We have already ordered two of these and neither have worked. I would have caution before purchasing one of these.

I would definitively recommend this product to all the users looking for a webcam. (note) If you don't have a USB 2.0 connection the video resolution is very bad, but if you have it just works great.

This is great for the price. I mean what do you really expect over the internet? And if you are using Skype, then the most problems you will have will be Skype, not the camera. Visual quality is fair and the audio works also.

Already had a webcam from logitech notebook pro, which I purchased for around $40.00. Got this Lifecam VX5000 for my parent's for $18.99 (free shipping). The Lifecam is so much better than the expensive one. It adjusts to low light or bright light conditions within seconds. And a cool feature is the software that comes with Lifecam, which allows for funny skewing of the captured image using face recognition - like large eyes, small eyes, large nose, alien head, super-imposed masks, etc. And all that without compromising the chat quality. It was fun chatting with my nephews. Very satisfied. Definitely recommended. Will purchase another one to replace my existing logitech notebook pro.

I have never experienced a cam like this before this camera does as it says 2.0MP web view and 8.0MP still pics this is a must have for relatives to share photo's and voice conferencing. Very Good product by Microsoft and wonderful price by Amazon.com.

Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 (68C-00001) Worked real nice for a couple of days then it just quit. The light would come on but no cam.

The picture is great, sound is great -- IF YOU WON'T BE USING IT FOR FACEBOOK, MYSPACE, YOUTUBE, ETC ETC.This product would not work on any websites (with a black screen with a multicolored strip of noise on the bottom on the screen), but if I opened it up on the regular screen it would work fine. I called the number they had provided in order to trouble shoot it, but all the guy could tell me is that it should be compatible for other sites and that he does not work for Facebook or Myspace so he doesn't know why this is happening.If you want to use it for webchatting, it works great otherwise I wouldn't really suggest this product. Just stick with a Logitech.

I found some minor issues with this WebCam:(1) I cound not mount it to the top screen cover of my laptop (an IBM T series) (2) The video quality is poor using an older USB 1.1 port. Conclusion: Microsoft expects you to use a 2.0 port with this WebCam. No biggie!

The image was incredibly grainy. We tried maxing out the lights, playing with the settings, nothing helped. I can't believe Microsoft is selling this as a higher-end camera. We have two other webcams to compare it to, an iSight hooked up to a mac mini and a built in camera in the EeePC 1000HA. Both are light years better than this piece of junk. Returned it that day.

This cam is a nightmare would not install it has a hardware problem. I spent five hours with tech support only to find out Microsoft has so many complaints about this cam. Customers are calling them and they promise to fix problem but have been avoiding the public consumer. This is fact and NOT A LIE. Sincerely angry consumer Shame on you microsoft!

The software wouldn't load - couldn't get it to work from the website, the CD, etc. Read some reviews on boards after I tried and found others had the same problem.Had to return it.

The Good:*Compatible with most, if not all, chat programs out there.*Flexible stand gives you an option to make it stand by you or mount it on your monitor.The Bad:*Flexible stand may not easily attach to some non-rectangular edged monitors.The Bottom Line:Great webcam that comes with an installation CD. Seems to work with most chat programs(Skype, MSN, etc...) The flexible stand is great, but may fall-off certain odd-shaped monitors, as it seems to be made for rectangular edged monitors. While the initial installation may take some time, that shouldn't shy anyone from buying this as your next webcam.

This little web cam with built in microphone was a great buy. I bought this for my son so I could see my little grand-daugthter online with Skype. It had a good picture and I was very happy with the purchase as was my son. Good product for the price!

I got this cam for $33, which I feel is quite good. Easy to install on Vista, working as expected. I would recommend this one for people who doesnt want to spend more money with decent quality.

To be quite honest with you, its still in the box it came in. I have yet to install and use it..... not that its something I didn't want... just been lazy. But it sure looks good in the box...... so I'm not sure this review will help at all.....

I bought this webcam to use with skype. It works great. The video quality is good even in full screen mode on a 17" monitor. I also have a Logitech Quickcam Chat and Quickcam Fusion. This camera is much better. What I liked best is the video quality under normal and even low light. With the Fusion, I always needed a lamp, even with good room lighting. For $25, you really can't really find too many flaws with this cam.

Just purchased this camera and for the money, no complaints. Was bought to do video calls with my family while they were on vacation in Australia. We are connecting using Skype and it works flawlessly. There is no delay between the calls and my family can hear/see me with no issues. My only gripe with this cam is it doesn't come with any software to allow you to change/alter your voice (at least I haven't found any drivers that allow it). Overall worth the price.

Video quality is clear, and motion is fairly clean (not so many frame skips that it looks like stop-motion). My pets have graciously put it through QC testing (it's taken a fall on a few occasions), and it has passed every test so far so I'd say it's durable.

easy to install & use. our family bought 4. now we "visit" regularly with distant family members including one daughter who lives on the other coast & is expecting. being able to see her during her pregnancy has been especially wonderful.
