Sometimes the microphone is not working properly and I'm forced to use my cellphones mic. Most of the time though it works as designed.
They are suppose to be somewhat waterproof and usable in the shower. I haven't tried that. However I do sweat through my workout clothes everyday and these keep on working. Though I have had two that have eventually gone bad they were promptly replaced under warranty. Very nice of them. I put these through all their paces daily and I don't think they were designed for the abuse I dish out. But JayBird honors the warranties with no questions asked.
Sound quality is highly dependent on matching the eartip size to your ear. They supply several sizes. Once I matched the eartip size to my ear the sound quality is as good or better than anything else.
I highly recommend these but unfortunately JayBird has discontinued them in favor of something more expensive. I'll be buying the more expensive newer stuff when I have to. But until then these are far better than anything else available.
My need for these was different than others, I guess. I am not an exercise nut or a runner. I ride recumbent bikes, walk, and a little bit of yoga, so sweat is never going to be my problem. For all these activities the headphones were wonderful. It takes several attempts at finding the right fit so the sound is at its best and comfort is what it should be. The reason I grant 4 stars and not 5 stars is because of the difficulty of finding that fit. The sound quality is poor and they hurt your ears if you end up with the wrong fit. There is no good guide to help, only trial and error. I've never had this much trouble adjusting earbuds or headphones of any kind for fit. Why that is, I don't know.
Once you find the solution, the sound and comfort are unparalleled. These are my first wireless headphones, and I love them. Alongside their use in my activities, I use them for sleep aids. I have trouble sleeping often, and have been using my iTouch and the wired headphones to listen as I am in bed to help me get to dreamland. I either end up laying on my iTouch if I leave it on the bed or pull it off the night table. Either way it causes problems. Now, I can put these on the night stand and have no worries. They WORK! These are so much better!
To sum up my review below, if I were to purchase one of the two again, I would have to go with the Jaybird X2.
I got these direct from the manufacturer. Just opened the box and set it all up. The setup is pretty straightforward and a lot more customizations than the Jabra Pulse. I LOVE the memory foam option, it allows for those times when I don't need to hear ambient noise like when I'm on the treadmill. The Jabra hurts my ears after a time, but the Jaybird is a nice comfortable fit.
The sound on the X2 is much better as well. The bass on both has something to be desired, but I'm not really looking for recording headphones when I'm working out.
The battery life on the X2 is MUCH better than the Pulse. Now I know that some of that is because the Pulse has the heart rate monitor- which I thought I would miss, but I don't.
I will say the customization setup for both of them is a bit difficult, but slightly more so for the X2, but once everything is set up, I never had to worry about either. I haven't had the X2 as long as the Pulse, but my Pulse earphone rubber is wearing off because you have to stretch it to get to the battery, whereas the X2 has a compartment that doesn't deal with the ear customizations and I really love that.
All in all, I really love the Jaybird X2's and will probably be setting aside my pulse for a while.
I also had a lot of trouble getting these to switch from my iphone to my skype for use; each time it involved turning them and my device off and re connecting to the bluetooth in question. So these are not going to work well for any on-the-fly switching, though they do work on each device I tried...I just couldn't switch without a good deal of finagling each time.
The Jaybird comes with 6 different ear-size adapters in two different styles (silicone and foam) so you can pick which one is most comfortable and secure for you. I really appreciated this. Also appreciated is that the foam earbuds do such a good job of noise-blocking that I can hear even an audiobook while on the rowing machine without the volume all the way up.
The packaging was really, really well done and gives you the sense that this is a very high-end product. It would make a very impressive gift for this reason.
My primary complaint, like many other reviewers, is the sound. It isn't bad, it just isn't great. In sports earbuds, we shouldn't be surprised that we aren't getting an audiophile experience. But to be honest the sound coming out of these has been a step below what I would have expected. But that only matters on some songs and when I'm treally trying to pay attention to music quality.
For me the comfort and secure fit stil make me pop these in my ears when I am working out or running even if the sound quality isn't quite what I would have wanted.
