Logitech headset/microphone combo seems to have a real hard time working even with XP. Everything is Microsoft's problem in the words of their tech support. Even when the head set will not work with 3 different computers all of which are up-to-date.

When I type in the keyword "USB HEADSET"; I expect a group of products that are oh I dunno ... USB HEADSETS. I ordered this because it was well priced and it had good reviews and it came up on the list of USB HEADSETS. Guess what folks, it's mot a USB headset. I read several item descriptions and ultimately made my decision based on the reviews instead of the descriptions. Bad idea. I have wasted $20 since my headset jacks don't f'ing work and I needed something USB compatible. My advice to Amazon is to find a way to seperate your keyword terms so things that people want are not mixed in with a bunch of crap that they don't want. I can hardly blame the seller for this. This is Amazon's keywords not filtering out non-USB headsets and then it's my fault for not SEEING that it wasn't despite the 2 hours I looked through the headsets. I am VERY disappointed.

I got these headphones today. Sound quality wise, they sound great in the headphones at least to me. I read some reviews about not enough bass, yet they sound fine to me and there is bass. Maybe these reviewers were expecting something bass heavy for rap 'music' or whatnot. The microphone part of it sounds decent enough, there is a little bit of distortion/echo after you are done talking, but it's not a big deal really. Otherwise, the sound is clear and works just fine. My only real complaint is that the headphones ARE a little small, so beware anyone without a small head. They do fit, but after a few minutes they start to feel awkward on my ears, not the headphones but the plastic part behind the ear. All in all, these are a decent pair of headsets that get my needs done just fine (voice recognition and recording for various language learning software) and I recommend them, just keep in mind they may be uncomfortable if you don't have a small head. By the way, these are a 3.5 MM connection set of headphones, which I prefer. No drivers or spare USB ports needed!

I've owned three of these headsets over the years and it's always the workhorse that I go back to. I'm a gamer and a movie/streaming watcher when it comes to my computer usage and the one thing I love the most about this headset is how it feels like it's not there. I've had "better" higher-priced headsets such as ones from the Steel Series, but there is definitely no behind-the-head headset that is more comfortable and light for the PC. The microphone is also superb, letting your voice come clear and crisp and the sound quality is good, although you won't get the bass or sound quality that you'd expect for avid music virtuosos. The lifespan of these headsets for me have been approximately 3 years a piece or so (one of mine broke due to misplacement that caused physical damage). I highly recommend this headset for people looking for a great budget headset who can afford to spend a little more than $10 cheap headset (that will undoubtedly break within a few months to a year), but don't want to fork over anymore for something serviceable for gaming and chatting needs.

I had first bought this product somewhere else a few years ago. After some wear and heavy use, the wire for the microphone caused static sounds, which were loud to the party at the other end of the conversation. (The headset worked well during the 2-year warranty and I only had trouble afterward.) I liked the headset much more than the other options out there, so I bought the exact headset again on Amazon. The replacement works wonderfully, and the mic arm swivels more smoothly than the first one I had bought. I love the easy access mute and sound controls. The 8' cord is a must for me. It is sleek and lightweight, but the headband is not adjustable. Even so, it stays in place. It might get in the way if you have your hair pulled back. I gave it 2 stars in the comfort category because after about two hours of use, the headset hurts the tops of my ears. I don't think many other headsets would be much better, because they're all bound to pinch eventually. In a few years, when I am looking to buy another headset, I will probably buy this one again. It's not just a nice headset for its price range, it's also just a really great headset.

I wouldn't recommend thisLogitech ClearChat Style Headset as the microphone didn't even last for 2 months. I had one earlier but the headphone was died and this time, its the microphone. Get better ones rather than this.

Very disappointed in this product. Within 30 days my microphone stopped working for online chat. within another 30 days the sound in the headset portion of this product stopped working on the left earphone. Now at another 30 days I still have to jiggle the wires to make any sound come out of these headsets. This is not the first time I've experienced this with these types of headsets, I've come to believe that they are made to fail within 60-90 days. Can anyone refer a product that works for more than 30 days? Thank you. A very unsatisfied Logitech customer.

