As the title states, this printer does the job I bought it for precisely. It takes up very little desk space and is a workhorse. If I had one minor criticism, I'd like to see it have a longer cord so it doesn't have to be as close to my monitor as it now sits. Otherwise, I give it a 5-Stars RAVE Review and recommend it to anyone who needs to make a lot of black copies. I liked it so much that I got rid of another laser printer I had (a BIG, expensive one that shall remain nameless out of professional courtesy to that company)and when the time came for a color printer I decided to stick with HP and purchased their OfficeJet 6700 Premium model. LOVE it too! HP is reliable, has a stellar customer service department and truly backs their products. It almost sounds like I work for them, but I do not; I'm a writer! LOL!

- Purchased 9/2011 from the Egg - $113 at time of purchase--- Pros ---* Fast* Spot on* Fairly small--- Cons ---* Toner cartridge is quite small* Wifi but not hard wired--- Thoughts ---* We are like most people I'm sure. We don't print very much, but it's annoying when we do and the ink is dried up. This one we fill toner about once a year if even that.* The toner cartridge is small which to me seems like a marketing ploy, sure you save because toner is cheaper but they make the cartridge small than you have to refill more.* Wifi didn't work so well for us. Not easy to setup and didn't seem to be stable at all. So I tied it into a machine and shared it on our network. I would of loved for this to of just been hard wired, but it was cheap.

Two months I got a new laptop with Win 7 and my Xerox workhorse was so old I couldn't get a compatable driver for it. So after researching new printers I chose this one. I'll start with what I like about it:Is compact and durable. Easy set-up. Cartridges print a zillion copies, although they are expensive. Printing quality (when it printed) was good. I like that it goes into a stand-by mode, which it comes out of when you send a document to print. The fact that it doesn't print 2-sided didn't bother me since I don't do that much. Obviously the price was great, no contest on that. Especially for an HP. And for a wireless one at that! Now the downsides: although I may have just gotten a lemon. Mine made this "chugging" noise whenever it printed, it was rather loud. When I tried to set up a color printer I own to my laptop, it screwed up all the HP's printer settings on my computer, which was weird. Had a hard time getting it to work again. It would also need to be reset whenever we lost power, like booting and rebooting it. There have been a number of times I get the error message that my document failed to print so I went through the troubleshooting, only to have it tell me there was nothing wrong (even though it was STILL not printing. That's the point it's at now, not printing at all and I don't know why. Sigh, it's barely 2 months old). Then the troubleshooter tells you that if you're still having trouble to go ask a friend or family member. Yeah, right.I should explain that this printer has indicator lights on the top. Depending on the color or if they're flashing etc. then you know if it's ready/available or in an "error" state. However, there's no way to tell what the "error" is, because it's not indicated (and the manual doesn't specify either). So you're left to run a troubleshoot and I've already told you how worthless that is.Of course I'm disappointed, and even moreso if I have to send it back then where do I find another wireless printer for even close to this great price?

I was in need of a fast, compact wireless printer and visited my local big box retailer and came on to Amazon to do some research. I read a few of the reviews of people that have had problems with this HP P1102w. I decided that for a little more than $100 I could take a chance and if it didn't work out, I'd send it back.I can report that setup was very well specified and that by following the directions I was able to get this unit up and running in a very short amount of time. I was able to connect to my wireless network very quickly and was printing out b+w sheets with zero problems. I have an old Lenovo laptop running Windows XP. Again, no problems with setup. I did have an issue trying to set up multiple laptops using another OS and I haven't done the research to find out if it's even possible to get the printer to talk to more than one machine. As it's my primary printer with my primary laptop I'm not going to worry about it.Speed: The printer is lightening fast for me. Up to now I'd have to physically bring my laptop to the inkjet printer and hook up the USB cable and wait. Print times were glacially slow. Now I hit Ctrl-P and a few moments later I hear the printer kicking out a copy. The printer turns itself on and off before and after printing a file so I don't have to physically do it. So far so good with that.Quality: For my purposes, mostly text and a few illustrations, this printer is crisp and clean.Price: Again, for a little more than $100 I cannot complain about the price.Overall Impression: This is a quick, compact, fast laser printer that just plain works. It was easy to setup, fits my needs and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anybody with similar needs.