But these headphones overcome both of my biggest complaints: headphones not staying in properly and me accidentally swiping the cable and disconnecting my phone: the first these handle by providing various size of foam ear buds that expand to fill your ear. You can feel them filling up your ear when you pick the right size, and the second by being wireless. To me these are two huge advantages, but you are also paying a good deal more for these than "normal" headphones to get these advantages. And the sound quality is not any better than with "normal" headphones. Because sound quality is also important I only gave four stars, but if you want headphones that stay in and that are wireless, these are amazing. I haven't run outside with them - since they connect with bluetooth you'd still need yo carry your phone with you anyway, but inside on a treadmill these are ideal.
The Jaybird X2's have a premium feel to them. There is a feeling of good design all the way down to the case. The flexibility for a custom fit makes it great for most users, I'd imagine. After getting the right fit, I found myself able to move a great deal and still unable to jar them lose.
The battery life has been very good. You get a full day (if you are using them for general use and not limited exercise runs). If using for exercise/running, you'll easily get multiple days of use before needing a charge. Even in the office, I can complete a day, then hook them up for charging without any problems. While this is my first set of Jaybird headphones, I haven't experienced the same battery life with other brands.
While the X2's are pricey, they do have a premium feel and design. I've been impressed with the quality. The sound is equally impressive. By no means am I an audiophile, but the music has had great sound and excellent bass tones. Better yet, calls have been clear. Noise blocking is on par with similar pairs. By no means are they equal to noise cancellation devices, but they do a pretty good job.
Overall, the X2's have been impressive and definitely worth putting into consideration on your next headphone purchase.
The sound quality of this item is just ok. The sound is not bad, but for the price I expected to hear something better. With that said, if you have a tin ear then pass on these headphones. By tin ear, I mean that you cannot discern the difference in sound between mono and stereo, or everything sounds the same to you. People with a tin ear will not gain anything from this product.
Connectivity
I had no issues connecting this headphone to my Samsung Note 2 cell phone. I have connected so many blue tooth devices to my phone to where I knew how to do it. Otherwise connectivity would have been an issue.
Storage Case
Herein lies the issue. I could not for the life of me figure out what that big case was. I thought it was some type of wireless device. Next I was looking for a charging port that I could not find. Finally I decided to press on the sides of the case and the lid slowly started opening. Maybe this would not have been an issue with a younger person, but the older crowd, like myself, needed some instructions or some type of insert stating this was a case.
Operation
I got through it. Not sure of what I was doing but I got sound. Instructions needed here too.
Packaging
The packaging of this product is impressive. I giving this as a gift, the sender will not be embarrassed.
Overall thoughts
This is a nice earphone set. The problem is the price seems to be on the high side. Plus at this price, instructions should be included.
KRN
I tried and liked the foam earpieces and ear fins so much that I didn't try anything else from the set. The foam earpieces fit very much like foam earplugs that are in common use for (for example) loud road construction work. They block out outside noise to make it easy to concentrate on your sound or music source. And the earfins are excellent for keeping the earpieces in place. I pretty much never have to adjust or otherwise press back in to place the earpieces when configured with the foam and fins. The device is adjustable in many ways, including a fit that puts the cord behind your head while in use so that it's not in your way.
When I used these with my laptop, the connection was rock solid; it connected right away and never disconnected while in use. With another device, the connection wasn't as stable; but I'm willing to blame it on the other device.
Pairing and otherwise using the headset is easy. Voice prompts tell you what's happening all the time--power on/off, and pairing status.
If you want lightweight headphones with a fully configurable fit and state-of-the-art cord handling and earpiece holding, or you want a set of great-sounding Bluetooth headphones, look no further.
Anyway, I'm updating my review, such as it is. Very, very pleased with the ear buds at present! Nice sturdy build quality, great and varied selections of fins and ear pieces which should accommodate any size ear! Great sound quality which easily rivals my wired ear buds in every way save for that very annoying cord!
I wear them in the 'under' style, but you have the option of the 'over' style if you don't like the back of the ear bud wire resting on your neck. I don't mind it in the least.
