I was looking for a basic web cam and I was pleased with my purchase. I am not an expert on web cam quality but I would say this is a very decent camera.

The web cam is a very good buy for the price i bought it for.The clarity is good.It can be easily clipped on to the laptop.It comes with a small and a handy case so that you can carry it anywhere.But this is suitable only for laptops since the cable(USB) that connects it to the computer(laptop) is short in length.Very good for Video chat with family and friends living in the same country or abroad.

I was using a Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 cam before upgrading to this.Not a lot of innovation, but still:* A decent video quality, much better than my older one, bandwidth permitted.* Much more conveniently attaches to Laptops' screens.* Much more compact; also comes with a small, pretty hard case.* The eyelid can be closed -- and rotated vertically -- to avoid damage or dust.* Cheap (online)On the down side, Microsoft has a software, which unsurprisingly interacts well only with Messenger; it still works, of course, with others, say Skype. And their driver with mandatory software is about ~100MB and takes ages to install.

I bought this cam to connect with friends and family. Great feature set. I got this from Amazon for about 1/2 the cost at Best Buy. It is still more grainy than I would have though, but I guess that is more the tech than the camera itself. That is the only reason why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars.

Product worked as advertised. Only problems were mike, that software allowed me to change, and slow connection which the camera can't fix. Nice to see my daughters face at college.

While looking for a web cam I decided to read some online reviews. Several products seem to fit the bill for function vs. cost. I settled for the Microsoft web cam and it has worked perfectly for my intended perpose which is video phone calls using Skype.

I purchased two of these, one for me in Ct and one for my Grandchildren in Michigan. It was very easy to set up for both our computers. Using skype, it's easy to connect and the picture quality is surprising clear. For the price, I think it's a great way to communicate.

Picture is very good in low light which is essential....that is what I was and you should be looking for ....a cam that works in low light....the sound is good to very good....the attachment to hold on would be my only negative....it is ok but not real secure....overall great cam for price

This is my third web cam. My first was a Veo which was very good until my dog ate the wires. The second one was a HUE. It lasted about 2 months. It was $14.99 and it is true you get what you pay for. I would recommend this web cam for everyone.

Pros:Good price,quality picture,easy to set up.Cons: The flexible base is not long enough and does not clip easily onto a flat screen monitor. It works best sitting on a flat surface if you can get the proper camera angle.It is a quality camera for the price.

Installed quickly and easily on my laptop. Works great in good light, not so great in dim light, but certainly adequate for my needs (YouTube videos and Skype).

The Micorsoft Lifecam NX-6000 Webcam is a great product for the price. It works well especially for what I am using it for....a camera in a squad car. It has great picture and sound quality. It is a great value for the money.

This video cams pictures and video are nice an clear. Just make sure you have lights on in and around where you are taking pictures and viedo. Pictures and video are very visible in dim light too. The sound is ok, you have to be sitting up close to be understood so a mic is advisable.

I mainly bought this item because I got a good deal through the Live Messenger account. But it certainly delivered on everything as advertised. Being computer illiterate, it was extremely easy to set up. Basically all one does is plug it in. There is a little bit more to it than that, but not much. It sits anywhere, on the computer, on the desk, on a stand, depending on how you want to be seen. It has a microphone and can take pictures. Nice for people who want to get current snapshots of their loved ones and is better than a phone call.Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000 (Red)

The camera is a good buy for the sale price. I like the moldable stand to adapt to any surface. The down side is if you really feel the need to install the software you will get an incredible amount of junk you could never use. You don't need to install it. Just plug the camera in and let it find the drivers. Then use whatever video service you want. It give you no option to pick what software you want installed. Oh MS knows best... NOT>

Pro - Good features and special effects. Small and easily ajustable. Price was decent.Con - Picture quality is kinda of low. Button on the webcam is horrible (goto ajust the cam and accidently hit the button). Took almost 2 WEEKS to arive!This is the second webcam i have owned, i give it 5/10.

Nice quality in video and sound, especially for the price. Only downfall was that software didn't load with Windows XP but was still able to use device with Skype, which is why I purchased web cam in the first place.

I wanted a camera to help me communicate with my daughter overseas. She complained that the old one was fuzzy. I had no trouble setting up the LifeCam (don't forget to set up the microphone setting to LifeCam). My daughter was amazed at how clear the picture was (she is in Japan). I would recommend this to anyone.

Software would not install in on a standard Dell laptop with Windows XP. Where do you get tech support for a little webcam? Hours later, with local experts, still would not install. Let's hope that Microsoft learns to write software some day.

This is a decent webcam. It comes with lots of fun features like little cartoons you can add to your video or cool distortions.The problems are that whenever I turn off my lappie or unplug the camera, the camera is no longer recognized on my lappie until I restart it. It also just stops working in the middle of a video call. I'm not sure if it's just getting old, but I really don't use it that much so it's frustrating and disappointing. The final thing is that it is an MSN camera, and any time you adjust the camera you have to be careful because there's a button on top that initiates MSN webchat.

The video quality is great, camera mounts perfectly, its quick and simple to setup, although with vista you need to download the new driver from microsoft which is painless. The audio has a lot of static interference. I would recommend this camera with a seperate headset or microphone.

The Microsoft Lifecam VX-5000 offers flexibility that no other webcam manufacturer can offer. The flexible base allows you to create shapes that enable the webcam to be placed securely on almost any surface (I have it on my laptop screen right now). I addition the webcam has a built in microphone that conserves even more space that you would otherwise waste with a separate microphone. The only real downside is that the optics are not as good as some of the high range webcams. They are more than enough for casual user but I can see how it may not be enough for professional use.*** Positive Points Include:***- Great flexible base design- Built in Microphone*** Negative points Include: ***- Picture quality is not as good as some of the ohter high range- Microphone is unidirectional only so it only records sound coming directly in front of it.- Picture quality is a bit less that some of the higher range webcams being sold.Overall this webcam is a great buy considering its price. The flexibly camera base really put this webcam in a class of its own

The most confusing software I have ever encountered and I have been a computer user since 1985. I downloaded the latest software and now it is unusable and HELP is no help.