I purchased my first P1102w printer about a year ago and, based on its performance, ordered another one. Big mistake. The new printer refuses to work wirelessly but does do a respectable job when connected via a USB cable. Troubleshooting by swapping old and new printers between work and home certainly proved the problem is with the new printer. I'd like to think this was an isolated issue but by nephew purchased a P1102w recently and is experiencing the same wireless problem. Even the process of downloading the latest firmware left a sour taste in my mouth--the HP website contains a host of poorly worded and grammatically incorrect instructions. HP seems to have focused on spending billions of dollars on poorly thought-out acquisitions and is ignoring its core product lines...

I got a paper jam in my printer and was unable to remove the paper. I called HP support and asked how to remove the back panel and was told that there was no back panel to remove. I have never owned a printer that doesn't have a back panel to easily take off and remove jammed paper. I was told that my printer was not not able to be fixed but was still under warranty and I could get a new one for $99 (that is about the price that I paid!). I have had horrible luck with their PCs and until this point liked their printers, but I have now lost complete respect for this company. DO NOT BUY this printer!!

Our company is working on a solution for our field techs to be able to print invoices and such from their iPhones and iPads. Apple listed this printer an AirPrint compatible device, so I purchased one since it was the cheapest I could find for a laser printer. When I got the printer up and running, the iPad could not detect the device. After some Internet research, I learned I needed to install the firmware update to allow that. That worked and we were off and printing in no time.I then realized that the device was working through my wifi router and that once I took it out to the vehicle and away from my wifi network, then we lose connectivity. Fortunately, the printer can be placed into Adhoc mode, creating it's own wifi network. After doing that and configuring my iPhone and iPad to connect to the printer's wifi connection, I was able to detect the printer and print to it. One side note, if you find yourself going with the adhoc mode and connecting to it from a iPhone/iPad, be sure and turn on the Auto-Join feature in the iPhone/Ipad wifi connection settings so that it auto-connects to the device each time you get back to it).So, after all of this, it works, but not as smoothly as I would like. After powering up the printer, it can take a while (minutes) for the iPhone/iPad to start seeing the printer again. We are still in the process of testing this solution so time will tell how well this printer will work in a vehicle. I can say that while it was in our office connected to our wifi network, it worked very well for printing from PC's and iDevices wirelessly. For an inverter to power this printer in a vehicle, we used the Duracell 813-0807 800 Watt DC to AC Digital Power Inverter, which provided more than enough watts to power this laser printer. I believe you will need to wire the inverter directly to your car battery though. The power output is diminished when you try and use a cigarette lighter adapter (which is not included with the inverter anyway). This inverter has a digital readout to show how much power is being used and we never see it go over 650 watts when the printer is printing. One final note, the printer is factory set to shutoff after 5 minutes of inactivity, which is great when the printer is connected to a car battery. Even though it's "off" it is still listening and will power up when a print job is sent to it. Pretty cool.I purchased both these products through Amazon.

Printing quality-wise, this is a great printer up to par to the rest of the products from HP. It's pretty fast for a home/small office setting and works great over the USB. When it comes to wireless, well... when it works it works great, but if this thing has any flaws it's in the wireless operation department. Once I set it up it works great for a while, but sometimes it just stops to co-operate so I have to set up the wireless function again (the working period can last from a couple of weeks to months). It also has trouble doing manual duplex wirelessly, at least with my configuration (32 bit Vista + Office 2007) in so much that in stead of waiting for me to put the printed out material back in the tray for manual duplex it just prints everything single sided at once. The manual duplex option works fine over USB though.

I don't really print that often lately. Since I am almost always by a computer and always by a handheld device, the need to print is not what it used to be. However, sometimes you really do need a hardcopy. For the last year or two, I have been winging it printing at work or at a friend's/family member's house. Despite how little I ever need a hardcopy, this is really suboptimal.I have an older HP laserjet that was donated to me. I haven't used it is quite some time, though I believe it still works. However, it needs a new toner cartridge and only has a centronics port. I have had "getting a network adapter for it soon" on my list forever now. Basically, each time I print something it gets re-added, but then forgotten.Recently, I had a something important to print, and discovered neither of my current computers actually has a Centronics port. A few weeks prior, I was also almost burned by not being able to print hockey tickets (at the last minute). Considering the cost of toner and the network adapter, I went down to a local retailer.I didn't do much research on this (rare). I surveyed what they had and picked it. I wanted something reliable (even with infrequent use), easy to set up and use, with no frills, but good output quality. Wireless is a big plus (although I think they all have that now). Inkjets are certainly out -- they are cheaper and since I don't print a lot you might think the lower capacity wouldn't matter, but this is not true. Ink dries out, toner does not. I don't really care about color (and if I need it, the "bumming off a friend's printer" model is fine for this).I get it home, and this is one of the easiest peripherals I have ever set up. No CD is needed, you just plug it in and go. All the drivers are stored IN the printer. On a side note, this is an idea I have had for a while, and I think it is great. There is a CD in case that doesn't work. I entered the wireless password, unplugged the USB cable, and it just worked, simple as that. I repeated the process with my laptop, and same results. It is INCREDIBLY fast. It must sit in hot standby or something; you hit print and it comes on and starts printing within 1-3 seconds. It prints at like 19 ppm or something, which IIRC was fast even for large office printers just a few short years ago. Really a good buy so far.