My only complaint thus far is how long it takes them to actually charge. I'm 90 minutes in and they still have not fully charged. I know it usually takes around 2 hours, but they are supposed to come with a bit of a charge from the factory. Perhaps it's been awhile and they just needed the juice.
Anyway, as I use them I may update this to 5 stars in the near future.
Definitely happy I picked up a pair!
These are the first in-ear headphones that have ever stayed in my ears. The X2's offer 2 different tips in 3 sizes all included in the box. The comply tips work great for all around wear and activity not to mention the memory foam in the tips make these basically noise canceling. I have used these as ear plugs at the firing range. The standard tips are great for when its really wet via sweat or water.
The battery in these last all day. I wear these landscaping and they last a full 8 hour day at just about full volume. Recharging takes about 2 hours and it is recommended to charge via computer usb only.
The X2's look so fresh! All the new color schemes put Jaybird above the rest. I have the ALPHAS and they are so dope!
Finally, the sound in these headphones is mind blowing. I cant even listen to them on full volume in fear of further hearing loss. They are small but they pack a punch of that of a full sized, over the ear, headphone.
In conclusion, these headphones are the steeze and everyone i show them too wants a pair. If you value comfort and the ease of not having a cord to deal with all while looking fly do your self a favor and pick one these up and start powering your passion!
I'm going to split this review into 4 different sections.
Connection: absolutely amazing distance I went over 80 feet away from my device and no sound loss. Connection started fading after 100 feet but was still pumping out music and re established sync almost instantly.
Sound: the lows are great with the included comply buds, you absolutely have to have a good seal for the bass to really punch.
Mids were great and vocals sounded crisp and clear.
The highs were a bit tingly but only at higher volume levels.
Design: the bluebuds X were a very high bar to beat but the X2 manage to just that and set it even higher by introducing the new simpler design it introduces simple tones and makes them beautiful in a very compact shape and almost feel weightless when in your ear.
Battery: charged fully in under two hours and lasted me a workday and a workout so around ten hours later they were at 10%
Hope this review helped you, and I greatly recommend the X2's to any person looking for good quality bluetooth headphones
The sound quality is something I can be picky about when I buy a pair of headphones because I love hearing every little detail in the music and having the right pair goes a long way. One big thing about headphones is that I want them to last as long as possible and this year alone I have spent about $100 on headphones, because the wire gets to a point where I have to keep it a certain way just to listen to my music and it gets annoying really fast. Having these I don't have to worry about that problem anymore and I am much happier that I took a chance with these and I feel like it was worth the investment.
If you want gym headphones for occasional use, these are fine. However, you cannot justify this price for that kind of use and there are devices with similar designs now for much cheaper.
If you are somebody who keeps a headset on for any extended amount of time (work, travel, etc)....these will drive you mad with frustration.
I am backing to using my old broken tones that cost $40 for anything aside from gym.
While there may not be a "perfect" bluetooth headphone for exercise I think the X2 comes pretty close to it. The sond quality is on par with several Bose headphones I've had, which I think is quite a statement. I personally think Bose has overall the best sound quality in the market. I've had to replace my Bluebuds once due to a sweat issue but I can honestly say the bluebuds lasted longer than any other sports headphone I've tried. I was in to Motorola's big ones and replaced 4 within 4 months. The fit on the X2 is much better with the comply tips, so I got some comply tips for my bluebuds. Its a night and day difference.
Customer service as usual is top notch over at Jaybird. Its nice talking to real people that understand me and that I can understand( no offense to outsourced employees) but it does make my time dealing with them a ton better.
So yea, X2's, are now my #1 go to headset for exercise and will be until something better is released.
The upside being you'll have a terrific fit once you figure it out. A good fit is necessary to achieve the best audio experience, so don't give up. Once you've got these headphones fitting, the experience is excellent. Sound quality is crisp, with just the right amount of bass. The X2 features it's own controls that are simple and easy to use with your bluetooth device. The bluetooth microphone is excellent, and everyone I talk to with it say they couldn't even tell I was speaking to them through a bluetooth mic.
I use these for work-out and at my job. They are the best bluetooth headphones I've owned and have great battery-life. I can't recommend these enough if you are willing to spend the time to find the right fit.
