These are the first in-ear headphones that have ever stayed in my ears. The X2's offer 2 different tips in 3 sizes all included in the box. The comply tips work great for all around wear and activity not to mention the memory foam in the tips make these basically noise canceling. I have used these as ear plugs at the firing range. The standard tips are great for when its really wet via sweat or water.
The battery in these last all day. I wear these landscaping and they last a full 8 hour day at just about full volume. Recharging takes about 2 hours and it is recommended to charge via computer usb only.
The X2's look so fresh! All the new color schemes put Jaybird above the rest. I have the ALPHAS and they are so dope!
Finally, the sound in these headphones is mind blowing. I cant even listen to them on full volume in fear of further hearing loss. They are small but they pack a punch of that of a full sized, over the ear, headphone.
In conclusion, these headphones are the steeze and everyone i show them too wants a pair. If you value comfort and the ease of not having a cord to deal with all while looking fly do your self a favor and pick one these up and start powering your passion!

I'm going to split this review into 4 different sections.
Connection: absolutely amazing distance I went over 80 feet away from my device and no sound loss. Connection started fading after 100 feet but was still pumping out music and re established sync almost instantly.
Sound: the lows are great with the included comply buds, you absolutely have to have a good seal for the bass to really punch.
Mids were great and vocals sounded crisp and clear.
The highs were a bit tingly but only at higher volume levels.
Design: the bluebuds X were a very high bar to beat but the X2 manage to just that and set it even higher by introducing the new simpler design it introduces simple tones and makes them beautiful in a very compact shape and almost feel weightless when in your ear.
Battery: charged fully in under two hours and lasted me a workday and a workout so around ten hours later they were at 10%
Hope this review helped you, and I greatly recommend the X2's to any person looking for good quality bluetooth headphones

The sound quality is something I can be picky about when I buy a pair of headphones because I love hearing every little detail in the music and having the right pair goes a long way. One big thing about headphones is that I want them to last as long as possible and this year alone I have spent about $100 on headphones, because the wire gets to a point where I have to keep it a certain way just to listen to my music and it gets annoying really fast. Having these I don't have to worry about that problem anymore and I am much happier that I took a chance with these and I feel like it was worth the investment.

If you want gym headphones for occasional use, these are fine. However, you cannot justify this price for that kind of use and there are devices with similar designs now for much cheaper.
If you are somebody who keeps a headset on for any extended amount of time (work, travel, etc)....these will drive you mad with frustration.
I am backing to using my old broken tones that cost $40 for anything aside from gym.

While there may not be a "perfect" bluetooth headphone for exercise I think the X2 comes pretty close to it. The sond quality is on par with several Bose headphones I've had, which I think is quite a statement. I personally think Bose has overall the best sound quality in the market. I've had to replace my Bluebuds once due to a sweat issue but I can honestly say the bluebuds lasted longer than any other sports headphone I've tried. I was in to Motorola's big ones and replaced 4 within 4 months. The fit on the X2 is much better with the comply tips, so I got some comply tips for my bluebuds. Its a night and day difference.
Customer service as usual is top notch over at Jaybird. Its nice talking to real people that understand me and that I can understand( no offense to outsourced employees) but it does make my time dealing with them a ton better.
So yea, X2's, are now my #1 go to headset for exercise and will be until something better is released.

The upside being you'll have a terrific fit once you figure it out. A good fit is necessary to achieve the best audio experience, so don't give up. Once you've got these headphones fitting, the experience is excellent. Sound quality is crisp, with just the right amount of bass. The X2 features it's own controls that are simple and easy to use with your bluetooth device. The bluetooth microphone is excellent, and everyone I talk to with it say they couldn't even tell I was speaking to them through a bluetooth mic.
I use these for work-out and at my job. They are the best bluetooth headphones I've owned and have great battery-life. I can't recommend these enough if you are willing to spend the time to find the right fit.
(My fit is: Medium foam tips, with small wingtips, worn with the over-the-ear wrap)

I eat my words! I love love love the JayBirds. I recommend them to any one I know who does any sport. They are so comfortable for me (given there are 3 sizes of pads and wings you can get a good fit), they don't slip when I work out, walk or ride and I even use them in the bath while watching movies on my iPad.
I have now had them for over a year and the buds are as good as new, despite sweating all over them! No deterioration at all. The sound is superb and yes, they have a great range. I leave my phone in my bag and move around the gym, approximately 12 metres, and don't lose connection.
They are super easy to set up, even for a Tech dodo like me, and easy to use.
I have just bought a pair for my son for xmas……….he was jealous of mine! Yes they are pricey, but I think worth it. The Sony's were AUD$179.00 anyway so I'd rather the JayBirds for wire free convenience and sweat resistant materials.