It is a headset, so first and foremost, it must be worn on your head and this is where this headset fails. It is sized for a child, perhaps, but no normal adult will find it comfortable to wear for any period of time. The size is just too small and so it is too tight. I stretched mine out a bit, but by the end of the day, it is pinching again. Also, the gap for the top of your ear is very small and it starts to pinch there too, that is, if you can wear it long enough for it to start hurting your ears. I had a product very similar to this one (Logitech 981-000074 880 PC Headset) and it was much more comfortable. The mic broke and so I figured I'd get another model. This one looks like the next logical step. It is a step, a step backwards. The sound quality is good, but that all seems secondary to the fact that it is too uncomfortable to wear for any period of time. I would not recommend this product.

Had 2 of these go bad in a couple months. First one side of the headphones will fade in and out and then the mic dies.

Here is a story about this seller which is the best one I have ever seen. Because of receiving a headset with very minor defect in its cord, I was unhappy and contact seller about this issue. He contacts me quickly and promises me to send a whole new replacement. I got my headset within one week after contacting seller. I enjoy my purchase very much right now and does not waste any bucks of my money for this purchase.In general, I strongly recommend anyone to do business with this top seller!! 100 % positive recommendation

Good Headset does get a little uncomfortable around the ears if you keep them on for a really long time 5+ hours, at least for me. Sound comes in great and the mic works great as well picks up your voice real good without it having to be in your mouth. The headset itself fits snugly on your head too which is nice. Had no problems getting it to work either just plugged it in and was good to go.

The logitech headset was worth the money. there are no issues about the voice quality on either side. both the microphone and the speakers are performing well. the plastic body of the headset is hardy enough to be twisted and turned as one might have it when lying on a pillow. all in all is was a good purchase for me. Though it could have been more comfortable with a smaller headset size but then it would cost more.

No matter how many Logitech products I purchase I am consistently reminded of their quality. I love the sound that comes from this small, portable headset. Over voice chat, people say that the sound quality is very good and clear. The only drawback to this headset for me is that it is a little tight-fitting, even for my small head.

it hurts my ears and my friends too. because it is behind your head, it is not possible to rest your head on the back of chair or couch, so don't use this if you want to relax at the same time. I suggest getting one that goes over your head instead.

This item is not as good a deal as it looks. It's poorly made, and the mic is horrible. It's tiny, and doesn't reach my mouth at all. Even when I put the mic input volume to the maximum, I have to either yell or physically hold the mic with my hand near my head in order for the other person to hear me. It would be fine for a younger person, but it does not comfortably fit an adult.It also has a very unpleasant plastic odor to it.I do not recommend that anyone buy this product.

I bought this for my girlfriend. The headset itself took a while for her to get it fitting so that it was comfortable. But once she did there wasn't a problem. The sound quality is pretty good. We are having this problem of random noise, but I believe that it's because the connection is bad.

while it worked for 2 months after i bought it it eventually started going out. after 2 months! during those 2 month i admit i was in love. no longer. now it constantly goes out in one side unless i hold my head at jsut the right angle

I was amazed at the quality of this item considering the very low price, but then I am nearly always pleased with Logitech products. This headset has the behind-the-head feature that I had never used before, however, it is quite comfortable. I use the headset for 2 functions: 1) voice recognition program, and, 2) stereo headphones for music. It works very well for both uses. There is also an inline volume control and microphone mute button on a generously long cord. I would definitely buy again - for the price, you cannot beat this item!

This headset works great, it has the separate jacks for the microphone and headset, so no drivers are needed, and will work with ANY device. They are reasonably comfortable, nice and small, and look good. The microphone works brilliantly, and for the price you cannot beat this. Logitech has always made great products, and this is no exception.

Recently my headset of some years had broken, and so I went through the journey of finding a replacement set and I'm glad to say that it ended here. Now, I'm not an audiophile, what I needed was a microphone good enough to transmit my voice clearly and some headphones that could play some decent sound through them, and for that purpose these do great. They feel very durable, the headset as a whole produces and transmits clear sound, and they're very cheap at only $10! All in all, I'm really happy with it.

They look cool in the picture, but they are extreamly tight, even for my small head, and they pinch on the ears when on, as well as having a tendency to fall and not stick to your ears to well, I ended up throwing them away and using the broken ones I have now because even with the fuzz the sound is better.

This has been awesome for my casual gaming. They sound great at low to medium levels, and have adequate response. Don't expect heavy bass, but for about 25 bucks it's a good deal. Good microphone response and the fit is nice.