(My fit is: Medium foam tips, with small wingtips, worn with the over-the-ear wrap)
I eat my words! I love love love the JayBirds. I recommend them to any one I know who does any sport. They are so comfortable for me (given there are 3 sizes of pads and wings you can get a good fit), they don't slip when I work out, walk or ride and I even use them in the bath while watching movies on my iPad.
I have now had them for over a year and the buds are as good as new, despite sweating all over them! No deterioration at all. The sound is superb and yes, they have a great range. I leave my phone in my bag and move around the gym, approximately 12 metres, and don't lose connection.
They are super easy to set up, even for a Tech dodo like me, and easy to use.
I have just bought a pair for my son for xmas……….he was jealous of mine! Yes they are pricey, but I think worth it. The Sony's were AUD$179.00 anyway so I'd rather the JayBirds for wire free convenience and sweat resistant materials.
If you get these and at first you can't get them to fit, do not give up because you'll be giving up on the best listening experience you can possibly get, for a reasonable price. Jaybird really outdid themselves with these... Wow
What an incredible difference! The X2's unique design is unlike any other when running. The fit is flawless and I don't have to worry about the buds or clips working loose, constantly adjusting, the band catching on my skin on the back of my neck and pulling to one side, etc. They're really quite worry free while running and never slow me down.
Battery life is as advertised, perhaps exceeds it a bit even.
The unboxing experience was quite slick and professional, and I love the travel container for the buds.
They're aesthetically pleasing and the sound quality is above average for the price bracket. They don't have quite as much kick as some brands, but it's certainly there and I appreciate the balanced sound, finding it pleasing and easier to enjoy over a long period of time such as running.
The cable tie up is a bit tricky, but once it's set the first time there's no need to mess with it again so I'm quite pleased there, and it resolves issues I've encountered with many other brands.
Overall Jaybird certainly deserves far more notoriety than their competitor brands. I have high hopes for this company and their unique, innovative products.
Style- I think this is an obvious strong point for JayBird. The X2's really stepped it up a notch and provide a really nice variety of matte color options to choose from. I have the ICE color which is blue and I receive a lot of compliments on the buds when I am working out.
Fit/comfort- The new comply foam covers for the buds are a big bonus. These are a nice memory foam that really allow the bud to shape to your ears. For me, the over ear option did not work well and was clearly not a good fit for the shape of my ears. I let the wire hang below my ears and around the back of my neck. I use these while doing resistance training, cardio training and even while playing basketball and they are yet to slip out of my ears.
Sound quality- The sound quality is superior with the X2's. I find that the comply foam really helps to lock the sound in the ear and provide the best listening experience possible. I typically listen to hip hop or rock and am impressed with the lows and highs that I get with these buds.
Value- I have tried other wireless buds and these are by far the best. You really do get what you pay for and these are an exceptional value if quality sound is important to you.
Before I discuss the negatives (price being the first), let me tell you what I really like about these headphones.
The tangle-free flat cable really looks and feels good quality. The overall design is very compact and it can easily fit in your pocket. The pairing was easy and fast. There is voice feedback for power on, pairing, power off, etc.
Here’s what I don’t like about these headphones. Although I received these headphones for free for an honest review, if I am to buy a pair of headphones priced at $180, I’m expecting premium sound with powerful bass, clear treble and distinct mid ranges. These headphones sound flat and I really mean ‘flat’. When I tried to adjust with equalizer, I get so much distortion with the bass that it is just unacceptable for headphones in this price range.
The other thing I don’t like about it is the fit. The smallest ear tips are rather large. If you have small ears, I do not recommend it.
The box it comes in is nice but the carrying case is oddly shaped and unnecessarily big for such small headphones.
If I had purchased these headphones, I’d be returning them. It all comes down to value. Are you getting your money’s worth? With these headphones, in my opinion, you are not.
Jaybird has squeezed even more battery life out of these, without sacrificing audio quality. (Keeping in mind, of course, that the audio quality on Bluetooth earbuds are going to be different from similarly-priced wired IEM's.) The range of most music is well represented in the X2's, with appropriate "thump" on kick drums, and voices that don't go shrill as they get higher. R&B and electronic music fans are likely to be less than impressed with the way the X2's manage the reproduction of bass without the "feel".
