Instructions on how to operate insufficient. I was so excited to finally have a webcam so that i could see my family but it is impossible to figure out how to actually do everything. bottom line, the instructions are totally lacking in step by step guidance in the whole process. the product itself is probably pretty good quality, i just wouldnt know because i have yet to have both the sound and picture working at the same time.

I bought this camera on advice seen in this list as well a friend who had just bought one. However, the software had a glitch in it and wouldn't completely install to my computer that uses windows xp. Online help didn't help from Microsoft.I sent it back and got a logitech Qickcam Communicate MP that functions fine and set up in a few minutes with no glitches. Amazon took back the Microsoft LifeCam with no problem and was real happy with the Amazon service.

I ordered this webcam for my laptop which is running XP. I could not download the software. I brought the webcam to my daughter-in-law to try on her laptop running Vista - installed like a charm.

I have had some problems with it, primarily the built in microphone - don't count on the mic working well, or at all.

This webcam works great. The picture and sound quality is fantastic. We ended up buying 2 for ourselves when my husband travels and one for my mother to see our baby. The fact that my mother set it up herself really says something about the simplicity of the device.

The webcam is an easy to operate, fully functional device. Perfect for laptops. The Range on it could be a little better. The mic is excellent.

I found this same web cam for twice the price at office depot, so I'm very happy. Visual is very good and clear, the audio does have some delay transmitting but it does not impair the quality of the product.

I would have given this Web Cam 5 stars if the software had been a little better. I think that Microsoft could have come up with more options in their software for the camera. Having said that I have used this camera for 1 1/2 months with no problems at all and the sound and picture are as good as I have seen. I now have purchased 3 more for family and friends. I got mine for $18.99 a real good price haven't seen them under $28 since

The installation of this webcam is no problem. Very easy and comes with the Live Messenger v8.1 . Resolution is pretty good but not the best. It's a very cool design that can either clip onto a laptop screen or sit on a desk.The bad things - The resolution could be better. the microphone is a little weak (ex. you wouldn't be able to step very far away from your computer and at times may have to talk a little louder). The software does take a while to install - long enough to make me wonder what was being put on my computer.

I bought this webcam for video chat and it is quite sufficient. I've tested it on Windows XP and Vista and it works with both. For the price, I went ahead and bought a second one. My only negative comment is that the software is nothing special. Also the resolution is 640x480, which isn't a problem for webchat, but might be an issue for more demanding applications.

I bought this camera mainly to be able to tape reference for my animation work.Totally did the trick. Small, easy to use and set-up was a breeze. It took a total of 7 minutes to get it ready.Sweet!

Ordered 9 of these WebCams along with headsets. These WebCams are excellent in clarity and and ease of use. We have hundreds of users in our ministry to Seafarers and they all report great video back to their home countries. I highly recommend them. An excellent buy for the price.

Very simple to install, works wonderfully. I use Skype with my family and the camera was recognized immediately and works without any hassles. Would strongly recommend - great product and great value!

I just received this yesterday and tested it right away (well, almost right away, after downloding and installing it to my laptop for 20~30 minutes) I thought because of the reviews, I thought the picture quality would be very grainy and blurred but it's not. It's not HD or even your 8~10 megapixel camera quality but it's pretty clear enough for me. It will be mainly used for video conference with family. It's definitely worth what I paid for and glad that I got this and would recomment to friends and family who want something practical.

This is the first webcam I've owned. It is more than sufficient for video-calls with my fiance. Installation was a breeze and worked with skype and gmail chat right away. The picture is not cinema quality, but it is good for having paid $30 for it. The stand is a little awkward, but it balances on my laptop screen alright, although it wouldn't last long if I was moving around alot.Overall, this is a great webcam for the price.

I like this camera. The image is pretty clear and does not require installation. Just connect to USB cable and it will start automatically when you initiate the connection through Skype or other IM software.

I gave this product one star because thats the lowest rating allowable...I bought this webcam because it was on sale and as I was just starting Grad school, funds were tight. I needed a webcam for video chats with the Prof and classmates. I should have spent the extra money on the webcam I recommended to a friend (a Logitech). The Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 worked exactly twice, and no more.So, even on sale from my local Best Buy, this POS webcam failed to give me even minimal funtion or use...Caveat emptor, it IS a Microsoft-branded product.

This webcam is terrible. it only works half the time. It does NOT work for oovoo application which most teens use. it only works for half the people. it does not work to videochat with people who have macs.

I bought this because of the great price, good name and good reviews---It really lived up to all expectations. The picture is clear and it has a focus feature so you can clarify the image if its blurry, I use it with skyp and it has great video and the mic picks up sound very well, its sharp and clear. it also sits nicely on top of my flat screen, out of the way. installation was quick and easy, totally no complaints, works perfectly

I recently had to send this product back after several weeks. The microphone worked sporadically. The picture, when used primarily with Skype, was no problem at all. I'm exchanging the product so we'll see what luck I have on the second one.

Generally I have been satisfied with this webcam, but needed Skype to make it work as the CD sent with the lifecam failed to load onto my computer. Microsoft lifecam works reasonably well, but I believe the image could be wider to make it more encompassing. Good Amazon price.

I bought this little camera for my sister so that we could skype while I'm out of the country. Nice picture, nice sound for a fair price.
