way. I have set up hundreds of routers, switches, hubs, and wireless routers over the years. This one has just enough features to do the job, and be simple to set up.When first connecting, it prompts you to check for new firmware, which is easily downloaded and installed. You have a switch on the back to select which type of device it is to be, in my case I needed a wireless Access Point. I plugged in a network cable from a nearby 4 port hub, which was plugged into a distant 8 port switch. I connected first though a network cable to set the security settings.The customer's laptop, running Vista Ultimate, located the device, connected, prompted for security log-on, and that was it. My customer had a reliable connection, and could access the office network with her laptop anywhere throughout a 5000sf office (various walls, hallways, and rooms) We were using the 'N' band, WPA2 security with AES encryption. The signal was strong, and had no interference problems, even though we were in the middle of a large group of small independent offices.

I use this router to serve up a wireless connection via a serial modem. Unless you need to connect to the Internet through a serial modem or need a modem as a backup connection you can save money with a cheaper router. The dial-on-demand feature works well and I've only had to reboot this router a couple of times. I get a strong signal and the router itself is in what feels like a sturdy metal case.If you are among the 5 of us out there still using dial-up and are tired of being tied to a phone cord I recommend this router. Be sure to visit the manufacturers web site to see what serial modems are supported. Mine wasn't on the list and it still worked but I may have gotten lucky.

The Netgear WG111T was easy to set up and provided 54 Mbps connectivity, using a Verizon FIOS Router. I would recommend this device for a quick and easy installation wireless device.

I have had this router now for about 2 years. The Netgear has good setup utility. I like that you can not only have network security, but also specify which computers are allowed to connect to the wireless.The ethernet ports died after about a year. No big deal for me, I went all wireless and it has served fine.One oddity I learned. This unit runs hot. Turning it on it's end instead of leaving it in the intended horizonal position allows it to vent better. Since did this it has been rock solid. Perhaps the ethernet ports would still be with me if I had picked up on this earlier.For just under $100, this is a decent product. I highly recommend it - just turn it on it's side to let it breathe :)

I owned a older Netgear Router that started to drop my internet connections. So I started researching for a new Wireless-N Router. After searching over product reviews and pricing. I wanted to make sure I buy a router that was future proof, well as least for awhile. So I choose this router because it was Wireless-N and Gigabit Router all rolled into one. I recently purchase a new HP that is also wireless. It was easy to connect and setup my wireless network for my printer. I have both hardwire and wireless devices on the router. I also love the auto update feature that is built into the router when you login into it. I recommend this product due to reliablity, easy setup with both hardware and wireless networks and pricing. Italia247 out.

When this item was about $89 it was an ok buy considering no usb port for printers or external hardrives, so you have to buy more expensive netwrk printers and network hardrives. So a USB port really would be a big cost saver.But now the price is just to high for this considering it was cheaper and electronics are supposed to go down in price and not up.

While I wish these bridges had a few extra features and better admin applications, they work as advertised. I just plugged them in and had them working within minutes.I set them up in the same room and saw data rates of 300Mbps. I then moved the bridge to its real destination, an airplane hangar in my backyard, and the signal strength is down to the 70% range and speed down to about 160Mbps, but my home LAN is still just 100 Mbps, so I'm very happy with it. I notice no difference from when I was working in the home connected directly to my home LAN with an Ethernet cable.I have been using these devices for a couple months now and work on my computer in the airplane hangar all day long and the bridge is working flawlessly. My Internet and network access is just as good as it was when I was working in the home.I also have a Replay TV in the airplane hangar and can watch recorded programs from another Replay TV in the house and that works just fine, and streaming video like that is a pretty high-volume network load.These devices are working great and have allowed me to move my office out to the airplane hangar where it should be whereas with Wireless G before I was seeing data rates around 8Mbps which was not acceptable and prevented me from working where I needed to be.

While researching this product, I found many, many negative reviews. But, in the end, being able to get a Netgear VPN, firewall, router and wireless capability for 100 dollars less than buying the VPN and wireless access point separately was too much to pass up. As I have often found with networking (especially wireless) products, the underlying issue of the large number of negative reviews is people's lack of understanding of networking and/or inability to properly configure the device. In the case of this device, the configuration issue did turn out to be quite a headache, but the persistence was well worth it. If you are having trouble getting it configured, especially the part of upgrading the firmware, check out some of the reviews on NewEgg-- it made the difference for me. Once I got the firmware upgraded, the rest of the configuration was very similar to all the other Netgear products I own, and it has been a very solid performer for over a month now.