The most welcome addition in the X2's, hands down, is the inclusion of Comply tips. I've been buying them for years, so having them included is almost like saving $20. (And they're worth every penny!) The improved fit overall is really excellent. The large tips are really snug (they usually aren't on me) and the medium retaining clips are absolutely perfect. Unquestionably, the most secure and comfortable fit of any earphone I've used.
The biggest drawback is the microphone quality. In a word: dismal. It's almost unusable in a quiet room. Anything louder, and it's totally worthless, unless you're trying to baffle telemarketers for sport.
Sound quality doesn't compare in my opinion, the x2s win hands down. As well as the comfort There is plenty of sizing options to find comfort with in the event you have weird ears. The jbras needed something I don't know what, but something. I couldn't really ever find a happy place with them. With the X2, I found my combination and haven't looked back.
The only reason I'm only going four stars is that I don't like the case. They could have come up something better than this case. I'm not going to pout about the case, but I'll just merely wish it was better. It holds my earphones just fine but that doesn't mean I have to like the case.
I really like the X2's and would recommend them without question.
SIDE NOTE: I purchased my headphones from Best Buy directly as I wanted them right away and there was no price difference from Amazon and I did not think that Amazon would provide free returns on this. I do not know if that would have been the case or not
I first used the X2 on Thanksgiving day in below freezing temps for a half marathon. I'm an avid runner of long distances so, I need a pair of headphones that fit well and are comfortable cause I want to focus on my run and not my headphones.
Thankfully the X2 allowed me to do exactly that for my race. If it wasn't for the music I would have forgot I had them in. The comply foam tips are extremely comfortable and form to your ear canal for a custom fit. This blocked out a lot of the background noise and allowed a clean sound.
I mostly wear my Jaybird for running but, with how comfortable these new X2 are I think we'll be spending more time together.
My only advice if you're new to Jaybird headphones is be patient and follow the the videos on their website when using the X2 for the first time. It gives step by step instructions on everything you need from opening the box to getting the perfect fit so, you can experience them fully. Happy running!!
The company should have apologized and offered to send me a new pair at a noticeable discount for my inconvenience. When I brought that up, they offered me a silly 15% discount. They did say on the phone that they "only" have a 15% failure rate, but I find that a pretty noticeable failure rate and unacceptable for a product that's hype this much and so expensive. I was disappointed in the product and their customer service. It was ANYTHING but pro!
I purchased the original BlueBud X in April of 2013. I estimate that I used those headphones for north of 1,500 hours during that time. I ran with them (including two marathons), I travelled with them (on multiple cross country flights), heck - I even cooked with them on.
So you could imagine, I wasn't surprised that they "kicked the bucket" in October of 2015 - after 2.5 years of heavy, daily use. I figured I'd call Jaybird - just out of curiosity to see if they would offer me a discount on the new BBX2 due to my prior patronage. But I didn't expect much, as the product was out of warranty.
To my utter surprise, they offered me the new BBX2 in exchange for my now non-functional BBX. Zip, zero, nada. That's what I paid for my brand new BlueBud X2 headphones.
Not only is the product exceptional, consistent, reliable, and made with quality products, but Jaybird's customer service is second to none.
If you're on the fence about Bluetooth headphones - take the plunge. Jaybird will catch you on the otherside.
I had a pair of wireless headphones several years ago, I had them hooked up to the television so that I could watch and listen to shows while puttering around my living room and kitchen. But they were the big, over ear headphones and they made my ears sweat so much that I ended up with a boil inside of my right ear! Excrutiating.
These earbuds are a definite improvement.
I'd also like to comment on the fins. They seem like a silly style thing and I'm sad to report that I think that is exactly what they are. They didn't seem to improve sound quality.
First Impressions:
These are incredible! Coming from what I believe was Jaybirds first Bluetooth headphones, the X2 is incredible. Extremely quick connectivity and responsiveness to inputs, very useful voice prompts for things such as power and connection, incredible range (my JF3 had decent range, but worked best when the phone was on my armband on my right arm), and a much clearer microphone (the JF3 microphone was almost useless for calls).