Great little powerhouse with small office footprint and cheap generic catridges. I've been using this for about a year and works great on all computers around the house ranging from Windows 7, Vista, and XP. I do eBay as a side hobby printing tons of labels the stats sheet show I've printed over 4,000 sheets already with 2 paper jams due to the sticky label paper (that I easily fixed). I had a Samsung laser previously but the Samsungs are larger and the ink isn't as cheap. If you can do a web search, you'll easily find generic HP cartridges just a little more than ten bucks each.Just got a Macbook Air with OS X Lion recently and initially had problems connecting to the printer. The fix is to upgrade the printer firmware. Any firmware version September 2011 (or later) should resolve the problem. After googling the name of this printer and FIRMWARE, I was able to locate the printer firmware from HP's site and perform a wireless update. Don't be intimidated by "firmware" and "wireless update" because this is a very simple process requiring just a few clicks of the mouse. After that, I was able to connect to the printer with no fancy hoops as explained previously for Leopard users.Edit: August 24, 2012. Stats page now reads 7,593 pages printed. Recently, the printer was having problems pulling in thicker label paper into the feeder. Looked on HP.COM and found that I just needed to wipe down the rubber piece (that pulls paper) with a swab of alcohol. That fixed it and now it's back to printing again like usual.Edit: January 6, 2013. Stats page now reads 8,614 pages printed. In August, got a Brother Ink Jet MFC-J435W for my workhorse, for the cheap ink refill cartridges that I can return to the office stores for credit & nearly free printing. The Brother is a false economy though, lots of clogging and cleaning of the ink jet heads, lots of jams, most importantly lots of time wasted. Wish I never got it, but I guess it's a learning experience. The HP P1102w just keeps chugging along ever so reliably for no-nonsense printing.

I ordered the HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer (CE657A#BGJ) for our office. The primary users of this are our company owner and the employee who assists him with billing. The purpose of this printer was to be able to have one closer to her desk so she doesn't have to walk across the building every time she prints an invoice, and also to prevent both of their print jobs from being held up by print jobs by the rest of the team upstairs. This little printer does just the trick. It is nice an small, so it fits well in the limited space we have in the reception area, but it is powerful enough it prints all of their documents quickly and well.Set up was easy. The software walks you through configuring it for your wireless network, and I had no issues installing it on the Windows PCs we needed it on. After the printer is configured, users can easily install the printer on their desktops by pointing their web browser to the IP address for the printer, and using the install wizard there. The boss also has a MAC computer and an iPad and has been able to configure both to print to this printer using Airprint. The Airprint functionality required a firmware update for the printer after I received it, but the firmware was easy and quick to install. Airprint was an unexpected bonus - we didn't even realize the printer did this until it arrived and I read the manual. The boss was so tickled by this feature that he had me find him a good multifunction HP printer that also had this functionality and he bought that for his home. The HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer has been a good purchase for our office, and prints documents very well. I highly recommend it.

Got this in January 2011 and have used it so lightly that the original starter toner cartridge is still in it. It worked great and was the perfect wireless printer, until 2 months ago when HP pushed out a firmware update. I installed it, and ever since then the printer is toast. It won't stay connected to the wireless, even when I assigned it a static address, and will not connect to the computer with any reliability except when hooked up via USB (and thereby defeating the purpose of a wireless printer). It will also no longer wake from sleep mode. The best I've had is about 2 weeks of printing between having to uninstall and reinstall it - and if I shut the computer down, I have to start from scratch again.I finally broke down and called HP support and they told me that because it was out of warranty, I'd have to pay $24.99 for service. I'm not about to sink that much more money into a $90 printer that doesn't work right because of their firmware update - and I'm convinced this is the problem, since it worked find before the update, to the day. A Google search shows that plenty of other people are having similar problems with connections and faulty wireless radios. I've trusted HP for 15 years of printing, but after today I'm done with them.Buy this printer at your own risk - seems it generally works well for the first year or so, but then craps out.

