Would recommend this product with some CAVEATS: read below. Including if you are having problems... how to remedy them.Hi, I received this dongle included with the TV (LG 32LD550) that I bought. The set up wasn't plug and play. For those expecting technology - Especially relatively new technology (only the last couple of years have TVs been networked) to be as simple as turning on a 1990 CRT it's just not always that way.The goods:Once connected and getting a signal it's fast enough to stream HDX movies (1080P) from online movie services like VUDU. And it's more than up for the job of streaming Netflix... (both services built into the upper middle tier of LG TV's Like LD550 & LE5400 (etc.) and above models. (See LGs matrix for on any Amazon LG TV page).New models will be out soon as these last years models dry up!THIS DONGLE IS REQUIRED for LG TV wireless use. While there ARE a few work around(s) they are not completely wireless. This dongle right now is $37. The closest work around alternative is finding a Wireless router (that can be flashed to DD-WRT or Tomato and then operated in Wireless Bridge mode (of if the router's own firmware will allow this)... There are deals ever month for Routers after rebate in that price range. BUT you then have to use your existing router to communicate with it, and wire the second (wireless router set as an Access point) with an ethernet cable into the TV. (not as clean & nice as this set-up).THE BADS:Unfortunately, LG's design of this dongle has a donut hole (a glaring problem). In certain configurations between location of the router & position of the TV; the TV itself because it pins the USB dongle right up next to it, acts as both a shield (blocking reception) and allows electrical interference from the very same TV we are all trying to network. For those of you who plugged it in and it works (perfectly or pretty well, or even good) out of the box 8-) no need to peacock around, as the position of components can make all the difference in the world! LOL on the well It worked for me so others must be doing something wrong!Suggestions for people having trouble:1st thing: Power cycle (unplug for 30sec - 1min) both your modem & router, then plug back in your modem & wait until all but the link or comparable light are back on, then plug in your router. 2nd Thing: Temporarily turn off (I mean temporarily for the few minutes - to 1 hour you will be trouble shooting) your wireless networks encryption. It will just make set-up and automatic detection so much easier. (If for some reason the DNS and Gateway aren't filled in automatically you don't have your router set up properly for this. Then use an ethernet cable and set it up first wired. Copy down the data for DNS, Gateway, though the IP will end in a different number (most likely) when using your wireless dongle.Anyway, if using the automatic settings don't fill in the data then simply turning on the correct settings in your router will fix take care of you. (If you don't know how ask a friend who does or read the manual)...---------------------------------------------------OK, so it fills in the fields correctly on your LG TV (IP, DNS, Gateway) and but you still don't have internet connectivity, or it comes and goes... GRRRR!!Unlike with say a laptop where under the bezel around ==>(usually) the hole monitor screen, the wireless antenna is wrapped to give it not only a strong & powerful signal for sending & receiving data, these dongles are the wireless card & antenna all crammed into one. Further, it's very close to the case (back) of the LG TV. From behind, above, below, or off to the sides the router should still be able to reach the LG dongle. But there are a whole array of positions where the TV will shield the signal strength, or cause intermittent problems due to interference. I first tested my router about 10 feet away, directly in front of the front of the TV. I was able to connect (sometimes) other times the connection was lost, I was unable to connect to netflix or vudu bc the connection would (break). It took me a while get my head out of the myopic (MY DANG DONGLE IS BROKEN --> too many people "always" want to jump to that conclusion FIRST instead of testing & only reaching those conclusions LAST after extensive trial & error and systematic testing! = I WAS NO EXCEPTION!!I treated it like I would if I was called into fix or repair the situation, the Abc's of wireless. Was there a signal present (meaning was my modem & wireless router working?)= CHECK. DHCP/DNS working & assigning setting things correctly? = CHECK. Is the TV getting that properly configured wireless signal = HMMM While the wireles (indicator in the menu shows what looks like full bars... IDK if that truly works or is a proper indicator.POSIT: what if the TV is NOT getting via that dongle the full / signal or it's being blocked?Analyze: The TV case, in my orientation, does block the device even though it's wireless doe

I recently purchased an LG AN-WF100 Wi-Fi USB adaptor to connect my LG Smart TV to the wireless network within my home. Although the TV would connect perfectly over a wired connection to the router, it would consistently fail to establish a connection over Wi-Fi.The TV could see the router, and reported a medium signal strength. After selecting this router for attempted connection, and entering the password, the connection could not be established, even though I was certain that the password was correct. After a lot of time searching on the internet, I found a user who had spent almost two months researching the problem, before stumbling on a solution which involved connecting the AN WF100 to the TV using an USB extension lead, allowing it to be moved out from it's normal position where it is hidden behind the TV.As soon as I tried this, the TV could see the router with a much improved signal strength, and also could see other routers from the neighbouring properties. This time, on entering the password for the router the connection was established immediately !I would suggest that those people who have no problem establishing a Wifi connection to their TV when using the AN WF100 adaptor, are able to do so because the signal path from the router to the USB adaptor is unimpeded, but if (as in my house)the signal path from the router to the USB adaptor has to pass through the TV screen, then the adaptor doesn't work because the TV screen blocks the radio signal path. This is probably why so many people have given up on ever getting the product to work !This is clearly a significant design fault, and I for one am disappointed that such an obvious issue could have escaped undetected from the product testing process within LG. I hope that other users will find this post useful, as it could save a lot of time and frustration !