Sound quality is great, but honestly, not a whole lot of bass. Now, for me, this isn't a problem because I use Poweramp Music Player on my phone; the app has, IMO, the most intense amplifier/equalizer of any music app, so my bass hits hard regardless. But for those of you streaming from other apps or from devices without the capability of a built in eq or amp, know that the bass is very average.
Otherwise, I love Jaybird, I love their products, and I love these headphones. Hopefully they last as long as my last pair.
SO they were great around the house/outside but running with them was another story. I am a treadmill runner so I wasn't outside with them but at a gym and they did allow for outside sound/noise, which is fine and I appreciate that as a safety issue. However, they just never felt comfortable. The silicon tips never fit my ears and always felt like they were going to fall out. I have long hair and when running the cord was a bit annoying with my ponytail if I put them in from behind and just seemed silly in front. I could just never get comfortable with them. Maybe I'm just a female with small ear canals?
You will receive new and improved Fins from the Bluebuds X. They are softer in the middle and stiffer at the tip which makes a more secure and comfortable fit.
The X2's come with new Comply Foam tips(Sport) these are a big upgrade from the silicone tips. These Foam tips help a ton when the ear tips get wet from sweat. They seem to stay in your ears instead of slip out like the silicone tips. They also seem to help create a more complete and full fit in your ear which helps create a better more bass filled sound.
The carry case has been changed as well. It is a silicone case with a pop top. I like it a bit better then the magnetic closure case from before. The new silicone case won't open as easily in your bag. Not a big issue for most people but a nice new detail.
It seems like the new X2's are improved in every way from the Bluebuds X. I love my new X2's. They are great from Snowboarding, running, everything you would like music in during your active lifestyle.
However my first pair got here and they were defective. They immediately started sounding fuzzy on highs. So i wasn't sure if they were defective or if they weren't until i tried my friends pair. Thats when i decided to not exchange them for the powerbeats2 and give this company another chance. So i received the new pair and they sound AMAZING.......but....
-THE BAD
Once you get to a loud volume the sound often gets distorted. I listen to my music loud when i work so this product is definitely not for me.
I have small ears and i didnt find these very comfortable to wear for a couple of hours.
The bass is not all there
-THE GOOD
These headphones are great with vocals.
They look stunning
The battery life is awesome
Mic works good
Overall this product is a high quality looking product however for the 179.99 price mark and the great reviews i saw i was expecting to get blown away with great sound and not just the how they look. I am not an audiophile by any mean but the jaybird x2 just didnt cut for me. Im choosing the powerbeats over these because of the absence of bass and distortion at high volumes for when i work out.
I mean what can I say but of course I love them here are the reasons why :
1 As I am a runner and those who run would understand when ur in the zone u don't like things jiggling on u distracting u... these dont .
2 If u want to clean them remove the rubber thing that fits in ur ear ... wash that in cold water or rinse under tap ..... the inside speaker be very careful to clean that take a small soft brush and just swish over the surface removing any and all dirt .
3 The boom in the jaybirds X2 is at the moment incomparable to any on the market ....i really like the boom ..when i first got the product i was not so happy coz I did not understand it did not know how to wear it .... on seeing the videos on youtube I found a wearing pattern which was comfortable and have not looked back after that ...
4 Sure its expensive who spends on a headphone but I did and I feel its the best spending I did... I researched for months and then narrowed it down on this one.
If you the reader buys the X2 u will be happy I can guarantee this from my own experience
Jaybird team thank u
When they work and have been dialed in to fit me, they do as promised and stay in place and work quite well, just they don't hold up. I'm a heavy sweater but they don't seem to last from being used 4-5 times a week at the gym and on runs or bike rides.
While the product is a little more refined with the Comply foam earbuds included and some minor other changes, I was hoping the new upgrade battery would fix the issues I keep seeming to have. I would rate these headphones lower but their Support team is quite good, just tired of having to spend $$$ to ship defective units back priority so JayBird will send me the replacements.