After reading a lot of comparison reviews, mostly on Amazon.com, I finally settled on this HP. Previously I had been using an HP 1012 which suddenly failed. The price was very good and delivery was quick, as usual. My problems began almost immediately. My computer is running Windows 7 64bit and I have a wireless router to which my computer is connected via a USB cable. I did not want to run the printer as a wireless unit. The installation is a bit too automatic. I like to be involved in the decisions the installation software is making. At any rate, after printing a couple of test pages satisfactorily it stopped printing but began looking for a wireless connection until it timed out. At last I gave up trying things and called tech support. This part is good. I reached a live person immediately. The young man was on top his his game and was very courteous. I allowed him to run my computer remotely and together we worked on the problem for perhaps an hour and a half. In the end he had to delete all traces of the previous installation and begin new. This time we got the printer to work and it has worked flawlessly ever since. I give customer support high marks but the installation should not have been this difficult. It cost HP a lot of money to get me up and running. The remaining question is durability. I don't detect that it is cheaply made. It is much faster than the HP 1012 and I like being able to set the print density using software. However, other users report early problems so I am hoping that I don't run into that.

I just love this little guy. Small foot print, prints super fast, works flawlessly with my Ipad and PC too. The hpeprint has a lot of potential. This printer "wakes" very quickly, and its already printed 4 or 5 pages before my inkjet has even started printing its first page. Setup was almost fool proof, I did hit a little snag while setting up at the HP ePrintCenter feature. I'm going to post my solution that I used on my PC in hopes that it will help the next person. This was on a Windows PC w/ XP.HP asks you: "When you set up your Web-connected printer, you will print out instructions that will include a printer code".I found NO printer code on my print out.HP then asks you to: "Enter Printer Code" and gives instructions on how to find it. Since I had originally done a USB install and not a wireless install those instructions couldnt apply to my printer.I had printed out the SELF TEST / DEVICE CONFIGURATION as instructed by HP. Since there was NOTHING called PRODUCT IP ADDRESS on that sheet of paper. Instead, what you can do is: Find the line called IPv4 Address on the Self Test/Device Configuration Paper. Open a new Internet Explorer (or browser window of your choice) and type in the IPv4 address. Mine looked similar to this 123.456.7.89 once that browser window has opened. You'll see a group of tabs at the top. Click the one that says "Networking". HOST NAME is what you're looking for. The next tab is called HP Web Services, and it will allow you to "turn on" the Remote Web Services. You'll then take that HOST NAME back to the HP ePrintCenter and register with it.Copy and Paste that into the "Enter Printer Code" line back on the HP ePrintCenter, and it gets a little easier from there.

HP LaserJet Pro P1102 This printer printed very well until I installed Mountain Lion on my Mac. Since then, the wireless has ceased to function and there is no website, that I can find, that will give me any assistance, certainly not HP. I've had an expert download new updates; reinstalled soft wear; and basically done everything we can find to do. Still will not connect to the router. I bought this as our main black and white printer for home as a I am sick to death of the expense of the Lexmark inkjet color all-in-one that we currently use, mainly for text. That can now be relegated (optimized?) for color printing only.I have a similar wired HP1006 printer at work, so I already suspected that this would be a great printer with the advantage of wifi connectivity. I was not disappointed.Set-up was very easy. Simply unpack the printer, plug into the AC supply and then use the USB cable supplied to connect to your PC for a one-time installation. Choose the custom install options if you don't want to have the usual HP "customer bloatware" installed too (just uncheck the box on the next screen, it's teh only "custom" option HP allows!). Follow the prompts and select the "wireless" connectivity options. Unplug the USB cable and store it away. Enter your WEP/WPA key for your home network when prompted and hey presto, you're good to go. Whole set up took under 10 minutes on a WinXP machine.Adding other laptops was easy - just use the install disk. No need to use the USB cable at this point, again use custom install to disable the HP bloatware being added, and select the option that states "I want to print from a printer already configured on wifi". Takes under 10 minutes on a Vista machine.I will try adding a Win7 laptop tomorrow, but do not anticipate any issues. The wifi signal seems pretty good and easily able to send files quickly from the ground floor of the house to the second floor, with no drop.Summary of features:* Printing is fairly fast and the machine wakes up from its eco-sleep mode pretty rapidly.* Duplex printing is manual, but I am used to that with the HP1006.* There is a manual feed tray above the main tray.* Maximum paper width is 8.5 inches.A highly recommended printer.