If you want to save yourself time and money don't take a chance on this headset. I did, and I should have listen to the advice of past buyers. The headset looks nice. Is comfortable, but did not work right out of the box. After spending a large amount of time with out being able to get the mic to work I gave up. I will put it under a lesson learned. Take my advice, save up and get something that has some quality. The old saying "you get what you pay for" is true in this case.

I have brought this headset 1 week back. I was excited with the sleek design and volume control addon. But I must tell you this does not fit or adjust well around your ears. Its so rigid that even your ears starts paining at times. I suppose i have to keep stretching it daily so that it comforts me.I would suggest a more bigger headset coz you would like to have a good headphone which you are comfortable with. A big no for those who wants good ergonomically designed headset

I used to use a logitech mic but for some reason people couldn't really hear me. I'm a gamer (MMO) and it can be really important for others to hear me. So I decided to try out a headset. The price was perfect for my budget. And now everyone can hear me crystal clear. Sometimes too clear and they have to adjust their volume :) I definitely recommend this product!

I owned the headset for three months and used it only occasionally because of it's poor quality. When I first bought it and plugged it in I found that the sound was far too quiet when speaking into the mic so I had to turn up the software amplifiers which made the sound static-y and unpleasant. Then after three months the sound wore off all together and only static could be heard in recordings.I didn't have any problem with the way it fit on my head and the quality of the speakers were robot-like but not terrible.

I ordered this, it arrived speedily, it worked for a week, and now the left headphone doesn't work. I ordered this through Amazon.com and so far there has been no response on replacing it...

Although it says that headset works with Mac, it does not work at all. Yes you can hear in headset, but the microphone is completely incompatible with the Mac OS and not recognized as external mic.

At the time of this writing the item page on Amazon says this headset works with both PC and Mac. However, on receiving the headset I noticed the box only says it works with a PC. Nevertheless I tried it on my Mac and sure enough, the microphone doesn't send any data to the computer. I'm sure it works great on a PC, and the audio output worked fine - I could hear people on Skype - but they couldn't hear me. In case you're wondering, yes I checked that my settings in Skype were correct.So, do not buy this product if you intend to use it on your Mac. Experience has shown that your best bet is to go to a store and make sure it says on the box that it's compatible with Mac.

I use this headset for Skype calls -- great audio quality both listening and speaking. Also use it for other audio on my computer, so I can enjoy the sound but others around me don't have to. Very comfortable, even over my glasses. This headset is a good value.

good, especially for the price, CLEAR, GREAT SOUND. The mic works well too. I got myself a phone number thingy through skype so I can call people from my comp since I HAVE NO CELL reception in my house. This gets the job done I like it!

I bought this headset so I could listen to Internet radio at work. The sound quality is surprisingly good. The fit is comfortable (much better than ear buds). The sound control device is handy. I don't need the microphone and would just as soon detach it, but that does not seemm to be possible.Logitech also makes a wireless version of this headset Logitech 981-000068 ClearChat Wireless USB Headset - Black, but for about four times the cost.

A little uncomfortable, the sound isn't good for gaming so much, but I kind of expected that. The changeable color feature is lame, they include a couple of different cheap plastic pieces to change out for the red which seems pointless to me. Perhaps if they were just headphones that I would wear around town with my Zune, but these are meant for sitting at the computer where I am not looking to make a fashion statement. Overall they do the job, but are cheap.I'd buy them for again if they were $9.99 not $23

This headset would have been great, if it weren't for the backstrap that cut into my ears so badly. This headset is so uncomfortable, I wonder if logitech even tried wearing this before they started selling it. The mike quality is great, and the sound quality from the speakers are pretty average. Do not buy this unless you plan on building up calluses in between your ears.

This headset is very light and comfortable, provides great sound quality, and is relatively cheap. Great for long hours of gaming, voice chatting, or just listening to music. Comes with come cool color plates that you can interchange to your likes. One of the best features is that it has a built in mic on/off switch along with a volume control right on the cable for easy access. I would highly recommend this headset to anybody!

Headset is good for chatting, not great for gaming, cuts out sometimes. But that was not its intended use, so it works well for what its supposed to do. Color changes are irrelevant, and over ear style is a bit uncomfortable long term. Otherwise the rotating mic is convenient, and I am overall happy with the purchase/ value for the money.*EDIT* mic stopped working after less than 1 year of casual use. Headphones still playback though.