If you get these and at first you can't get them to fit, do not give up because you'll be giving up on the best listening experience you can possibly get, for a reasonable price. Jaybird really outdid themselves with these... Wow

What an incredible difference! The X2's unique design is unlike any other when running. The fit is flawless and I don't have to worry about the buds or clips working loose, constantly adjusting, the band catching on my skin on the back of my neck and pulling to one side, etc. They're really quite worry free while running and never slow me down.
Battery life is as advertised, perhaps exceeds it a bit even.
The unboxing experience was quite slick and professional, and I love the travel container for the buds.
They're aesthetically pleasing and the sound quality is above average for the price bracket. They don't have quite as much kick as some brands, but it's certainly there and I appreciate the balanced sound, finding it pleasing and easier to enjoy over a long period of time such as running.
The cable tie up is a bit tricky, but once it's set the first time there's no need to mess with it again so I'm quite pleased there, and it resolves issues I've encountered with many other brands.
Overall Jaybird certainly deserves far more notoriety than their competitor brands. I have high hopes for this company and their unique, innovative products.

Style- I think this is an obvious strong point for JayBird. The X2's really stepped it up a notch and provide a really nice variety of matte color options to choose from. I have the ICE color which is blue and I receive a lot of compliments on the buds when I am working out.
Fit/comfort- The new comply foam covers for the buds are a big bonus. These are a nice memory foam that really allow the bud to shape to your ears. For me, the over ear option did not work well and was clearly not a good fit for the shape of my ears. I let the wire hang below my ears and around the back of my neck. I use these while doing resistance training, cardio training and even while playing basketball and they are yet to slip out of my ears.
Sound quality- The sound quality is superior with the X2's. I find that the comply foam really helps to lock the sound in the ear and provide the best listening experience possible. I typically listen to hip hop or rock and am impressed with the lows and highs that I get with these buds.
Value- I have tried other wireless buds and these are by far the best. You really do get what you pay for and these are an exceptional value if quality sound is important to you.

Before I discuss the negatives (price being the first), let me tell you what I really like about these headphones.
The tangle-free flat cable really looks and feels good quality. The overall design is very compact and it can easily fit in your pocket. The pairing was easy and fast. There is voice feedback for power on, pairing, power off, etc.
Here’s what I don’t like about these headphones. Although I received these headphones for free for an honest review, if I am to buy a pair of headphones priced at $180, I’m expecting premium sound with powerful bass, clear treble and distinct mid ranges. These headphones sound flat and I really mean ‘flat’. When I tried to adjust with equalizer, I get so much distortion with the bass that it is just unacceptable for headphones in this price range.
The other thing I don’t like about it is the fit. The smallest ear tips are rather large. If you have small ears, I do not recommend it.
The box it comes in is nice but the carrying case is oddly shaped and unnecessarily big for such small headphones.
If I had purchased these headphones, I’d be returning them. It all comes down to value. Are you getting your money’s worth? With these headphones, in my opinion, you are not.

Jaybird has squeezed even more battery life out of these, without sacrificing audio quality. (Keeping in mind, of course, that the audio quality on Bluetooth earbuds are going to be different from similarly-priced wired IEM's.) The range of most music is well represented in the X2's, with appropriate "thump" on kick drums, and voices that don't go shrill as they get higher. R&B and electronic music fans are likely to be less than impressed with the way the X2's manage the reproduction of bass without the "feel".
The most welcome addition in the X2's, hands down, is the inclusion of Comply tips. I've been buying them for years, so having them included is almost like saving $20. (And they're worth every penny!) The improved fit overall is really excellent. The large tips are really snug (they usually aren't on me) and the medium retaining clips are absolutely perfect. Unquestionably, the most secure and comfortable fit of any earphone I've used.
The biggest drawback is the microphone quality. In a word: dismal. It's almost unusable in a quiet room. Anything louder, and it's totally worthless, unless you're trying to baffle telemarketers for sport.