Arrived boxed, styrofoamed, taped, etc. Once i got down to printer, there was a two page drawing of how to insert the printer cartridge. No explanation, no copy, nothing, just hard to view illustrations (sixteen in all.) Inside, instruction book was not much better with one line sentences and more drawings. Guess this is to cover all their world-wide customers! Well, I would have appreciated more in English rather than drawings. I still have not got this printer working as the light keeps flashing saying paper is jammed, door is not shut, etc. I haven't even printed yet. There is a CD included and once again it reiterates everything above with pictures and one line sentences. I tried calling at 3:30pm Monday, PDT. They were in mid-west and closed at 5pm their time. What the heck? HP is a big company and their products are expensive. They are cutting every angle. Too late for me to return item. Guess it goes on Craigslist....sigh. There is an Office Depot 6 blocks from me. Would have been easier with customer service for product that I don't get from Amazon.HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer (CE657A#BGJ)

It seems that today when you want a nice simple printer to run off a document or two in old fashioned black and white, but with laser sharpness, your choices include every possible multi-function that man can devise. Goodness me! I didn't need a FAX machine -- I already have one. I didn't need a scanner, I have one of those too -- and a really good one. I didn't need a copier, my scanner takes care of that. All I wanted was a simple, reliable, affordable laser printer. HP has been making laser printers for quite a while, and seems to have got the hang of that pretty well by now. This little jewel is the main work-horse in my home office, but the quality doesn't waver, and the reliability doesn'e fail. Highly reccommended.

EDIT 05.03.12I finally found the time to sit down and try to get this thing to work with OSX Lion. It took some tinkering, but it is now properly installed on one of my Lion machines, prints via wireless and Airprint, and is capable of printing via HP iPhone app, eprintcenter.com (email) and Google Cloud Print. Considering it's been a glorified paperweight for 6 months now I'd say that's pretty good. My review is again granted 4 star status.---EDIT 11.29.11I CANNOT recommend this printer to Mac owners - it is not compatible with OSX Lion. See my comment on this review. The printer itself is fine (if you use nothing newer than Leopard/Snow Leopard or a PC). Original review is below.---Full credit goes to the uber-helpful R. Ruiz for the detailed instructions on how to install for Snow Leopard (10.6). I wanted to clarify a couple steps that seem to be different for Leopard users, then I figured I might as well just re-post the whole dang thing. Also it doesn't mention the actual installation CD, which is actually the first step.1) Open box and separate printer from accessories, styrofoam, plastic, tape, plastic, more tape, more styrofoam, more plastic, etc.2) Plug printer in and turn on.3) Connect USB/Fireware cable from printer to computer.4) Insert Installation CD and install. When finished it will pop up with a window asking you to choose Network or USB printer. Obviously, click the radio button for USB, since that's the only option.5) Go to the Apple icon in top left corner of your desktop - then System Preferences - Print & Fax.6) Double-click the HP LaserJet Professional P1102w in the sidebar on left.7) Click the Utility icon in the top right of the window that appears (printer must be connected via USB for this to work).8) Click HTML Config at bottom left.9) Click the Networking tab at top.10) Click Wireless in left sidebar.11) Under Communication Mode select Infrastructure.12) Type in your wireless network name under Current Network Name (SSID).13) Under Authentication choose your Security Mode. If WEP, choose the correct Input Key and enter the password under WEP Key 1. If WPA, just enter password.14) Click Apply at bottom right. It will confirm - then close out of this window.15) Go back to the System Preferences Print & Fax window. Select the HP LaserJet Professional P1102w in the sidebar at left. Click the minus button underneath to delete.16) Click the plus button. Under the Default tab select HP LaserJet Professional P1102w - Bonjour (Kind).17) Unplug USB/Firewire cable and print a test page (double-click printer name in sidebar then at top - Printer - Print Test Page).---I don't know how you would figure this out otherwise... This is why I love Amazon.I will post an update with my actual review of the product after I've had time to use it. At 139.00, I expected more. Put the pros are this... Easy installation both USB and wireless. Set up was a breeze. After I installed it, I could then move it anywhere in the house and print to it. The latest update includes ePrint drivers and I was able to print from my android phone... But my iPad devices don't see it. But apple is horrible anyways. Just remember, this is not a color printer, so you can't print pics. Replacement toners by HP are 60 bucks... But you can find generic ones for 20. I'm still considering returning it for a color laser... Just not sure yet. So basically, my rating was based on ease of operation and product expectations. Now that I got it, I might just be looking for more.