Old house (built 1912) with a lot of electronic stuff going on it it-- wireless network at 2.4 ghz, cordless phone system at 5.8 ghz (purchased because the prior Siemens Gigaset system and the wireless network clashed. Two microwaves and a wireless doorbell and anytime I check for wireless networks I pick up about half a dozen from the buildings around me.Add to this that I bought Neuros Technology's Neuros OSD Media Center-- it's a way cool gadget that lets you put DVDs, CDs and anything you can record in digital form, on an external hard drive for ease of storage and playback. But it doesn't have wireless so I have had it sitting next to my TV with a ethenet cord running to my router-- it only gets pulled out a couple of times a day when the dogs run into it while roughhousing.So I plugged one of these units into my router and attached the electrical cord. Then I plugged the other into my OSD and attached the second electrical cord. I pushed both buttons and it connected. That was it. Yeah, I will probably be doing some tinkering in the future, especially with security, but this has to be easiest thing I have ever done wireless network wise.

My DSL connection started to go up and down like a yo-yo. The culprit was my eight year old Alcatel 1000 modem. I purchased the DGN 2000 and combined three pieces of hardware (modem, wireless access point and router). The DGN 200 is rock solid. My two kids were home from college over Thanksgiving and their MacBooks were in almost constant use. The wireless network performed flawlessly even though the router is located in the basement.It would be nice if Netgear would have included a USB port for a network printer or hard drive. Other than that, I am very satisfied with this product.

Installation is very simply and the connection was immediate. Using the wireless connectivity with netgear's hd network kit increased the stability of my mix network.

Выполняет задание.
Делает свою работу, в сочетании с DG834G Netgear установите в доме с каменными стенами, но только одна комната расстояние до маршрутизатора. Легко установить и при необходимости сбросить. В. хорошая цена, когда я купил его.

I struggled with how to add kids xbox to my network. This was easy as pie. There are 2 more ethernet ports available after using this to create an ethernet wifi to a remote xbox. I connected it to my pre-existing router via ethernet and I have a great N device wirelessly connected with ethernet and have 1 extra port remote, and 1 wired local. The only problem is there are only 2 ethernet ports per device (you buy 2 devices for 150, each has 2 ports, 1 port is a source, 1 remote to the xbox; it's that easy).

Just bought this DSL&Router and could not get it to work. Spent two hours with Netgear on the phone and two hours with AT&T. Nether had could help or had a clue why it would not work. Finally a friend pointed me to [...] My Mac address for my ADSL was not the same as the MAC address for the router. Went to the LAN setup page and unselected,"Use Router as DHCP Server" BINGO

We previously had a Wireless G router and switched to this Wireless N router with hopes of even faster cable internet. It seemed to provide the same speed until just latley...the internet seems to have slowed down on my computer, but not my husbands...router related possibly? Do your homework first and make sure your computer(s) are compatible with this product before you buy.Looks sleek and stylish and takes up hardly any space though!

365 days after installation, the wireless malfunctioned. Netgear had me download a new system to the router and then the Mac G-4 could not be connected even after repeated "suggestions" by Netgear. If you want a reliable wireless router, do not buy Netgear!

Netgear must realize that most people aren't geeks. I had wanted wifi for using with a laptop and updating and downloading games for the Wii. I was up and running on a secure connection in 20 minutes. I had a little glitch that was operator error when I forgot to hook the computer running the installation disk up to the wifi but the disk walks you through all the possiblities one step at a time. Now our network is highspeed and private. I've been recommending it to the geeks I know. :)

This product is a victim of improper labeling. It really is a replacement wireless router which sits between the cable or fios router and replaces the wireless. It is NOT a repeater to a range extender in the normal way. My needs were to put something that picks up the existing wireless router's signal and amplifies it. This is what I was led to believe by the product label. After a bit of work it became obvious there were problems. Thanks to the first review on Amazon I realized this was not what I needed. This product may deserve a much higher rating if it was named and labeled in an unambiguous way. So the rating has a lot to do with the fact that it does not do what is was advertised to do.I suggest manufacturers be very clear on what their products do. Making a sale is not worth getting an angry customer who ends up returning the product.

We purchased this router to go with our brand new wireless N laptop. The laptop was running on a G network and connected very quickly. I followed the directions competely, called their customer service, worked with them for over three hours and still today my wife has called me three times today saying it loses connection. The connections are very sluggish. It seems like it is fighting itself.We have a brand new $1,300 laptop and it is still not working correctly. It connects fine when it is wired, but the wireless system is completely unreliable. Their customer service seems to be trying to assist, but you can tell they are just reading the troubleshooting guide to you. I can do that!!!