Sound quality doesn't compare in my opinion, the x2s win hands down. As well as the comfort There is plenty of sizing options to find comfort with in the event you have weird ears. The jbras needed something I don't know what, but something. I couldn't really ever find a happy place with them. With the X2, I found my combination and haven't looked back.
The only reason I'm only going four stars is that I don't like the case. They could have come up something better than this case. I'm not going to pout about the case, but I'll just merely wish it was better. It holds my earphones just fine but that doesn't mean I have to like the case.
I really like the X2's and would recommend them without question.

SIDE NOTE: I purchased my headphones from Best Buy directly as I wanted them right away and there was no price difference from Amazon and I did not think that Amazon would provide free returns on this. I do not know if that would have been the case or not

I first used the X2 on Thanksgiving day in below freezing temps for a half marathon. I'm an avid runner of long distances so, I need a pair of headphones that fit well and are comfortable cause I want to focus on my run and not my headphones.
Thankfully the X2 allowed me to do exactly that for my race. If it wasn't for the music I would have forgot I had them in. The comply foam tips are extremely comfortable and form to your ear canal for a custom fit. This blocked out a lot of the background noise and allowed a clean sound.
I mostly wear my Jaybird for running but, with how comfortable these new X2 are I think we'll be spending more time together.
My only advice if you're new to Jaybird headphones is be patient and follow the the videos on their website when using the X2 for the first time. It gives step by step instructions on everything you need from opening the box to getting the perfect fit so, you can experience them fully. Happy running!!

The company should have apologized and offered to send me a new pair at a noticeable discount for my inconvenience. When I brought that up, they offered me a silly 15% discount. They did say on the phone that they "only" have a 15% failure rate, but I find that a pretty noticeable failure rate and unacceptable for a product that's hype this much and so expensive. I was disappointed in the product and their customer service. It was ANYTHING but pro!

I purchased the original BlueBud X in April of 2013. I estimate that I used those headphones for north of 1,500 hours during that time. I ran with them (including two marathons), I travelled with them (on multiple cross country flights), heck - I even cooked with them on.
So you could imagine, I wasn't surprised that they "kicked the bucket" in October of 2015 - after 2.5 years of heavy, daily use. I figured I'd call Jaybird - just out of curiosity to see if they would offer me a discount on the new BBX2 due to my prior patronage. But I didn't expect much, as the product was out of warranty.
To my utter surprise, they offered me the new BBX2 in exchange for my now non-functional BBX. Zip, zero, nada. That's what I paid for my brand new BlueBud X2 headphones.
Not only is the product exceptional, consistent, reliable, and made with quality products, but Jaybird's customer service is second to none.
If you're on the fence about Bluetooth headphones - take the plunge. Jaybird will catch you on the otherside.

I had a pair of wireless headphones several years ago, I had them hooked up to the television so that I could watch and listen to shows while puttering around my living room and kitchen. But they were the big, over ear headphones and they made my ears sweat so much that I ended up with a boil inside of my right ear! Excrutiating.
These earbuds are a definite improvement.
I'd also like to comment on the fins. They seem like a silly style thing and I'm sad to report that I think that is exactly what they are. They didn't seem to improve sound quality.

First Impressions:
These are incredible! Coming from what I believe was Jaybirds first Bluetooth headphones, the X2 is incredible. Extremely quick connectivity and responsiveness to inputs, very useful voice prompts for things such as power and connection, incredible range (my JF3 had decent range, but worked best when the phone was on my armband on my right arm), and a much clearer microphone (the JF3 microphone was almost useless for calls).
Sound quality is great, but honestly, not a whole lot of bass. Now, for me, this isn't a problem because I use Poweramp Music Player on my phone; the app has, IMO, the most intense amplifier/equalizer of any music app, so my bass hits hard regardless. But for those of you streaming from other apps or from devices without the capability of a built in eq or amp, know that the bass is very average.
Otherwise, I love Jaybird, I love their products, and I love these headphones. Hopefully they last as long as my last pair.

SO they were great around the house/outside but running with them was another story. I am a treadmill runner so I wasn't outside with them but at a gym and they did allow for outside sound/noise, which is fine and I appreciate that as a safety issue. However, they just never felt comfortable. The silicon tips never fit my ears and always felt like they were going to fall out. I have long hair and when running the cord was a bit annoying with my ponytail if I put them in from behind and just seemed silly in front. I could just never get comfortable with them. Maybe I'm just a female with small ear canals?