My girlfriend opened the door 20 seconds after he knocked. Not even giving us a chance to sign for the package. If we were not home its possible someone walking by could see the hp box and snag it. Old driver always gave us a chance to get to the door and sign for the package or would leave it in the office were it is secureProduct setup was reasonably easy. I got stuck but went to the setup guide and found out I just needed to go to computer (win 7) and click on the drive from the printer. I usually don't write reviews but this printer has me so irrigated that it definitely deserved a horrible review. To start off the printer is advertized with E-Print and AirPrint capabilities. These are not active out of the box. After some short research I found that you must complete a firmware upgrade to use these functions. This sounds simple enough but instructions are horrible. About mid way through the firmware upgrade (over wireless) the printer looses wireless connection. I would recommend trying the update over USB maybe you will have a better outcome. Because of the loss of connection your computer assumes the firmware upgrade never completed. This is my experience maybe others had a different experience. During the update the printer assumes a different IP address. Not wanting to change the IP of the router and my laptop I figured I would just delete the printer from Printers and reset the printer to factory settings. This seems like a good idea but the printer does not start its auto configuration when you plug it in for the second time. After time consuming research I found that the printer needs to be deleted form add remove programs and then you can run the install and set up the printer again. Then next problem appears when you turn the power off on the printer the wireless never reconnects. After more extensive research I found that the only way to get the printer back is to power cycle the router after the printer is power cycled. The printer wireless light is always solid blue but it will not communicate unless you power cycle the router. This appears to be a glitch in the software update. Just figured I would let you all know and maybe save you some time trouble shooting.

This is a great printer for the cost. The wireless function works flawlessly, and it doesn't need to be turned on (sleep mode is fine) for a computer to print to it. I found it easiest to set up using a USB cable (HP instructions were very clear) and it works great on my wireless network. I have owned it for about two months so can't speak to toner cartridge longevity (comes with a "starter cartridge" that supposedly will print about 700 pages). One disappointment. Being a new printer (released by HP in the fall 2010), I expected it would work on my new IPad using IPad's "airprint feature." But no, it does not work. That I think is Apple's fault; hopefully, next time Apple updates its operating system they will fix that. The ability to print from an IPad was new with Apple's latest operating system (version 4.2.1) so let's hope Apple will talk with the HP people to fix this.Periodically, HP and retailers (including Amazon) have this on sale at [...] or so. I was going to buy it directly from HP for that price, which included free shipping, but I waited too long and the price went up. Then I bought it at a computer store for [...].In short, no regrets other than the IPad issue noted above--but surely a patch will fix that; hopefully not too far in the future.March 12, 2011 Update--Still love this printer. Latest OS version for the IPad is 4.3 released March 11, 2011. This OS was released at the same time as the new IPad2 and it still does not enable printing to this printer from an IPad.July 15, 2011 Update--As a result of a comment sent to me, I learned that by downloading a recent firmware update to this printer, my Ipad now is able to print to this printer using its airprint feature! Thanks Apple and (or) HP for making this fix!July 24, 2011 Update--HP fixed one thing and apparently messed up another. Well yes I can print from my IPad after the firmware update, but a new and troublesome issue arose. On the other computers on my home wireless network, if I print from one of them to this printer--it does not stop--page after page after page and I only wanted a single page! I went to the HP website and it actually noted this as an issue and had a fix for it. You have to change a setting (uncheck bidirectional support on the port page of printer properties) on each computer (not necessary for the IPad--it still works fine) for this issue to get resolved. It worked, but I had to buy a new cartridge since all the toner was used up! I have now lowered my evaluation to four stars.January 25, 2013 Update--Still like this printer. One thing that bothered me has now been corrected. As a result of a recent firmware update from HP, the printer periodically flashes a green light letting you know it is ready to go. Previously, when in the "sleep mode" there was no indication whether the printer would be working when a person sends a print job to it. A nice touch HP!

Великолепно
I needed an inexpensive laser printer for college. I chose the HP because refill cartridges are less expensive and easier to get than Samsung. I've had this printer for about 10 months now, and have yet to replace the toner cartridge. It has yet to break or not perform.I especially like that this printer will print on both sides of a sheet of paper. Yes, you have to manually move the sheets back into the tray, but at this price point, that's to be expected, and is not a problem. Printing on both sides reduces the amount of paper I use and carry. This was overall a great buy.