For JayBird Support who may read this I ordered my pair through Trade In credit and purchased X2's on order SA#412905 - August 25, 2015.
Prior RMA's that I've kept record of:
RMA243269
RMA233559
1) Wireless: Before I tried wireless headphones, I didn't totally understand the appeal, because I didn't think that cords bothered me that much. Now that I have wireless headphones, though, I could never go back. Not having to fumble with cords is awesome!
2) Fit: The headphones fit my ears snugly (I wear then under-ear) with no problems while running or biking. The new X2 foam tips fit a lot more snugly and comfortably for me than the former silicone tips, though the silicone tips are still available if you prefer them.
3) Sweatproof: I sweat a lot on my bike trainer and haven't had any issues with sound quality or function. I also got caught in a rainstorm while running and didn't have any problems.
4) Battery life: The extended battery life is great. I have enough things to remember to charge with my watches and bike computers, and the headphones can last me through a long weekend of training.
5) Range: I'll often wear them for listening to podcasts while I clean. I can move all over my house and onto my deck without compromising sound clarity.
Overall, the X2 headphones have proven to be versatile and comfortable - a great buy!
So, what's left? Oh yeah...the sound. At first I thought the bass was low, but after several tracks from The Art of McCartney, I am happy with it. Better than my LG--by far, and once they are broke in, maybe in a class with my Bose. The controls are simple and these can serve as telephone buds too. Highly recommended.
Another distraction was always losing the buds due to sweat where they get slippery and start falling out of your ear. Now with the rubber fin grape and the foam caps... these guys are staying in from start to finish. Love these headphones and have been raving about them to anyone interested.
Way to go Jaybird!
If I had to say anything negative about my headphones it would be that the earpiece doesn't fit my strange ears hole! but there are multiple ways of wearing them. So unless I am on the phone. I wrap them behind my head and around my ears and get it done. This is the best fit for me when training. When I use them as a phone, I kept the clips in and just rotate the mic from the back of my head to the side of my face. So if my wife or children call me during training, I just take 2 or 3 sec to switch positions and I am able to talk while training. Awesome product!
These are the best-sounding headphones I've ever used. The fact that they're wireless and waterproof/sweatproof and extremely adjustable is a nice bonus too. The packaging is really complicated, as is the setup. The little box that comes along with the set is pretty useless for carrying the headphones (it's HUGE and tricky to open) but it serves pretty well for carrying the extra parts. There's a weird flat USB cord, but any micro USB will do. Even once I figured out the right size, it took a while to get used to how the "wings" pushed into my ears.
But who cares about all that trivia. These sound amazing! I use them both for exercise and for commuting on a very noisy train.
They are really expensive, I know, but if you're like me you use them a LOT. If you can afford these Jaybird X2, I definitely recommend them.
PRO's: 1) NO MORE EAR TUGS. I am 6'3" and running with a cable attached to the headphones always resulted in the buds tugging on my ears.
2.) NO CORDS SNAGS - I swear that cord gets caught on everything and is super limiting. Now when I am lifting, I can set the phone down and work out.
3.) NO MORE TANGLED HEADPHONES
4.) GREAT BLUETHOOTH RANGE - one a single level house, I can go anywhere without the signal cutting out.
5.) EASY CHARGING
CON's
1.) DOES NOT LINK UP WITH NON-BLUETOOTH DEVICES - which is a DUH!!...but when you get into the habit or carrying around your Jaybird’s and you get onto a flight you too may also experience this " DUH MOMENT" and realize the most TV sets on airlines are not Bluetooth compatible and as a result you'll have to buy a pair of $.50 headphones for $5. Other then that, I really have loved these headphones.
Other than battery it's really comfortable. It stays and won't fall out. I played basketball with it and have my phone on the bench and it's still have decent connection. A couple of time the power bottom wouldn't work. I pressed it for 5-7 seconds and it won't shut off. I had to wait for the battery to die to turn it off.
It wouldn't be five stars if it wasn't for the battery problem. Considering the price that is close to $200, I expect something that builds with quality and would last me for a while. Sadly this isn't the case and therefore I give it a one star.