The wi-fi adaptor works perfectly, is small and extremely easy to set. The price is also very good for the value you get. Prior to buying this item I went to Best Buy and looked for an LG adaptor; they didn’t have any so they highly recommended me to use a Netgear. I took it home a little disappointed because of its size but I figured that would not be a problem if I would hide it behind the TV. However, it didn’t work. I tried everything but I could not get it to connect to the LG system. The LG AN-WF100 connected right away and even walked me through the set up process prompting me for the network key. I am extremely satisfied with this item and I highly recommend it if you have a LG TV or blue-ray …. The item arrived in perfect condition and the shipping was extremely fast so I highly recommend using this vendor!

I don't often write reviews but I have to say this thing works like a charm. I am not a tech-savvy person and I have no problems with the dongle connecting itself to the wireless router. The movie streaming is perfect and apparently my TV needed some software updates that I was unaware of so installing the dongle took care of that too. Best purchase I've made in a long time. Wish I'd done it 3 years ago when I purchased the TV. I use it with my LED Infinia - 47 inch.

This adaptor was very easy to set up.. I simply plugged the device into an available USB port on my LG TV and installation was complete. I turned the TV on, went to settings, and configured the device to access my wireless network. Set up completed, I turned the TV on and enjoyed the benefits of streaming online movies and TV shows wirelessly. No wires, no mess, no fuss.

SHORT VERSION: If you have an LG tv with netcast and absolutely want a wireless wifi connection, then this will work for you...but...-----------------------USED WITH: LG 42" LED-LCD TV 120HZ (LE5400) and NETFLIX. My *ONLY* tv hookups are via Netflix wifi; this is the only thing I watch from (I stream several hours of TV a day).PROS:-WirelessCONS:-Does not fit in the tv usb slot correctly (see below)-Weak signal connection even when in the same room as the router (less than 10 feet away)-ODD signal errors (see below)-ONLY works via the NETCAST app (you can NOT use it to connect other programs to your tv)-REALLY expensive ($80!)First, the back of the TV has a sticker that says that USB devices with plastic around them might have difficulty fitting into the TV's usb slots. A great start that the LG USB Dongle does NOT meet the minimum recommended clearance on the sticker provided by the tv..you have to mash it in real hard (I felt like I was about to break it when it finally slid into place).Second, although it does work, I get signal errors ALOT. Oddly, 90% of my "connection" errors are during the menu navigation; once I start watching a movie it almost always works fine (although I have had more than one instance of it cutting out on me). If you just keep retrying the same action over and over, magically it will work. There is no way to "fix" this problem; my guess is that it is a weak signal although the tv does not say that (or anything helpful for that matter). Also along this line is that sometimes the streaming quality will suffer to avoid playback interruption (that is the video will get granier and lower quality because it can't stream fast enough) but this also sorts itself out pretty fast in like 10 seconds...still annoying.Thirdly, you can ONLY use this dongle to run netcast apps. If netcast doesn't support it, then the dongle does you no good (in other words, you can't stream any program you want from your pc to it). Perhaps this functionality is not necessarily implied so I don't hold it against the dongle here.Fourth, if you plan to use your pc in any way with your tv this is completely useless. If you plan on hooking up your tv, you can use HDMI 1.4 (newest standard supports ehternet, although computers haven't quite caught up yet...give it a few months) or just a classic cat-5 cable to wire in; since ur pc will need other wires to get to the tv anyway that one extra one doesn't matter too much.Ultimately, I find this dongle to work if you need to save that one wire and won't be hooking up your computer to your tv anyway. However, be prepared for occasional connection issues (easily resolved but annoying) even when your tv is only feet away from your router...I'm not sure how much worse the problem might get if you move more than 10 or 15 feet away (or go through a wall)For an $80 product, the signal strength and features are all lacking and the fact that it does not conform to LG's *OWN* specs for usb devices fitting on their tvs, I just can't recommend this.I bought mine for $37 at black friday. At 50% off, I am still returning it. However, if you can find it around the $40 price point it may be just good enough to do its just if you aren't picky...
